Windclan RP

Sparkpaw pricked her ears "Me?" She asked with a sneeze "If so I'd love to. But you're probably just going to baby me until I feel better." She muttered but smiled at the other tom. She felt love flash in her heart For Grasswhisker? she thought and sneezed.

Birdflight buried her prey to get later and continued on her walk, closing her eyes and enjoying the gentle breeze. Out of the blue she could scent another cat. Her eyes flew open and her fur bristled in alarm. Birdflight narrowed her eyes and slowly padded toward the scent of the intruder. She yelped in alarm as a heavy weight hit her straight in the shoulder. She was rolled over onto her back and pinned and there she stared up into the face of a large dark gray tom with yellow eyes and scars around his muzzle. Birdflight kicked the tom off of her causing him to stumble. She flew forward and slashed at his head. The tom snarled and bit into her shoulder. Birdflight screeched in pain and she slammed her paw onto the tom's head. The dark gray tom quickly let go and hissed, his yellow eyes blazing with anger. The dark gray tom moved away and tried to score a back kick. Birdflight quickly rolled into his front paws that were supporting him and the tom crashed to the ground. Without hesitation, she leaped onto the tom and clawed at his open belly. The tom managed to kick her off and the fight continued. "Get out of my territory!" Birdflight hissed narrowing her eyes. The dark gray tom smirked and growled. "No thanks." Birdflight reared onto her hind legs but was unbalanced by the dark gray tom. She fell, the air knocked out her but she quickly got to her paws again just for the tom to claw her ear. She hissed in pain and blood dripped into her eye yet, Birdflight raced forward and tackled the tom to the ground pinning him once more, one paw at his throat. "Get off of my territory and never return." A smile curled onto the tom's muzzle. "I'll leave, but I can't promise to never return." He snarled, leaping to his paws and racing straight off the border. Birdflight hissed in pain and as quick as she could, she limped back to camp to make sure everyone was ok.
(Time for some action! )

Vipers eyes shot open, panic filling her. The smell of blood had been filling her dreams. Sighing she inhaled deeply, trying to calm down. Wait! Blood scent filled her nose. A cat is hurt! Viper shot out of the den.
"Some cat! Get Sagedapple! A cat is hurt!" She cried, hurtling across the camp. Viper nearly slammed into Birdflight. "What happend?!?!?" she cried, staring at her injuried deputy.

Birdflight stumbled back her eyes wide with shock at the sudden appearance of Viper. Birdflight hissed anger blazing in her golden eyes like a wild fire. "I was ambushed by a rather well trained rogue. I believe this isnt the last we'll see of him." She dug her claws into the ground and blinked away blood from her eye. "He has quite a few scars to remember us. Hopefully he doesnt plan on invading but I have a bad feeling about this." She panted and hated feeling so tired. Her mind was buzzing from the fight with the fierce tom and thinking of cats for extra patrols.

"Sure, I'd love to go." He said, stretching his legs. Windystorm turned his head towards Gingerblaze, purring softly. "That didn't take long," He teased, flicking her ear with his tail tip. "Well, that does sound tempting..." He said, trailing off slightly as he glanced at the others. "But how about after the patrols? It's still early and there'll be enough time for a race. Unless you've gotten fatter." He said, prodding her side teasingly. I remember when I had enough time on my paws to race cats all sun down... twice around the whole territory! Laying by the river border, training... Sometimes being followed by Spicepaw. Huh. I haven't even seen him in moons! He thought, but froze mid-prod, his ears shooting up and his amber eyes bright. He whirled around, quickly springing to Birdflight's side. "Are you ok?" He asked, glancing at the wounds on the she-cat's pelt. The fur on his neck prickled slightly. For a rogue to ambush Applefur, one of our most skilled warriors, just like that and do this much damage... Windystorm frowned slightly. He's out of my league. "C'mon, before you bleed to death in camp..." He meowed, pushing the thought away. That patrol would have to wait.

"I don't like just laying Around!" Gingerblaze snapped playfully, batting her brother's face. "Hm, we could go hunting, and race after?" She smiled hopefully. It was fun to do kit-like stuff every once in a while. "Alright!" She agreed with Windystorm. Gingerblaze jumped after Windystorm, her fur standing on end. "That rogue has some nerve! Are you okay?" Worry and gentleness filled her voice. Suddenly, an idea worked its way into her mind. "Windystorm and I can go on a patrol, check the scent, look for other rogue scents, and see if we can find where he--or she--went, so we'll know where they are If we decide to attack. If we take more cats, our scent would be more obvious and we'd be easier to find. Also, we'll disguise our scents with herbs, but it won't last forever. Can we?" Her stealthy plan sounded good. She unsheathed her claws.

Sparkpaw sneezed "What's wrong?" She asked noticing g the bristled fur and glazed eyes. "Well?" She demended with a sneeze "Choose!"

"I'll come too, if it's ok with you two." Viper mewed, dragging her gaze from Birdflight to Gingerblaze. "We don't really know what were fully going up against, so taking three cats would be a wise idea." She chirped, before she looked at Birdflight and mewed, "C'mon, let's get you to Sagedapple! Then we can decide what to do!" she mewed, gently prodding the she-cat. "Do you need to lean on my shoulder or are you all good?" She asked, having to tilt her head slightly since she was so short.

"Stay right where you are!" Sagedapple's sharp, clear voice floated up from where she was racing down the slope. A leaf wrap was clenched in her jaws as the medicine cat came skidding down the rough grass to come to a panting stop beside the patrol. "Don't move," Sagedapple gasped, trying to catch her breath. She'd run like the wind from where she'd been gathering mallow by the stream back to the camp, then turning all the way back to race against time. Mosspaw had taken forever to find her. Sagedapple took a gulp of air before finally moving to examine Birdflight's wounds more closely. From her time as a warrior, she knew a lot about what kind of fighter inflicted what kind of wounds. The scratches were large, not shallow like most large wonds were, but rather deep. The attacker had good control of his moves, his claws most likely long and wide. "Who attacked Bridflight?" Sagedapple meowed, her voice shaking little bit as she unraveled her leaf wrap.

"I'm sorry, but if we were found," Gingerblaze interrupted, "thre cats would be to suspicious. I think we can handle ourselves. Plus, I've done my time as a rogue, I know how they work." She said levelly, her eyes narrowing. Seems like her love for Windystorm is clouding her protection of the clan. Love is stupid like that. It cateracts your eyes from the real world. Sire, she was bitter about love, maybe to bitter. Turning to Sagedapple, she smiled. Sagedapple Is probably the best Medicine cat. Birdflight would be fine in no time. "A rogue--a very skilled one, at that-- attacked her. Windystorm and I are going to spy, if Birdflight approves of my plan."

Birdflight growled. "I'm fine, don't worry about me." She hissed. I hate feeling so weak and helpless! She thought wincing at the burning feeling of her wounds. She turned to see Sagedapple and sighed in relief. "It was a rogue. He was a large dark gray tom with yellow eyes. From all the scars he had on his pelt, he's been in quite a few battles. I have a bad feeling that we wont see the last of him." Birdflight mewed to Sagedapple. She turned to Gingerblaze and gave her a small smile. "It's a great plan but I'm afraid he might still be out there and he might have friends. I don't want you guys getting ambushed. We could have another patrol set up nearby and we can disguise our scent. It can be backup just in case. You never know what could be out there." She mewed. Her head felt like it was spinning and she dug her claws into the ground.

Gingerblaze was surprised at Birdflight's coldness but said nothing. Hm. Doesn't sound familiar. But I can catch him, either way. She was a little irritated her plan was thrown away but still didn't say anything. I know how to do this! "I know Windystorm could definitely flee... He's the fastest cat I've ever seen. Even in WindClan. I know how to handle a rogue," she dug her claws into the ground, "but that's fine. I guess we...might...need back up." Humph. I'll sneak out during the night and check the scents. Gingerblaze showed no emotion. "May Windystorm and I go hunting? We'll be cautious and maybe even find a clue, or something of the sort." Turning to Birdflight, she advised, "Maybe you should rest... But who'll be in charge of the clan? The leader and the Deputy are Injured." A sick idea popped in her head. "What if the cat knows Honeystar's injured, and that you're Deputy, so they attacked you? Then there's no high ranked cats in the clan?"

Birdflight sighed hearing how cold her voice sounded. "I'm sorry Gingerblaze. I just want you to be safe and well, I guess I'm sort of stressed out." She chuckled and gave a pained smile. "You may still do your plan but, there will be a patrol somewhat close just in case. We also need extra border patrols and more then 4 cats on patrols from now on. Gingerblaze, I know you and your brother have a lot to catch up on, I understand, so you two may go alone. Just please watch your backs and stay alert at all times and make sure you disguise your scent. Be safe. As for leading the clan..." She trailed off and she sighed heavily feeling a large weight on her shoulders. First Honeystar is injured, then I myself am injured and now we have dangerous, bloodthirsty rogues by our borders and both the Leader and Deputy are injured! I can't give up though even though I'm injured... but what can I do? "Gingerblaze there is a strong possibility that the rogues have been spying on us, realized that the leader was already injured, and ambushed me." She mewed.

Sagedapple's gray eyes flicked back and forth between the two. "That's a good point, Gingerblaze," she meowed, carefully chewing a marigold flower into pulp. She fell silent for a moment, her eyes on her paws as she dabbed water-soaked moss on Birdflight's wounds. Gingerblaze was a quick-thinker, smart and clever. "If the rogues are targeting the higher-ranked cats, they might for the senior warriors next, or even... me." Sagedapple's claws curled, anger battling fear. Anger won. She clenched her jaw as she bent closer to Birdflight as she applied the poultice, wrinkling her nose at the metallic tang of blood and the rogue's scent. Wait a sec... Sagedapple leaned closer, frowning. "Birdflight!" She blurted out. "I've smelled this rogue before. Faint, but before. I-I..." Sagedapple paused, searching her memory. "I was gathering heather I think. At the bushes around the camp. It was the same smell as the rogue, kind of foresty and musty, like he was living in a cave. But the heather smell was so strong, I just thought it was just coming from the tunnels, or a rabbit hole." Sagedapple winced, turning her gaze back to applying the medicine to Birdflight. "I should've said something...."

"Hi, Sage-" Sparkpaw was cut off by a sneeze "Dapple." she ended what she began. "So, can you tell me why I've been sneezing?" she asked in a snuffly tone. She glanced at Grasswhisker and looked back at the tabby medicine cat.

Birdflight's eyes widened and she smiled her eyes brightening. "Sagedapple your perfectly fine. I think were one step closer to solving this. Possibly, the rogues could be coming into our territory by the tunnels." Birdflight dug her claws into the ground, her eyes blazing with a new intensity. She pricked her ears hearing a sneeze and saw Sparkpaw. "Hopefully that sneezing will stop too." She mewed a small smile on her face.

"Hmm," Gingerblaze narrowed her eyes, deep in thought. "Sagedapple, what's the strongest smelling herb? We'll be needing it..." She sniffed Windystorm. His WindClan scent was strong. Well duh, he grew up here. But I smell like a rogue. We both need our scents completely covered. Her claws kneaded into the ground, impatient to figure out who this cat is. He must be weak, because strong rogues travel alone. Unless, of course, they're trying to eliminate some other group of cats, then they usually break up, if they lose... "Birdflight, who's going to be In charge of the clan, while you and Honeystar are injured? I think I know this rogue's plan. He's trying to eliminate all of the high-ranked cats, so that the 'commoners' will be lost, and defenseless. Obviously he doesn't know much About clans. We need to prepare the clan for battle, just in case. It won't hurt. This rogue is smart, but not smart enough..." She said with a smirk.

Windystorm listened quietly, ears pricked. He grinned slightly at Gingerblaze's praise, but put on a more serious face, flicking his tail. "Whatever it takes to keep the clan safe." He agreed, glancing at Sagedapple. "Uh... Garlic? Right?" He sniffed, glancing back at Gingerblaze. "We'd smell terrible then, though. Easily detectable if the wind carries our scent to the rogues. Plus, there's the tall grass to deal with. Windclan is pretty much pure moor with a few rivers mixed in, but even if we were to stay by the river, the garlic scent would be overpowering and the rogue would eventually smell us or see us. After all, the moors are open. The only way us Windclanners catch prey is by staying very low to the ground, lunging, and chasing prey down. Unless you master the Windclan crouch till then, or use your Moonclan stealth, we'll surely be caught." Windystorm meowed, "We might be able to subdue him though. We have a lot in our favor; the fact that I know the territory like the back of my own paw, Gingerblaze's Moonclan skill, speed, and numbers. Two against one might not be fair, but we need to stop this crowfood-eater before he harms Windclan any longer. We'd bring him back to camp and find out if he's spying for a group. Then, you or Honeystar would decide what to do with 'im. Simple...kind of." He finished, pleased with his strategy.

Sparkpaw was surprised at how much Windystorm had matured since his apprentice-hood. She wondered if she would ever be able to be as good a warrior as some of the other WindClan warriors. Her thoughts were cut off by a sneeze. "Oops." She wanted the sneezing to go away. She thought if she stopped letting herself sneeze, they'd go away.

Sagedapple shook her head, trying not to laugh at Windystorm's suggestion. "I think I can do better than making you two smell like walking garlic cloves." She finished tending to Birdflight, wrapping things back up into her bundle. "You two come back to camp with me, where the lot of my supplies are. Sparkpaw, yu come too, so I can get something for your sneeze." The medicine cat paused as a thought occured to her, and looked at Gingerblaze and her brother. "Stay out of camp while I get the necessary things. The place is overwhelming with WindClan scent. It'd be nice if you guys washed yourselves off in a stream too."

Birdflight nodded listening to Windystorm's plan. "Not bad Windystorm I'm impressed." She whispered flicking her tail. "Everything's good except the garlic." She mewed purring with amusement her eyes shining. Birdflight slowly got to her paws, her muscles screaming in agony and pain. She winced and started padding toward camp the pain increasing with each step. Well, I'm gonna be sore and in pain for the next couple days. She thought with dread, sighing at how weak she felt.

"Wait, Birdflight!" Gingerblaze leaped in front of The tabby she-cat. "I think you really need to appoint someone in charge of the clan, just in case they attack," she didn't mean to sound pushy, but it had to be done. The rogue is aiming for all the cats who could help the 'commoners' win, so they'd be confused and tactic less. So it has to be done. "Not to be pushy, but..."

"Gingerblaze is right." Grasswhisker put in, "If the rogues attack, who will take charge and lead the clan at that time?" He looked at Sparkpaw, and padded over to her. "Do you have a cold?" he asked, "You're sneezing to death!"

Birdflight took a step back alarm and irritation flashing in her golden eyes. She lashed her tail slightly upset. Ugh their right! But I can't think of someone to lead the whole clan at the top of my head! Well not Forestblaze or Gingerblaze. They are both incredibly strong and great warriors but they have just joined WindClan. Maybe Viper or Lightningstorm. They are both loyal warriors but...I'm just not sure. Perhaps, Windystorm. Even though he is a young warrior, he has matured greatly over the last couple weeks. Ever since the journey he has started to show great signs of maturity. I think... Windystorm. I just hope he doesn't let me down. As much as I hate it I'm injured and I think by letting Windystorm lead for a little, he will mature even more into a strong tom.
Concluding her argument in her head, she looked up and blinked for a moment with Gingerblaze standing before her. She sighed and mewed, "As much as I hate it, I'm injured. I'm in no shape to lead." As Birdflight said this she dug her claws into the ground in frustration. "Gingerblaze and Grasswhisker are right. Someone needs to lead this clan in our time of need. That person will be..." She paused for a moment a small smile curling onto her muzzle. "Windystorm. Ever since the journey to get the Grakidea plant, he has matured as well as when he became a warrior. I believe he is a strong and fair leader. Even though he is young I trust that Sagedapple will jump in and help along the way." Birdflight turned toward Sagedapple her eyes shining. "Sagedapple you were once a warrior. You know exactly how this clan runs. I trust you will share your wisdom with Windystorm because I'm sure you'll need it Windy." Birdflight mewed purring with amusement. "Good luck and don't let me down." She finished lifting her head slightly.

Sparkpaw laughed at how the tom was fussing over her like Viper. "I'm fine you!" she giggled "I think the sneezing is going away." she put in and cuffed him playfully over the ear. "How about, after all this commotion has died down, we can go for a walk?" she asked him.
