Windclan RP

A golden tabby trotted into view, a rabbit in her jaws. Dropping her catch, her honey-colored eyes scanned the cats curiously. "What's up, guys? Have I missed som-" the warrior was abruptly cut off as a silvery gray tom crashed into her from behind, the mice he had flying from his broad muzzle. "OOF! What where you're going, Frozenglare!" Lightningstorm chuckled, standing and shaking her long, soft fur out before looking inquiringly at the others again.

"Quite an interesting way to put it," He chuckled, glancing down at Riverkit, then over at Birdflight. "Soon, I guess. After all, you're old enough. A little small though..." Windystorm teased, looking down at the kit with a playful grin. "If they're hungry enough, they might even mistake you for a squirrel. I'd love to be there if they do." He meowed, whiskers twitching at Dawnstorm. His ears swiveled around and he turned, facing Lightningstorm with a grin on his face. "Only everything," Windystorm shrugged, flicking an ear. "Where've you been? I almost never see you around in camp during the day!"

Lightningstorm shrugged sheepishly. "Oh, you know, just patrolling and stuff..." The long-legged she-cat hadn't noticed how busy she'd been lately. Since her parents and family had arrived from rouge life, the light brown tabby warrior had been worrying over them being accepted and been working her tail off to make sure it happened and that she'd become enough of an influence for her to be able to help her precious kin and Clan get along.

Rainkit headbutted Windystorm in return for his comment. "I am not squirrel size! If someone tried to eat me I would bite them!" She growled feircely.

Windystorm picked up the fallen mouse and dropped it onto the fresh kill pile, glancing at the other prey they'd caught. "You managed to find some food? We're running a bit short lately." He meowed, "Good news is we're working on it. Hey!" Windystorm looked down at the kit, growling playfully. "Y'know, given the recent prey shortage... you look pretty tasty."

"Well maybe we should eat you! You're bigger! You'd feed more of us!" She attempted to push Windystorm.

Dawnstorm's gaze followed Windystorm. "I found 2 plump little rabbits. They were burrowed in a moor dip. I suppose my tinyness has it's advantages. I slipped under and chased them around," Dawnstorm said playfully, batting her paw toward him. Windystorm sometimes made fun of her smallness, but at times like these its easy for her to shut him up. (Is that okay? The teasing thing?)

Birdflight sighed but a smile lit her features. "Windystorm!" She growled and cuffed him on the ear gently. "Back to our conversation, Rainkit I bet you and your siblings will become apprentices very soon." She mewed her eyes twinkling with glee. "Also Dawnstorm I need you to be in charge of teaching us how to climb trees so we can catch more prey and be prepared for anything. You can gather a small patrol later and once your done teaching them they can go and practice and the next patrol of warriors can come to learn. Just please let's all be careful." She mewed worry in her golden eyes. "How about instead of talking in camp we take our plans to action starting with the bait." Birdflight looked into the sky and it was sun high. "We should hurry." She urged hauling herself to her paws and shaking out her coat. Ok first, bait She thought going over the plan that Windystorm created.

"Ugg I hate being a kit! We can't leave camp, or do anything!" Rainkit protested. "I can't wait to be an apprentice.

"Calm down Rainkit!" Firekit told her, "We'll be apprentices soon enough!" Firekit assured her.

"Do you want us to teach everyone to hunt eagles and hawk?" Grasswhisker asked, "We need to hurry because they come out around now."

Wintershadow glared at Rainkit. "Rainkit! That was rude! Apologize to Windystorm right now!" Wintershadow growled, "Never speak to a warrior like that again!"

Windystorm grinned, a soft purr rumbling from his throat. "Don't worry Wintershadow, it's fine. I'm the fun one." He winked, flicking his tail. "I don't think I'd taste very good anyway." Windystorm shrugged and faced his deputy. "Don't worry Birdflight, careful was going to be my warrior name!" He stood and stretched, still shivering slightly. "I'll carry the nuts and berries. We could use a few first to see how it works, then, if the prey goes for it, we'll start trying to gather some more to use."

Birdflight turned and mewed, "Oh yeah! I'm sorry Grasswhisker! Of course you and your siblings may teach us about catching hawks and eagles. You can gather a small patrol and you and Dawnstorm can switch patrols. Just please make sure their are enough warriors to attack an eagle or hawk and be very careful. We don't need any more deaths." She mewed determination flaring in her golden eyes like a flame. She then turned to Windystorm and chuckled, "More like clumsy was going to be your warrior name. Have you forgotten that rock on the journey?" She asked giggling and her eyes alight with mischief.

"Firekit! We're getting left behind... agian! Like we always do!" Rainkit ranted. She was sick and tired of being a kit. Maybe just maybe we could sneak out... She thought silently.

Sagedapple slipped back to her den and nosed around in her store. There were only three beech nuts left. Flicking her ears in disappointment, she hurried aback to the others. "This is a beech nut," Sagedapple told them. "I don't have much left, but they should be relatively easy to find underneath the snow. Acorns work too." She pushed them over to Windystorm, and almost tripped over Rainkit. "Whoops," Sagedapple whisked her foot back just in time. Her eyes narrowed on the expression on the kit's face. "If only Fernleaf was still here," Sagedapple sighed. "She could run so fast and jump so high. She could always find something to keep the kits busy." Shoulders slumping, she sat down beside Birdflight. (No one but the DF warriors know that Aere changed her name from Fernleaf.]

Dawnstorm nodded to her deputy and turned to Grasswhisker. "Grasswhisker, shall we gather patrols? How about as we switch patrols the one of us not teaching will help with the bait?" She turned to the others. "Who is being taught how to hunt birds and climb?" she announced to the cats.

Windystorm smiled sheepishly, embarrassed. "I'll never live that one down. First apprentice to sprain a paw on the mountain, first to injure himself." He meowed, purring in amusement at the memory. "But hey, if I'm lucky, I'll make a good nursery tale one day." Windystorm took the nuts in his jaws, holding back a chuckle. He gave her a reassuring look and turned, ears pricked. "Wow, it feels pretty cold. Good thing Wintershadow will be watching the kits very closely to keep them safe." Windystorm shot a quick, teasing glance towards the kits. If he were younger, he'd have snuck out by now. The temptation of running in the snow-covered moors would be too great, and managing to find prey during the shortage would have been the ideal challenge for a stubborn cat like him, and if he knew kits, then they'd be planning their first nursery escape. If not, then it was good to remind them. Just to be safe...

Birdflight placed her tail on Sagedapple's shoulder trying to comfort her. Sagedapple was one of her good friends and clan mates and Birdflight knew how the disappearance of Fernleaf was devastating to her. It was devastating to herself as well. "Your an amazing medicine cat Sagedapple don't bring yourself down." She mewed trying to cheer the medicine cat up yet her voice betrayed her grief about losing Fernleaf. "I have an idea to keep the kits busy." She mewed getting to her paws a smirk curling onto her muzzle. She quickly padded out into the moors, the snow slightly slowing her down. She picked a spot where the snow wasn't as deep and quickly dug through the snow reaching the springy moorland grass. She couldn't believe her luck and saw a perfect feather hiding beneath the snow. Birdflight plucked the feather and raced back to camp her long legs helping reach camp in seconds. She trotted up to the kits and mewed, "Here's a feather. Me and my brothers used to play this game where one of us threw it into the air and whoever caught it won but my brothers tackled each other for the feather." She mewed purring. "You can also play moss ball as well!"
She turned back to the others looking more serious and mewed, "So on the bait patrol will be myself, Windystorm, Lightningstorm, Frozenglare, and Gingerblaze. Dawnstorm, you can take Flamesoul, Sparkflame, Rockpetal, Cloudsong. Grasswhisker, take your sibling out hunting and you and Dawnstorm can arrange a time to meet up and you can switch patrols. Dawnstorm at that time you can either learn how to catch an eagle or hawk or go hunting. If you decide to go hunting take someone with you just in case. Sound good?" She mewed turning to the others a hopeful smile on her face.

"Not saying this'll happen," Gingerblaze cut in, "but say we're starving, you wouldn't ask for other prey? We'd starve!" Her voice was calm; plainly curious. The she-cat's eyes looked down at the kits, a quiet purr escaping her throat about attacking An eagle. Kits are such a joy, I don't know what we'd do without them. Her forest green eyes lit up, a playful hint could be seen in them. "Yes! You're going down!"

The kits stared at the feather. Suddenly Riverkit lunged for it. Then it was an all out war. The kits were frantic trying to get the feather.

Sagedapple blinked gratefully at Birdflight. She would never forget Fernleaf, but the WindClan deputy was right. Her Clan needed her most right now, with the promises of coughing and sickness. "Thanks," Sagedapple sighed. "You're the best." Shaking out her tabby fur, she craned her neck, searching for a certain feiry ginger pelt. "Flamesoul!" An orange striped head bobbed into view as her son headed over to her. "Where you listening?" Sagedapple's eyes narrowed as Flamesoul hesitated. "Most of the time," he said at last. Then he grinned and bounced to his paws. "But I'm going hunting now. See you later!" Sagedapple sighed again as the lean warrior raced away. He would never listen. She stoood and trailed after the others, reluctant to leave the action. A warrior at heart, Sagedapple never liked to miss out of the 'fun stuff.'

Birdflight purred and mewed, "No problem Sagedapple. Glad I could help." She mewed smiling. She giggled as she watched the kits, then she turned to Gingerblaze and mewed, "Anything is entertaining when your a kit." She watched for a couple more moments then responded to the warrior's question. "First off, were not going to starve, and second I myself am pretty... er stubborn but if it were the best thing for my clan I would ask another clan I suppose but we won't be doing that. We have plenty of ideas to get prey, I think we'll be good this leaf-bare." She mewed reassuringly.

As Rainkit easvsdropped, she saw Birdflight's tail twitching... again. "Return of the Fluffytwig!" She pounced on poor Birdflight's tail.

Windystorm placed the nuts onto the ground, making sure not to lose them in the snow. "Stubborn as a badger!" He added, flicking his tail. "Er, in a good way." I don't like the idea... It makes us look weak and we'd be in another clan's debt. He thought, glancing at the prey-heap. If it was best for the clan though, he'd do it in a heartbeat. "Don't forget we have other problems too," Windystorm reminded them, "Not sure if it's just my pelt or if it's very cold outside. We'll all get sick if we don't reinforce the dens. We can't just wait for our fur to grow out." He meowed, gingerly picking up the bait as to not rip the leaves he was using to carry them. "Shall we?"

Birdflight felt a small pain in her tail and she sighed and flicked her tail out of the kits reach. "Theres Fluffytwig number 2!" She whispered jerking her head in the direction of Windystorm's tail that was flicking side to side and she smirked. The tom wasn't paying attention and wouldn't see Rainkit pounce. "You should attack Fluffytwig 2 before he notices." She advised urgently and she smiled at the kit.

"Yes! Fluffytwig 2, aka Poofystick, shall never see daylight again!" She bounded onto Windystorm's unfortunante tail. "This is for Fluffytwig!" She proclaimed, and lunged for his tail with her teeth.
