DF RP: The New Leaders

We'll start off the roleplay with Aere and I becoming Dark Forest Leaders. Some DF members who are part of a Clan will have to choose whether they want their old Clan's badge and rank or the DF badge and rank. PM Bot if you want to change your badge and rank.

As you guys roleplay, we need ideas for the following. Just name your thoughts together with your RP post!

- Significant places of the Dark Forest
- Name for the place where leaders give announcements

"Aere!" Phantom sprinted across the clearing towards the other she-cat, suddenly feeling as excited as an apprentice. "Congratulations, sister," She mewed, a purr rumbling in her throat softly.

Not knowing anyone in the Dark Forest, Auburnpaw twitched his ears. None of the cats even looked familiar, so he'd just have to choose a cat based upon their obvious strength. Sunbeam was the first that came to mind. He was about to become a warrior. "Alliance?" Auburnpaw mouthed to the RiverClan warrior.

Sunbeam nodded his head discreetly. "When do we start?" he asked, panting a little after his experiance in the "river". He looked toward Phantom and Aere. We'd better stay clear until the end he thought. No use taking on the master before they had to.

"Everyone's included," Phantom grinned back at Aere before casting a backward glance at Feral. She motioned him to join their team. The large brown tabby nodded and padded over slowly. "The game begins!"

The trio hastily backed away from the rest to discuss battle strategies. "Who should we take down first?" Phantom asked. Feral's ears twitched as he observed the others.

"Come on!" Sunbeam yelled, flinging himself on Sparkpaw. He used his front paws to try to sweep her off balance, at the same time using his superior strength and weight to press her towards the ground.

"I never really believed in the technique of picking off the weak before tackling the strong,"
Aere meowed, her eyes darting back and forth quickly to take stock of the immediate chaos. "There are more weak cats than strong, and going through those weak cats will tire you and inventabley earn you some wounds. No matter how good you are, sometimes you just can't avoid a lucky strike. Going for the strongest isn't smart either, because the stronger ones will have already picked off the weakest ones, leaving you with many strong cats or a large alliance. I say we go for one of the stronger cats. Maybe one with a good alliance pair, or a strong cat with a weak one." She glanced at Phantom and Feral for conformation.

~Just a quick a question: Are we training with claws unsheathed or sheathed? ~

"Claws unsheathed," Phantom noticed the questioning look in Sunbeam's eyes. "Well, which pair?" She asked Aere, her claws already unsheathed. Feral was unbothered by whether claws were allowed or not. He never really used them anyways.

Rockpaw nodded to Sparkpaw, then watched Sunbeam leap onto her friend. She unsheathed her claws and leaped onto the tom, digging her claws in his skin for a few moments, then hopped off. If she could get his attention, then Sparkpaw or her could pin him down... Or at least make him fall, hopefully. Rockpaw leaped back on Sunbeam, dug her claws in, and pounced off of him. "Over here, mousebrain!" she hissed, still hoping to pull him off of Sparkpaw. She leaped at him again, but this time she went over. "Over here, Fish Breath!" she hissed again. She ran in a zig-zag pattern, hissing, "Oh, wait. I'm over here! Also, you fight like a kittypet!" She narrowed her eyes, waited, then swiped at the tom, trying to rake her claws down his side. She broke into a run, all around Sunbeam, slashing at him as she dashed around.

Forestblaze hid herself in the shadows, her senses alert. She wanted to go for a warrior. Sunfire shot himself at Sunbeam, his long, white claws unsheathed. He didn't want Sunbeam to kill a new apprentice. He knocked the tom to the side, forcing him to fall in the river. He jumped in right after him, hiding deep in the black water so Sunbeam couldn't see him. He swam silently under the tom and jumped, knocking the wind out of Sunbeam. He swam to his left, jumped out of the water, and tackled Sunbeam. His force was so strong, he pushed Sunbeam to the bottom of the river. He got out of the water, shook his pelt, and waited for Sunbeam to come out. He was out of breath, but he controlled it, trying not to give his location. Forestblaze ran over to Sparkpaw and asked, "Want me to help you?"
~I feel this Sunfire and Sunbeam battle is going to be vicious BUT NO KILLING :3~

Sparkpaw slammed her bog paws into Sunbeam's ear, she sprang to her paws and looked at Forestblaze "Yes." She trusted the older she-cat considering her son probably just saved her from a giant RiverClan tom, she probably could.

(Remember, Sparkpaw isn't that tiny! Shes almost as big as Windystorm.)

Sunbeam glided beneath the river, then burst out and went strait for Sunfire. He raked a claw down his spine and then crashed into him, trying to knock him over.

"The new apprentice, Auburnpaw, and Sunbeam," Aere suggested softly. "We can spring Sunbeam while he's busy fending off Sparkpaw and then we can pick of Rockpaw and Sparkpaw as well." She unsheathed her long claws and melted into the trees' shadows, her eyes glinting with dark flashes of determination.

Auburn paw leaped for Rockpaw, throwing her off his ally. He snickered and grabbed her shoulder, then thew her against the tree. My lips curled back into a snarl, and pinned her down. - is this okay? I haven't RPed battles in a while..-

Rockpaw narrowed her eyes, then fell limp. Feeling his grip loosen, she kicked, flinging him back. She caught parts of the conversation going on between Aere and Phantom.
"New apprentice...and Sunbeam...-paw...Pick off Rockpaw...Sparkpaw."
She stared at Auburnpaw, then dashed over to Forestblaze and Sparkpaw. "Other side of the river, now!" she hissed and looked back at Auburnpaw. "You, too! We must work together for a few minutes, then you can start pinning me to trees!" she hissed and swam across the river. "Aere and Phantom could do anything!" she softly told the others. "So, never charge straight into battle. Instead, we'll wait and see what they do. WindClan/Former WindClan shall run if they have to and hopefully they'll get tired and collapse. Auburnpaw, you can go into the shadows and try to confuse them if you have to. If that doesn't work, we'll have to improvise." She reached the other side of the river and shook her pelt, getting all of the 'water' out of her fur, then sat, waiting, watching, listening.

Sunfire grunted when Sunbeam slammed into him, and he flew through the air. He twisted himself in the air and landed on his paws. Sunbeam was powerful, but Sunfire knew most of the Dark Forest moves. Sunfire darted at Sunbeam, trying to make himself look vulnerable. Then, he slid under Sunbeam and punched his stomach with his claws unsheathed, which made him bleed, and it knocked the wind out of him. He got back up, ready to fight.

Sunbeam disengaged himself from Sunfire, striking one last blow at the opposing tom's head. He dived gracefully into the river and swam strongly for the other bank. He climbed out and shook his pelt. "What's this all about?" he asked Rockpaw, looking questioningly at his ally. His enemy had suddenly called a truce and was talking with his ally. The dark branches above his head didn't stir, and no stars or moon shone above his head. The black exucse for a river oozed slowly and quietly over the dark rocks at the bottom of the so called "river"'s bed.

"You don't know?" Sunfire hissed, padding up to him. "This is the Dark Forest, where you can be the best warrior for your clan. The best they've ever seen. And you can never be that if you're afraid to get blood on your claws!" He reeled himself at Sunbeam and knocked him down, and sank his claws into Sunbeam's temple (on the side of your forehead, and it REALLY hurts when hurt).

Rockpaw watched the cats come up from the river. She looked at Sunbeam. "I overheard Phantom and Aere speaking," she whispered. "Aere said, 'New apprentice...and Sunbeam...-paw...Pick off Rockpaw...Sparkpaw.' I only caught pieces of the conversation, because someone pinned me to a tree." She glared at Auburnpaw before continuing. "So, I told them to never charge straight into battle. We will wait to see what will happen. If something goes wrong, we will use our strengths. WindClan/Former WindClan will run. MoonClan will try to confuse the enemy. Since you are here, you will swim..." She paused, then came up with a better idea. "You and Sunfire keep fighting. If you work as a distraction, then the partial plan could work." She never stopped listening to her surroundings as she spoke, just spoke. She went back to watching the surroundings as well, keeping a good watch out for any noise or other cat. She watched as Sunfire fought again with Sunbeam. Good.

Sunfire heard 'distraction' before he attacked Sunbeam. He made himself look as if he was going with their plan, and he whispered, "What? Newbie afraid he'll get in trouble if he lets out his claws?" He smiled and let his claws sheath for a second as he got off Sunbeam. He unsheathed his claws once again, waiting for Sunbeam to attack.

"I'll try and pick them off one by one," Phantom growled, leaping onto a tree, perching herself on its branches. The leaves shielded her presence from the others and it also gave her a bird's eye view of the training ground. She would stay hidden first.

Feral meanwhile slammed into Sunfire from behind, sending the other tom flying straight into the Dark River. He used one heavy paw to swipe at Sunbeam's legs, tripping the RiverClan tom by surprise. There. Two down. More to go, he thought.

~Wait, are we knocking them down? Or knocking them out? If so, Sunbeam is already out O.o I'm confused!~

Sunfire twisted himself in the air as he landed in the Dark River, making him land safely. He went down and his paws touched the riverbank. Still standing. He swam fiercely back out of the water and shook his pelt. Who's next?

Forestblaze got on her haunches as she looked for who her first victim would be. She looked at Feral, and she pounced. She soared quickly through the air and rammed into the tom paws first with her claws unsheathed.

~Wait, are we knocking them down? Or knocking them out? If so, Sunbeam is already out O.o I'm confused! And can you make that someone else? I want Sunfire to prove himself so he can be made a warrior :/ You don't have to, but... yeah ~

Viper was hidden in the bushes, unleashing and sheathing her claws, watching the battle go down, completely hidden. She would wait until Aree and Phantom came to pick everyone else off, before challenging them. She was completely still, her black pelt blending into the shadows, her olive eyes glaring out orange. She strained to pick out Sparkpaw, Rockpaw, Forestblaze, and Auburnpaw's pelts among the battle. Viper tensed her mucles, waiting to strike.

Aere slunk through the trees, knocking over Snowtuft along the way. Leaving the dazed white tom sprawled in a patch of mass, she slid into the murky black and waves and swam silently and steadily through the muck. She forced herself to stay underwater, as much as she hated it, because everything that mattered now was stealth. Sparkpaw and Rockpaw had crossed the river to be on the less chaotic side. A smart yet cowardly move. Aere paddling slowed as she reached the bank, and allowed herself to sink like a stone. I need air. Very soon, she thought, setlling into a crouch at the bottom. Tensing her muscles, Aere exploded upwards with all her strength, propelling herself out of the stream to plow over Sparkpaw. Seeing Rockpaw beside the now fallen apprentice, she flipped to the side, ducking behind Rockpaw with a well practiced movement. Aere still stayed out of reach of Rockpaw's blows however, just close enough for her to leap and strike if need be. If the apprentice leapt and tried to knock Aere over, it would only have to take less than half a heartbeat to slip back into the Dark River.


Fell glanced around, realizing quickly that she was alone this time. She shrugged, and sidestepped neatly as a cat hurtled at her from behind an oak. She slammed into the cat as he stumbled past, knocking him over easily with her bulk. Fell had an advantage to this game, because of her powerful, compact body. She may not be very fast, but it didn't matter as much in a game like this.
