Life in WindClan Camp

Honeystar gazed at the Leafbare night sky from his den. A big snow-fall had been going on all day, and the warriors were just finished removing it from the Main Clearing. Hopefully we will have enough prey to get us through to New-leaf. Getting up he walked over towards the fresh-kill pile to check on it.

Walking towards the RiverClan Leader Honeystar mewed reassuringly. "You are welcomed to stay for the night. I'll see about getting some new nests built in the Warrior Den."

~A couple moons had passed since Snowlily moved into WindClan [and had Honeystar's kits].~
Mapleheart carried a rabbit he had caught, and went towards the nursery. It had been a few days ago since she moved in. He could already hear the squeaks and mews of his younger half-siblings inside. They're so cute. I can't believe how long ago it has been since we were that age. He walked inside and placed the fresh kill in front of his mate, and purred. "I brought you this."

Craneflight licked her back before replying. "There's nothing to be sorry about." He then wrapped his tail around hers. "These things happen....Since you're already here, why don't you just stay for a little bit. Snowlily had her kits, I'm sure they would love to see you. They're so precious." He gave a slight purr.

"Alright! But only for the night. I can`t wait to see them!" She poked Craneflight and ran, "Tag!" She headed for the Windclan camp, running as fast as she could. She knew he would beat her, but it was fun!

Autumndawn lifted her head and smiled purring loudly. "Thank you Mapleheart." She mewed eyes shining like the stars. Looking up at him she mewed, "Theres four kits coming, and your first to know although Applefur will want to know. She's been checking on me almost nonstop." Autumndawn added with a light giggle. Autumndawn began to eat her rabbit and cleaning her pelt until it shined.

Craneflight was filled with joy that Tigerspirit would be staying for the night. It was also great chasing her along the moors. "Got you!" He mewed happily as he finally caught her. "Now it's your turn." He started running off with graceful speed, like the bird he was named after. His long dark chocolate brown tail waved behind.

Mapleheart's light green eyes beamed with delight at the news. "Four kits!" He softly purred as he began to lie down beside Autumndawn. With a slight mrrow he added, "Surely not as much as I have been checking you." He licked behind his mates ears and moved down along her belly.

"Ow!" Tigerspirit fell on the green moors, licking her stomach furiously.

Cranefight turned around to see if Tigerspirit was following behind him, he saw her fall down and licking her belly on the grass. "Tigerspirit!" he yowled with worry as he turned around and rushed back to her. "Are you alright?" he mewed softly as he walked up to her.

"Got ya!" She jumped, and ran, getting a head start in front of him.

Feeling surprised and relived at the same time, Craneflight started following after her. "Very funny." he called out to her, while catching up.

"I know, right!" She sat down, panting. "Ok, now I`m really tired. Can we walk the rest of the way?"

Panting and purring, Craneflight walked up beside her. "Okay. I better find something to bring along for the fresh kill pile first. Wanna help?" He started off looking for any nearby prey-scent.

Aurorakit jumped on top of Mapleheart and began crawling up Autumndawn's back. "When are the kits gonna come?!" She mewed excitedly.

"Sorry, but I can`t catch rabbits. I only catch mice, hawks, eagles, and fish." She followed him, "But will they eat mice?"

Craneflight thought about this for a moment. "A mouse wouldn't be as impressive as a rabbit." Especially if I show up bringing a she-cat from outside of WindClan to camp. "But I suppose it would be better than nothing. Perhaps we can each bring to camp a mouse."

"Sorry, I`ll try catching a few." She dashed off, her mouth agape for mouse scent. She scented one, and spotted it rustling near a few leaves. She locked her eyes on it, and got ready to pounce. It turned around, and darted. She chased after it, scooping it back with her paw and bitings its neck swiftly.
She padded back over to Craneflight, burying the mouse next to him. "Should I catch another one?"

Affection and embarrassment rushed up inside Craneflight. "I better catch them so too, but you can. Let's try finding each three mice, but be careful in case the border should come." He started off finding the scent of mice but soon picked up something else. Grouse! He quietly followed the scent to a nearby bush. He lowered himself to a crouch, and leaped into the bush. Landing on top of the bird before it could escape. After biting it's neck, he dragged it back to Tigerspirit. "Maybe we can hunt for game birds too."

"I don`t think it`s good for me to jump, but I`ll keep on hunting mice." She dashed off, looking for mice. A few minutes later, she returned with two mice. "Is that enough? I don`t want to be rude, and come empty-handed."

Craneflight walked up to the Tribe Deputy and purred while licking along her face. "I think we've caught plenty to feed the Clan." Picking up the grouse, he signaled Tigerspirit to follow him back to the camp.

"Ok, thanks, Crane!" She walked alongside him, carrying her mice. "So...Do you think Honeystar`ll let me stay?"

Craneflight stopped and looked at her. "For the night you mean? I'm sure he will, once he sees the mice you caught, and hears the good news....Unless, you'd rather not tell them yet?"

"That`s up to you, but I`ll never get to tell my Mother..." She stared at the ground sadly, the beautiful calico that she always thought of, but didn`t know, came into mind. It`s my Mom....

Craneflight saw the sadness in Tigerspirit's eyes, and understood. Empathy began to fill up inside his heart. "I know exactly how you feel..." he mewed softly before he buried his face against her shoulder. I will never be able to tell Lotusflower either. Memories of her silver-blue-gray pelt and sky blue eyes appeared in his mind.

Tigerspirit nuzzled Craneflight, "It`s ok, I`m sure she`d be very proud." She put her head on top of his, "It`s be ok, I`m sure she`s very proud."

Craneflight looked up into Tigerspirit's purple eyes and nuzzled her back. "Thank you," he purred warmly. "I'm sure both of our mothers are proud of us." After giving an affectionate lick to her cheeks, he picked the grouse up again, and continued towards the camp.
