DF RP: The New Leaders

We'll start off the roleplay with Aere and I becoming Dark Forest Leaders. Some DF members who are part of a Clan will have to choose whether they want their old Clan's badge and rank or the DF badge and rank. PM Bot if you want to change your badge and rank.

As you guys roleplay, we need ideas for the following. Just name your thoughts together with your RP post!

- Significant places of the Dark Forest
- Name for the place where leaders give announcements

"Aere!" Phantom sprinted across the clearing towards the other she-cat, suddenly feeling as excited as an apprentice. "Congratulations, sister," She mewed, a purr rumbling in her throat softly.

~ I think they both did.~

Sunbeam paced nervously, his claws unsheathed. Since she couldn't be him in strength, she would try to attack quickly or try to trick him. He lossened his muscles so he would be able to react quickly.

Phantom brought down both of her paws onto the water surface hard, sending a wave of water into Sunbeam's eyes, blinding him momentarily. Without waiting, she ducked beneath the black water surface, staying underwater as she slowly moved away from the other tom. The black river was the best way to hide her location underwater.

Aere's tail twitched. After moons upon moons of training with her sister, she could predict to some extent Phantom's moves, her reasoning, how she fought. Dark golden brown fur flashed at the edge of her vision, and she knew Fell-- previously known as Sunspirit-- had padded into the training session. Aere inched closer to the river until the murky black water was splashing at her paws, oozing and thick, unlike any river back in WindClan. Sagedapple would've hated the river. Sagedapple would've hated you for coming here, a snide voice whispered in her head, and Aere pushed it away angrily before any other cat noticed that she was distracted. She focused instead on Phantom's demonstration, noting Sunbeam's nervousness. He had been as tense as wire before forcing himself to relax.

Auburnpaw watched intently, searching the murky water for Phantom. For a RiverClan warrior, Sunbeam sure fell for that. He noted to himself to always stay on guard, especially around Phantom. Whiskers twitching, he was mentally taking notes of every single move they took.

Sparkpaw looked at the cats "Rockpaw? Sparkpaw looked at the she-cat and brushed her pelt next to her friends "Why is Forestblaze here? She was a good warrior, StarClan worthy I think. Sunfire too? He's Grasswhsiker's brither!" she wailed. Looking at Sunbeam and Phantom she cowered in the shadows. "Please let me go! I didn't do anything! I'm not dead!" she stared around her and frowned.

Camofrost coughed. "Sparkpaw, this is the Dark Forest. Phantom is just doing battle practice, now watch." He ordered the younger she-cat.

Wolfspirit nodded, "You aren't dead and we know that. You're special. Just like my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandaughter, you're friend, and Nightheart's Grandaughter, Rockpaw. You both have great potential. That's why I recruited Rockpaw when WindClan shunned her. She needed me. She needed us to help her. We're her clanmates, and we are yours. She trusted us and joined us."

Rockpaw looked at Sparkpaw, then watched the demonstration. StarClan can just surrender now, she thought, her eyes going from full of happy to evil. The Dark Forest will rule one day and I shall be leader of the forest with Sparkpaw as my deputy. Life will end for all who defy me and the Dark Forest! She shook her head to clear her mind then started taking mental notes, Don't get distracted. Focus on the task. Stay on guard. Always be prepared. Stay strong and sturdy. Don't let the water distract you. Let the river conceal you. Don't show fear. Don't let the water get in your eyes.

Sparkpaw shook her pelt "Ick, get off me Camofrost." she spat. She sidestepped from Rockpaw and stuck her tounge out "Fighting in water? Ew." she made a rasberry sound and laughed. "Am I right?" she asked. Frowning she said "What will Viper and Grasswhsiker think of... this?" she asked her friend.

Momentarily blinded, Sunbeam ducked underwater and swam side ways, away from the bank. Phantom's pelt would be harder to see than his golden one, so he needed to be alert. He dived until he reached the river bottom, keeping his claws sheathed. After coming up for air, he continued swimming.

"It doesn't matter what your Clanmates think," Aere said, overhearing their conversation. "You're here so you can become a better warrior. Don't you want your Clanmates to stop treating you like a kit?" She narrowed her eyes, judging and waiting for the apprentice's reaction. Aere spent a lot of her time watching the Clans; battle techniques, news, potential recruits, and the like. More often than not, she'd pick up useful little tidbits like that the fact that this particular WindClan apprentice had once lost her temper because her Clanmates were "treating her like a kit." If she still seemed more partial to StarClan after a couple more nights, something would have to be done, Aere decided, more irritated than testy now. With so many cats milling about and making a fuss, she started feeling fidgety, like energy was building up in her body too fast for her to wear off the pressure.

Phantom kept silent, holding her breath as long as she could. In the past, she would often practiced holding her breath as Shimmerfur had instructed her. All the hard work was paid off as she closed her eyes and listened to her surroundings. There was a slight ripple as she felt Sunbeam move away from her. When he quietened down, she used her tail to cause a loud splash before swimming smoothly forward.

Sparkpaw looked at Aere "Well, yes. Viper still acts like she's nursing me!z" she mewed. "And my mentor too." ooking at Rockpaw she mewed "Oh yah, I sorry about losing my temper." she scratched her head. She smiled slightly and continued to watch the demonstration. Were Phantom and Sunbeam, under water?

Sunbeam heard the spalsh and thought:Phantom is a RiverClan cat. She wouldn't make such a clumsy mistake. He came up for air, then swam forward with smooth strokes, ever on the alert. Likely phantom was somewhere right ahead.

Auburnpaw was confused by Phantom's actions. She was either distracting him, or getting the apprentice to look there for her, instead of where she really is. The water seemed hard to move in, like some kind of molten lava... Not burning, of course. He stuck his paw in and felt the 'water' stick around his paw. Auburnpaw shook it off, scared to lick it. She must be strong, to move through this! he thought in admiration.

Phantom decided that her method wasn't working so she plunged forward as hard as she could towards Sunbeam, powerfully kicking him in his ribs. She used her long sharp claws to hook onto his golden pelt, pushing him deep into the river. As he was forced into a contorted position, his strength wouldn't be helpful anymore. It would be a test of resilience.

Sunbeam relaxed, conserving his air. His mentor, Streamfur, had made sure he held his breath under water for as long as possible many times. The time ticked away, 20 seconds... 30 seconds... 40 seconds... his lungs were beginning to cry for air, but he ignored them. All if a sudden he twisted his body violently, trying to loosen Phantom's grip.

Phantom was undaunted by the lack of oxygen in her lungs. To her surprise, she felt rather calm. Sunbeam twisted beneath her grasp, and she struggled to hold him down. None of them could see each other through the murky water so she used her teeth to sink into whatever was nearest to her... hard.

Sunbeam winced in pain as teeth sunk into his tail and a few precious air bubbles escaped from his mouth. He twisted again, more violently. He couldn't stay underwater much longer. No one, except Streamfur, could have stayed under this long. He raked out a forepaw and felt evil satisfaction when it connected into fur. He tugged, pulling out some fur as his claws came free. Then, summoning all his effort, he shook his body in a spasm that used all of his muscle power.

~ A spasm? o.O ~

Phantom released Sunbeam, rising to the surface for air before swimming over towards the shore. She sprang out of the black river, shaking the water of her coat. There was a cut above her eye which stang but she waited for Sunbeam to emerge.

Sunbeam swam smoothly to the surface, breathing in deeply, than clambered up onto the land. He saw that Phantom was already there and started grooming hus pelt. He stopped when the polluted scent of the water filled his tongue. He stopped hastily.

Phantom dipped her head at Sunbeam and commented," You've improved greatly from the first time I met you. Perhaps its time for a Dark Forest warrior ceremony." The ends of her lips turned upwards slightly, looking pleased. She glanced around at the other Dark Forest members, waiting for their reactions.

~ Shouldn't I call you Sunpaw first? Haha jkjk ~

"What about me?" Sunfire narrowed his eyes, "My mentor died, so I haven't trained in a while. I want to test myself."

Forestblaze asked, "If he gets his warrior ceremony, will I mentor another apprentice?" She looked at Sparkpaw, hoping for her.

"Why don't we have a game?" Phantom asked suddenly. "Last Cat Standing. All of us against each other. You may form alliances but remember that there will be only one winner. The moment you fall, you lose." She exchanged glances with Aere, knowing that both sisters will always pair with each other no matter what.

"No killing live cats right now." Forestblaze meowed, "Live recruits are will be helpful in the-" she stopped herself before she said 'battle' in front of the new cats. "But that sounds fun."

Sunfire smiled, "How about all of the apprentices in training play the game? Then we'll see who's worthy of being a warrior."

Sparkpaw caught Forestblaze's gaze on her ten grinning she looked at Rockpaw "Alliances?" she mewed obviously.

Aere flicked her tail, returning Phantom's pleased look and moving to sit next to her. "Nice demo," she meowed under her breath. "After swimming around in that water, the RiverClanners won't stand a chance!" The lean brown she-cat looked among the other cats surreptitiously, always on the lookout to see what alliances were being formed. There will never be a perfect alliance like Phantom and me, she thought in satisfaction. They knew each other's moves so well, they could take down an enemy in sychronized movement in moments.
