When the Death-Bringers lose, they will be...
Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD
First topic message reminder :
The Life-Givers leader is dead. The group is in chaos, each blaming another for their failure in the battle. They are breaking up, each day heralding another empty room, another person's belongings missing. People are leaving, hoping to find a way to exact revenge on the Death-Bringers, to hide from the devastating aftermath of the battle, or simply to escape from the furious accusations hurled from person to person. But still some people remain in their stronghold.
The Death-Bringers are victorious in the battle. Few had died, and almost none of the injuries were fatal. The future seemed bright for the chaos-makers. But barely two days had passed since the war when their scouts got wind of strangers knocking on the Life-Givers' fortress's door. They all wore steel gray cloaks, armed with longbows and knives. Wolves accompanied them, a couple falcons perching on their shoulders. They were dangerous. Strange. Mysterious.
The Hunters tell the Life-Givers that they come from a far land. They had traveled far and wide, and their only response to their questions were that they had to leave their home land. Hoping the Hunters would provide the remaining Life-Givers a way to get their revenge, they offered to provide room and board for the weary travelers for as long as they wished. It as accepted. The longer the Life-Givers stayed around the Hunters, the more they could see the strange differences between the two groups. After all, every Hunter was immortal.

He emits a quiet aura of power, although he hardly smiles, and a smile that contains actual humor is even rarer. Surprisingly strong, he is agile and fast on his feet. Sardonic and cynical, he has a deep vein of dry humor in him despite his outward appearance of seriousness and dangerousness. Around mid-twenties in age.
Primary Power: Never miss a target
Other: Halt is well-respected and has a dangerous and fearful reputation. He is a master stragetist, although he is indefinitely impatient. He constantly carries a massive longbow with a ninety-pound draw weight, and two knives.

Group: Hunters
Rank: Deputy
Description: tall, athletic girl with dark green eyes and long, glossy black hair and skin that looks tanned year-round. She is strong from her intense training with her fellow Hunters; skilled in the art of archery and a well-known expert with the sword. She is more friendly and trusting then her friends, although she is very observant and can come down harsh when the need arises.
Primary Power: Power negation/augmentation: the ability to cancel or strengthen/weaken others powers
Other: The sword Sala had used was actually Cadence's. It is one of the most valuable swords in the world, made with the best material. Cadence had been in the Life-Bringer's group a decade or so before, but she left mysteriously to join the Hunters. She had accidentally left her precious sword behind, and Sala had taken it up for her own.

The sun was setting over the mountains, the dying rays of sunlight flooding the fortress, seeping like honey through the open windows. It was chilly, but the sunlight provided the bit of warmth to warm the large building. The Hunters stood in the living room, their wolves casually circling the two groups. The remaining Life-Givers faced the strangers they had welcomed into their home, wary.
After the hour of lengthy explanations, the two groups stood awkwardly, still wary with each other. Finally deciding to break the thick tension that had sprung up between them, Cadence looked at the Life-Givers with interest. "You mean there were much more people here before?" "Yes. They went away after the war with the Death-Bringers," a girl explained, fidgeting nervously with the knife sheathed in her belt. "Some of those who left had strong powers," a young boy said wistfully. "We're weaker now."
Cadence smiled and laughed. Her fellow Hunters eyed her oddly, but Cadence liked these people. "Some of us have powers too. Not many of us have magic in our blood, but those who do are extremely powerful. I have a power myself." She paused and added, "One of the us back in our home land could even bring back the dead."

Ike. Life-Bringers Member. A young-looking guy with light-colored brown hair that looks red in the sun. Ike has brown-green eyes and short, but slightly messy, hair. He always has an optimistic look on his face and eyebrows often lowered in a michevious way. Ike can multiply himself to make up to 50 clones of himself at the same time. This also means he can do 50 different things and be at 50 different places at the same time. His clones are just like him, only weaker, dumber, and easier to kill. Once someone has killed a clone, Ike can't re-make him, and with each clone killed, he gets weaker. When the last clone is killed, Ike is extremely weak and vulnerable. If he only makes less than 50 though, he is capable of fighting back or running when all are killed. He will still be weakened though. Ike is extremely clever and he has been ever since he was young. He looks young and inexperienced, but because he knows his life is at stake if his clones die, he is very wary and usually only makes a few clones at first.
Chrysler. Life-Givers Member/Mechanic. A tan, strong buy who looks about 17 years old. He has pale blond hair and surprisingly bright green eyes, which have a curious gleam. Chrysler has a faded, slightly jagged scar across his cheek from when he injured himself while playing with his father's tools. Chrysler's hair is sometimes on end from the static, and he may be covered in wood shavings or soot, but he likes it. Superior building and mechanical abilities, along with the power to drain and use any energy/electricity in any way he'd like. Chrysler was named after a car that his father never added to his old collection. He is physically capable of taking care of himself and fighting due to his strength, but is generally shy and sheepish.

Cerminia a.k.a Mini. Life-Givers Member. A Filipino girl with long black hair and dark brown eyes. She has tannish skin. Super Speed She doesn't really like to fight with weapons. She used her super speed to help with hand=to=hand combat
Cassandra. Life-Givers Apprentice. She has long blond hair and blue eyes. She is 15 years old. She enjoyes playing jokes on others with her powers, and is very friendly. She hopes she can become a member soon. She can change her appearence. (height, hair style/color, eye color, voice, ect.) .
Hunters:
- Spoiler:
- Ryder. Hunters Leader. Short, dark-haired girl with blue eyes. Can radiate fear (when you look in her eyes), melt into shadows, dim lights when in a bad mood. Very exhausted after fighting, though. CheeseStar~

She is strong, agile, and swift from her intense training with her fellow Hunters; skilled in the art of archery and a well-known expert with the sword. She is more friendly and trusting then her friends, although she is very observant and can come down harsh when the need arises. Power negation/augmentation: the ability to cancel or strengthen/weaken others powers. The sword Sala had used was actually Cadence's. It is one of the most valuable swords in the world, made with the best material. Cadence had been in the Life-Bringer's group a decade or so before, but she left mysteriously to join the Hunters. She had accidentally left her precious sword behind, and Sala had taken it up for her own.
Riley. Hunters member. Pretty blond girl with blue eyes, though far from girly. Shape-shifter.
Kiba. Hunters member. A tall boy with fairly tan skin, messy brown hair, and black, or very dark brown, eyes. Kiba has pointed canines, like fangs, claw-like nails, and sharp black eyes with vertical slit-like pupils. He has a thing for face-paint, and two red fangs are painted over his cheeks, symbols that belong to his family. Kiba is often short-tempered and impulsive, and the fact that he enjoys combat, as well as a habit of showing a joyful smile when facing a particularly strong opponent, means that he is willing to risk his life and is a bit bloodthirsty. He looks about 16 years old. Kiba is very agile and quick, can run on all fours, jump like a cat, and is a master of daggers and throwing knives. He does pretty well with longswords too, though this doesn't mean that he's afraid of fighting in hand-to-hand combat; in fact, he prefers it because it gives him the advantage. He thinks that enemies that hide themselves are cowards. Kiba gets along generally well with both the Death Giver and the Life Bringers, though he doesn't say much about either. He has a Great Pyrenees named Bai, meaning 'clear' or 'white' for his fur. Kiba's name means 'fang', which suits his beast-like actions. Bai always joins in Kiba in his battles; the two are inseparable. Kiba also is very good at animal imitation and envys those that have powers.
Olivia. Hunters apprentice. A short 12 year old girl with short wavy light brown hair and hazel eyes. Often gets into trouble and is very friendly. No Power She has a young falcon named Swoop, and a wolf pup named Blaze.
*Note: A poll has been set up! To go with the story line, the Death-Bringers will lose the war... But it will also cost the Hunters and the Life-Givers, to make it fair. But you guys will decide how badly the Death-Bringers lose!

Re: Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD
Suddenly Riley had an idea. "What if... May I see that?" She reached for the gold coin and stuied the finely crafted detail for a moment, then flipped the coin into the air. She held her breath as she watched it spin, wondering if her theory was correct.
Eclipse saw Tenebris looking their way. That's Tenebris, the adolescent she-wolf told Orpheous. Tenebris, this is Orpheous. She gazed at the two, suddenly worried that they would fight.

Cadence gazed at Riley as she flipped the gold coin, not quite sure what she was hoping to accomplish. Turning her head ever so slightly, the Hunter turned her gaze back to the stranger and frowned. Why wouldn't he give his name? It was awkward not knowing what to call him.
Tenebris narrowed his blue-gray eyes and his triangular ears angled forward in a vaguely hostile gesture. So he is. His rough voice was as flat and hard as the sheet of ice coating the frigid waters below when the river was frozen. Tenebris's eyes slid over to Eclipse, softening momentarily before he stood and trotted away from them to lay down by Cadence. His head dropped to his paws, the expression on his face almost melancholy as he instead focused on staring at Riley.

~haha idk either I was thinking it might be like Jason's sword in the Lost Hero. Is it supposed to do anything?~
Eclipse's shoulders sagged as she watched the large wolf trot away. She was torn between him, her old friend, and Orpheous, the interesting wolf she'd found. She hoped they wouldn't tear each other apart; she liked them both and didn't want to choose yet.

Re: Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD
Eli felt Candence's gaze but ignored it, leaning aginst the wall and staring out into the sunny morning with a grimace. With a twitch of his hand, clouds covered the rising sun and darkened, sprinkling rain about. A satisfied smile covered his features. He loved rain. The crystal like droplets intrigued him to no end though he knew they were but water.
Orpheous looked squarely at Tenebris and raised his tail dominantly with a low snarl. Be sure to stay out of my path. he growled menacingly.
Eli whistled sharply twice, signaling for his wolf to come. And he did. Opheous gave one more hotile rumble and stomped to Eli's side, broad shoulders squared and standing tall. He hated fellow male wolves. They always thought themselves superior. However, they soon found it to be false.

"Of course," Zephyra replied, "but let me think about it for one night." She entered the living room, then stopped in surprise. There was a stranger, a boy, standing tere with the Hunters. And Kiba was nowhere to be seen. "You... control water too?" she asked warily.

Eli slowly turned to look at Zephyra. "No. Weather...rain,lightning, snow, hail...that kinda thing. Clouds, storms." He explained, turning back to the window with a bored frown. His hood had fallen to reveal his messy locks which were quite hilariously everywhere. He didn't seem to notice.

Zephyra nodded slowly. He could make a good ally... "Someone tell me what happened." As Riley began again to recount the story of their mission, Zephyra nodded, listening carefully. She looked at Riley's sketched map. "I believe we will find a weakness in their fortress. it can't be perfect..." her voice trailed off at she stared at the gold coin. "That," she added, motioning toward it, "could somehow be useful, I feel..."

Re: Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD
Tenebris snarled in reply to Orpheous's growl. Sometimes he could be described as reckless, but he was merely confident. And cautious to a certain degree. He was almost as large as the other male wolf, but size didn't mean everything. Tenebris's bushy tail lifted in a silent challenge of dominance. A smarter wolf would've run at that point from seeing the danger in his eyes. His father had been the biggest wolf almost anyone had ever seen, and his mother had been one of the fiercest fighters raised in the Hunter academy. Tenebris had inherited her mother's cunning and fierce mind, and his father's size had been passed down to him, even though his mother had affected how large he had gotten. Unlike most other Hunter wolves who were trained to track, scout, hunt, guard, or chase, Tenebris had been specially trained as a war "weapon". He understood that only very few wolves had been trained as such.
~Lighty, what've Tenebris and Orpheous are actually littermates? :O They had the same father and mother, but they were separated at birth to train in their different "schools".~
"Tenebris." Cadence's voice was quiet, yet firm. "Not now." She clicked her tongue and pointed to the ground beside her. Tenebris rumbled ominously, but he stood, padding soundlessly over so he was on the other side of Cadence, closer to Riley and farther away from Eli. Cadence looked up to gaze at Zephyra as soon as Tenebris stopped beside her.

(Sounds cool! And they turn out to be not JUST bros, but best friends?)
Orpheous had been trained like the others, however, he had recieved more training for guarding and fighting since he was to have a royal master. The wolf glared at Tenebris but wouldn't attack even if attacked. Something about the wolf seemed familiar.
Eliarched an eyebrow and lean down to stare at his wolf. "Hmmm.....Candence....do yiu by any chance have Tenebris's papers?" He asked thoughtfully, digging in his pockets for Orpheous's. He strode to Tenebris and crouched face to face with the wolf, staring at him. He stroked the brute's ears as he did so to show he was not gonna hurt him.

Eclipse nosed the black wolf. Don't mind Tenebris, I think today might be one of his bad days, she said sympathetically, missing the way Orpheous studied the other wolf.
"Papers?" Riley frowned. She didn't remember having a document for Eclipse. Realizing she'd said that out loud, she made an embarrassed gesture. "Sorry. Continue."

Cadence frowned. "I do," she said after a moment of hesitation. "I always keep documents like that with me. Why do you ask?" She got up off the sofa, looking in puzzlement at Eli where he was stroking Tenebris. The large black wolf had gotten still, his blue-gray eyes fixed on the stranger's face. Even though he was tensed, he made no move to attack or shirk from the unfamiliar man. Cadence glanced at Orpheous, then back at Tenebris, concentration making her face tight. Suddenly, she turned and approached Orpheous a little warily, one hand reaching out to stroke his head. Cadence allowed him to sniff her fingers first, before she made any move to touch him.

Orpheous sniffed her hand and licked it with a friendly bark.
Eli pulled out his copy of Orpheous's papers and set it on the table. On them were his name and the Royal stamp. The name there was Prince Eli Mitchel Corbet. He had strucka line through the word 'prince'. It stated Orpheous's parents' names: Cerberus and Medusa along with their other pups, Malikai and Tenebris. "They're siblings." Eli smiled, forgetting his name was on the papers. Patting Tenebris, he stood.

Riley frowned and leaned in to look at the document. "Interesting... wait, PRINCE Eli Mitchel Corbet?!!" Startled, she stepped back, then lunged forward to pin Eli to the wall. "You said you were against royalty!" she hissed. "I knew you were a traitor!"
Eclipse whined, worried. She wanted to tell her leader the boy wasn't royal; he didn't even have royal scent. But she couldn't At last she leapt forward and tugged at Riley's jacket, pulling her away. He's not royalty! At least not any more!

"Stop!" Cadence's voice was like a whipcrack, and she had jumped to her feet in a second. "Hold yourself, Riley." She stepped forward, getting an iron grip on the Hunter's arm. "Don't jump to conclusions." Her voice was quiet and firm as she beckoned Tenebris to her side. Cadence frowned and looked steadily at Eli. "Explain yourself, would you?"
Tenebris rumbled as he stopped beside Ecplise. He still remebered how the Royalty smelled. Always with some sweet flowery scent or artifical odor. The stranger smelled only of the forest, faintly of woodsmoke and water. No, he isn't Royal, he agreed, nosing Cadence.

Ryder had been sitting quietly, digesting the information as it was told. The gold coin was interesting. She was still questioning Kiba, though she felt a bit of disappointment. Then, when Riley shouted out, she couldn't comprehend it. Royalty...? If he was royalty why would he want to join since we left home...? To spy? But to track us all the way here without us knowing it..
"Please tell the truth, Eli. You are surrounded by Hunters, any way, so it'd be wise to do so," she finally said.

(Jeff! No! XD)
Jack looked puzzled when Zephyra didn't answer him at alll, it seemed the Hunters were a constant discration for the leader. He walked away from the area he had been speaking with her. The wind grew faster with his anger. He looked around hoping to find Ryder or Cadence, he wanted to catch up on everything going on in the fortress, he seemed to be lagging in information.

Eli sighed with a deep grimace. "Im such an idiot." He mumbled to himself. Then, louder, he explained himself. "I am the King's illegitimate son....well one of them. My twin, Jonah is also. We have been hidden and trained all our lives. They seperated us at birth. Jonah was sent to the Death-Bringers. He can control lightning. I had a 'greater' power and was kept to be harshly tought everything I could in order to destroy all of the 'traitors' of the kingdom. I left after being trained and followed you guys because I disagree with my tyrant of a father and hate his guts.....thays all..." his eyes were dark with hatred for his father. "Even if you don't believe me, I'm still going to help." Eli didn't seem surprised by their reactions and actually smiled at them.

Riley stepped back slowly. The story had some truth to it. Though she still didn't believe he was aginst royalty, she did believe he could help them. Like he said, Eli had a powerful skill, and he would definitely make a good ally.
Zephyra stared in confusion. "Am I... missing something?"
See, I told you. Eclipse nudged her leader smugly, then went to sit by Orpheus.

Ryder nodded slowly. "So you are willing to eliminate your father." She couldn't believe this was that dirty rat's son. He seemed so much less intimidating: charming, almost. "I'm still skeptical, but we'll need all the help we can get."
(lol wolf party )Umbre whimpered at Ryder's feet. He sniffed once and she snuck him a treat through her shawl. He looked hopefully at the others.

Re: Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD
Tenebris twitched his ears and padded several feet away to sit beneath the fake tree that decorated the corner of the room. The plastic leaves cast dappled light onto his fur as he stood quietly, head cocked to one side. Wasn't the Jonah character killed in the last fight with the Life-Givers?
Cadence sighed. "So you were also highly trained." That explains why he could follow us that far, she thought silently, and looked at Eli with new respect. Shaking her head at their own distrust of outsiders, the Hunter bent over the table, her forefinger tracing the letters as she read. "Cerberus and Medusa? Malikai..." Cadence straightened suddenly, hurrying to where Tenebris stood. Behind him was a leather bag, the satchel containing most of the documents Cadence had. She slid the catch open and rummaged around for a moment, then withdrew with a folder. Quietly, Cadence scanned the paper once before walking over and handing Eli the document with Tenebris's information, her fingers accidentally brushing his wrist. She flinched and stepped back, backing up a couple paces where Eclipse and Orpheous sat.

"Of course I'd kill that oaf he is nothing close to a father to me." Eli snorted, steely eyes honest. "I'll give you all the proof of my loyalty you want." He announced determinedly. Takig the papers unflinchingly, his stormy gaze scanned the document swiftly. "Thought so." He nodded with satisfaction.
A confused Orpheous stared questioningly to Tenebris, wondering if he knew what was going on with the papers. He sat close to Eclipse so that their tails overlapped eachother, turning his stare to his paws thouhtfully.

Re: Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD
Tenebris's ears twitched ever so slightly, his gaze darkening when he saw how close Orpheous was sitting to Eclpse. The large wolf rumbled, turning away to stare at Cadence, who was approaching him again. Tenebris nosed her hand as she bent down to stroke his ears. "You're brothers with Orhpeous. What about that?" Her voice was barely audible, a breathed whisper, but his keen ears picked it up easily. Brothers? Disbelief rang in his growl. That can't be true. Tenebris's clear blue-gray gaze cut over to Orpheous, piercing and unreadable. Missing his incredulity, Cadence patted him swiftly and replaced the papers back into the satchel before returning to stand by Riley and Ryder. Tenebris hesitated, then trotted out of his corner and past Umbre as he left the room. He couldn't believe that the self-righteous black wolf was his brother. Tenebris sighed, his warm breath huffing out as hetook his regular post by the front windows. Moonlight streamed in through the glass, briefly illuminating his broad-shouldered figure before he settled into the shadows. Cadence would find him when she needed her. But of course, he would come running if she ever called him...

Eclipse shivered with pleasure at the contact. Her fur brushed Orpheous's, and she could almost hear her own heartbeat.
"Brothers?" Riley couldn't believe it either. Orpheous was a totally foreign wolf to her. Yet she couldn't help remembering the feeling of familiarity when she first saw Orpheous.
"Right, whatever, can we discuss battle tactics?" Zephyra was missing the importance of the situation.

"Right," Ryder sighed. "So, how did your mission go? Did you find any exits or entrances? If you somehow found a way into the interior of the fortress, then that would be great." She glanced at Orpheous, seeing some small similarities between the two wolves. At least they're both on our side, she thought.
