Solved Shadowstorm's Rescue

Post by Honeystar July 20th 2011, 20:59

First topic message reminder :

Edit by Dragonclaw:

The basic story outline so far....

Shadowstorm is captured and poisoned by Monkeystar. IceClan is allianced with ThunderClan. Monkeystar moves Shadowstorm to IceClan fortress. The remaining Clans are in distress. RiverClan, ShadowClan, AwesomeClan, and FireClan join up to save Shadowstorm. Monkeystar's plot is revealed! He wants to take over the entire forest and is starting by using poor Shadowstorm as a decoy. As Shadowstorm gets weaker and weaker, the Clans combine and prepare for rescue. A strange group of cats and animals arrives from a Distant Land. The RiverClan, AwesomeClan, ShadowClan, and FireClan alliance plans a daring rescue with the welcome strangers. The Allied Clans travel up the mountain. Meanwhile, WindClan has apparently allied with IceClan and ThunderClan! Lotus-star regrets her decision and does not like how Monkeystar is pushing her. She meets with Tobi the dog from ShadowClan and is planning to see him again. Meanwhile, the "good side" recruits wolves and other animals along the way to defeat the battle hardened IceClan members. What will happen in this final episode? Will Shadowstorm be saved? What will Lotus-star ultimately choose? Will the forest become under the rule of Monkeystar or will he be brought to justice? It begins here!

Hazeldust felt a little doubtful. "Are you sure it'll be safe enough? Also, ThunderClan and IceClan are staying in a stone fortress-the snow might not hurt them much. Maybe if we can lure them outside, then cause the avalanche," she mused. "We might get stuck in the snow too, but as we lure them out, the sneak team could stay near the fortress, and as soon as everyone starts to panic, they can slip in."

Hazeldust sighed, mixed relief and anticipation. At least they had some plan, now they only had to excecute it.

"We might as well rest tonight and attack in the morning," she muttered, twisting to lick a scratch on her shoulder. Maybe she'd ask Snowdapple for something.

Skyeye watched the short lived battle until Shruiken escaped. She felt hope fade away as the warrior dissapear from sight. No matter what they tried, IceClan and ThunderClan always seemed to know what they were planning. They would never win this war.

Hazeldust wrote:~Wait, I was bringing a group of warriors as backup! -.- ~

Hazeldust hurriedly told Brightstar what happened, and then brought several warriors to circle around the area to block Shuriken from leaving. But when she arrived, she saw that Shuriken was gone and Honeytongue's companion, Mangostep, had a wound in his shoulder.

Hazeldust let out an exasperated, hissing breath. She had not been fast enough. "What happened?" she asked Honeytongue briefly. It looked like nothing much happened-Honeytongue and his friends were still in the same places she had left them.

Brightstar shifted on her paws uncomfortably. "I'll get Echosong," she offered, and dashed away.

~Just in case you didn't know, Honeytongue..... Echosong is RiverClan's med. cat.~

Solved Re: Shadowstorm's Rescue

Post by Stareye July 31st 2011, 17:13

Just as Skyeye lay her head down she had an idea. It was practically suicidial, but desprate times came for desprate measures.
Knowing her clanmates would only stop her, she snuck away from the temporary camp and climbed a hill, laying flat so no one would see her.
Skyeye saw a valley that wasn't far from the fortress, and the blinding glare told her there was a stream lying in the heart of the valley. Only by getting there would she find out if the ice on top was breakable. SKyeye looked at the route and to he rdelight, saw plenty of places for her to take shelter from the weather.
Once Skyeye was at the bottom of the hill, she made her way toward the valley, thinking about the stream that would make her idea possible.
After a while, Skyeye arrived at the valley, and she almost yowled in joy to find that the ice on the stream could easily be broken. Skyeye wandered farther into the valley until she found a reed bed. The reeds were extremely hard to work with, being so brittle from the winter's frost, but she managed to make a tight basket. From the way it cracked as she carried it, Skyeye knew she would only be able to use each basket once. It was a long journey back to the place where Skyeye first broke the ice. She had to widen the hole she made in order to dip the basket in, and even gettting enough water in was quite a chore. After many attempts, Skyeye had a full basket of water, and she stored it in a cave, covering the topdead willow branches to keep it from freezing.
Skyeye repeated the process many times, and by the time she had enough baskets of water from the job, the sun was barely a flicker of light above the horizon, it's dying rays like blood on the peaceful valley.
Skyeye knew she had very little time; her allies, or maybe even her enemies, had to notice her absence by now. She wanted to get some rest, but she knew how likely her plan would fail if she did that. Besides, night time was the best time as ever to do this.
Carefully picking up the first basket, Skyeye slowly made her way out of the valley and toward the fortress. There was no way she could climb to the top with the basket, so she would have to rely on a tunnel that led into the entrance hall of the fortress. Skyeye couldn't see her paws by the time she finally found it, and she felt excitment rise when she found that this tunnel was sloped downwards. Skyeye poured the water into the tunnel and watched the water leak into the entrance hall. With new energy zapping through her paws, Skyeye ran back for the second basket. As the night dragged on, Skyeye continued to pour water down the tunnel, and felt like a kit eating it's first mouse when she saw the first layers already freezing. By the time she was done, Skyeye could barely lift a paw. Warm satisfaction rewarded her hard work as she watched the final drops of ice freeze, completing her trap for the ThunderClan and IceClan warriors.
But what if my own allies fall for the trap? The problem occured to Skyeye for the first time. Skyeye wanted to warn them, but she knew she was too exhausted to make the journey now.
Half dragging herself to the valley, Skyeye almost fell asleep a few times in the journey. When she reached the valley, Skyeye dragged herself into a cave so small even characteristic skinny WindClan warriors could barely fit inside. The cave where she had stored the baskets would be too cold with the spilled water for a leafbare shelter now. Skyeye barely recalled the spare reeds she had stored in here, and she squirmed into the pile and curled into the tightest ball she could. Purring as the reeds warmed her fur, Skyeye quickly fell asleep.

OOC: IceClan and ThunderClan, don't even think about anticipating this plan as well! When you guess everything were trying to do, then what's the point of roleplaying? It's not fun for anyone!

Shuriken wrote:Shuriken hissed. He was no good here. There were simply too many people.

Shuriken charged forward torward Kali. As he got closer, he did the snake eye trick and flipped up a rock to where Mangostep was. But instead of coming into close range, he threw the shark's teeth. It zoomed torward Mangostep. The monkey had three choices. Dodge. Counter the teeth by striking. Or if he was stupid enough, stand there and die.

And for the mere seconds it took to decide what to do, Shuriken zoomed dodged the monkey and got past the ambush. Shuriken raced into the icy woods and ran toward the Fortress. He wasn't worried about meeting any other cats. They would not have weapons and they would be not match for him.

He stopped and turned around. He looked straight at Honeytongue, eyes narrowed. "The war is not over. We will fight another day." Shuriken whipped around and became a shadow in the woods.
After Shuriken left, Sunfall darted forward. He picked up the shark's teeth. "Cool!" he said. He rushed to show Hazeldust. "Look what I have!" Dance

That sparked an idea in Hazeldust's mind. "If we do end up fighting," she started thoughtfully, "IceClan would likely do a lot of the fighting. Maybe you can grab their paws and try to knock off their reinforced claws-then you would be more evenly matched."

"They are probably attached and reinforced though," mentioned Sunfall. He rubbed against Hazeldust's fluffy pelt. "But I appreciate you trying," he said.

<<<later....>>>

Sunfall had an idea.
"Hazeldust,I got it an idea! Listen listen. Okay, you know how Shuriken has 4 times the power of a typical Clan leader right?"

[Shuriken's attack is 42,000 while the average Clan leader has only 10,000].

"If several cats team up, we can defeat him!!! (attack powers will be higher!!). We have more cats and they have more power. That's the trade off between their Clan and our Clans. Individual power versus power as a group. Then we will be evenly matched! With luck, we can have a chance!" said Sunfall.

"Of course, that's the battle strategy after we breach the walls. For now, we must find a way in. I was hoping for avalanche to build up a ladder or pile of snow so we can get across the walls."

Meanwhile, back at the castle, Monkeystar was surprised to see Shuriken coming in through the front door. He seemed a little angry/annoyed.

"Cats give you a good bite on the tail?" teased Monkeystar. He swished his own long, fluffy tail on the floor.

~Yay, I'm fluffy! Super Happy ~

Hazeldust nodded thoughtfully at Sunfall's idea. "But we won't only be attacking Shuriken-he'll bring his own warriors too. But, if the attack force divides up into small groups of three or four to fight one cat each, then that could also work. Each small group just needs to stay together, and not go after an enemy cat by themselves." It was a pretty good idea-Hazeldust hoped the others would agree.

Hazeldust felt relieved that a Clan leader would agree to the idea. "Shuriken, Desertclaw, Icewing, Pain, and Snowlily," Hazeldust ticked off the names in her head. Quickly counting all the cats that had come with them, she announced, "We have about thirty cats in total. That'll be enough-plus five cats to go inside." But then there won't be a backup group. And what about the ThunderClan cats?

~All the clans that are participating-AwesomeClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, and FireClan put together adds up to exactly 35 cats-not including other roleplay characters.~

When Skyeye woke up, she remembered with a jolt the trap she had made. What if they were on their way to the castle now, and the rescue went horribly wrong because they weren't prepared for the ice skating they would have to do?
Skyeye squeezed out of the cave and dashed out of the valley, running as fast as she could back to the camp.
"Hazeldust! Brightstar! Wait! Wait!" Skyeye yowled.

Monkeystar was out for his morning stroll. He was walked to the front exit. Suddenly his paw slid forward as his pads lost traction on the ice. Monkeystar flashed his tail to balance himself but his other paws slipped too. The ground came up very fast and Monkeystar crashed to the ground. What the heck? he thought. There was ice all over the front exit.

"Bah! This castle has bad plumbing."

Monkeystar whirled around and retreated to his room.

That night, Lotus-star secretly led her Warriors out of the castle. "Quick!" she said. "It's no longer safe for us here. We must join the other Clans. Monkeystar has been suspicious! Quickly!" she ushered her Warriors towards the sharkskin tunnel. "Don't look back! The walls will cut your fur and skin!"

Lotus-star glanced at the dark hallways and passages of the castle. Would they be able to get out in time before they were found out?

Skyeye faced Hazeldust. "Well, would you rather give them the complete advantage?" Skyeye spat. "The tunnel I poured the water through could serve as a way out, but after the last tunnel I found, I wouldn't count on it." Skyeye paused before she had an idea.
"A castle like this is bound to have cracks in the walls. If we used those cracks to climb the back wall of the castle, we could suprise them and force IceClan and ThunderClan on to the ice while another group leads Shadowstorm and WindClan to saftey. Either that," Skyeye paused and turned to Sunfall, "Or we could slide across the ice and get to soild ground before we're discovered."
