"I wanted to say sorry about Clove..." that was it, Cato narrowed his eyes and plunged his sword straight into Glimmer's heart. She shrieked for a mere second and crumpled. Cato's eyes were already filled with fresh tears as he pulled his sword out of Glimmer.

Rue let out a cry of outrage. "Why did you kill her like that?"

Cato didn't answer, her started furiously slashing trees.

Rue narrowed her eyes. "Katniss?" she asked.

Cato dropped his sword and started pummeling an oak tree with his bare fists.

"What's wrong, Cato?" Rue's voice was barely a whisper.

Cato stopped beating the oak and turned to Rue, panting. Blood dripped heavily from his knunkles. "Nothing." he whispered, picked up his sword and agilely climbed high into the oak he'd been hitting. "I'll keep the first watch." he said.

Rue nodded. "Sure.. I'll go look for more berries... who's left now?" she asked.

"Thresh." Cato replied, staring around the forest.

Rue nodded and disappeared into the trees.

Cato narrowed his eyes in concentration, searching for thresh among the treetops and below on the forest floor.

Katniss awoke to find herself alone and she grumbled "Again with the leaving!" Then she hauled herself to her feet and winced, her wounds still were raw and bleeding. Then she grabbed her pack and heard twigs crunching under someone's feet and with a paniced gasp she launched herself into a tree, scrambling franicly up into the higher branches. The Thresh exploded into the clearing and pulled her screaming to the ground.

Rue heard a scream of pain. She rushed back quickly, only to find Thresh and Katniss struggling to kill each other. "Thresh!" she cried out. She and Thresh had formed an alliance at the start of the game.

Cato came running at the sound of Katniss's screaming. He jumped down from a low tree branch to stand behind Thresh. "release her, NOW." he growled, unsheathing his sword.

"Thresh! They're all my friends! Don't do this!" she pleaded. Thresh's eyes softened at the small girl and he released Katniss. "Sorry," he grunted. "Didn't know."

Cato kept his sword ready and glared at Thresh.

"What now then?" Thresh demanded. "We're the only four left. We can't continue the game like this."

Cato ignored Thresh and stood protectively in front of Katniss.

Rue suddenly had a look of terror in her eyes. The bushes next to them rustled.

Cato snapped his gaze to the bushes, still wary of Thresh.

Suddenly a very familiar figure stepped out. "Clove!" Rue let out a scream. Beside her was a boy from District Six (Random name ... err Will)


~ I brought someone back to life ~

Cato's eyes widened in complete shock. "Clove?!" he said hopefully.

Clove emerged from the bushes with a twisted grin at her brother before swinging the club in her hands onto him. Will joined in, throwing sharp rocks onto the four of them.

Rue let out a shriek. "Cato! Don't go near her!"

Cato quickly blocked the hit with his sword. "C-clove? what're you doing?" he asked.

Clove didn't reply but maniacally swinging her club everywhere. Suddenly, from behind, there were more tributes... Marvel, Foxface, Glimmer, Peeta... all those who had died.

"They're mutts!" Rue screamed, running away.
