Moonbear's Farm
First topic message reminder :
Intro: Welcome to Moonbear's barn [and surrounding area]. Moonbear is a loner/ farm cat who wants some companionship. He is more than happy to help any cat in need of a home, food and/or love.
Here is what he looks like:
Moonbear, a black and white tom with aqua eyes, was resting by the stream after having a delicious meal of fish. Life for him was good; a great beautiful place to live, with lots to eat, and little to worry about. Though his stomach was always full, his heart occasionally ached with loneliness.

Re: Moonbear's Farm
The fur on Raven's back bristled, and there was a battle inside her as she wondered what to say. "Have fun with that," she replied coldly to the black and white tom, and jumped down as he left, landing soundlessly on the floor, "with your girlfriend." She finished as he was out of earshort. There were clear claws coming out of the dark gray paws and she scratched the ground.
"Oh! May I come with you?" Brian followed them out, tail quivering in excitement. He looked at his two front declawed paws, and wondered if he should say anything. Pushing away that thought, he ran towards the calico she-cat. "Hope I'm not.. interrupting anything.." he looked at the two, wondering if there was anything going on.

Re: Moonbear's Farm
Wolf flicked his tail at Raven's paw, and bumped her with his shoulder as she bounced up to the hay loft. Laughing quietly, he nodded at the newcomers. "I'm actually not mean," he meowed in amusement. Wolf rose to his paws, green eyes flashing, his pupils dilating as he accidentally glanced into the sun. Shaking his head to clear the blinding flash, Wolf retreated deeper into the barn, as Raven's cold voice reached his ears. "Raven?" Wolf shook his head again and looked at the gray-black she-cat.;

"Did you say hunting?" Sun asked. "I know some really great spots where theres lots of prey around here!" he said. "Can I come with you and show you?" He glanced back towards Raven and wondered why she was upset.

Re: Moonbear's Farm
"What?" Raven replied, the sorrow returning to her voice. She motioned with a gray-black tail for him to sit next to her. Her face was buried in her paws as she didn't want anyone else but Wolf to see her sad. Her tail lashed back and forth, sending hay down from the hay loft she was laying on. Her claws were unsheathed and tearing at the hay beneath her. The dark gray flank was rising and falling quickly and quite a lot; she was crying. But softly, because you couldn't hear it unless you were right next to her. The pain going through this she-cat was more intense than anyone could imagine as all of her stealing scenes played back in her mind. I can't take it, she thought. I have to tell Wolf.. Even if he'll hate me. I have to. I hope he doesn't hate me, though..

"Sure...You guys can come.." Cherry mewed happily and then she added "You’re not interrupting anything!" Then she looked happily at Moonbear and purred "Ready to go??" she asked, and shuffled on her paws in eager excitement and waited for his response.

"What's wrong?" Wolf scooted over to her and licked her ears. It pained him to see anyone so sad, and he'd seen the same look of pain in Panther's eyes when he told her about Tiger's betrayal. For some reason, he thought maybe that's why Panther vanished into the mountain... so it was his fault. Pushing the depressing thoughts away, Wolf pressed himself against Raven's shuddering body. She was chased by some memory... but which one and why?

"Yes," Moonbear purred excitedly as he nuzzled her. "Let's go before the Sun gets too high. Afterwards we could cool off by the stream or something." He walked towards the field and turned to the other toms. "It might be best if we split up while hunting." He looked at Cherry and mewed instructively. "Now since you have no claws, you'll have to rely on using your weight to pin down your prey, and your teeth to kill it."

~Berry now lives at Moonbear's Farm! Her sister live on a farm nearby! ~
Berry saw Wolf and Raven playing together and stopped on her tracks. She sighed and padded slowly towards a patch of hay. She laid down and thought, No one likes me... No one will ever love me, either... rested her head on her paws, looking around at the other cats.

Re: Moonbear's Farm
"I think I might.. watch.." Brian said, shuffling his paws in embarassment. "I don't have any front claws. But I have back claws," He unsheathed his back claws, and waited to get bullied like all the other kittypets did. But he was still happy to have met someone who was nice to him in the beginning, though it probably wouldn't end well. He looked at the calico she-cat, waiting for that disgusted expression and to get pushed away. But, his calm and sweet demeanor didn't allow him to act like that, so he pushed it away and once again had a warm smile upon his face. As the sun caught on his honey colored collar, it made his eyes seem even prettier as they stood out from his long chocolate brown fur.
"He just.. doesn't understand.. like you do.. and it hurts.. he keeps.." Raven replied sadly, and looked up at Wolf. She nuzzled him, and licked his cheek. "You're a great friend. And I know you better than Moonbear.." The gray-black she-cat said, afraid to look up at the tom after what she did. Raven was so afraid to see anger or.. anything in those pretty green eyes, after all she'd been through, especially that she probably just ruined her friendship with Moonbear and/or Wolf. But at least Cherry would be happy if things didn't work out.. the thought of her choices actually making someone happy for once gave her the bravery to look up at Wolf.

Berry sighed and decided to go meet the cats. She padded over to Brian and meowed, "Hi! I'm Berry!" Berry didn't want to look depressed. She just stared into his golden eyes. She smiled at him, waiting to hear what his name was.

Wolf was surprised, but felt unexpectedly pleased by Raven's words. He returned the gesture and nudged her affectionately on the neck. "You're a great friend too." A low purr rolled out from his chest. His green eyes were bright and soft at t same time, and he looked pleased and happy. "You don't know everything.... But I want to tell you."

“It’s ok Brian. I don’t have any claws either.” Cherry mewed kindly, then she looked at Sun and Brian and Berry and she suggested softly “Maybe Brian, Sun and Berry should hunt together. Sun can teach them the area and Berry can help Brian learn new hunting techniques.” Looking at the way Berry smiled and drooled over Brian, she padded up and whispered “Sorry about fighting with you last night…but looks like you have a crush on someone!” then she winked and turned toward Moonbear and smiled affectionately and she mewed “So..I need to use my weight, speed, and my teeth to hunt instead of using my claws?” she asked, looking at Moonbear questioningly. ”Wow! My first time hunting! I’m so excited!! I hope I catch something….With Moonbear teaching me I know I will catch something!!”

Re: Moonbear's Farm
"I'm Brian!" He replied happily, turning to the cream she-cat. "Would you like to be my hunting partner?" Brian asked sweetly, as she was pretty and the other cat was a tom. He didn't like to work with toms; most of them are impatient. But, having upwalkers, he was gentle and soft. Also weak. "If you are, I have to tell you, I'm declawed in my front two paws," he showed her that he tried to unsheathe them, and nothing came out. He looked down at her, golden eyes friendly and sweet. The chocolate brown tom's golden eyes surveryed the territory carefully. If she accepted, he'd want to go to the more foresty area, since there was probably more prey there.. at least that's what he thought.
~Brian did not hear any of Cherry's words~
Raven licked Wolf's cheek, and started purring louder. Her royal blue eyes looked up at him, confusion evident. She cocked her head to the side, her ears drooping a little. "I have something to tell you, too.. but you can go first," her fear grasped her as she waited for him to tell what he wanted to talk about, worried about her turn, and mostly, his reaction. She gulped, but it was unnoticable to anyone but her.

Berry nodded at Cherry, telling her she forgave her. She looked at Brian and meowed, "That's ok... I can still be your hunting partner!" She looked a Brian, her sea-green eyes sparkling. She smiled at him sweetly, and meowed, "Ready?" She looked him and thought, He won't like me... soon enough he'll ask me to leave...

Brian looked at the two she-cats, wondering what they were talking about. But he decided it was none of his business. The chocolate brown tom stifled a yawn; he'd usually be taking a nap at this time. But he couldn't afford to look any stupider, as he already would since he doesn't have any claws. Pushing away his weariness, he looked back at the cream she-cat. "Where do you want to hunt? I'm sure you'll know the best place to hunt," He replied friendly, his golden eyes looking around to see where he thought would be the best place to hunt. He still chose the forest, since he had always seen the cats with claws come back from the forest with tons of prey. "I think the forest would be best in my opinion."

"You're right, but it's best to hunt by the stream, since every living thing needs water." Berry meowed. Maybe he'll end up liking me...? Nah, probably not. She looked at Brian's golden eyes once more and meowed, "Ready to go?"

Re: Moonbear's Farm
Wolf paused for a moment, then he began, "I wasn't alone before. I had siblings. Two. Panther was the one I was closest to. You look alot like her, except the fact that her blue eyes had a green-ish edge, and her fur was pure black except for a moon shaped patch of fur on her shoulder. Tiger was the oldest. He was bossy and stubborn, preferring to stay home as Panther and me traveled all over the place. We were happy actually.... But then Tiger betrayed me. I always felt like he hated me for some reason. He tried to kill me, but I escape, except for this scar." Wolf shifted to show the long, crescent shaped scar on his shoulder, that was covered with his long fur. "I didn't tell Panther.... since she was close with Tiger as well... But finally when we were traveling over the mountains, I finally blurted it out that Tiger had vanished into the unknown. Panther was hurt, and especially angry that I had kept it from her. She avoided me the rest of the day, as we were resting for a day or two before restarting out journey--well at any rate... The next day, she was gone.' Wolf hung his head. "I tracked her scent to the cliffs, and to a deep chasm. Her scent stopped there. It's my fault that killed both my littermates. And my fault that our parents died too... but I'm not going into that." He shifted away, ashamed.

"That's right," Moonbear mewed happily. "I'm sure you'll do good. Just follow my example. Though this is kinda my first time trying this method too, but I'm sure we'll do fine." Moonbear opened his mouth and began taking in the scent of prey around the field.

Re: Moonbear's Farm
"Right," Brian replied, now feeling stupider than ever. He pricked his ears as he heard trickling water, and started to run towards it. His chocolate brown head turned back towards Berry, "Come on!" He yowled playfully, racing ahead as fast as he could. Brian was a very fast cat, with slender long legs. His muscles flexed as he ran, the sun's rays shining on his fur.
Raven was now sure she shouldn't tell Wolf, but what else would she say? The dark gray she-cat scooted closer to Wolf again, and licked his face. "Well.. I'm sorry that happened.. but it isn't your fault Tiger betrayed you. And you were just not telling her because you didn't want to hurt her. That might not have been the best choice, but your heart was in the right place," Unlike mine.. she thought. Raven licked his cheek, and put her head under his chin like she did before. "My turn now, I guess.." Raven gulped, pulling away from Wolf. "I.. used to become.. friends with cats, then.. the next morning I would leave with all of their prey. But.. I know that's wrong now.. I was so jacked up then.." She said sadly, shifting her paws. Raven nuzzled Wolf, and licked his cheek. "Please.. don't hate me.. I'm not like that anymore.." She stuttered, looking up at his beautiful teal green eyes, hers watering with tears.

Berry laughed and raced after him. She thought for a second and meowed, "Brian! Sh! We're going to scare off all the prey!" She laughed and padded up to Brian, all jumpy and happy. Hopefully he'll like me and appreciate my help... Like no one else here.

“Ok. I bet together we can figure this hunting method out!” Cherry purred and padded after Moonbear. Opening her jaws, she inhaled the sweet scents of the day and also many different prey scents such as mice, vole, and many different types of birds. ”I can’t wait until we catch something! Then I can show it off….but to who? OH well! Who cares?! Out here hunting with my new favorite friend here…who knew life could be so good?” she purred inwardly and then she realized the tauntingly yummy scent of mice was filling her jaws and she stopped to look at Moonbear. “Moonbear…I think there is a couple of mice nearby, want to hunt them?” she asked excitedly.

Re: Moonbear's Farm
Wolf was surprised, yet he could understand in some ways. When traveling, Panther and him would often have to visit some kittypet or loner's farm or house. Equally often, the cats would refuse to give them prey, even a single measely mouse. Wolf would often steal out of spite then, even as Panther discouraged the practice. But she never complained after she'd eaten her fill of the stolen prey. "I understand," Wolf murmured. "And I would never hate you. You're a good friend." He'd been hungry enough to steal prey those times too. And once or twice, Wolf had to take prey from kittypets/loners during a famine. The two littermates traveled hard, and an empty stomach meant no energy, which in turn meant they could not walk far... Wolf fidgeted and rested his jaw lightly on Raven's neck, a thought occuring to him like a flash of lightning in stormy black rainclouds. What if Panther was alive? She was never the kind to hold a severe grudge against any of her littermates.

"Really?" Raven's royal blue eyes were overjoyed, and it was obvious. She nuzzled Wolf, and licked his ear. "Thanks. You're a great friend!" The black she-cat purred, and she began kneading the ground, the fear that had been clenching her stomach was slowly disappearing. Then the fear came back, even stronger, as she realized something.. she would have to tell Moonbear. But her ears flattened against her head and a growl rumbled from deep in her throat as she thought, Oh, well. He's been seeing Cherry, so who cares? As she realized that Wolf was probably wondering what was wrong, since he always was, she explained with one word: "Moonbear." Pushing the black and white tom out of her mind, she nuzzled Wolf again, purring.
Brian ran towards the stream, not hearing Berry. He stopped by the lake, mud splashing as he abruptly stopped. A fish jumped out of the water, and he jumped into the air, catching it in his jaws. The white fangs bit down until the body went limp. Brian spit out the fish, along with some of its sticky blood on the shore. "Come on! The water's co--I mean fine!" He faked stuttering, and splashed the cream she-cat, laughing sweetly. His fluffy tail was hanging down, and it looked like a chocolate brown fish it was so fluffy. The tom's golden eyes were bright, as he splashed her again.

Berry laughed, "SH! We're gonna scare off the prey!" She kept laughing, and fell in the stream. She looked stunned for a second, then laughed again. "Nice catch, by the way!" Berry called to Brian. She smiled at him, not wanting this moment to end. She got out of the water and shook herself, then meowed, "Ready to hunt?" I'm not... he won't want my help...

"You ssh!" Brian scolded playfully, and batted ar her with soft, sheathed chocolate brown paws. He put his paws on her head, and put all of his pressure on her. The water was itching the fur around his honey collar as he took his pressure off Berry. The honey collar was shining around his neck as the sun's rays caught it, bringing out the color in Brian's eyes. His fur was now soaked to his skin, making him look shorthaired. Brian dipped under the water, and caught an unknowing trout, biting it as hard as he could. Then he dropped it next to the other fish, licking his chops as he looked at the trout hungrily and greedily. Before Berry could see, he chewed up one of the trout. "Why'd you eat one of the fish?!" He accused her playfully.
