Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD

The Life-Givers leader is dead. The group is in chaos, each blaming another for their failure in the battle. They are breaking up, each day heralding another empty room, another person's belongings missing. People are leaving, hoping to find a way to exact revenge on the Death-Bringers, to hide from the devastating aftermath of the battle, or simply to escape from the furious accusations hurled from person to person. But still some people remain in their stronghold.

The Death-Bringers are victorious in the battle. Few had died, and almost none of the injuries were fatal. The future seemed bright for the chaos-makers. But barely two days had passed since the war when their scouts got wind of strangers knocking on the Life-Givers' fortress's door. They all wore steel gray cloaks, armed with longbows and knives. Wolves accompanied them, a couple falcons perching on their shoulders. They were dangerous. Strange. Mysterious.

The Hunters tell the Life-Givers that they come from a far land. They had traveled far and wide, and their only response to their questions were that they had to leave their home land. Hoping the Hunters would provide the remaining Life-Givers a way to get their revenge, they offered to provide room and board for the weary travelers for as long as they wished. It as accepted. The longer the Life-Givers stayed around the Hunters, the more they could see the strange differences between the two groups. After all, every Hunter was immortal.

He emits a quiet aura of power, although he hardly smiles, and a smile that contains actual humor is even rarer. Surprisingly strong, he is agile and fast on his feet. Sardonic and cynical, he has a deep vein of dry humor in him despite his outward appearance of seriousness and dangerousness. Around mid-twenties in age.

She is more friendly and trusting then her friends, although she is very observant and can come down harsh when the need arises.

Other: The sword Sala had used was actually Cadence's. It is one of the most valuable swords in the world, made with the best material. Cadence had been in the Life-Bringer's group a decade or so before, but she left mysteriously to join the Hunters. She had accidentally left her precious sword behind, and Sala had taken it up for her own.

Jack glanced at Ryder and grabbbed her shoulder tuning her toward him "When will she tell us?" he said when he looked in her eyes he could see deeper than what she was on the outside and he froze Not now. he thought about Falatheil and if he fell in love with Ryder how mad she would be. he shivered and removed his hand from her shoulder.

(Life Givers)- Mini looked at Jack and raised an eyebrow. "Well, Zephyra should get time to decide on the second in command, right?" she remarked, folding her arms. She walked over to the window and peered out of it. She tried to see if she could find the Hunters. Now that the meeting was over, she wasn't really tired anymore. Weirdly enough, she felt hyper. She sighed as she remembered her sister, faintly. All she knew about her sister was that her name was Destiny and they looked like exact opposites. She frowned.

Kiba crossed his arms, nodding. "Yeah, are you a Life Giver?" He asked, glancing over at Riley. He could easily catch up unless they decided to fly away again.

(Life-Givers)- Jack turned on Mini and said "I asked when she should tell us, but since she's leader I guess she could decide. Anyway I have to finish cleaning out Jackie's room. Goodbye." He turned and left headed for Jackie's room. You know that feeling, when a loved one dies, how you don't want to touch they're things? Jack's feeling that way now. Jack started hearing conversations in his head "Never!" "No, I'll definitely get you this time!" "Your so DUMB!!!!" "Go away Jack." "No!" "AAH!" he shook his head he first heard when they were playing as kids, then that day she made the hole too the caves. Then he remembered Ryder and Falatheil. Then Cassandra. Jack looked at his hand and saw where she had electrocuted him when the found out they had powers.

(Death-Bringers)- Madison set off to find Titus, she had to talk to him. Whenever she did, a flow of kindness flew over her. And she remembered herself before the battle.

"What's a life-giver?" Destiny asked, squinting in confusion. "What do you hunt, anyways?"

~Forest, what do you mean "strongest"? Like physical strength wise?~

Cadence stopped when she saw Ryder's wolf trotting towards her, head cocked to one side. Mercedes approached her, nosed her leg briefly and retreated again. She took several pawsteps back towards the living room, staring at Cadence meaningfully. "Oh! I'm to go back." She snapped her fingers, brining Tenebris's attention to her as she jogged back towards the backyard door. Cadence opened it and ushered the wolves inside before following them back to the living room.

Ryder smiled when Cadence returned. Taking a step towards her, she whispered, "I'm going to tell Zephyra about us and the scouting party. Help me explain everything, okay?" Her confident stare broke for a second when she glanced back at Zephyra.

Kiba thought for a moment, confused now. He didn't know. "A group of people with or without powers that go against the Death Givers. They're pretty nice." He mumbled, "And uh, I dunno..." He sighed, starting to get frustrated again. "Look, ask when you aren't having a concussion. Let's go!" He growled, starting to walk. Bai glanced at Destiny, wagging his tail, and followed Kiba.

Destiny rolled her eyes. He gets irritated so easily. "Alright, alright. Don't need to be a butt about it," She pet Bai and started walking next to him. Bai was much nicer than Kiba. Cuter, too.

Cadence frowned and nodded. "It's a reasonable idea though," she muttered. "None of us have a certain insignia or something that can easily be recognized or identified by the Death-Bringers. But if they get side tracked or captured, that would be whole different story." She took her seat beside Ryder and tossed Mercedes a scrap of dried meat.

Kiba snorted, trying to ignore her. Tch, traitor... He thought, glancing over at Bai, who was smiling and wagging his tail.

Ryder relaxed her shoulders and nodded. "Zephyra is a good leader. I'm sure she'll accept what we have to say. Telling her about our immortality and our past will probably be a bit more shocking, but I think she trusts us enough and we trust her," she murmured.

"Bai's cute," Destiny said to herself, petting the big white dog. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Quickening her pace, Destiny caught up to Kiba. She tried to think of something to say, but nothing came to mind. Awkward...

Kiba glanced over at Destiny. They were close enough to the others. "Yeah... I got him a month before the war." He said, smirking at the dog. Bai padded ahead, his tongue hanging out from his mouth.

"I bet he had to save you, since you couldn't take care of yourself," Destiny commented, a smirk evident on her face. It was almost like she had gotten used to the pain in her head, or she was forgetting it. Her head didn't hurt if she didn't think about it.

Kiba's mouth twitched into a snarl, his pointed canines showing. "I'm stronger than you'll ever be, Blondie. Remember that before you insult me." He growled, annoyed. "Bai was just a puppy back then. He's barely an adult now." Kiba mumbled, clear in his voice that he was fighting back the urge to leave Destiny right where she stood.

"Sorry," Destiny murmured, slowing down so she was behind him. Ugh. You really need to learn to keep your mouth shut. Keep your mouth shut! And this time, actually keep it shut! She thought to herself, and let out a sigh. You always do this! No wonder he got mad. You should apologize. No, just don't say anything.

Kiba shrugged it off, forcing his mouth shut. "It's fine." He muttered, "I... I uh, lose my temper sometimes." A lot. He thought, but quickly ran ahead a bit and tapped Riley's shoulder. "Yo, forgetting someone? I found a girl." He said. "Uh, not like that, but like... y'know. Her name's Destiny and she's hurt. She can't remember anything." Kiba corrected himself quickly. "So, uh, help?"

~Destiny and Kiba are just continuing from where they led off when you were last on, I think. I might be wrong though :O I don't keep up with their posts. I don't think they're doing anything that involves Riley at the moment, but a few pages back I think Olivia said something to her.
Zephyra has to choose a second in command and she's about to talk to Cadence and Ryder about the Hunters, cuz here going to tell her the truth about them. Also, Zephyra doesn't know about the scouting party, so they're gonna break that news to her, too~

Forgetting her promise, Destiny walked over to Kiba. "Aww, but I love you!" She said, with a huge smile that would probably infuriate him. "I don't need help!" Her voice sounded like a snake hiss, glaring at him.

Kiba blushed furiously, surprised. Now his face was red to match the paint "What the heck...?" He said, growling. She was messing with him. Kiba smirked, the blush fading from his face. He would play her game. "I know... but I'm worried." He put on a look of concern, his brow furrowing. Bai snorted, confused. His master's face portrayed a different emotion than he felt. Kiba forced back a grin. He wanted to see how long she'd play before she gave up. The look on her face would be priceless.

Riley beckoned to Olivia silently as she moved out, weaving expertly through the dark undergrowth. She could faintly hear Violet screeching overhead.

Violet let out a cry of excitement. A hunt! Her leader hadn't let her hunt for days. She tilted her head to see her quarry, the yellow-feathered NoWing. With strong beats of her wings, she reached the NoWing andclawed at her head, feeling her talons scrape into the hair-feathers.

Eclipse snorted softly, seeing the falcon's excitement. It was contagious though, and she couldn't hold back her woof of exhiliration as she bounded easily through the trees, following the scent.

Zephyra nodded at Ryder to continue. "You were saying...?"

Destiny stood there for a second, dumbfounded. Narrowing her eyes in suspicion, she knew something wasn't right. Especially as he smirked at her. Oh, I get it. He's trying to play along. "Aww you're so sweet!" She said, wrapping her arms around him in a hug because when she had touched his hair he had said 'close enough, Blondie' so this would probably have some effect of the sort. Imitating his smirk, she pulled away from him.
