Unexpected Illness RPG (part 1)

First topic message reminder :

Alright everyone. It is time for Thunderclans newest rp. I do plan on breaking this up into multiple topics at certain points in the plot. Sorry everyone. I know some of you have been waiting a while for this now but your wait is over. I have suddenly decided what Thunderclan newest RPG will be. Feel free to jump in at your leisure. I will also allow members of other clans to create a Thunderclan character using the template at the bottom of the post or use their own characters which will start out in each respective land own territory. However, all high ranking portisitions or "special positions" will still be held by the actual Thunderclan members (for those of you creating a Thunderclan cat). In other words, the Leader, Deputy, Medicine cat and medicine cat apprentice postitions will not be available to members outside of Thunderclan and will be held for those members holding the actual rank. Only those participants that are not Thunderclan members are required to fill out the form before joining the rp. Enjoy.

Setting/Plot: The clan's are just recovering from one of the harshest leaf-bares they have experienced yet. A large portion of the forest has warmed up and much of the snow has melted while large patches. Thunderclan's main source of water, a small pond, still remains frozen over.

Thunderclan prey is just starting to stir again, but many of the medical herbs were destroyed by the frosts and with the main source of water unavailable to them, the cats have had to seek out other ways o quench their thirst. Meanwhile, an awful odor is coming from the direction of the two-legs farm homes. Now the clans have been hit with a strange outbreak of an illness they have not experienced before, causing the infected cats to stumble around murmuring nonsense and attacking their own clan mates. The clans are worried he disease will spread to their elders, kits and queens if it isn't stopped soon.

Before long the clans will realize the stench is coming from the dead carcass of a cow that twolegs shot and killed, which the cats suspect carried the disease and the dead carcass was dumped next to a stream that the cats have been drinking from. I would just like to remind everyone, there isn't mind reading in the RP. The warriors will come across this information later so no one will know this at the start of the rp.

Rules: Everyone must follow the RPG rules in this topic. If you don't follow the standards I have set above and get too far off track (ex. There are 5 pages of people hunting and drinking from the water) I will ask you to edit your post. I'm going to set the limit at no more than 6 infected cats. Everyone can create as many characters as they can manage and if they create to many to keep up with they may kill as many off as they please, however, each member may only be allowed to play a maximum of 1 infected cat to allow everyone an opportunity who wants it. If you have any questions you can ask me in a post below, in a private message or in the chat box.

Symptoms of the Illness: So I figure since probably the most prominent internal issue that goes on when someone/something has rabies is that the brain suffers from severe swelling. The actual disease has to enter the body through the bloodstream and travel to the brain from there so there needs to be some sort of open wound for a cat to catch the illness. The first signs should be infection and pain around the sores. Then this should lead to some level of confusion and irritability, followed by light headedness and then debilitating headaches. Eventually, after these basic stages, anything would be driven mad but bare in mind if you want to play a sick cat that's been driven mad and starts attacking their clan mates, the infected cat will not be able to organize their thoughts at all. They will literally be at a complete loss of control and therefore will not be very good at fast or strong anymore either.

The snow had finally stopped for the season as the sun crept over the treetops. There was still a bitter chill that clung to the air. Everything was still silent as the patrol prepared to leave the camp for the dawn patrols. Then there was the solvent drumming of paws as the beat against the earth. Silverwing could hear them racing closer as she began to stir in her den, slowly opening her eyes and blinking the sleep away.

"You can't just barge in there!" Someone yowled from within the camps clearing.

Silverwing could hear the steps getting closer to her den as the intruder ignored the warriors howls of anger and protest below. Suddenly a shape appeared in the entrance though the light behind the cat made their appearance hard to distinguish. She parted her jaws to take in the scent but it wasn't one she was familiar with. Quickly, she shuffled to her paws, her pelt ruffled rising in irritation. "What do you want?" She demanded with unsheathed claws.

"We have come from the twolegs home." a deep voice responded.

"So why are you here then?" She responded with a clear warning in her voice. "Kittypet." She could identify from the voice that it was a tom before her.

The cat said nothing at first, ignoring the insults. "One of your clan members is dead. They were found outside the twoleg barn. I have only come to pass on that message." He responded as he turned to walk away. "You're welcome to come retrieve them."

"A few kittypets have passed by this area recently," Fernshade added. She was standing off to one side, peering through the brambles and trying to trace the source of the noise. "They're all rather stale, except for one. And that one is pretty fresh. Maybe an hour old." The gray she-cat pushed herself back up, simultaneously slicing her nose open with a thorn. "Great StarClan," she spat in annoyance, mostly at her own clumsiness.

Ghostfur nodded agreement at Fernshade's and Briarpaw's observations. He could smell the strange disease scent, which seemed familiar. It almost smelled like the one disease that one wolf had in the mountains... Ghostfur pushed the thought aside and strained his ears, trying to find the source of those voices, but to no avail. "The fresh one could be our kitty friend here." Ghostfur said, waving his tail toward the kittypet they were escorting. He tried his best to suppress his amusement that Fernshade had cut her nose on a thorn.

Missingpaw sat in the medicine den, thinking carefully.

Silverstar watched as the patrol left then turned and looked at Ivythorn. "It's hard to say now. We will have to find out if there is in fact a body first." She unsheathed her thorn sharp claws and drove them into the earth. She was feeling a bit uneasy lately about all of the racket going n in their territory and that awful stench that was slowly driving its way father into Thunderclans territory. I wonder if any of the other clans are experiencing the same things?... she thought to herself. Silverstar refocused her attention on Ivythorn. "If they do return with a body, it should be carefully examined first." She said with a brief agreeable nod.

Her eyes became clouded in thought as she weighed out her option for her next move. Perhaps it is time to visit the other clan leaders. "Ivythorn, perhaps you and Missingpaw should pay the moonpool a visit tomorrow night and see if Starclan has anything to say about this. I'm going to take Milkypaw to Riverclan with me to see Streamstar immediately. I will leave the clan in your hands until I or Leopardwing return.

The lean gray figure of Torrentheart emerged through the thick entrance of RiverClan camp, his eyes fixed on his leader and he bounded straight for her. Remembering to obey his own sense of respect, he dipped his head politely. "Good morning Streamstar," he meowed. "Patrols are set until next dawn. I just came back from one myself." He winked and sat down, his face turning a little somber now. "But, er, that's not exactly what I'm here for."

~Heart murdered Rockkit and badly injured Lizardkit. Doveheart is spitting insults at Heart. Scarface is running to Silverwing to tell her what happened~

bluepaw heard all the commotion and dashed out into the clearing. she looked around and saw doveheart. she didnt wanna get in to the fight so she slowly left in to the apprentice den.

tigerkit and mousekit peered out of the nursery. before they took a paw step a queen quickly pulled them back in. "i didnt wanna be treated like a kit any more i am soon to be apprenticed"tigerkit sqwirmed. "ya, this is unexceptable"mousekit stomped her paw.

foxfire left the den over to doveheart. " whats going on here"demanded the young warrior.

"That stupid fox dung, Heart, killed Rockkit! Lizardkit is badly injured." Doveheart cried.

"Shut it!" Heart said swiping her with her claws.

"OOOOWWWW!!!!" Doveheart yowled.

Scarface padded up to Silverwing face-to-face. "My kits are getting killed in there! Exile my sister!" Scarface growled. He looked to see her expression.

foxfire padded in front of doveheart. " HEART! You know the warrior code. if you want to hurt doveheart you will have to get trought me now." she hissed. her eyes weer gleaming with fury. she didnt like any other clan mates getting hurt. she doesnt like to fight other cats but for committing a crime agianst starclans code she must fight.

"Yah, right! My father could kill you in one swipe!" Heart growled. "Thats right my father was Scourge!" Heart growled. (Cool huh)

Doveheart looked stunned. "Sc-Scourge! Does Scarface know?" She asked stunned.

"Of course! When Scourge died we were only 5 moons old! I fed him! When a hunting patrol found me they took us here!" Heart explained. "My father trained me to be a killing machine!" Heart growled pouncing on Doveheart's shoulders.

"Get off!" Doveheart yowled. The nursing Queen was no match for the strong warrior.

Scarface heard the commotion. "Listen! Please help!" Scarface yowled.

foxfire leaped on to heart knocking her off of doveheart. " tigerstar will never let me down. never his own daughter"" she hissed as she got her pinned. "" i wont let you hurt anymore clan mates. not while i am here"'

"Tigerstar was a fool! He was much bigger than Scourge! And yet that mouse-brain died from him!" Heart growled trowing her off.

Lizardkit lie still in the corner. His sides were not heaving.

"Lizardkit!" Doveheart cried.

Heart started to cough up blood. "W-what's go-going o-on?" Heart gasped. She collapsed. "Scarface!" Heart yowled.

Scarface looked at the nursery. "Follow me, Silverwing." he said. "I'm coming!" Scarface yowled.

"Scarf-face. Give my body to the medicine cat. Make shore they find out what killed me." Heart gasped. She stared past his shoulder. "I'm ready Scourge." Heart whispered.

"No!" Scarface yowled. "Heart, no matter what I will love you!" Scarface promised.

"Goodbye brother. Goodbye, Silverwing." Heart gasped. The shine in her eyes disappeared.

Scarface looked at her dead body. He burst into tears.

foxfire lookedd down at the limp body. her eyes soon began to fill with tears. tigerstar deserved to die. she started to walk around to find out what killed her. no cat killed her and i couldnt be death berries so what killed her, she tought. she wandered into the forest with out being seen. " heart i will miss you. please send me a sign of what or who killed you. all that i know is that i didnt kill you so what did"she murmured to her self. she found a small quiet place behind a waterfall and lied down thinking of what could kil her.

Heart opened her eyes. Stars and cats were all around her. "Scourge!" Heart yowled running towards her father.

"Someone is calling you from the forest." Scourge said nosing her. "You can speak to her while she sleeps" Scourge added.

"Good morning ,Torrentheart," Streamstar meowed as she saw him bounding into camp. Things seemed fine at first, when he'd mentioned the patrols, but now Streamstar knew something was wrong. She thought back to earlier when she'd scented the crowfood scent on the wind. She'd assumed that some kittypet had gone hunting for fun, and had just left it's prey to rot, but now when she thought about it, the smell had also reminded her of sickness, and it had seemed to be coming from the direction of the twoleg barn. "What's wrong Torrentheart?" she asked.


Shadeclaw padded out the camp entrance to go hunt. As soon as the camp was out of sight, he began running through the forest, enjoying the wind on his face, and the excitement he felt when hunting. He slowed down as he neared the stream running through Thunderclan territory and he scented the air. It wasn't long before he picked up the scent of rabbit. He slowing crept through the undergrowth in the direction of the scent. Soon he spotted the rabbit. He was almost close enough when there was a loud snap. "Mouse Dung!" he hissed, as the rabbit raced off. He ran after it, only focusing on the rabbit. He suddenly lost his footing as he tripped on a bramble, and one of the thorns left a long gash in his leg. It wasn't deep, and he didn't want to bother the medicine cats with his leg, when they probably had more important things to do. He walked over to the stream, and dipped his leg in the wash the blood off his wound.

"What?!" Heart asked puzzled.

"I will talk to Bone for a moment." Scourge said turning around

"Why?!" Heart asked puzzled. She was so confused.

"Come on dear lets go barry the kits and leave this for crowfood." Doveheart said.

"No! All you care for is yourself! She will be inspected by the medicine cat!" Scarface growled.

Doveheart looked stunned.

Cherryleaf paced around the camp, feeling uneasy. She hadn't eaten yet this morning but didn't feel the need to. She licked a few light scratches from a tumble down the slippery river bank yesterday. They felt itchy, though wounds always felt like that when they were healing. A good wash in the river would probably help, she thought.

~right now I'm assuming the river has been slightly contaminated as well? That's how I'll make Cherryleaf get infected~
