Role Play Plot & Background Information:

Background: Many moons ago, there was a drought that plagued the territories. All of the clans were suffering from the lack of water, including the members of Riverclan that usually thrived in year round with their supply of fish from the rivers. Over time, it became warmer and warmer until Thunderclan's territory became engulfed in a massive fire that destroyed their home and devastated the last of their food supplies. For a short period of time, the other clans helped Thunderclan by supplying them with whatever food and herbs they could spare, but as more time passed, the other clans were no longer able to support Thunderclan's needs. In one final effort to save the remaining members of her clan, their leader led them away from the territories to find a new home where they could thrive.

Plot: Not long after Thunderclan fled their territory, Riverclan's members began falling victim to a mysterious illness that they have not seem before. After losing several elders, kits and an apprentice, Streamstar hears a rumor at a gathering about how Thunderclan has left their territory and may have a herb that could save Riverclan from this illness. Now they are facing a badger infestation and they don't have enough healthy warriors to take on both tasks alone. Finally it is announced that Riverclan will set off in search of Thunderclan in hopes of gaining their help in saving Riverclan.

Personality: She is a highly rational warrior with a relatively calm demeanor or personality. Snowstar is sometimes very competitive, but she knows when to draw the line. She is incredibly understanding and compassionate with her clan mates, and those who are close to her. She is naturally very humble with a fierce loyalty to whatever she considers her own or to her friends.
Appearance/Picture: Snowstar is an average size, short haired she-cat. Her pelt is a mottled chocolate color resulting in large chocolate spots that are outlined in a soft cream color. This pattern continues down her back and the majority of her flank, while the remainder of her legs, underbelly, chest and muzzle are white. Her ears are white ticked and she has no tabby markings. Her eyes are a deep blue with a large portion or green intertwining itself within, causing them to come out as a pretty teal color. She has a soft pink nose and long whiskers; as we'll as small paws and a long tail in proportion to her body. Her claws are razor sharp but the sharks teeth were abandoned when she decided to leave Iceclan.

Personality: Swiftstorm is very reserved and suspicious of those whom he isn't familiar with. He is very wary of around outsiders, but he will not show any fear or hesitation outwardly. He is independent though is willing to help others out if need be and is borderline, overly outspoken around his clan mates. Despite the front he prefers to put up around others, those who know him best would say he is very dependable and loyal to those close to him and Thunderclan.
Appearance/Picture: Swiftstorm is a largely built, muscular tom. He is well above average size with a thick, medium-length grey coat covered in slightly darker grey tabby markings, particularly around the face and legs. His eyes are a piercing yellow and his claws are razor sharp. The name come from his natural agility and the color of his pelt which seemed to mimic the color of the cloud before a storm would strike. He is a skilled hunter and fighter but is not known to be the most graceful jumper or climber.

Personality: Roseleaf is a very determined warrior and has a persistence that is not easily matched. If there is something she wants, she will go after it without any hesitation. It takes a while for this feisty she-cat to warm up to others, but once she does her loyalty will not be broken easily. Naturally, she is very timid and quiet around those she doesn't know well or hasn't met before. The only known exception is Bluenose, who she still has trouble speaking to at times when a situation doesn't necessarily demand it. Once Roseleaf is close to someone though, she becomes very open and affectionate. Her biggest flaw is that she hates to be ordered around and being told what to do.
Appearance/Picture: Roseleaf is an average sized, petite, short-haired, she-cat. Her pelt is silky and in general is a light brown, but when she is in the sunlight and it hits it, it will appear to turn red. Her whole body is covered in black and dark brown tabby markings that give her the traditional "wild cat" appearance. Her pelt fades to a soft white around her chest and muzzle and her eyes are a captivating green that tends to draw a lot of extra attention. All of the major features on her face and flank are outlined or accented by her tabby markings givine her a very unique appearance.

Roseleaf:

"Good morning Ashfall," Streamstar meowed. As the warrior walked up to her, she could see how tired he was. It was exhausting for the few healthy cats to hunt for the rest of the clan, while searching for herbs, and keeping the badgers away from camp. She knew they couldn't keep this up much longer. "If you're going out hunting, don't go out alone, and make sure you don't go too far from the camp," she warned. Badger attacks were common now, and the farther from camp you were, the more badgers there were. She didn't want any of her clanmates getting killed or seriously injured because a badger attacked them.

Lilypaw woke up and wiped her face with a paw. Rising eagerly, the young she-cat poked her head out of the apprentice den then trotted out, shaking an old reed from her fur. "Hello Streamstar!" she called.

"Yeah," Ashfall agreed absently, glancing out towards the rising sun. "Yeah, okay," he repeated, paying more attention now. "Maybe I'll bring Torrentheart with me. And an apprentice. If that's okay...?" The gray-furred warrior looked at Streamstar inquiringly. Since Torrentheart was deputy, he might have things to discuss with the leader.

Torrentheart poked his head out of the Warriors' Den, his eyes still glazed from recently waking up. A beautiful dawn was up in the sky, and the deputy had been up late caring for the sick cats, yet Torrentheart was up and ready to go. Suppressing a yawn, he padded over to Streamstar and Ashfall, taking a seat next to his leader and in front of the strong warrior. "Good morning," he meowed, dipping his head to them both in respect. While coming over here he vaguely heard his name and 'hunting'. He turned to Ashfall. "Are you ready to go hunting?" he asked, winking.

"All right, now that we're all here let's go. Our new borders won't mark themselves." Ghostfur said as he waived his tail for the patrol to follow him out of the camp. As soon as he stepped out of the camp, Ghostfur felt his paws sink into the muddy ground of the rainforest. "Uck, now I remember why I never brought my group in here! We'll all have webbed feet before long!" Ghostfur said as he led the way toward one of the locations he had chosen for a good border marker. "We'll have to be careful here. I've never actually been this far into the rainforest before, but I've heard stories of snakes big enough to eat a full grown warrior whole!" he warned, mostly to make sure Milkypaw didn't run off and get killed. Ghostfur would not let his leader's apprentice die in the first true border patrol! "So, who wants to make the first marker?" Ghostfur asked as they got to a river with a variety of colorful and unfamiliar plants along it's banks, along with a tree with more roots tangled up than any tree he was familiar with.

Swiftstorm looked around the forest. "You're more than welcome to start us off, Ghostfur. Though I don't see much of a point in actually placing borders in a place like this. The territories are so far from here and I doubt anything else that lives in this forest is going to respect our borders." He argued. "Maybe we should start gathering something to build a barrier around the camp to protect in though." He suggested.

Roseleaf watched as the border patrol left the camp until they were all out of sight. "Where is redleaf...?" She mowed hesitantly, shaking her head and looking around the new camp.

Ghostfur nodded, he understood what Swiftstorm was saying. "True, but over time anything that lives here will eventually begin to respect the borders. Plus even if we don't share a border with any clan, it is important to keep the tradition going. It's part of the warrior code anyway, and I'm sure StarClan will approve." Ghostfur said as he marked the tangled tree roots. "But you are right. Even though we won't be able to carry the supplies during the patrol, we should keep an eye out for supplies we could use to fortify the camp so they can be retrieved later. Now come on, I saw another good place for a border mark when we arrived." Ghostfur said as he started off again.

Bluenose wasn't really worried too much about the borders, there were hardly many cats living in this rainforest. But he did stop frequently as the patrol moved through the new territory, checking various plants to try and find something he may be familiar with. Since he had had time to learn several new healing herbs from his travels with his brother, Bluenose knew that his help would likely be appreciated by Redleaf if he found some herbs to use in place of the ones from the old forest. On top of that, he kept an eye out for anything that may be poisonous.

Swiftstorm was still indifferent towards the subject. He didn't find marking a border all that necessary. He bounded after the others easily making the leaps over mud holes and puddles with nothing more than wet paws. "This place is awfully colorful and there's bound to be several places for dangerous things to hide. And I haven't seem much pretty around here since we found this place. We should probably try and take something back to the clan too right?" He looked around at the others. Something about this new home of their still made him uneasy.

Roseleaf was getting bored in the camp with nothing to do. Eventually she decided she would send herself out on a hunting patrol. But who is available to take with? She looked around trying to pick out the best candidate.

"A hunting patrol? Can I come? " Rushpaw mewed enthusiastically, as he emerged from the apprentice's den.. He was woken up by their voices and was eager to start his first hunting patrol.

Torrentheart laughed and smiled at the apprentice. "Ask your mentor, young one," he meowed wisely, giving him a playful nip on the ear. "It might be dangerous; you should also ask Streamstar," he added, motioning to his leader.

Milkypaw shivered at the thought of encountering a snake. eating entire warriors?.... she thought. Milkypaw trotted after the patrol, looking around at her surroundings. She constantly had to remind herself of the dangers before her curiosity took over. so many colorful plants I've never seen! But they could be poisonous so I'd better watch out she reminded herself. Milkypaw began picking up the sense that Swiftstorm was a little uneasy. "Is something wrong?" She asked Swiftstorm.

Thunderstrike yawned as he finally awoke. The large Tom stretched his out his paws and shook himself off. He quickly and carelessly groomed his pelt and stood up. He noticed Roseleaf looking around, and seemed as of she was in search of something. He carefully stepped over to where Roseleaf was and greeted her. "Good morning. I noticed you were looking around, seemingly in search of something?"

Ghostfur picked the way carefully, he knew from stories that snakes were probably the least of their worries. All the lush undergrowth that was inviting back in the old forest here could be hiding dangerous animals. He even remembered one story about some animals that could make a cat sick just by touching them. Plus, he didn't like that all the bugs here were huge, some even larger than his own paws! Above his head he heard strange and raucous sounds that he believed to be birds, though when he looked up Ghostfur saw that these birds were far more colorful than what he was used to. He was, however, reminded that neither himself nor most of the clan had eaten much since they arrived in this rainforest. "Any cat want to stop and hunt? We'll need our energy since we'll be travelling along all the borders." Ghostfur asked, halting the patrol in a small clearing lined with ferns.

Bluenose could tell Swiftstorm wasn't quite satisfied with Ghostfur's response, but left it to Milkypaw to sort out. He was still busy investigating the plants, but so far the only thing he recognized were cobwebs. He looked up when Ghostfur stopped and suggested hunting. "You're right, we will need the energy. But be careful of what you catch. Try to focus on the birds, I think they're safe to eat. But most frogs and bugs could be poisonous. If you're not sure about a piece of prey, let me have a look." Bluenose said.

Swiftstorm shifted about on his paws, unsure of where to begin. He looked down at Milkypaw, not wanting to say too much and scare her. "There are just a lot of things that can go wrong in a place like this. There are so many new things that could be dangerous. We will have to be even more careful now." He nodded to her before continuing, "Just keep your eyes and ears opens for anything strange." Swiftstorm stopped to examine the tree branches where birds had been gathering. After a few heartbeats of silence, he looked over at Ghostfur, "How exactly are we supposed to hunt in the trees. I'm no Skyclan cat."

~If you remember, I made a note on his character about how he's a great hunter and fighter but isn't as skilled at jumping or climbing.~

Roseleaf looked back at Thunderstike with her deep green eyes. She blinked in confusion for a moment before the toms words had sunk in. "I wasn't looking for anyone in particular. I was just looking to go out on a hunting patrol. The clan hasn't eaten much recently and I was hoping to bring something back for them."

Milkypaw looked up at Swiftstorm, paying close attention. When he finished, Milkypaw nodded in understanding. Milkypaw pricked up her ears, now more alert than before, for any strange or suspicious sounds.I can't let my curiosity get the best of me! I must stay alert at all times in a new, unfamiliar place like this! Milkypaw reminded herself. As curious as Milkypaw was, she knew she couldn't wander off and play with some of the new things she saw that seemed interesting or else there could be negative consequences. She came to a halt when the patrol began looking at the birds landing on the branches above.

Thunderstrikelooked over at Roseleaf, his bright golden eyes were gleaming. "A hunting patrol? Well if you're needing someone to go along with you, I'd be happy to" Thunderstrike stretched out his long, sharp claws once more and retracted them.

Lightningstorm stretched and groomed her fur before padding up to Roseleaf and Thunderstrike. "Hunting? Mind if I join?" Her yellow eyes held a hint of excitement. She hadn't gotten a very good look at the territory yet and she wanted to make sure she figured out at least some of their advantages and disadvantages.

~Should they be crushes of mates?~

Roseleaf looked between the two warriors and nodded her agreement. "So it will be the three of us out hunting for the rest of the clan. Hopefully the border patrol is able to find something also. There are a lot of mouths to feed in Thunderclan." Her eyes were clouded in concern which was played out clearly in the rest of her expression. She paused a moment and looked around the clearing. "We should probably stay close to camp in case there is trouble too..." She stood up and looked at the others before making her way to the camp entrance.

Thunderstrike looked over at Lighteningstorm and nodded as a welcome. Thunderstrike, too, was very concerned about the other cats in the clan as well. He knew that the three of them hunting for the rest of the clan would be exhausting and a challenge. Thunderstrike nodded in agreement to staying close to the clan, and then stood up after Roseleaf
