Life in WindClan Camp

Honeystar gazed at the Leafbare night sky from his den. A big snow-fall had been going on all day, and the warriors were just finished removing it from the Main Clearing. Hopefully we will have enough prey to get us through to New-leaf. Getting up he walked over towards the fresh-kill pile to check on it.

Tigerspirit picked up her mice, "Bet I can beat you there!" She taunted him, a sly smile appeared on her face.

Letting out a playful purr he remarked, "I could probably beat you there, even while carrying this bird." He started picking up his pace.

Tigerspirit ran ahead, "Wanna bet?" She ran as fast as she could, her long claws unsheathed.

Craneflight began catching up with Tigerspirit, the dead body of the grouse dragged and flopped along the ground, leaving a trail of feathers behind. By the time they reached the camp entrance, despite the birds heavy weight, he manged to get ahead by leaping forward. "I won!" He mewed while panting. His light blue turquoise eyes beamed in delight at her.

Meanwhile, Aurorakit was jumping around in the nursery. "Momma," she mewed at Snowlily, "Am I big enough to go outside yet?!" Snowlily had told Aurorakit and her littermates they couldn't go out of the nursery until they were a moon old. I'm tired of being cooped up in this stuffy rabbit hole!!! She started pouncing on her younger siblings who were all still sleeping. "Come on you three, help me out here!"

Trilliumkit groaned as he opened his eyes to look at his older sister. "Momma let Aurorakit out before we all go crazy like her." He was about to close his eyes when he received a swat on the head from Aurorakit. Now fully awake, he got up and lunged at her and the two of them started rolling between Snowlily and Autumndawn's nests.

Dreamcloud padded into the WindClan camp, Snowpaw and Tigerkit behind her. "Honeystar! I have come to visit!" Dreamcloud meowed, looking for Honeystar.

Honeystar emerged from his Den. He had just got back from border patrol early that. "Hello Dreamcloud," he mewed back happily. "It's great to see you. Are those your kits?" He looked at Snowpaw and Tigerkit warmly.

"Two out of the seven!" Dreamcloud laughed, "This one is Snowpaw and this one is Tigerkit." "Honeystar, is Aurorakit here?" Tigerkit asked, jumping up and down.

Honeystar purred at the little kit. "So you already know one of my newest kits do you?" She must be around Aurora's age. Good. He turned his head toward the Nursery entrance. "She and her littermates are inside. I think she'll be excited to see you." She's been giving the whole clan a headache with her mewing to go outside, and yet Snowlily still won't let her. Maybe a new playmate will change all that.

Tigerkit ran in the nursery and squealed, "AURORAKIT! I'm here!"

Aurorakit pricked her ears to the sound of her name being called by a voice she didn't recognize. She turned around to see a she-kit, who smelled like desert and eagles, rush into the nursery. This must be Tigerkit I've heard about. "Hey!!!" She squeaked in total delight as she got off Trilliumkit and ran towards the new visitor. "Great to see you finally." She purred enthusiastically.

"Are you allowed to go outside the nursery yet?" Tigerkit asked.

Snowpaw asked Honeystar, "Are there any apprentices?"

Aurorakit turned towards Snowlily, who was asleep. Autumndawn wasn't here, so there was no problem with her. "Yeah, of course!" she mewed happily. "Come on lets go!" She made a quick dash out of the Nursery. Free! Free at last!

"Aurorakit where're you going?" Petalkit mewed.
"Playing with my new friend." Aurorakit replied as she danced and leaped in the air. So much room, so much light, so much...Snow! She squeaked with excitement as she picked a pawful up, and flung it towards Tigerkit. "Think fast!" she mewed, and started running around the main clearing with joy.

"You little-." Tigerkit squeaked before scooping up a pawful of the wet white stuff. "What is this stuff?" Tigerkit asked aloud before throwing the stuff at Aurorakit.

"It's called 'snow'," Aurorakit mewed joyfully, even though she got hit. "I know that because my mommy's name is Snowlily, and her fur is just like it." Then she began to lie on her back making 'winged-kitties' in the snow.

"Snow fight!" Tigerkit screeched. She threw a snowball at Aurorakit and started trying to make a fort.

"Honeystar, are there any apprentices?" Snowpaw asked again.

Honeystar had been busy watching his daughter play with Tigerkit in the snow that he didn't realize the young Tribe apprentice talking to him. "Oh sorry about that Snowpaw...Yes, Cedarpaw, Frostpaw and Phoenixpaw are probably hanging out in the apprentice den. I'm sure they'll be happy to see you too."

"Thank you." Snowpaw meowed, dipping his had to the WindClan leader. He padded into the apprentices den and meowed, "Hello. My name is Snowpaw. I come from the Tribe of Falling Darkness."

Phoenixpaw turned towards the den entrance. "Snowpaw?!" She mew with excitment. "It's me Phoenixpaw! We haven't seen each other since we were kits remember? Wow, so good to see you again, you've grown a lot! How's Mallowpaw and everyone else in the Tribe?" She walked up to and began sharing tongues with him.

"PHOENIXPAW! HI!" Snowpaw mwed, "Everything's going great. Dreamcloud had her second litter 1 moon ago! The kits are Tigerkit, who came with us, Moonkit, Winterkit, Grasskit, and Sunkit. Magicstar's gonna have her second litter soon, and Iceclaw of IceClan is joining the Tribe!"

"Wow Really?!" Phoenixpaw replied. "That's great! As you can see me, Frostpaw and Cedarpaw have joined WindClan. Our mom Snowlily had her first litter with Honeystar. They're Aurorakit, who I think is playing with Tigerkit right now, Trilliumkit, Mintkit and Petalkit. And Autumndawn, Applefur's daughter, is expecting kits with Mapleheart."

"Really? That's great!" Snowpaw meowed joyfully, "So, whatcha been up to?"

"Oh, been a bit busy being a WindClan apprentice. Applefur is my Mentor, and she's totally awesome!!" She gave a slight purr before continuing. "And what about you?"

"Oh, you know, being an apprentice! And guess who I have as a mentor? SMOKETAIL! She's so awesome and we always do something fun when we train!" SnowPAW meowed.
