Darker Than Black RP

This roleplay is based on the anime, Darker than Black. It isn't exactly the same but I tweaked things round a little to make it simpler to understand and RP.

Ten years ago, an inscrutable and abnormal territory known as Hell's Gate appeared in Tokyo, altering the sky and wreaking havoc on the landscape. The real stars disappeared, replaced by false stars.

It was dark.

The city was unnervingly quiet that night as the black cat swiftly leaped across one roof after another, only pausing for a short sniff. There was a dark figure crouched at the edge, back facing him.

"Mao? What is it?" The figure spoke tonelessly.

The crescent moon was partially hidden behind the gloomy clouds, weak rays of silver light reaching his face. But one could not see his face.

Because he was wearing a mask. A mask that shielded his face. Mao stared at him for a while longer than necessary, wondering what lay behind that unnerving mask and cold voice. Perhaps there was more behind this mysterious Contractor. Sensing that the other man was waiting for an answer, he quickly mewed, "We have orders from The Syndicate, Hei. Stop the M-16 organization."

His yellow eyes narrowed into slits.

Wipe them all out."

Others: He wields a long pale green sword which he made by himself. His energized sword can slice through everything easily and he can dodge attacks quickly by energizing himself.

Description: Pretty 13 year old girl with wavy red hair. She has light green eyes and she wears a small orange flower in her hair. She is very petite and is smaller then most. She normally wears jean shorts, bracelets, flowers in her hair, and she loves wearing floral tank tops. Alexa is very swift and agile but not very strong so she relies on her speed and agility.
Ability: Pyrokinesis- ability to summon and control fire and heat. Can survive in any type of heat, fire cannot hurt her.
Obeisance: Taking pictures with her camera
Others: Alexa is very cheerful, sweet, kind, and loves telling jokes, but she is stubborn and hates being told she's wrong. She hates being corrected by someone especially if that person is her age. This agitates her easily. Also Alexa was trained in the ways of a sword and has a sword that her father gave to her before he died. Her father had told her that he used it as a fire sword since he was trained in Pyrokinesis as well. All you had to do was summon an ember and cloak the sword in fire. The sword is completely unharmed by the fire and is more powerful like this. It has a ruby encrusted hilt and her father put a charm on the sword so that if Alexa ever lost it, the sword would teleport back to its sheath.

Others: She is very sneaky and is trained in the way of stealth. She is mysterious and very quiet and speaks only when spoken to. Azura is great at planning and is a silent, deadly killer when she needs to be.

Others: He wields a katana-like sword, shorter than the usual length but much harder than any other sword. A priceless weapon, the blade is made from diamond and layered with tempered bronze, specially made for me him because of his intolerance of iron. The sword serves only as a last-resort weapon.

Description: Usually takes the form of a black cat with yellow eyes.

Birdflight, regarding your character, Alexa, does she dye her hair herself to another colour? Because after all, she's still human, just with powers.

Streamfur, your character Alyss needs to have another power as Brightstar's character, Mao has the power of animal posession, which is basically shapeshifting into animals.

Brightstar, Brynne cannot have the power of Elementalist. Only one power, not four.

Hei was at the roof of the watchtower. He lay flat on his back, gazing at the sky. The morning breeze felt cool on his face. He always came to the roof when he needed a good rest and a peaceful state of mind. He let out a contented sigh and closed his eyes.

"Hei." Brynne walked across the stones, her bare feet making minimal noise on the worn rock. "Feeling tired?" Her voice was light and teasing as she moved to sit next to him. She'd been surprised to see him here when she'd come up for fresh air, relaxing beneath the sunny sky.

Mao was tired. He'd spent the night pacing back and forth at the windows, his yellow eyes never straying from the full, milky moon that hung high up in the night sky. More than once, he'd thought he had heard someone encroaching the watchtower, each time proving to be a false alarm. With a heavy sigh, the lean, black cat turned from the windows and headed upstairs for a nap.

Hei opened one eye, realized who it was and closed his eyes again. "Just needed some peace and quiet," He replied, a dark look flickering across his gaze. "Well, until you came."

"Damn it!" (I hope damn isn't considered a bad word)

Shizu's sword clattered onto the floor as the young boy fell upon his knees weakly. With trembling hands, he took the blindfold that he had tucked away in his pocket earlier on, and wrapped in around his head, covering his right eye. He energized himself immediately, feeling strength return to him.

"I hate my obeisance!" He seethed with rage, ignoring the blank stare that July shot at him.

Brynne shrugged, unbothered by his grumpiness. "I can be quiet," she pointed out. "But if you want more I'd just leave." She stood back up, glancing at the peaceful scenery surrounding the watchtower. Forests and hills, a crooked stream wriggling its way in the gulches and valleys made by the hills.

Caine stared at his hands, calloused and scarred from so many battles and hardships. Making a face, the 16-year old boy washed his hands and dried them on a towel. He turned off the light in his room and softly shut the door before heading downstairs.

~ I changed Hei to a 17-year-old boy so that it wouldn't be so weird D; ~

Hei made a sudden grab for Brynne's hand and pulled her back to the floor. "No, I won't mind," He said, letting out a heavy sigh as he quickly told her about what the Syndicate's new missions.

~ LOL Brightstar, they're in a city Where did the forest and streams come from haha ~

Shizu swung the sword a few times before putting it back into its sheath. He noticed how July's eyes followed his actions and bowed apologetically. "Sorry," He said to the doll, panting slightly. "I got a little too excited." He smiled - back to his usual cheerful self -, grabbed July's arm and left the training centre.

Brynne settled back down again,a strange little smile quirking the corner of her mouth. The expression faded as she listened however, a frown replacing the smile. "Wipe them all out? That's not an easy task at all." She fully turned to stare at Hei's face, mulling it over. "We'll have to depend on Mao."

Mao wriggled, tail thrashing. "I'm tired, but I can still walk, you know," he grumbled, twisting himself into a more comfortable postion. His yellow eyes glittered, unconciously gripping with his claws as Shizu's bouncy walk jostled him off balance. "Sorry..."

Xia climbed up the steps to the roof of the Syndicate watchtower, muttering slightly to himself. "Hey," he nodded at Hei (lol) and Brynne. "Looks like the party's started without me..." he glowered, sitting cross-legged near the two of them. "Just finished writing a poem that took forever..." he muttered, recalling the hours he spent at his desk scribbling down phrases of love and romance. "So...what's up?"

~ You know what, Brightstar? I realized that Mao, Hei and Brynne are with the syndicate while Shizu and July at with M-16 o___o why is Mao roleplaying with Shizu and July? ~

Koma entered the room, with his cat Midnight walking next to him. "What's up?" he said not realizing that Xia had just said that before he came in.

(Btw for my characters Azura is 16 and Alexa is 13 Oh quick question about dolls, do they become their observation medium or are they like watching through the eyes of it's observation medium? Just checking before I rp)

Alexa sighed and taking some tape hung up another picture on the walls of her room. Pictures were absolutely everywhere in her room. "I guess taking pictures isn't such a bad obeisance right?" She whispered to herself. Alexa sat back looking at all her pictures she had taken over the years. She stopped when she saw the picture of her and her father. Alexa smiled slightly remembering the day they had taken that picture. That day they had gone on a fishing trip and she had caught a huge fish and her father had to help her to hold up the fish. Alexa got to her feet and grabbed her camera. She threw the strap of the camera around her neck and let the camera hang. It was a like a big, bulky necklace. Throwing on her flip flops and checking her hair real quick in her dusty, broken mirror she walked out of her room turning out the light. She heard the clatter of the unmistakable sound of a sword and headed in that direction, worry beginning to prick at her heart.

Brightstar, Mao isn't a spy. He gets orders/missions directly from the Head of the Syndicate and passes all information to the other contractors like Hei. Its just an extra task that he has.

Hei glanced at the two newcomers and nodded in acknowledgement. A beautiful day with such a peaceful environment. And so many people. How wonderful. He silently gnawed his teeth in annoyance. He unconsciously extended one hand to pet Midnight, but quickly redrew. "Does he bite?"

Shizu noticed a familiar figure heading towards him and came to a halt when he recognized her. "Morning, Alexa," He waved merrily. The light in his eyes died and turned into concern when he noticed the troubled and worried expression she had.

"Did something happen?" He couldn't help asking.
