WindClan Apprentice Ceremony

~Ceremony officially over. All cats outside of WindClan may now come join in to welcome WindClan's 11 Apprentices!~

"Let all cats old enough to catch prey gather 'round." Honeystar yowled jubilantly in the Leaf-fall morning. "Today it gives me pleasure to welcome 11 new apprentices, who will one day become great WindClan warriors."

As Sagedapple came to touch her nose with his, Wolfpaw was hesitant at first, but noticed Honeystar looking at him. While his body and face showed he was happy, his aqua eyes were hard as jade stones. Not wanting to get in trouble on his first day as an apprentice, Wolfpaw quickly nudged his nose against Sagedapple, then walked off and sat next to Moonpaw.

"You could have at least pretend you were happy to have Sagedapple." Moonpaw whispered.
Wolfpaw was about to make a retort when Sagedapple walked towards him.
"Oh Wolfpaw, thank you for finding us a place to sit." She said cheerfully.

Honeykit smiled as she watched her Litter-mates becoming apprentices. She could hardly wait for her turn.
"Honeykit," her father purred sweetly. "From this day until you become a warrior, you will be known as Honeypaw. Hawktalon will be your Mentor."
Purring [a little too loud maybe] in return, Honeypaw touched noses with the Tortiseshell She-cat, and happily walked off to take a seat. She glanced back to see Lotusflower beaming with joy in her sky blue eyes.

Applefur watched Honeykit and she smiled. "Honeypaw Honeypaw!" She yowled cheering her name happily.

Kitty looked at Moonpaw in wonder, she looked so proud of her litter-mates! I'm glad I have her! together we will become a great team!! She wondered when they should start training.I guess when Applefur and the others start to train all the other apprentices she could join in too!!!! " Moonpaw, when would you like to start training?" she mewed to her apprentice happily. Her body was still shaking from the excitment of being called to become Moonpaw's mentor!I can't let Honeystar down! He will be proud of Moonpaw when I am done with her! she thought exicetly as she waited for Moonpaws reply!

Moonpaw turned to answer Kitty's question. She noticed her mentor seemed to be shaking with excitement and anticipation. Who's the eager Apprentice around here? "Umm...when ever you're ready I guess." she replied, then quickly added. "Perhaps after the Ceremony is over, and when everyone's done congratulating everyone...Oh! And we might as well have something to eat before we train. There are still seven more kits to go, and at this rate, I think it will be mid-morning by the time it's over."

Cranekit watched as everyone was cheering for Wolfpaw and Honeypaw. They all will become excellent warriors someday. I don't really think I have what it takes to be like them. I always thought I'd become a Medicine Cat Apprentice. He turned to look at Fernleaf and Cougarpaw[/moon?] calling out his littermates' new names. Oh well. For now, I'll just wait and try my best to be a good warrior. Then one day become a Great Medicine Cat, maybe. Suddenly a hard poke from Peachkit broke his line of thought.
"Quit day-dreaming will you? Honeystar just called your name three times now!"
Cranekit quickly looked up to see Honeystar looking at him bemused, though his tail swayed to and fro with impatience.
"Hurry-up and go already!" Peachkit raised her whisper to a mew."I still want to become an apprentice today too."
"Peachkit," Lotusflower whispered sternly from behind."sit quietly and stop pressuring Cranekit like that. Your turn will come really soon." Then turning to Cranekit she crooned softly. "Go ahead, your father is waiting. You'll make a fine apprentice, believe me."

Applefur watched Cranekit. Go on little one. Applefur looked into Cranekit's eyes and gave a little nod. Go on you can do it! She thought willing him to go on.

Still embarrassed, but completely re-assured, Cranekit walked up in front of Honeystar. He tried his best to keep his head up high.
"Cranekit, this will be the last time I call you by that name, because from this moment on you will be known as Cranepaw. Snowswirl, you will mentor Cranepaw. Help him to find the confidence and understanding of what it means to be a warrior of WindClan."
Cranepaw touched noses with his mentor, as the entire clan cheered his new name.

Applefur smiled. She was completely thrilled. "Cranepaw! Cranepaw! Cranepaw!"

After everyone stopped cheering for Cranepaw, Peachkit quickly rushed up to take her place in front of Honeystar.
"Peachkit, I didn't call for you yet." Honeystar mrrowed, "but since you're already here and there are other kits who are perhaps just as eager as you are, we'll over-look that this time. From this moment you are now Peachpaw, and Willowstream will be your Mentor. Willowstream, hopefully you will be able to teach Peachpaw to harness her energy in ways that will benefit this clan greatly."
Peachpaw had to muster all her will-power from jumping with joy as she touched nose-to-nose with Willowstream.

Applefur gave a little mrrow of laughter. She is very eager. She thought smiling. "Peachpaw! Peachpaw!" Applefur cheered.

"Flamekit," Honeystar now called to the little brown-stripped ginger tabby. "From this moment on, you will be known as Flamepaw. Even though your father is from another clan, he is a great cat, who will be proud to know, that you may show the same sense of loyalty and devotion for your clan as he does. And to do that I give you none other than Lotusflower as your Mentor."
As the gray she-cat [~with the large ears~] sat next to Flamekit, Honeystar gazed upon her, remembering how he had looked at her the same way for the first time when they met.
"Lotusflower, before me, you were the Leader of WindClan. Then you gave birth to six beautiful kits, who are now six wonderful apprentices. Teach everything you know about looking after a clan to Flamepaw here, and only StarClan knows what that may bring."
As Lotusflower and Flamepaw touched noses, Honeystar could notice Sagedapple with tears in her eyes as she watched her beloved kit, then turning to face Honeystar she seemed to be saying "Thank you" to him. Honeystar gave a slight nod in return, because they both knew that Flamepaw would never had come to be if it hadn't been for Honeystar's decision.

Stormkit smiled as he watched Flamepaw. "Flamepaw! Flamepaw!" He cheered. Stormkit could barely contain himself from running up to Honeystar but he waited patiently.

"Stormkit," Honeystar called to the eldest kit of Applefur's litter. "From this moment on you shall be known as Stormpaw. I shall be your Mentor, and teach you as much as I can from what I've learned in WindClan, and in Lakshmi Valley." As he touched noses with his apprentice, Honeystar could hear the entire cheering a loudly as ever.
If they keep doing that, we're going to end up having a lot of WindClan cats with frogs in their throats.

Stormpaw smiled and lifted his head. He puffed out his chest. He was an apprentice!
He padded over and sat down next to Maplepaw.

"Hey congrats Stormpaw." Maplepaw said excitedly. "Now both of us have the best cats in the clan as mentors."

Boltkit watched his brother envy sparked inside him. Then he realized, Its my turn now! He squirmed in his spot ready and eager for his new name and mentor.

"Boltkit, from this day onward, you shall be called Boltpaw. Blackclaw will be your Mentor. BlackClaw, teach this apprentice everything that you have learned as a fine warrior."

Autumnkit sat patiently next to her sister. She nuzzled her. "I'll be cheering you on Leopardkit." Leopardkit smiled at her. "Thanks Autumnkit. Good Luck." The two sisters nuzzled and licked each other. Autumnkit was so happy!

"Autumnkit, You shall be known as Autumnpaw, until the day comes when you've learned the strength and courage in your paws to become a warrior. Emberstrike will be your Mentor."

Applefur watched her kits. She crying tears of joy. She was so thrilled with her beutiful kits and now it was Leopardkit's turn. Leopardkit was squirming with excitement and she looked as if she was going to jump for joy. Leopardkit was waiting patiently.

"Leopardkit," said Honeystar, with a hint of relief in his now tiring voice. "You maybe the last kit today to be apprenticed, but you certainly not the least. From this day forward, you shall be called Leopardpaw. May StarClan help and guide to become a warrior to be proud and loved by all. Silver, you shall be Leopardpaw's Mentor. The two of you have much in common, and I'm sure you will work together just fine. And that finally concludes what perhaps may have been the biggest and longest Apprentice ceremony in clan history. This will certainly be a day that will be remebered for a long time."

Applefur raced over to her 4 kits. "Congratulations my dears! Im so proud of you!" She cried. Her kits smiled. Applefur licked them and nuzzled them. "Now." Applefur said. "Be good for your mentors and do what they say alright?" Applefur asked them. "Yes mother." Her kits all mumbled. Applefur smiled. "And stay safe little ones. Have I told you I love you?" Stormpaw rolled his eyes smiling. "About a million times mother." Stormpaw replied. Applefur sighed. "Well good luck little ones. May StarClan light your paths." Applefur said nuzzling her kits. They raced away to their new mentors.

YAY! Silver thought I get to mentor an apprentice!
