First topic message reminder :

The Life-Givers leader is dead. The group is in chaos, each blaming another for their failure in the battle. They are breaking up, each day heralding another empty room, another person's belongings missing. People are leaving, hoping to find a way to exact revenge on the Death-Bringers, to hide from the devastating aftermath of the battle, or simply to escape from the furious accusations hurled from person to person. But still some people remain in their stronghold.

The Death-Bringers are victorious in the battle. Few had died, and almost none of the injuries were fatal. The future seemed bright for the chaos-makers. But barely two days had passed since the war when their scouts got wind of strangers knocking on the Life-Givers' fortress's door. They all wore steel gray cloaks, armed with longbows and knives. Wolves accompanied them, a couple falcons perching on their shoulders. They were dangerous. Strange. Mysterious.

The Hunters tell the Life-Givers that they come from a far land. They had traveled far and wide, and their only response to their questions were that they had to leave their home land. Hoping the Hunters would provide the remaining Life-Givers a way to get their revenge, they offered to provide room and board for the weary travelers for as long as they wished. It as accepted. The longer the Life-Givers stayed around the Hunters, the more they could see the strange differences between the two groups. After all, every Hunter was immortal.

The sun was setting over the mountains, the dying rays of sunlight flooding the fortress, seeping like honey through the open windows. It was chilly, but the sunlight provided the bit of warmth to warm the large building. The Hunters stood in the living room, their wolves casually circling the two groups. The remaining Life-Givers faced the strangers they had welcomed into their home, wary.

After the hour of lengthy explanations, the two groups stood awkwardly, still wary with each other. Finally deciding to break the thick tension that had sprung up between them, Cadence looked at the Life-Givers with interest. "You mean there were much more people here before?" "Yes. They went away after the war with the Death-Bringers," a girl explained, fidgeting nervously with the knife sheathed in her belt. "Some of those who left had strong powers," a young boy said wistfully. "We're weaker now."

Cadence smiled and laughed. Her fellow Hunters eyed her oddly, but Cadence liked these people. "Some of us have powers too. Not many of us have magic in our blood, but those who do are extremely powerful. I have a power myself." She paused and added, "One of the us back in our home land could even bring back the dead."

Username: Brightstar
Name: Halt
Gender: male
Group: Death-Bringers
Rank: Leader
Description: lean, surprisingly short boy with long-ish black hair. His eyes are slate gray, unwavering and steady. He emits a quiet aura of power, although he hardly smiles, and a smile that contains actual humor is even rarer. Surprisingly strong, he is agile and fast on his feet. Sardonic and cynical, he has a deep vein of dry humor in him despite his outward appearance of seriousness and dangerousness. Around mid-twenties in age.
Primary Power: Never miss a target
Other: Halt is well-respected and has a dangerous and fearful reputation. He is a master stragetist, although he is indefinitely impatient. He constantly carries a massive longbow with a ninety-pound draw weight, and two knives.

Username: Brightstar
Name: Cadence Dayne
Gender: female
Group: Hunters
Rank: Deputy
Description: tall, athletic girl with dark green eyes and long, glossy black hair and skin that looks tanned year-round. She is strong from her intense training with her fellow Hunters; skilled in the art of archery and a well-known expert with the sword. She is more friendly and trusting then her friends, although she is very observant and can come down harsh when the need arises.
Primary Power: Power negation/augmentation: the ability to cancel or strengthen/weaken others powers
Other: The sword Sala had used was actually Cadence's. It is one of the most valuable swords in the world, made with the best material. Cadence had been in the Life-Bringer's group a decade or so before, but she left mysteriously to join the Hunters. She had accidentally left her precious sword behind, and Sala had taken it up for her own.

Kiba slid off with Bai in his arms, landing safely on his feet. He put down his dog and stretched, his anger forgotten. Now he was excited. "Where we going?" He asked, coming up behind the girls with a grin. Bai wagged his tail.

(Hunters) Riley quickly flew across the swirling river before she lost control. She landed, talons hooking into the riverbank, and dumped Kiba and Bai onto the ground, then morphed back and snickered at them, jokingly. Then she noticed Olivia was looking at something. "A coin?" she said, walking over. "That's... unusual." Something was off, strange, about the coin, but Riley couldn't place it. "Does it feel like the coin is somehow... weird to you?"

Kiba cried out, his eyes wide as he looked back to see a blonde girl clinging to his back. "Wha-?" He cried, quickly jumping up on his fours. Bai looked, dumbfounded as he tried to sniff Destiny, pacing around the two. "Who is this?" Kiba growled, trying desperately to look all the way up at Destiny's face. He was turning around in circles with the girl on his back, frustrated, just like a dog that was trying to see its own nose.

"Hahaha! I'm Destiny!" She replied brightly, jumping off of Kiba's back. "Woah what's on your face?" Destiny eyed the red fangs, confusion evident by the expression on her face. "Whatever they are, they're pretty darn cool! Well I should be going.."

Kiba snarled, annoyed. He stared at Destiny's face, scanning for any weaknesses. The girl looked harmless though. "Wait, wait! So you can come up and jump on me and then run away like it's fine? Who do you think you are, blondie?" Kiba growled, standing and brushing off his clothes. "This is war paint. All of my family used to wear them after the war." Before they died with their dogs... He thought bitterly.

"I think I'm Destiny...? I was just trying to see that birdie," she pointed at Riley, "and you were in the way because you're tall!" Destiny giggled, a huge smiling brightening up her somewhat pale face. "War paint? You were in a war? I'm so sorry!" Her smile turned upside down, into a frown.

Kiba scowled, looking grumpy. He sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets with a grunt. "Don't be, you have nothing to do with it, blondie." Kiba growled."I wasn't, my parents and brothers were." His voice went down to a mutter, not wanting to go into detail. He was held back from the war with Bai for being weak. When the war ended and the news of his family's and their companions' death reached him, Kiba had trained half to death to achieve the speed and power he had now. He joined the Hunters and became immortal to avenge his family. The Death Bringers had killed them.

Riley scowled down at the blonde. "Who's this?" At the same time she racked her brains for a way to get away from her. I hope she's not a Death Bringer.

"Oh.. okay.." Destiny said, putting a fake smile on her face. "Bye," she said coldly, walking away. Quickly and swiftly, she climbed up a tree, watching them with narrowed eyes. For some reason, they didn't seem quite normal. But, as usual, she couldn't put her finger on it. Well, he wasn't very nice, she thought to herself. She laid down on the tree, yawning and curling up.

~Why'd I type "scowled down"? O.o Destiny's probably taller Razz~

Riley watched the blonde girl walk away, then turned to face the other Hunters when Destiny started climbing the tree. She knew Destiny hadn't really gone away. Riley had that sort of sixth sense, so she could somehow feel when she was being watched. It probably came from the shape-shifting, she thought. "She's still there," she said in a low voice. "We'll have to take a more confusing route..." Riley quietly opened the map and held it close to her body so no one could see it. Her eyes traveled over the map, searching for an alternate route.

Riley shrugged. "Sure..." Then her eyes lit up as Olivia's words gave her an idea. "We could use the wolves and falcons as a distraction! Have them chase her in the opposite direction or something while we run!" She nodded toward Olivia and Kiba as she folded the map and slipped it in her pocket. "What do you think?"

Kiba's scowl melted away into a sad frown, his eyes staring at his feet. He pulled his furry hoodie over his head. The hoodie had bushy fur on the edges, so it made him look like he had a mane. It was the perfect thing for him, really. "Ok, what now?" He said, trying to seem angry to hide his sadness. Bai's tail stopped wagging and he sniffed Kiba's leg, unfamiliar with his owner's emotions. He'd never really been sad before for a long time. "Do whatever you want. She's harmless. I can tell." He snorted.

Destiny turned, finally asleep, though she hadn't been meaning to, and fell off the tree with a THUD! The breath knocked out of her, and probably a concussion, she slowly stood up. Everything was going in circles she was so dizzy, until she saw the people she had been talking to earlier. Even though she couldn't see where she was going, Destiny ran and ran, surprised she hadn't ran into a tree yet.

Kiba's eyes glanced back to the tree, spotting Destiny running wildly through the forest. He groaned, closing his eyes. He couldn't just let her stay like that... lost and stupid. "I'll be right back... Nature calls." He said, grinning to try and fool the others. His smile was forced though, easily seen by his clenched fangs. he signalled to Bai and he followed as Kiba walked into the forest, using his incredible sense of smell and hearing to track the girl.

Ike waited, pacing. He groaned, frustrated and bored. "When is something fun going to happen around here?" He snorted, leaning back against a wall.

Chrysler glanced over at Ike, staying quiet.

Once Destiny was sure she was out of earshot of the others, she sat down, grasping her head in her hands as if that would stop the pain. She leaned her head against the tree, groaning in pain. Her eyelids started to droop and she couldn't open them again as she finally got knocked out. Destiny tried to fight the overcoming darkness, but she knew it was worthless; she was like a lamb... no defense whatsoever.

Kiba stiffened, spotting a flash of yellow. Well, found blondie. He thought, walking calmly towards the unconscious girl. He crouched down and leaned in close, scanning her face. "Yo, you dead yet?" He asked, squinting, but realized that she was too 'out' to reply. Sighing, he picked her up, noticing a bleeding wound on the side of her head. "Her brains have finally exploded... wonderful."

Cadence wrinkled her nose at Ike. "Maybe you should go train," she suggested, laughing at his obvious disgust at the lack of anything to do. "Or take a run through the garden." Shrugging her shoulders, she handed the box over to Ryder and tugged a jacket over her shoulders. "I'm going out for some fresh air." Cadence beckoned to Tenebris and headed out the back door, carefully shutting it behind her.

He quickly fixed that, however, assuming his usual expression; expressionless. "Your brains probably blew up. About time too." He shrugged, and Bai began to try and sniff the wound, jumping up. Destiny was going to say, "What brain?" but she, reluctantly, obeyed him, narrowing her eyes at him. Just to annoy him, she smiled even bigger, but it looked like a drunken smile... of course, she couldn't see it, but that's what she was guessing it looked like. "Are we going whe-?" she started to say before cutting herself off and covering her hand with her mouth. She smiled sheepishly but couldn't keep herself from giggling.
