Shadowstorm's Peril

[I was reading Halt's Peril the book and I came up with this RPG!]

Shadowstorm slid furtively through the undergrowth. He was far away from the clan area in a forest and plain area. He was sent by Icestar to pursue assassins that had nearly infiltrated the ShadowClan camp. Shadowstorm trudged along in the forest. He heard a crack and whirled around. He saw a cat and the world went black.

Shadowstorm had not returned to camp in a week.

[So SAVE ME!!!!!]

[To any clan out there other than shadowclan, you can be the helping clan or the clan that tries...to uh, eat me. No, dragonclaw, you can't eat me again .]

Brightstar paused to touch Hazeldust's shoulder with her tail-tip. "Don't get hurt," she warned with some amusement. "We hardly up the mountain. Don't waste Snowdapple's herbs!" Then the RiverClan leader bounded away to catch up with CheeseStar, herding an excited FireClan apprentice back into the group as she went.

Hazeldust nodded at Brightstar. "I'll be careful," she promised. "Sunfall-Tobi and Cowboy already left to find some wolf pack Honeytongue told them about. They could be coming back now. But if we wait until they're her, it might be a little late." To emphasize her point, the wolverine let out another threatening snarl and the wolf pup yipped in fright.

"Here I go," she muttered under her breath, and darted out of the hiding place (...let's say I was in a hiding place ), and trotted out near the boulders. The wolverine was too preoccupied, trying to swipe at the wolf cub. It's tail was still sticking out of the crack between two boulders, so she crept forwards and raked her claws through it. It yelped in pain and backed out, snarling. Hazeldust could see immediately that it's eyesight was poor, and it was also slow and clumsy. What fun...

Monkeystar had listened to the whole conversation. He had been hiding. He padded forward, eyeing each cat in the little circle, then padded away.

Fiireheart was prepared for this though. He knew it wasn't right but he had no choice, its for his clan!

Shuriken padded around his walled fortress. It was at least 20 degrees warmer in here that out. Shuriken walked the towers and secret passages. He knew of Monkeystar's plan. It didn't include a fight in the castle. Besides, Shadowstorm was simply a decoy. Plus the poison was eating away at him. And they didn't know which of the two poisons were used so they wouldn't know how to heal him without the knowledge. Shuriken anticipated only a short fight in here. It would be him and IceClan alone. ThunderClan and WindClan were not part of the plan. Shuriken closed his eyes. The shark's teeth on his claws glinted dully. Unlike his brother, Shuriken did not enjoy to kill. He did not like Monkeystar. But he had to do what he had to do. Shuriken padded away to his quarters silently.

Lotus-star watched Monkeystar going around, running through the plan with his Warriors. Lotus-star felt sick. She didn't like Monkeystar. She quietly went to the door and slipped out. She needed some air. She walked down the snowy slopes. The blizzard that had came in the other night had weakened to a light snowfall. She shivered and walked through the thick snow. Soon the fortress was out of sight. She went down towards the lower altitudes, barely navigating the twists and turns of the mountain. There was a dark pine forest covered with snow to the left. To the right there was a sheer drop several thousand feet. Was she below the tree line already? She peered off into the forest to the left. There would be good prey to hunt here. Lotus-star's stomach growled. She had not eaten a good meal ever since they came here. She went in to hunt, but was unsuccessful in catching anything. She sighed and sat by the edge of the forest, looking towards the ever present gray sky.

Fireheart was worried. He feared that they may become outnumbered. If they are, what will he or his clanmates do? Will they continue to fight? Will the surrender? No, Thunderclan doesn't go without a fight. Fireheart listened as Monkeystar gave plans to his warriors. What will Fireheart, the Thunderclan deputy have to do in this battle yet to come. He was worried that he had to do something for Monkeystar because he feels as if he may not be successful. Fireheart wondered why he kept thinking negative about this. He is a Thunderclan warrior and will do anything for his clan! At least, he hoped he would do ANYTHING.

Ohh right. You weren't here when Monkeystar gave all the PMs. Right, well since they're coming here's what we do. We go back through the back and hidden entrance and we travel all the way down into the forest. We go and secure the forest. IceClan does their thing up here and hopefully drives them out, and also hopefully dealing some good injuries and losses. The tired ShadowClan riverclan, awesomeclan, and fireclan has to rest for a day or so to tend to injuries and such. trudge back through snow terrain. Sick, injured, and tired, hopefully their numbers become even less. They come back and are too weak to put up much resistance. Monkeystar wins!!! go ThunderClan!

Ok, so those are our plans?! Sounds like a good one! I'm sorry I had doubt in you Monkeystar!

The wolverine was totally annoyed at being scratched from behind (and was already frustrated at not getting at the wolf pup). It let out a fierce snarl, and was about to lunge at Hazeldust to make short work of her, when 'Whomp!' A pine cone-sized stone (followed by an actual pine cone) landed right on the side of its head. Yelping in more pain, it turned to the direction where the thrown projectiles had come from. Ten tail-lengths away, Mangostep was dancing around in place, whooping and banging on a long stick.

"You think that's impressive," the Crab-eating Macaque teased [like Hazeldust, he was having the time of his life]. "You should see my dirt-ball! In your case, it would be an improvement."

Forgetting the cat (and for that matter the wolf pup), the wolverine made a full bounding charge towards the monkey.

Blossomheart watched in amusement as Mangostep teased and taunted the wolverine. The tortoiseshell warrior pounced forward and nipped the wolverine's tail. It whipped around growling furiously. Blossomheart bounded lightly away, leading it toward the fast-approaching shapes of Cowboy, Tobi, and a pack of grey, dog-like animals which she assumed were wolves.

Several hours before Tobi returned...

Tobi went sniffing. He was hungry and so were the Allies. He needed to find a good food source. He went higher up the mountain. "Maybe, hopefully, there would be a nice juicy baby mountain goat," he said to Cowboy. Two dogs could easily take down a young goat. Soon, however, Cowboy strayed away from Tobi. He was onto to something. Tobi went his own way. Now Tobi wasn't the quietest stalker in the forest but he was apparently quiet enough not to disturb a cat. Tobi had been sniffing in the forest and he had come upon a scent. He followed it until through the entire forest until he came up on the other side of the mountain. There, on a gray rock, stood a beautiful grayish blue-ish she-cat. Her fur was lined with white snow. "Uh oh.." said Tobi. "Is that Shuriken's wife or something?"
Tobi decided to lay low to get a better view. The she-cat turned her head to the sky. Suddenly, in one attempt to shake snow off her fur, Tobi saw her face. "It's Lotus-star!" he gasped. Tobi padded forward now, not attempting to make noise. He didn't want to scare her away and alert everyone. "Lotus-star!" cried Tobi. "I'm friendly! Tobi! Please don't run away!!!"

Brightstar sniffed the air. She was hunting with Clan. Brightstar fluffed out her tabby fur, nose twitching. She smelled water. Well, not really....... It was just a clean fresh smell, different then the cold, freezing snow that lined everyone's pelt.

Lotus-star whirled around. She leaped off the rock and hissed. Suddenly she realized it was Tobi. She relaxed just a little. "Tobi?" she demanded. "What are you doing here?"

"Uhhh...." said Tobi. "Well I found you by accident. May I come closer?" Tobi inched forward next to Lotus-star. Tobi's ears drooped and he bowed his head to show he was not aggressive. "How are you doing Lotus-star?" he asked.

"I'm fine," said Lotus-star. She gazed downwards a little. Suddenly she told Tobi: "I don't like Monkeystar. Tobi, what should I do?"

Tobi's stomach rumbled. "Uhhhh..... eat a steak?"

Meanwhile, Cowboy was sitting outside the wolves' den, waiting for Tobi to catch up. He had already caught a half-grown goat. It would fill both dogs' appetites for awhile.

Meanwhile, back at the Abandoned Fortress, the rest of the WindClan cats were growing restless. Sagedapple shivered. WindClan pelts weren't suited to the freezing temperatures and cold snow. Lotus-star had left at sunrise for some time for herself. It was almost sun-fall now, and the sun had started to set. Sagedapple lifted her muzzle sniffing the air. When the sun set, the temperature would drop, and Lotus-star would be in danger of getting green-cough. "Maybe we should try to find her," Sagedapple meowed absently to Owlflight.

"Blossomheart, What are you Doing?!!" Honeytongue yowled in terror as he spotted the AwesomeClan she-cat nipping at the wolveine's tail and luring it away gracefully.

Forgetting his plan (the plan didn't matter now), he leaped from his hiding place, and started pursuing the Wolverine, with Speckleback right behind him.

" You're not getting her, you mangy over-stuffed Weasel! " he thought as his golden-wheat and brown pelt puffed outwards. " I won't lose her, like I did with Lotusmoon! "

Suddenly a flash of gray darted past him as Speckleback pulled out a black egg from the travel bag. With a tremendous pounce, she landed on top of the Wolverine's back. The angry Glutton stopped and turned to face the young apprentice. With incredible speed and precession she smashed the black egg directly on the creature's snout! Red liquid splattered into the wolverine's eyes, and dripped into its open mouth. Honeytongue instantly picked up a highly strong spicy scent.

" Chili pepper juice! With a hint of Curie. Kali has taught her well."

"Tobi, this isn't the time to talk. Will you meet here again tomorrow?" asked Lotus-star. "Come here at the same time," she whispered. Then Lotus-star gracefully leaped off the rock and disappeared into the growing darkness.

Hazeldust had watched in mixed surprise and horror as Speckleback smashed the black object into the wolverine's snout. The pungent smell hit Hazeldust's nose, even though she was several tail-lengths away, and it made her eyes water and her throat constrict.

"What is that?" she mumbled through coughs. The wolverine had disappeared over the hills, howling in pain. Good riddance, she thought. She peered into the crevice between the boulders and saw the pitiful lump of shivering fur. The wolf pup was a dusty brown-grey color, with pointed ears, and it lay on the cold ground, shivering. "Poor thing," Hazeldust murmured. "Do we, uh, pull it out or something?"

"Humph!" cried Tobi. "I didn't even get my steak!" D:

Tobi ran off in search of Cowboy.

~~A night passes~~

Tobi strolled into the Allies' makeshift camp. "Hey!" said Tobi. "Look who we brought!" Tobi showed off the wolf pack, who had came after Tobi and Cowboy told them the cats were friendly. The wolves were lean, as there wasn't a lot of prey. There wasn't many either, but now the attack force had gotten much stronger. "Maybe we'll stand a great chance," said Tobi.

Later, he pulled the Clan Leaders aside. "Guess who I saw yesterday? Lotus-star! She doesn't like Monkeystar. She wants to meet me again today, later in the afternoon."

The mama wolf rushed forward to collect her cub.

With the Wolverine now gone, Honeytongue turned his attentions back to the wolf-pup. He watched as Glacier (Alpha Female, and Druid's mate) pulled it out from between the rocks.

~You know, I'm not good at emotional scenes. Killing scenes are more my thing-Cheesefur and Nightfrost should know. Choking especially. ~

Hazeldust didn't know if the wolves would help them. Yes, they might look a bit more terrifying with wolves on their side, but then again, IceClan cats had been able to kill a tiger with a single blow. That's not good, Hazeldust kept back a groan. This was the first time she felt like she was actually on the losing side-even surrounded by RiverClan, ShadowClan, her own clan, FireClan, and an assortment of loners from an exotic, faraway place.

"Lotus-star?" she heard Tobi tell the leaders something in a low tone. "If she wants to meet with you again, that's probably good. Especially because Shadowstorm himself was in ShadowClan, but she's still willing to talk to you. Maybe we can get a gist of what Monkeystar and Shuriken are planning..." she trailed off, looking thoughtful. At least she knew that Lotus-star hadn't turned completely cold. She didn't like Monkeystar...
