Thunder Strikes (Official Windclan/Thunderclan RPG)

Ravenfall turned to look for the rabbit that Lilacstar had gestured to. He spotted it and smirked, sunlight glinting in his eyes. He took a step towards it, turning to look at the remainder of the patrol. "I'll go after it... Who's joining me?" He unsheathed his claws, ready for the wind to push against his fur whilst sprinting after the rabbit. A quiet purr escaped his throat for a mere second at the thought, but was quickly silenced as soon as it started.

Darkpaw:

Sprawling in her nest, Darkpaw twitched, batting lazily with one paw at something visible only in her dreams. One ear flopped forward, and she rolled over and out of her nest, hitting the ground with an "Oof!" that woke her up. She looked around wildly- no one was in the den, and there were no noises from the camp. She jumped to her feet and scrambled out of the apprentice den, back claws shredding her nest in  her rush, only to be confronted with an empty camp but for Moorstrike and Stormfrost.

"Oh, nonono, everyone's already gone! Mousebrain Darkpaw, you always mess things up," she mewed, distressed. She pawed at one of her ears, looking down at the ground, and caught a whiff of scent. "Oh! That's what I can do!"

She skidded past Moorstrike, almost knocking the skinny tom over, and ran out of the camp, paws pounding against the hard-packed dirt and nose to the ground, tracking the scent of her mentor. She ran as fast as she could, stopping every few minutes to check the scent she was following, and soon enough reached the patrol. "Lilacstar! I'm here, I'm here, sorry!"

"You're welcome to go after it by yourself, Ravenfall." Lilacstar meowed, her whiskers twitching in amusement at the younger tom's apprehension to hunt without permission.
Lilacstar looked over as the young apprentice came sprinting over the hills, her ears twitching at the sight of the sleep-ruffled young she-cat.

"Nice to see you're awake, Darkpaw. Don't be so alarmed, I figured since you had a long day of training yesterday, you deserved some down time." Lilacstar chuckled, her nose crinkling in more silent laughter at her apprentice's panic.

"I actually anticipated that you would sleep longer, but since you're already up and with the patrol, perhaps you'd assist us with hunting and checking the borders?" Lilacstar questioned growing more somber as she down at the dark apprentice, gesturing to the rest of the patrol with her tail.

"I'm sure Ravenfall wouldn't mind if you helped him track down a rabbit which just passed through." Lilacstar meowed, nodding at the awaiting tom.

Darkpaw let out a sigh of relief, hackles lowering at the reassurance that no, she wasn't in trouble for sleeping in. Yesterday had been a hard day, when she'd had her first hunting lesson. Her sneaking was too loud, her movements too fast, and her distress when she missed a piece of prey (a.k.a always) too keen. She'd finally caught a single rabbit after hours of training, but that might just have been because it had been half deaf, or at least that's the explanation she had. "O-of course I'll help! Thank you, Lilacstar!"

She turned and sniffed the air, staring in the direction of the rabbit and taking off in a leap before she remembered the previous day's lessons. Lowering her voice to the best of her ability, she whispered to Ravenfall, "I'll come from this way, you sneak around and pin it between us."

Ravenfall had watched the apprentice walk towards the patrol, as well as her being sent to hunt with him. He grinned, about to give orders to the young Darkpaw when she spoke up and told him what to do. Not a traditional thing, a warrior taking orders from an apprentice, but he crouched down and spoke softly, "Alright, but remember that if the wind changes direction, circle around it so that neither scent hits it... Unless that's not how your plan goes, oh great and mighty Darkpaw."

The tom began making his way to the other side of the rabbit, stopping when he had aligned himself with Darkpaw on the other side. He flicked his tail up to signal that he was in position and ready to spring forward at any given time.

Darkpaw didn't even notice his sarcasm, letting it roll off her back like water as she crouched and flicked her tail up, letting him know he should move. She sprung at the rabbit, letting out a fierce mental war-cry to the tune of Aaargh! Die, you fiend! Of course, just her luck, the wind changed in the middle of her jump, carrying her scent to the rabbit. Its little head popped up from where it had been grazing on the moor grass, and it fled straight to Ravenfall, Darkpaw in hot pursuit, her tiny paws a drumbeat on the ground and her ears perked up, tail quirked in the thrill of the chase.

Lilacstar winced at her apprentice's feral scream, her ears dropping flat as she attempted to block out the high pitched caterwauling. Lilacstar's shoulders tensed, preparing to intervene if the chase went haywire and the rabbit somehow managed to escape Ravenfall's paws. 

Watching her apprentice intensely, Lilacstar mentally noted the sloppiness of the young she-cat's stalking and hunting skills. 

"We're definitely gonna have to go over the basics of hunting again. At least she's improved since yesterday." Lilacstar thought wearily, chucking at the thought of yesterday's session.

Ravenfall sighed, somewhat understanding Lilacstar's hassles with the apprentice. But then again, he had done some of that stuff on purpose as an apprentice just to chase the rabbit, so he somewhat understood when he noticed her ears perk up. Returning his attention to the rabbit, he watched it dart towards him, careful not to move and interrupt its path until it was directly in front of him. He sidestepped to the right, as to not have Darkpaw crash into him, and quickly stuck his left paw out. He unsheathed his claws, hooking them on the rabbit's pelt before he drew it back and delivered the killing blow.

After burying the rabbit, he returned to where Lilacstar's tense form sat. He spoke low, as to not be overheard and end up discouraging Darkpaw, "So, I take it you two are going over hunting again, huh?"

Lilacstar smiled slightly at Ravenfall, relieved at the fact that her apprentice had successfully flushed the prey into Ravenfall's awaiting paws. Darkpaw probably couldn't of handled loosing another piece of prey after yesterday's wild fiasco of a hunting session.

"We most likely will have too." Lilacstar responded, her voice to low for anyone beside Ravenfall to hear. Lilacstar would rather spare the young she-cat any sort of embarrassment by speaking publicly of her lack of natural hunting skills. 

"Although, today Darkpaw's hunting skills seemed to have to improved! Although we're probably going to have to work on her stealth  techniques." Lilacstar chuckled, turning away from Ravenfall to look over at her young apprentice, whom was still caught up in the thrill of her hunt.

Tangleclaw shot up her head. She was the only one in the warriors' den. Fox dung! I overslept again! she spat in her head. The pale and ginger she-cat bolted up and trotted across the camp. I might as well go for a hunt. Tangleclaw thought as her paws carried her outside of camp. She scanned the moor with her blue optics, as smelling the air wouldn't serve her any good. The feline's gaze rested on a small white form not too far away. Rabbit! Tangleclaw broke into a run, her large paws thundering against the moorland grass. The rabbit swung it's tiny head around and fled, but the cat was faster. She gripped it's neck with her sharp teeth, killing it almost instantly. The she-cat dropped it in front of her and took a few deep breaths. "Perhaps that was a bit too fast…" Tangleclaw panted between breaths. This rabbit was fairly large so she dragged it back to camp.
She dropped it onto the fresh-kill pile and sat by the camp entrance. The pale and ginger she-cat was still exhausted so she rested for a moment before going out again.

Darkpaw chased herself in circles for a minute or two, still caterwauling in her excitement. Eventually, she fell over, hitting the ground and rolling over once or twice before she jumped up, shaking the dust out of her coat and almost bouncing over to Lilacstar and Ravenfall. "You caught it! And I helped! This is soso great!"
