Role Play Plot & Background Information:

Background: Many moons ago, there was a drought that plagued the territories. All of the clans were suffering from the lack of water, including the members of Riverclan that usually thrived in year round with their supply of fish from the rivers. Over time, it became warmer and warmer until Thunderclan's territory became engulfed in a massive fire that destroyed their home and devastated the last of their food supplies. For a short period of time, the other clans helped Thunderclan by supplying them with whatever food and herbs they could spare, but as more time passed, the other clans were no longer able to support Thunderclan's needs. In one final effort to save the remaining members of her clan, their leader led them away from the territories to find a new home where they could thrive.

Plot: Not long after Thunderclan fled their territory, Riverclan's members began falling victim to a mysterious illness that they have not seem before. After losing several elders, kits and an apprentice, Streamstar hears a rumor at a gathering about how Thunderclan has left their territory and may have a herb that could save Riverclan from this illness. Now they are facing a badger infestation and they don't have enough healthy warriors to take on both tasks alone. Finally it is announced that Riverclan will set off in search of Thunderclan in hopes of gaining their help in saving Riverclan.

Personality: She is a highly rational warrior with a relatively calm demeanor or personality. Snowstar is sometimes very competitive, but she knows when to draw the line. She is incredibly understanding and compassionate with her clan mates, and those who are close to her. She is naturally very humble with a fierce loyalty to whatever she considers her own or to her friends.
Appearance/Picture: Snowstar is an average size, short haired she-cat. Her pelt is a mottled chocolate color resulting in large chocolate spots that are outlined in a soft cream color. This pattern continues down her back and the majority of her flank, while the remainder of her legs, underbelly, chest and muzzle are white. Her ears are white ticked and she has no tabby markings. Her eyes are a deep blue with a large portion or green intertwining itself within, causing them to come out as a pretty teal color. She has a soft pink nose and long whiskers; as we'll as small paws and a long tail in proportion to her body. Her claws are razor sharp but the sharks teeth were abandoned when she decided to leave Iceclan.

Personality: Swiftstorm is very reserved and suspicious of those whom he isn't familiar with. He is very wary of around outsiders, but he will not show any fear or hesitation outwardly. He is independent though is willing to help others out if need be and is borderline, overly outspoken around his clan mates. Despite the front he prefers to put up around others, those who know him best would say he is very dependable and loyal to those close to him and Thunderclan.
Appearance/Picture: Swiftstorm is a largely built, muscular tom. He is well above average size with a thick, medium-length grey coat covered in slightly darker grey tabby markings, particularly around the face and legs. His eyes are a piercing yellow and his claws are razor sharp. The name come from his natural agility and the color of his pelt which seemed to mimic the color of the cloud before a storm would strike. He is a skilled hunter and fighter but is not known to be the most graceful jumper or climber.

Personality: Roseleaf is a very determined warrior and has a persistence that is not easily matched. If there is something she wants, she will go after it without any hesitation. It takes a while for this feisty she-cat to warm up to others, but once she does her loyalty will not be broken easily. Naturally, she is very timid and quiet around those she doesn't know well or hasn't met before. The only known exception is Bluenose, who she still has trouble speaking to at times when a situation doesn't necessarily demand it. Once Roseleaf is close to someone though, she becomes very open and affectionate. Her biggest flaw is that she hates to be ordered around and being told what to do.
Appearance/Picture: Roseleaf is an average sized, petite, short-haired, she-cat. Her pelt is silky and in general is a light brown, but when she is in the sunlight and it hits it, it will appear to turn red. Her whole body is covered in black and dark brown tabby markings that give her the traditional "wild cat" appearance. Her pelt fades to a soft white around her chest and muzzle and her eyes are a captivating green that tends to draw a lot of extra attention. All of the major features on her face and flank are outlined or accented by her tabby markings givine her a very unique appearance.

Roseleaf:

Swiftstorm stood up and padded off after Ghostfur, pausing for a second to look bac at Lightningstorm, bluenose and Roseleaf before disappearing after the others.

Roseleaf placed the snake back on the ground and nudged Lightningstorm, trying to get her back to her feet. "Come on. We need to get you somewhere safe and dry to rest. Maybe we can make use of this some how too. Even if it is just for prey." Her pelt was finally sitting flat against her flank now and her voice was soft. She wasn't exactly feeling very social at the moment. She picked the snake back up and waited for the she-cat to stand back up so they could get moving.

~Sorry about taking so long to post guys, I've been a little busy the past couple days~

Streamstar nodded to her apprentice. "You can join the hunting patrol, Rushpaw,"She meowed, "I'll actually be joining you. It'll be the perfect oppurtunity to show you the new hunting technique." Now because of the badger infestation, there was the danger that cats could be attacked by a badger while hunting, with their senses concentrated on the river. It made it easy for a badger to sneak up unnoticed. So now Streamstar had come up with a new technique for hunting, involving having a couple cats on the hunting patrol keeping watch for badgers, while the others hunted. Streamstar led the way out of camp, and walked along the river, alert for any signs of nearby badgers.

Lightningstorm stood now, having calmed down enough to stop her shaking. "Right, be careful!" she called to the leaving patrol. With that, she began to limp home with her Clan mates. "Now that I think about it, wouldn't the venom have started to affect me by now? I don't think that one was venomous....thankfully."

"I was just ignored, okay." Redleaf shrugged, running back to get her herbs, then running into camp, sorting herbs.

Cobwebs, comfrey root... I could use some chervil to keep it from getting infected... And goldenrod. She thought, putting the herbs by a nest.

Sunbeam followed Streamstar's patrol, scenting the air for badgers or prey. Suddenly the scent of mouse swept over him. he flicked Streamstar with his tail, pointing it in the direction the scent was coming from.
~Could Sunbeam be one of the cats who looks out for badgers? He isn't a good hunter anyway.~

~Could anyone tell me what's going on? I would post, but I'm not quite too sure what to say

ThunderClan is out setting up borders and Roseleaf and Bluenose are taking Lightningstorm back to camp after she got attacked by a baby anaconda which was killed and thankfully nonvenomous.

Milkypaw followed Ghostfur after his signal. Her steps were clumsy and slow and her eyes were glassy. She was still in shock from watching the snake attack scene. She had been very surprised when she heard the yowl of "Snake!" nearby. Milkypaw was speechless. She began trying to ask a question to Swiftstorm, but nothing came out of her muzzle when she opened it to ask. After a few minutes she swallowed and tried again. "Was......the snake poisonous, Swiftstorm?" Her voice was very quiet and difficult to hear.

and RiverClan cats are waking up and organizing patrols. Some cats are mysteriously sick.

Tanglepaw blinked hard. The apprentices den was empty. Cats were meowing outside. She woke up late! She got up and dashed to Torrentheart. "So so so so so sorry I slept in! I am ready to go train!" She panted. She was so embarrassed.

Personality: Morningsun is playful and intelligent, but she has a short attention span. Hard to frighten, but easily annoyed and anxious. She's wary around strangers but doesn't act with outright hostility unless it's absolutely necessary. She will listen to the orders of her leader and deputy, but will rarely obey the attempts of bossiness by anyone else. Is very protective of her friends and Clan, and can be selfish sometimes.
Appearance/Picture: A calico she-cat with golden-green eyes.

~Everyone who has posted a new character up until this point is acted and can begin roleplaying when they are ready. Ghostfur hurry up and reply already! ~

Echosong woke up as Lilypaw's pawsteps echoed past. The den's walls were mostly rock and every sound made was amplified. She rolled onto her paws and quickly checked on her patients before following her apprentice into the clearing. "Morning everyone," she meowed to the cats sitting out in camp.

Mintpelt felt terrible. She couldn't stop coughing and felt sick to the stomach. Perhaps she needed to visit the Medicine Cat. She couldn't gather the strength to get up. She had a small cold before this, but nothing serious like this. She lied down and tried to ignore it.

Ghostfur led the way back toward the clearing where they had stopped, then pushed past, continuing to where he planned to place the next marker. Eventually they came to a strange outcropping of rocks sticking out of the ground. "How about you set this marker, Swiftstorm. I figure these rocks are a pretty recognizable feature, so it will make finding the border easier." Ghostfur said, flicking his tail at the rocks. "So Milkypaw, while Swiftstorm does that, what can you scent?" Ghostfur said taking the time to test apprentice on her scenting skills, with the added challenge of this unfamiliar place.

As neither Roseleaf nor Lightningstorm were talking, Bluenose had remained quiet during the trip back to camp. "Almost there. We'll take you to the medicine den once we're inside." Bluenose said as the makeshift entrance came into view. He was honestly rather grateful to be back, the entire way back Bluenose had been quite aware of Roseleaf just on the other side of Lightningstorm, though he hoped Lightningstorm hadn't noticed his prickling fur on the way back. Bluenose was glad when they had finally entered the camp. "Okay, Roseleaf, bring Lightningstorm to the medicine den and try to find Redleaf and tell her what happened. I'm pretty sure that bite wasn't poisonous, but only time will tell for certain. I'll report what happened to Snowstar." Bluenose said, padding off to find their leader.

~Milky, we'll just say that Thunderstrike in on the patrol with the others since Bluenose, Lightningstorm and Roseleaf have already made it back to camp?~

Swiftstorm stared up at the large outcrop of rocks. This would certainly be difficult for other patrols to miss... he was finally beginning to get tired between being woken up early for a down border patrol, and having to lay down the first borders all around the newly established territory. His pads had already been warn thin from their journey of leaving their old home and now they were raw and cracked from the mornings treck. Swiftstorm hid his pain well though and refused to limp or let out a wince to betray the burning pain. Quickly, the grey tom left the border marker and padded back to the others as he stopped to wait for Milkypaw's test to conclude.

Roseleaf looked over at Bluenose as he finally spoke, wanting to say a number of things but figuring it wasn't the right time to bring it all up. Her pelt was now covered in dust and her muscles were left exhausted after the adrenaline rush and the tussle she had with the snake. She would love nothing better than to finally eat and rest for the remainder of the afternoon. She looked at Lightningstorm, hoping the she-cat could read her expression. She wasn't quite understanding why everyone was acting so strange today. When Bluenose finally left to report to Snowstar, Roseleaf let lightning pelt over the the entrance of the medicine cats den, hoping that she would have some sort of herb stash prepared by then to help her clan mate with her injuries. She looked around for Redleaf hoping that she would turn up soon.

It was just past sun high in the camp now and Snowstar was busy trying to reinforce the warriors den exteriors with some extra sticks and leaves that they had spent the morning gathering. "This should make it Warner for everyone tonight." She mewed to a nearby warrior.

Bluenose finally saw Snowstar helping with the reinforcing of the warrior's den and padded over to her. While Snowstar had welcomed the refugees of SnowClan, Bluenose had always felt a little nervous whenever he had to talk to her. "Hey, Snowstar. We had a little, ah, incident while on patrol. Nothing serious, but I figured it best to report it anyway." Bluenose added quickly, making sure Snowstar didn't think he was bringing some sort of 'Oh, we need to move again' news. "It turns out that Lightningstorm, Roseleaf, and Thunderstrike had gone out on a hunting patrol, and Lightningstorm had a run-in with a snake. The wound wasn't bad, and I don't think the snake was poisonous, but Roseleaf and I brought Lightningstorm back while Thunderstrike took my place on the border patrol." he reported.

Snowstar sat there looking between Bluenose and the two she-cats huddled outside of the medicine cats den. "How exactly did this happen?" She responded evenly. "Wasn't the point in extra warriors being on each patrol that these things would be more likely to be avoided? What about the border patrol?"

Bluenose began fidgeting as Snowstar questioned him. "Well, I'm not too certain. Ghostfur and I heard a cat call snake, so we followed the sound and found Lightningstorm rolling around with a snake hanging from his foot. And don't worry, the border patrol is fine. They're continuing along, with Thunderstrike replacing me as I said." he replied nervously. "I'm sure you know, um, that it may take time before we can get some of the snakes from our territory." Bluenose said carefully, hoping desperately that he didn't insult his leader by saying that.

Snowstar studied the tom over quickly. "When they return, let Ghostfur I wish to speak with him. In the mean time, perhaps you three should rest. We'll see to in that any winds are treated." She nodded back to Bluenose.

Roseleaf's exhaustion was beginning to sink in was her muscles began to shake. She padded over and dropped the snake she killed in the fresh kill pile and looked at how small the pile still was before deciding she would have to wait longer before she would finally eat again. She looked up at Snowstar and Bluenose talking for a second, wondering how she took the news about the injury before she forced herself to look away.
