Skyclan's Annual Tree Race (All Clans.)
First topic message reminder :
Running through the trees. Launching, dodging, and fighting. The life as a Skyclan cat is one of the best, and daring. There is only one way to become known in Skyclan, and that is through the Annual Tree Race. Everyone knows about it, from the newborn kits of the clans, to the oldest members of Starclan. It's talked about, and anticipated about. The moons leading up to it are tedious ones for Skyclan. They're preparing the race course, signing cats up, and creating obstacles. This year's course consists of beginning in the trees, traveling down Skyclan's mountain, and into the Twoleg village. Once there, cats will work their way along the rooftops, and back along toward the mountain again. They enter the forest in the pines, just along the border of Shadowclan. The trees are denser, making it harder to weave through the trees, but still possible. Heading back up the mountain, the trees thin out and soon they're racing across the ground. The air is cold up here, making it harder for the cats to breath. It snows, and prey is scarce. As they reach the top of the mountain, the other side is clear. The last stretch of the race is down the other side of the mountain, and back down to Skyclan's camp. This side of the mountain though, is the complete opposite of the winter side. The land is parch, with lesions through it. The mountain itself, turns out to be a volcano, and soon lava is spewing, burning the cat's beautiful pelts. If they make it past here, they'll enter the trees again, where prey is plentiful, and Skyclan's camp is in view. To win the Tree Race is an honor throughout the clans. Will your clan be the one to win? Or will you be like the rest, and lose? Join Skyclan's Annual Tree Race today!
Instead of racing individually, you'll be split up according to your clan. Please use your cat, not a RPG one, thank you.

If you don't feel like being a competitor, you can always work on my team as an ninja. If you decided to be a Ninja, your goal will be to stop a certain team. Each team will have 1-2 Ninjas. You can not be a Ninja for your clan. Ex. I'm Skyclan, which means I can't try to stop Skyclan.
Ninjas will be run by me, the Race Organizer/Main Assassin. If Ninjas have any questions, you may run them by me, but other than that, you may keep to yourself. If you sign up as a Ninja, there is no killing, seriously disabling a cat, or special powers. You're still a regular cat. If you'd like though, you may coat yourself in black.
Race Track Reminder- Start in the trees, at the Skyclan camp, and make way down to twoleg village, then head back up the mountain and into a blizzard, cross the mountain and enter the desert side of the mountain. Make your way down this side, and back into the trees and end up back at Skyclan's camp. About a week's worth of racing.

Personality- Deadly, swift, and skilled. She doesn't talk much, but attacks quickly and then gets out of the way.
Looks(Including Ninja Looks. Ex. Mud covered.)- Before the race started, Hazelstar had the Skyclan medicine cat create a red dye for her pelt. Her paws, and tail are stained red, along with a fake scar along her eye. The rest of her body is her usual majestic white coat.
Special Skills- Being the leader of Skyclan, Hazelstar is the swiftest throughout the trees. She attacks and leaves before her prey even know she was there. She can knock a cat to their paws in seconds. Hazelstar is sure to be an obstacle to look out for!
Two characters are allowed! (1 Ninja and 1 Racer.) Anywho. Enjoy!

Phoenixflare took off like a bullet when Hazel gave the starting signal. She leaped through trees with unimaginable ability, shooting through so fast that the leaves fell off. She kept a steady grip on the branches in case she fell and a hard gaze before her. Her tail streamed behind her, guiding her and helping her keep balanced.
Shadowflare smiled. The ninjas were ready. He padded behind Hazelstar and thought of a plan of how to slow the Dark Forest down. A grin creeped across his face. He had the perfect plan.

"Let's go!" Brightstar set out at a swift running pace. She went off the main trail and instead chose a smaller path that veered diagonally toward the Twoleg village. "Remember to pace yourselves, and spread out a bit. Don't be clumped together." She knew the first instinct of most would be to race off as fast they could go, but going slower at a more steady pace was better for the long run. Brightstar concentrated on the steady rhythm of her paws on the forest floor; she had been careful to not leave any visible tracks. They were nearing the village now.
Neverblue followed Hazelstar, her paws silent on the ground. "Where are we going?"

"Back to the camp," Darkmoon meowed, gesturing after Hazelstar with his tail. He went after the SkyClan leader, glancing back once or twice as the Racers dashed off into the forest. The black-furred tom stared at Neverblue critically for a moment, his dark eyes concealing his emotions. "Want to team up?" He asked finally.

Feye stood next to Mist and eyed the others warily. No good Clan cats. she thought. The smell of all the Clans together was overwhelming. Feye thought she was going to faint. She tried to recall which Clan was which, but it was hard to tell. I need to keep a better eye on them. "Aren't AwesomeClan cats the ones who run around in the clouds eating twoleg stuff?" Feye queried. "They seem a little soft to me." She almost reached out and poked the cheddar colored tabby, but she thought better of it.

~ Wait.. the race started O.O ~
Phantom nudged Feye and hissed," The race started, let's go." She didn't bother to see whether the AwesomeClan leader would follow. It wasn't even her either to start an alliance in the first place. Dark Forest cats had their own reasons to not mix with other Clans. She started off slow - the trees prevented her from speeding - dodging past the annoying trees.
She spotted someone flash past and instinctively dropped into a low crouch, signalling the others to do the same. It was Phoenixflare of SkyClan. She couldn't help but shook her head in disapproval at the young warrior's recklessness.
"RiverClan's racers are there," She mewed softly, her gaze fixed on the Brightstar, who was in the lead. "Shall we have a sneak attack?" She flashed her fangs. "We're allowed to fight aren't we? It's not just the ninjas."
.......
Iceclaw, RiverClan ninja, gathered around Hazelstar and the other ninjas. "We're not working together are we?" She asked with narrowed eyes. "I mean, each of us are after different Clans."

Feye started running and bared her fangs. The pearly whites glinted in the bright sun. "I hope so." She hissed. She raced after the others and tried keeping a steady pace.

~Remember, you are still a cat. You cannot have special abilities or enhanced speed and endurance. That goes to you as much as everyone, Phoenixflare~
CheeseStar ran alongside the Dark Forest racers steadily. Running wasn't her strongest area, but the Dark Forest cats seemed to have some plans. They were also quite fast from their intense training since they didn't have the same problems as the Clans below. CheeseStar thought about Phantom's question. "Well, a little bit of 'accidental' placement couldn't hurt," she responded. "A little fallen tree here, some mud over there..."

"Surprise ambush on one of the warriors?" Phantom suggested with a crafty smile. "Torrentheart maybe. He's a new warrior I heard. Brightstar wouldn't abandon her Clanmates." Noting the strange look on Ms Awesome, she added," We won't kill him."

Feye was not a good climber, but when she saw some of the SKyClan cats darting about in the trees she tried to get up, her claws were short and she used them for killing, not climbing. She thudded to the ground and frowned. She caught Phantom's words and looked at the RiverClan cats and wondered which was Torrentheart. "Do you know who's who?" She asked her leader.

Re: Skyclan's Annual Tree Race (All Clans.)
Brablesky pelted through the trees ahead of the Dark Forest cats. So far he was 3rd. He pushed harder and flew onto each branch. A branch cracked behind him but he was ahead of the falling branch now. Bramblesky leaped down onto the ground and ran. Everything was blurred so he couldn't distinguish the cat beside him.
"Where's Phoenixflare?" Bramblesky growled. He pushed on harder and harder till he passed on cat. His claws slid out and he found himself ahead of Torrentheart.
Bramblesky leaped back into a tree. He triggered a branch to fall. It fell straight infront of
Cheesestar.
"Sorry!" Bramblesky kept on running. He streaked through trees like a cheetah. Soon Bramblesky could see the ancient oak... but it was pretty far away.

Snowliy pelted off at a fast but steady pace immediately after Hazelstar told them to start. There was no way that she would lose this race. All she had to do was get through the twoleg village without being stopped and she may as well be home free for the remainder of the race. Shadowclans murky swamp like territory make physical obsicals of little use when it came to slowing down the chocolate tortoise-shell cat. She bounded past the riverclan cats, her muscles rippling under her pelt in perfect rhythmic sinc. She wasnt interested in matching Phoenixflare and Bramblesky. They will be the ones in trouble here soon anyway. The others arent familiar with living or fighting on the mountainside. I just wont let them get too far out of my sight.

Re: Skyclan's Annual Tree Race (All Clans.)
Bramblesky streaked on. He glanced behind him to see Snowlily. He turned back and swerved out of the way of a tree. And pelted on, his legs not tired yet. He launched into a tree and veered into a high tree. He leaped down that down into a smaller tree. He flew off and landed on the ground. He pushed on.. a cat was in front of him. That must mean I am second! Bramblesky thought with pleasure. Now I just have to keep Snowlily off my tail. Bramblesky glanced back again. Snowlily was a bit farther behind. Phoenixflare was behind Bramblesky by a bit.
"Snowlily," Bramblesky growled and leaped. His leap got him farther to the cat in front of him. He started to pant, his jaws drew open. His breathing got harder.

CheeseStar jumped over the fallen branch, though it did surprise her quite a bit. "SkyClan cats are foolish to start sprinting now," she noted. "They'll get tired really quickly, and that's when everyone will take advantage of them." She knew they couldn't continue that pace forever. They were skilled at navigating and keeping their balance on rocky or steepterrain, but long distance running was WindClan's forte. She turned to Phantom and replied, "Let's have a ninja dig a very deep pit that will trap cats or something. Most cats travel in groups so we'll surely snare a few competitors."

Bramblesky glanced back again. Most cats were streaking and now were too tireed. Bramblesky slowed his pace a little but kept up a good leap here and there.
"Phoenixflare! Slow the pace a bit and get into a tree! We are going to do the tree trick," Bramblesky told Phoenixflare who was beside him. Bramblesky bounded over to a tree and jjumped into it. He kicked a few twigs down and they landed on some Shadowclan cats. He ran farther into the trees near the front of the group of cats. He saw the twoleg terrain then the rocks. He slammed a branch which fell and stopped a few of the Thunderclan cats. He leaped off and dug a small ditch. Running farther ahead he went into a large tree. He kicked some more twigs which plummeted onto Cheesestar. Then he leaped down and started to jog back into second place again. Bramblesky laughed at the faces of the cats that got hit by twigs. Bramblesky started to bound again then slowed again.

Phantom was about to reply when there was a flash of lightning followed by a loud boom of the thunder. Ominous clouds loomed above and soon it started pelting rain down. She grimly joined CheeseStar in digging a makeshift trap, trying to ignore the uncomfortable water on her fur. The rain did help soften the soil so digging was much easier.

Bramblesky groaned as the rain pattered on his fur. He hated it.His fur started to get heavy and it was getting harder to run. Bramblesky trotted under the trees were just a few rain drop fell from the thick dense leaves. Then the leaves thinned and a bucket of water dumped down on him.
"Curse you water!" Bramblesky cursed the rain then jogged back into 3rd place. Riverclan passed and Bramblesky was left behind them. Bramblesky groaned as the cold water seeped into his skin. He fluffed out his fur and started to sprint.
"I thought that it wouldn't rain today," Bramblesky grumbled as it poured down. Most of the cats seemed to slow down except for the Riverclan racers, they just trotted ahead. Bramblesky shook his fur and slowed down.

CheeseStr grinned slightly at the rain. The soil softened under the downpour and they were able to dig at an increased pace. "Do you have connections to any ninja who could dig more? We should go now," she meowed, as the trap they dug was enough to hold one cat. Hopefully the mud would prevent them from climbing out, as the trap wasn't deep enough so the cat couldn't escape.

Re: Skyclan's Annual Tree Race (All Clans.)
Snowlily looked at the sky, surprised at the sudden downpour of rain. She shook the droplets from her pelt and carried on with her pace but sticking more to the cover that the trees provided instead. The mud and softening earth meant little to her as she dealt with it from day to day in her own territory. She jumped from one dry patch of earth and grass to the next in silent ease as her slightly dampened pelt managed to stay mostly dry beneath the shelter the trees provided. How much farther until we made it to the twolegs villiage?

Re: Skyclan's Annual Tree Race (All Clans.)
Morningsun pelted after Snowlily, using her practiced skill of running through mud. The warrior's calico pelt was just another shadow in the forest. The rain slicked the fur down to her sides, but it would also provide an advantage for the racing cats. It was harder for a ninja to be able to track them by scent trail or by hearing them, or seeing them. It blurred the sky. Skillfully avoiding the sticky mud, Morningsun finally drew up behind the ShadowClan deputy.

Re: Skyclan's Annual Tree Race (All Clans.)
Bramblesky bounded farther. He still had lots of energy for sleeping for two days. Bramblesky could hardly distingush the twoleg village. Skyclan cats were leaping through the trees. Mud covered the ground splattering onto Bramblesky's pelt. Soon the rain softened and the clouds departed. Bramblesky stomped swiftly through the mud. They were close to the Shadowclan border. Bramblesky had trained for running through mud but wasn't great at it like the Shadowclan cats. He tried to find spots that didn't have lots of mud. His fur was plastered against him and it got heavier. He trudge on at a comfortable pace. Glancing back he saw the Shadowclan warrior, Morningsun, and the deputy, Snowlily, behind him.

Streamfur had practiced her balance for a while before the race. Riverclan cats usually weren't ones for climbing, but if she managed to get up a tree, Streamfur would be able to run along the branches without falling, and would be out of the way of a lot of obstacles that would slow the other racers down. At the beggining of the race, she ran into the woods until she was out of site of the other racers, and she dug her claws into the bark of a tree, and slowly pulled herself up until she reached a level that had many branches to run across. By now, the other races had passed her, but she ran along the branches hoping to catch up. She ran along a branch of the tree she climbed until it ended and connected to the branch of another tree. She raced along the branches, glad she practiced her balance and she started sprinting until she caught sight of Brightstar below, who was going at a slower pace to conserve her energy. She slowed down to run at her leader's pace. She focused on the branches, moving from tree to tree, while going at the same pace as Brightstar. She called down to Brightstar to let her know she was there. Now it was raining, and the cool raindrops felt refreshing on her pelt. She knew this would slow the other clans down, whose pelts would become heavy with rain.

Re: Skyclan's Annual Tree Race (All Clans.)
Bramblesky pelted away from the group of cats. He flew into a tree and trotted easily along each branch of each tree. He felt some rain still dripping from the sky. He began to streak as a rustling alerted him.
"Streamfur?" Bramblesky looked behind him as he caught the Riverclan deputies scent drifting behind him. The wind was blowing to the back of Bramblesky. He grunted and went faster but still using only some energy.

~ Sorry Chez. ~
Phoenixflare loped across the branches at a continued speed. She glanced up and saw that the sky had become cloudy and little droplets of rain was raining down. She sighed with relief. The trees would shade her a little, but it wouldn't shade her completely. She dug her claws into the branch on the slick branch and peered ahead into the darkness.
