Shadowstorm's Rescue

The basic story outline so far....

Shadowstorm is captured and poisoned by Monkeystar. IceClan is allianced with ThunderClan. Monkeystar moves Shadowstorm to IceClan fortress. The remaining Clans are in distress. RiverClan, ShadowClan, AwesomeClan, and FireClan join up to save Shadowstorm. Monkeystar's plot is revealed! He wants to take over the entire forest and is starting by using poor Shadowstorm as a decoy. As Shadowstorm gets weaker and weaker, the Clans combine and prepare for rescue. A strange group of cats and animals arrives from a Distant Land. The RiverClan, AwesomeClan, ShadowClan, and FireClan alliance plans a daring rescue with the welcome strangers. The Allied Clans travel up the mountain. Meanwhile, WindClan has apparently allied with IceClan and ThunderClan! Lotus-star regrets her decision and does not like how Monkeystar is pushing her. She meets with Tobi the dog from ShadowClan and is planning to see him again. Meanwhile, the "good side" recruits wolves and other animals along the way to defeat the battle hardened IceClan members. What will happen in this final episode? Will Shadowstorm be saved? What will Lotus-star ultimately choose? Will the forest become under the rule of Monkeystar or will he be brought to justice? It begins here!

Brightstar stopped and tasted the air. "You're right, Hazeldust," she meowed approvingly. "Rabbit... squirrel...." Brightstar padded over to the a frozen river. Shaking her head, she meowed, "Pity the ice is too thick to break. I could do with a fish. And water voles don't seem to live here," she added.

Blossomheart raced after the patrol. "I want to come too!" she declared. "And I'll go hunt right now. I'm hungry." Blossomheart bounded into the pine forest, blending into the snow and dappling shadows.

"Mmm, I can always go for a squirrel." Honeytongue licked his lips. "These pine trees are probably home to a couple dozen of little red squirrels. But they're more like a morsel compared to some of the squirrels I've hunted in Lakshmi Valley. The black giants for example are so big it takes two cats to hunt one."
And with that, he began climbing up a nearby tree and went hunting from the canopy.

Blizzard appeared at the bottom of Honeytongue's tree. "I can't see why cats have to pretend to be like birds," he sniffed and prowled away. He could smell deer, and Blizzard was hungry.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, Lotus-star sat waiting. She shivered. It was colder and the snow picked up. Suddenly she knew she would be followed. There were cats coming! She peered into the dark pine trees. Where was Tobi?

"Let's go guys," said Tobi. "I don't see a lot of prey here. It's getting really snowy and blizzardry. Prey will be hiding. Let's go see Lotus-star or the storm will force us to turn back or worse, strand us here."

Hazeldust nodded at Tobi. "We can see Lotus-star first. We can hunt on the way back, probably. The snow might let off for a while, or at least the wind could die down-and Lotus-star might leave, thinking Tobi isn't coming!" Hazeldust started to hop around in anxiety.

For some reason, she always got hyper and jittery when she was nervous. And then that usually made other people edgy and ticked off.

Suddenly, they heard someone approaching. It was Crystaldance! She was breathless. "Sorry," she panted. "I wanted to catch up. I have no idea what Lotus-star's condition might be. She might be hungry. I doubt she's got anything to eat."

"Great," said Tobi. "We're almost there. Lucky the storm hasn't completely covered our tracks. But that might change," thought Tobi as the snow came down in showers now. Tobi went forward with the cats, his nose in the lead. "Aha!" cried Tobi. "My scent marker from yesterday. Thank goodness for water huh?" he said, winking at Hazeldust (I got your name right ). From there they could see the the edge of the forest and the sheer drop beyond. There was a little trail just out of the forest that led higher up the mountain. There was no sign of Lotus-star (she's hidden - look in previous posts).

Lotus-star heard Tobi's arrival. No matter how hard he tried, he was a big fluffy dog and he made a lot of noise. She didn't hear anyone else and the wind blew into the forest. Lotus-star emerged from her hiding place. "Tobi!" she whispered. "Over here!"

"Stay here guys," warned Tobi. Then Tobi ran forward to meet Lotus-star. He saw the shecat's graceful form and slender, curved body. WindClan cats always looked so curvy. "Hello!" he said cheerfully. "I'm ready to hear and listen!"

Lotus-star told Tobi her story. "Monkeystar bribed me. He said he would give me (freshkill? [WP]). Plus, he said he would attack WindClan if we didn't go. I was forced, but what could I do? I had to protect my clan. But I don't want to ally with him. I don't like him and I am for your cause," said Lotus-star. "If having a spy is what it takes, I will use my life to help you defeat Monkeystar!"

~...Curvy? ~

Hazeldust's ears pricked up at Lotus-star's last statement. Okay, her ears had pricked up the moment she said "Monkeystar bribed me" but at the last exclamation, she was afraid her ears would poke up over the little hill of snow she was hiding behind. Hastily trying to flatten her ears, she tried to think of all the things they would have to know.

Weak spots in the gaurds...who isn't great fighters...who's sick...good hiding places in the fortress...were Shadowstorm is located...all entrances in and out of the fortress...the times the patrols/guards switch...which cats can easily be fooled...if any cats ever go to visit Shadowstorm...Monkeystar's battle plan...warriors who would be fighting if a battle broke out... Hazeldust's mind was reeling with things they would have to know.

Fireheart was once again amused by her actions. He wasn't sure how she can know and remember all these herbs and tricks for caring them for other Medicine Cats! "That's smart of you! But I am not calling you dumb, I'm just surprised." Fireheart replied.

The AwesomeClan leader had stayed behind to watch over the rest of the members. We need to be prepared for whatever is next from the Thunder-Ice-Wind alliance she thought. They needed to restock on everything, including herbs and fresh-kill. The patrol was taking a while. The snow was falling again, but now it was heavier. CheeseStar hoped that the cats would come back unharmed.

~Okay, summary: So, we're on the move, traveling towards the fortress. We were planning to send one team as the main force to attack and distract, one team to scout ahead and stuff, one team to sneak in and find and rescue Shadowstorm, and one team to be backup. But, on the move, Tobi met Lotus-star, who doesn't like Monkeystar and wants to help us. So, Tobi, me, Brightstar, Honeytongue, Blossomheart, and Blizzard (I think) are off to meet her again, and gain some information so we'll have a better chance to stand against IceClan and ThunderClan, who apparently also want to reinforce their claws with shark teeth. And I know as a scientific fact that shark teeth are as hard as steel, which isn't good. Okay this is long.~

Tell her that we're here, Hazeldust tried to send a mental message to Tobi. Maybe she can get WindClan to stall ThunderClan and IceClan when we get there...

Laying next to Hazeldust behind the snow hill, Honeytongue tried to listen in on Lotus-star talking to Tobi. Although he could not pick-up every word she was saying, her tone was clear enough for him to understand.

Sagedapple purred in amusement. "If you had Heatherpelt for a mentor, then you'd remember your training, warrior or not!" Sagedapple waved her tail. "Let's go, Fireheart!"

For some reason, Fireheart felt insulted but followed Sagedapple from behind. He wouldn't let her show him up, he knows the training better than her or at least, he thinks he does.

~Wha--? Now I'm confused.~

Sagedapple padded along the tree-line, tasting the air for herbs. "Do you smell anything green?" Sagedapple asked. "I can't."

Fireheart sniffs the air. "I don't think I smell anything at all, but lets keep going ahead."

~YES, WE ARE STALKERS! Hahaha, no, we were just looking for herbs for our clans. But who knows, maybe we will run into you! O.o~

Sagedapple nosed under a bramble. "Perhaps, the brambles cover any frost and snow from the herbs growing underneath," she meowed thoughtfully.

Sagedapple did have a point there. "You could be right, so how will we search? Should we keep going down or..?"
