ShadowClan Apprentice Ceremony

Icestar padded out of her den and onto the highest point on the Tall Rocks.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tall Rocks for a Clan meeting!" Icestar yowled.

Today, ShadowClan would be appointing two kits as apprentices. Icestar gave a small smile, knowing that ShadowClan's strength was returning. These two apprentices would grow up to be fine, strong members of ShadowClan. The breeze ruffled the leaves from the trees as cats began to pad into the clearing, excited for the ceremony.

Bloodkit yawned and then hopped up, excited. She spun around in a circle, then shook her pelt out, making sure it was absolutely perfect. She bounced hyperly, then padded out of the nursery, acting as dignified as she could.

Morningsun glanced up from her fresh-kill. She'd just returned from a hunting patrol, and she'd been hungry. Licking her paws, the tortoiseshell she-cat sat up quickly and glanced up at Icestar as she moved to sit down closer to the warrior's den.

Rogueblossom looked up at the Tall Rocks from the edge of the clearing. Let's see... She looked around. Why would we call a meeting now? Oh! Bloodkit and Tigerkit should be ready to become apprentices by now, but it could be some important announcement. she thought before looking back up at Icestar. ShadowClan is growing. We aren't weak, and we can prove it. Since she could remember, she had dreamed of leading this Clan and watching it grow from the Tall Rocks, but she knows that she couldn't be leader. I wouldn't be able to do lead a Clan... Too much stress for me, she shook the thoughts away and waited for Icestar to continue.

Snow lily padded up towards the Tallrock, as she looked around at all of the other Shadowclan members. This will be a proud day for Shadowclan. she thought to herself as she cleaned the last of her pelt, returning it to its glossy sheen. She spotted Bloodpaw, who had already emerged from the dens, cleaned and prepped for her ceremony, but tigerkit had yet to appear.

Brushing off her tabby pelt, Tigerkit rushed to the clearing. "Hi! Sorry i'm late!" she breathed. The strong kit gazed up at the beatiful Snowlily. Like the deputy, Tigerkit licked her pelt glossy. She padded to Bloodpaw. "Hiya! I'm so exited! How about you?" she mewed.

Rosethorn padded out of her den, and looked at the eager little kits. She had been watching Tigerkit, and hoped for her as an apprentice. She padded over to the kits and smiled, "Are you excited you two? I remember my apprentice ceremony. I was so excited!" She was bouncing around, being her extremely cheerful self.

Almost pouncing on the older cat, Tigerkit jumped in the air excitedly. "YES I AM ! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY!!!!!!" she smiled and suddenly looked nervous. "But i think i ate some butterflies" Tigerkit smiled again. Maybe i'll get to be her apprentice! The soon-to-be-apprentice thought in delight.

Bloodkit smiled excitedly and jumped up and down. "Of course I'm excited! We're finally gonna be apprentices!!" She spun in a circle, then realized she was messing up her fur. She quickly stopped and smoothed her pelt down again, thinking, 'Whoops... I need to calm down! I keep messing up my fur!' She sat down, acting dignified, and lined her paws up perfectly. She put her tail over her paws, and stared up at the Tall Rocks.

Glancing over at Bloodpaw, Tigerkit did the same. It was starting! The ceremony was starting!

"Cats of ShadowClan, we are gathered here today to witness the ceremonies of two very special kits. They have both reached the age of six moons and are ready to be apprenticed. Bloodkit, step forward. From this day forward, until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice will be called Bloodpaw. I ask StarClan to watch over this young apprentice as he learns the ways of your noble code. Snowlily. You are a strong and faithful deputy, and it's time for you to have your first apprentice. May you pass down all you know to Bloodpaw. Tigerkit. You are being called down a different path, a path padded by few. From this day forward, until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice will be called Tigerpaw. Rosethorn will be your mentor, and I call on StarClan to help you heal our cats and connect with our Warrior Ancestors. Rosethorn, may you pass down all you know to your apprentice." Icestar touched the tip of her tail to the new apprentices' shoulders.

Smiling hyper-actively, Tigerpaw heared the cats chant her and Bloodpaw's name. "Were apprentices!!!" exclaimed Tigerpaw. Respectfully, the new apprentice bowed her head to the leader. Turning to Bloodpaw, she asked "When will our training begin, do you think?" Tigerpaw couldnt wait to enter the world of medicine, a very different path than her sister, Birchpaw, had taken as a warrior.

Birchpaw had padded outside the ShadowClan border to hear her sister's ceremony. Suddenly, the wind changed direction nd the riverclan cat hurried away.

Tigerpaw touched noses with Icestar, and happily padded around the clearing. Shaking her fur, Tigerpaw went to go ask to go on patrol. I might see Frostwhisper and Gingerlion! The apprentice thought.

Snowlily nodded proudly as she padded up to Bloodpaw now and touched noses with her before sitting next to her new apprentice.

Padding up to where Snowlily and Bloodpaw sat, Tigerkit mewed "Is there a patrol heading out soon? If so can I go?"

"I think it's up to your own mentor, what you do. You'll become a medicine cat in the future and usually it's the warriors job to payroll the territory." Snowliky responded.

A pang of stupidity ran through Tigerkit. Oh yeah. "Okay. Sorry i forgot" She could feel the burning sensation in her cheeks. 'Well... I'll be going now!" and with that she skipped away

After watching the new apprentice's excitement and embarrassment for a moment she gave a soft purr and nodded as she padded off, assume lay to Rosethorn. Snowlily turned her attention to her own apprentice now. "Are you ready to begin your training?"

Bloodpaw nodded excitedly. "Yeah!" She jumped up and down, then said abruptly, "What are we gonna do first?!" She grinned and spun in a circle.
