Role Play Plot & Background Information:

Background: Many moons ago, there was a drought that plagued the territories. All of the clans were suffering from the lack of water, including the members of Riverclan that usually thrived in year round with their supply of fish from the rivers. Over time, it became warmer and warmer until Thunderclan's territory became engulfed in a massive fire that destroyed their home and devastated the last of their food supplies. For a short period of time, the other clans helped Thunderclan by supplying them with whatever food and herbs they could spare, but as more time passed, the other clans were no longer able to support Thunderclan's needs. In one final effort to save the remaining members of her clan, their leader led them away from the territories to find a new home where they could thrive.

Plot: Not long after Thunderclan fled their territory, Riverclan's members began falling victim to a mysterious illness that they have not seem before. After losing several elders, kits and an apprentice, Streamstar hears a rumor at a gathering about how Thunderclan has left their territory and may have a herb that could save Riverclan from this illness. Now they are facing a badger infestation and they don't have enough healthy warriors to take on both tasks alone. Finally it is announced that Riverclan will set off in search of Thunderclan in hopes of gaining their help in saving Riverclan.

Personality: She is a highly rational warrior with a relatively calm demeanor or personality. Snowstar is sometimes very competitive, but she knows when to draw the line. She is incredibly understanding and compassionate with her clan mates, and those who are close to her. She is naturally very humble with a fierce loyalty to whatever she considers her own or to her friends.
Appearance/Picture: Snowstar is an average size, short haired she-cat. Her pelt is a mottled chocolate color resulting in large chocolate spots that are outlined in a soft cream color. This pattern continues down her back and the majority of her flank, while the remainder of her legs, underbelly, chest and muzzle are white. Her ears are white ticked and she has no tabby markings. Her eyes are a deep blue with a large portion or green intertwining itself within, causing them to come out as a pretty teal color. She has a soft pink nose and long whiskers; as we'll as small paws and a long tail in proportion to her body. Her claws are razor sharp but the sharks teeth were abandoned when she decided to leave Iceclan.

Personality: Swiftstorm is very reserved and suspicious of those whom he isn't familiar with. He is very wary of around outsiders, but he will not show any fear or hesitation outwardly. He is independent though is willing to help others out if need be and is borderline, overly outspoken around his clan mates. Despite the front he prefers to put up around others, those who know him best would say he is very dependable and loyal to those close to him and Thunderclan.
Appearance/Picture: Swiftstorm is a largely built, muscular tom. He is well above average size with a thick, medium-length grey coat covered in slightly darker grey tabby markings, particularly around the face and legs. His eyes are a piercing yellow and his claws are razor sharp. The name come from his natural agility and the color of his pelt which seemed to mimic the color of the cloud before a storm would strike. He is a skilled hunter and fighter but is not known to be the most graceful jumper or climber.

Personality: Roseleaf is a very determined warrior and has a persistence that is not easily matched. If there is something she wants, she will go after it without any hesitation. It takes a while for this feisty she-cat to warm up to others, but once she does her loyalty will not be broken easily. Naturally, she is very timid and quiet around those she doesn't know well or hasn't met before. The only known exception is Bluenose, who she still has trouble speaking to at times when a situation doesn't necessarily demand it. Once Roseleaf is close to someone though, she becomes very open and affectionate. Her biggest flaw is that she hates to be ordered around and being told what to do.
Appearance/Picture: Roseleaf is an average sized, petite, short-haired, she-cat. Her pelt is silky and in general is a light brown, but when she is in the sunlight and it hits it, it will appear to turn red. Her whole body is covered in black and dark brown tabby markings that give her the traditional "wild cat" appearance. Her pelt fades to a soft white around her chest and muzzle and her eyes are a captivating green that tends to draw a lot of extra attention. All of the major features on her face and flank are outlined or accented by her tabby markings givine her a very unique appearance.

Roseleaf:

"Okay, we'll wait by the entrance since we both ate during our patrol." Ghostfur said before turning to head over to the mostly finished entrance, looking back to make sure his brother followed him. Once they were out of earshot of the others, Ghostfur turned to his brother. "Bluenose, I think it's about time you just told her how you feel. If you keep on like how you have been, it won't help anyone. So as a warning, if you don't tell Roseleaf how you feel while you two are collecting brambles, then I will tell her for you. And that would make things more awkward for both of us." Ghostfur said forcefully. Great StarClan, I still can't believe that the cat who always helped me and Hawkfire from clawing each other would be so clueless on how to handle his own relations! Even if he used to be a medicine cat, this is just sad. he added to himself.

Bluenose looked at his brother with shock. "You wouldn't! Would you?" Bluenose asked. "Oh yes I would, and you know it!" Ghostfur replied. "That's unfair! You know I used to be a medicine cat, this is so strange for me. And besides, I don't remember you having an easy time telling Hawkfire how you felt!" Bluenose said, realizing his mistake of mentioning his brother's dead mate a moment too late. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend, I miss her too." Bluenose whispered to his brother. "It's alright, right now let's just focus on you and Roseleaf, okay?" Ghostfur said quietly. No point arguing now, I'll have to make this up to Ghostfur sometime. I guess letting him help with this will have to be payment. Bluenose thought with a sigh as he and his brother waited in silence for Roseleaf to join them.

Roseleaf looked over the pile of fresh kill for something small to eat. After pushing off some of the larger items, she found a small rodent that reminded her a bit of the mice from back home. She picked it up in her jaws and sat down. Placing the animal in front of her she took a few quick bites to replenish some of her energy. Once she was done she licked over her muzzle to make sure she wasn't carrying any scraps. She stood back up and padded over towards the entrance. She dipped her head to the two toms then passed by straight out of the camp.

Flamepaw felt awkward when Ravenpaw settled to close to her, waiting to leave on the patrol. "Rogueblossom, can we leave now?" Flamepaw asked impatiently.

Ravenpaw scooted away from Flamepaw when he realized waves of annoyance and disturbance were coming from her pelt. He clawed at the ground in embarrassment.

As Roseleaf went through the tunnel, Bluenose went after her and Ghostfur took up the rear. He didn't pay much attention to his companions as they walked to the nearest known location for collecting brambles, instead he just padded after them absently. However much he claimed to be over Hawkfire's death, Ghostfur was still hurt when his brother had mentioned her. The two of them had always done everything together, ever since they were kits. And next to Hawkfire, Bluenose was the only other cat who had shared Ghostfur's experience with SnowClan that had been with him until the bitter end. Enough! This won't help Bluenose any, focus on the current task! Ghostfur scolded himself. Once they got to the bramble place, Ghostfur sat down a little ways from Bluenose and Roseleaf and began to keep watch for any snakes or otherwise that may attack them. All the while Ghostfur listened in on his companion's conversation, trying to make sure that Bluenose took this opportunity to tell Roseleaf how he felt.

During the short trip to the bramble place, Bluenose was painfully aware of Ghostfur skulking silently after them, and wished he could ease his brother's pain. He kept silent though, Bluenose knew by now that there was nothing he could say that would satisfy Ghostfur. Once they had arrived and Ghostfur had stalked off a little ways, Bluenose began tearing up the brambles, all the while fully aware that Roseleaf was not far off. "So, how do you feel about the new rules Snowstar put in place?" Bluenose asked tentatively.

Rogueblossom nodded a swift goodbye to Ace as she made her way to the camp entrance, pausing a moment as she watched Ravenpaw bounce over to Flamepaw's side. She called them once before padding out into the rainforest. She stopped a couple of tail-lengths outside of camp and scented the air for any prey nearby that might be slightly familiar. She found nothing, questioning herself about why she would even try this near the camp. She then glanced back, making sure the two apprentices were following.

Flamepaw followed Rogueblossom out of camp. She stood by her mentor's side, scenting the air. Flamepaw glanced behind her. Ravenpaw was there, also scenting the air. "Any signs of prey?" Flamepaw asked Rogueblossom.

Sparrowflight left the new apprentice to her excitement and moved around quietly, trying to find something she could do to help. From the corner of her eye, she noticed Rogueblossom heading out of camp with Flamepaw and Ravenpaw in tow. Swishing her tail, she followed them out quietly, slipping past the entrance of the camp without a sound. Turning, she scrambled her way up a tree, green eyes scanning the area for birds or movement in the trees.

Streamstar was still dazed as the badger lumbered towards her, but she managed to roll sideways to dodge it's next blow. She glanced towards the river as she came up with an idea. "Firestorm!" she shouted, "Help me lure it towards the river! We'll have an advantage there!" She slowly began leading it towards the river, attempting to keep its attention on her.

She looked back at bluenose. "I think they're strict. But I watched Lightningstorm get attacked by that snake and she's one of our most capable warriors. I know why she decided on those rules." She dug away at the ground trying to tear up so brambles. "Why do you ask anyway?"

Hawkwing heard the yowling and turned quickly. His fur was bristled, ears pricked high. Quickly, he darted out the entrance of the camp, nearly colliding with Sunbeam. "Sunbeam! What's going on?!" he mewed frantically, eyes wide.

Flamepaw looked over at Sparrowflight, who had just climbed up a nearby tree. Flamepaw padded over next to the tree and sniffed the air. She caught a Familiar scent. Mouse! The apprentice fell into the hunters' crouch. She stalked forward quietly, her bright ginger pelt not helping camouflage. When she spotted the little brown dormouse, she pounced the mouse squeaked in horror when Flamepaw fell on top of it. The ThunderClan warrior bit into its neck, ending its life. Flamepaw silently thanked StarClan for the mouse, and buried it in the dirt.

Ravenpaw watched as Flamepaw gracefully caught the mouse—killing a mouse wasn't very graceful, Ravenpaw just thought everything Flamepaw did was graceful.

"Oh well, I just wanted to hear your opinion on them." Bluenose mumbled quickly before quickly turning his focus back on the brambles. Bluenose felt so warm under his pelt, he was surprised Roseleaf couldn't feel it. Come on Bluenose, pull yourself together. It's just Roseleaf. he thought to himself. "Also... I was wondering if maybe after we've helped reinforce the camp, that maybe you'd like to go hunting with me? Ghostfur can come along so neither of us meet a snake." Bluenose said nervously. Definitely putting thorns in Ghostfur's nest. Bluenose thought as he waited for Roseleaf to respond.

From where he was, Ghostfur couldn't make out every word that his brother and Roseleaf were saying, but he could easily tell Bluenose was about o burst with how nervous he was. Ghostfur could have moved closer to hear the conversation better, but he did still plan on making sure they didn't get a nasty interruption. Plus his brother really needed to do this on his own. Somehow I think I'll be hearing about this again soon. Bluenose won't let this drop. Ghostfur thought with a slight laugh to himself.

Roseleafs deep reddish brown pelt became fluffed up in embarrassment. There were no breezes down on the forest floor in this place, so it was difficult for her to hide her own embarrassment. "Yeah, sure" she mewed coolly, trying to play off her own embarrassment. "But didn't we already hunt this morning?" She looked down and the ground that lay just before her paws.

Bluenose's pelt fluffed up with embarrassment. Of course she might be hesitant, she hunted earlier! Oh StarClan, I never knew things were so complicated for warriors compared to medicine cats! Bluenose thought as he felt a little bit of nervous panic rising up. Taking a deep breath, he replied as calmly as he could manage, "True, but the clan has been so hungry since we arrived in this rainforest. Maybe we could look for anything that could be useful or dangerous while we're out?"

Ghostfur glanced over at his companions and saw that now they we're both either embarrassed or mad, because they looked like discolored sheep. Neither of them were digging up brambles and both their pelts were fluffed up. Now to see how things work out. This must be how Bluenose felt when Hawkfire and I were together, before she died. This is much easier when you're not actually involved. Ghostfur thought as he watched his companions talk.

The pretty tabby she cat groomed her pelt back into place. ”Right, well Snowstar did mention that we should be keeping an eye out for any useful plants. Maybe we will find some new medicine cat herbs for the clan too.” She need mostly to herself. Shaking her head after a moment she looked over at blue nose with bright green eyes. ” we should myopically drop the brambles of at camp first though.”

"Right, well lets get a few more and bring these back to camp. I'm sure Ghostfur won't mind carrying a few brambles." Bluenose said with a quick lick to flatten his fur. He quickly gathered a few more brambles before signaling his brother over. "We'll bring what we've got back to camp and then we're gonna look for anything the clan could use, and maybe grab some prey to carry back. I want you along to make sure neither of us stumble into a snake like Lightningstorm." Bluenose said before grabbing a bunch of brambles in his mouth.

Looks like the conversation went well. With any luck, Bluenose won't be so jumpy around Roseleaf after today. Ghostfur thought as he picked up some of the brambles and followed his brother back toward the camp. Now we just need a safe territory and a full fresh-kill pile and life can go back to normal. Or at least somewhere close.

Roseleaf scooped up a few brambles into her mouth and bounded after the Toms. She could feel the fleeing in her stomach again. She assumed it was from all of the excitement. Bluenose was finally paying attention to her now. She did her best not to trip over the brambles that dangled from her mouth as she ran after them. I would die of embarrassment... she moved past them and flicked Bluenose with her tall playful add she passed and entered the camp. Roseleaf placed them down near the entrance and turned to wait for them to catch up now.

Bluenose felt like he could run all the way to the old territory and back. He happily followed Roseleaf through the tunnel entrance and set his brambles next to hers, with Ghostfur right behind him. "Sooo, how about we try by the river Ghostfur found? There must be some herbs growing there!" Bluenose said. Feeling like he was going to burst he said, "Bet you I can get there first!" before turning and running through the tunnel into the rainforest.

Ghostfur sighed as his brother dashed off. Great. Bluenose goes from always being either mopey or nervous to now acting like an apprentice. Now I have to run after him to make sure he doesn't get hurt. Ghostfur ran after his brother, secretly glad that his brother was happy enough to be playful. He hadn't seen Bluenose like this since before SnowClan was destroyed. "Just like the good old days he said to himself as he ran through the rainforest after Bluenose.

Sparrowflight's eyes narrowed as she eyed the branches of the trees. She noticed a slight ruffle, and a squirrel jumped out onto a branch in her sights. Her tail lashed and she pressed herself to the branch of the tree she was on, shifting her weight before shooting forward and off the branch she was on. She landed on the same branch and before the small animal could register what had happened she'd hooked it with a claw, tossing it onto the forest floor in front of Ravenpaw.

"Quickly! Kill it and bury it. I need to stay up here to watch for birds and other squirrels." she mewed quickly while the brown animal was still dazed and probably paralyzed from the long drop to the forest floor. The grey and white warrior stalked onto another branch, eyeing the trees once more.

Snowstar looked over as the three cats walked back into camp with more brambles. She simply watched their affairs rather than involving herself. Her blue eyes seemed to betray her own nostalgia as she remembered when it was last her time to frolic around in search of mischief like the younger warriors and apprentices. Her mind wandered back to all of her adventures from the mountains of iceclan to her prolonged stay in Windclan. Pausing for a minute to reflect, she then looked over to Redleaf and Heatherpaw. "I need you two to see if you can contact Starclan. We need to know about any herbs that could help the clan survive here." She mewed.

The tabby she-cat dashed off after him staying on his heels. "That's not fair! I don't know where the river you found on your patrol is!" She responded through her ragged breathing. "I'm no Windclan cat either!" She jumped, running into his side with all her weight. "But I can fight quite well she teased. Her pelt tingled with heat.

Ravenpaw jumped in surprise when the squirrel fell in front of him. When Sparrowflight commanded him to kill it, Ravenpaw quickly grabbed the squirrel in his claws and bit its neck. He dug a hole and dropped the squirrel in it. He reburied the squirrel and continued his search for more prey. Well that wasn't too graceful, he thought.

Sparrowflight jumped, gracefully springing from her branch to one a foot or so away. Her move was silent, save for the light rustling of the leaves on the end of the branch she'd landed on. A finch was her next target, bouncing around blissfully ignorant of the feline prowling it's way. It turned, seeing Sparrowflight and taking off into the air. But the she-cat wasn't about to let it get away that easily. Quickly shifting back onto her haunches, she launched herself into the air and caught the bird in her jaws, giving it a firm but gentle bite. She heard it's neck snap and dropped it down onto the floor near the apprentices and Rogueblossom, leaving one of them to bury it as she leapt onto another branch.

Bluenose fell over into a clump of ferns after Roseleaf shoved him. "I can see that, but so can I!" Bluenose yowled playfully before springing out and bowling Roseleaf over before using his weight to pin her to the ground. "Got you!" he said happily.

Ghostfur watched from the shadows of a large tree, enjoying the sight of his brother being happy for a change. Reminds me of the good old days with Hawkfire, when we first settled in the mountain valley. I may not have her with me, but it's good to see Bluenose happy. Ghostfur thought as a wave of old memories flowed through his mind. He gave Bluenose and Roseleaf a couple more moments of their playing before interrupting. "While I understand how happy you both are right now, lets try to finish our little search before nightfall. We'll check the river and then head straight back to camp." Ghostfur said. He could tell they were already close to the river, he could just barely make it out.

Roseleafs rolled over onto her back and pushed the Tom off using her hind legs. She stood up and shook out her pelt, not worrying too much about the overall neatness. After a soft purr she looked over at Ghostfur sitting off on his own. I wonder what his deal is?... she thought to herself. Her ears were pricked and her muscles tensed in case Bluenose decided he was ready to attack again.

"Oh all right, we're coming." Bluenose said, though he was still too excited to be upset as he let Ghostfur take the lead the rest of the way to the river. Once there Bluenose did manage to go back to his medicine cat training for a bit. "All right, we have little to no idea what we're looking for, so call me over if you find any plants you think we could use." Bluenose said briskly before padding off to sniff at some shrubs growing on the riverbank. His seriosness didn't last long, though. Bluenose looked up and saw Roseleaf over by some plants facing away from him, and noticed that the ground on the other side of her dipped down, though he couldn't see past that. Carefully stalking up he got close enough to pounce and then leaped as high as he could, landing square on Roseleaf's shoulders and sending them both rolling into the small dip in the ground which was filled with blue flowers that smelled vaguely familiar. Bluenose didn't break away from Roseleaf until heard Ghostfur yowl from above them.

"What are you two doing! I recognize that plant you're rolling in! When we were bringing SnowClan by the edge of the rainforest during our journey to the mountain valley, I sent a patrol of some of our warriors into this rainforest to see if we could live here. The warriors came back and said that we wouldn't be able to stay long, the area we were by was marshier than this area, but they brought back a bunch of exotic plants they found, including those flowers! We need to bring what you two haven't crushed back to Redleaf right away!" Ghostfur said harshly to his companions. Though he secretly though that if Roseleaf and Bluenose hadn't been playing they might not have found the flowers. I hope I didn't seem too harsh, but I'm sure once Bluenose realizes what they found he'll understand. I only remembered that flower because what little we gathered before leaving the rainforest had cured my clan from greencough and saved me from some Twoleg poison. This could be exactly what we needed to keep ThunderClan from getting sick. Ghostfur thought to himself as he padded down into the flower patch.
