Okay! Two cats come from every Clan to join this expedition! Clan leaders are allowed!


Brightstar peers down at her assembled Clan. "All of the Clans are suffering from the lack of no rivers. I, and the other leaders have decided that two cats from each Clan will join the patrol upstream!" She pauses, then adds, "Maplestream, and I will go."

Strange.......

Brightstar scrambled into the elders' den. "Thornfur! Reedshine?" Two elders stumbled toward her. "Where's Pebblefur?" Brightstar asked frantically, catching Reedshine as she tripped. The green-eyed brown she-cat pointed with her tail and coughed as smoke swirled around them. "Over there, by the willow branch," she rasped. "He's unconscious. Tried to put out fire." Brightstar nodded quickly, and ordered, "Help Thornfur get over to Nightfrost and the queens. I'll get Pebblefur. Hurry!" As the two elders raced off as fast as they could, Brightstar bent over Pebblefur and grasped his scruff. Paws stumbling, she hurried out of camp.

Silverstream3655 follows, tripping over everyones tails.

Tawnypelt felt around the smouldering ashes and grabbed the coughing kit by the scruff and ran into some not-completely fiery direction. She didn't recognize the kit-the flames had singed its' fur and she couldn't tell which clan it came from. She could only smell that it was unconscious. And, well, not far from death.

I tried Thunderclan but the leader is never on.

Silver, I think we should join Shadowclan.

Silver, you can't follow me and Birhgtstar because you can't come onto RiverClan terriortry unless we let you. Go find Tawnyepelt or soemthing.

"Nightfrost!" Nightfrost heard a smokey old voice coming from around her. She whirled around, looking for the voice. It was so smokey, she couldn't see a thing, except Ripplefern attempting to breathe in clean air. Then, she saw a figure. Thornfur! Another figure approched. Reedshine! Brightstar must've sent them to me! NIghtfrost thought. OVer here!!! she thought and kicked a bit to let them locate her and the queen. They rushed over as fast as they could on their old paws. She twisted her head towards the crack in which Brightstar and her had come in from, and padded off with the cats following her.

Tawnypelt thought she saw some shimmery dark blobs in front of her, maybe about fifteen tail-lengths away. But the air was thick and gritty, her lungs seared trying to breathe it. (Oh yeah, why are we always in such pain in these RPGs?) Trying to hold onto the limp kit, she continued on.

Meanwhile...Ripplefern the queen, Nightfrost carrying Sagekit (mini version of Sagedapple? ), and Thornfur waded through knee-deep ashes to get to the river. Suddenly-"Where's my other kit?" Ripplefern shrieked.

Brightfern dragged Pebblefur through the camp entrance, choking on the acid fumes. Fire crackled around her. She knew that the camp would soon be encircled by leaping flames- blocking any entrance. Hurrying as fast as she could, Brightstar raced back toward the lake. Suddenly, she heard a pitiful cry, almost lost in the cries of panicked cats and roaring inferno. She dropped Pebblefur. "Cloudykit?!"(I don't know. Maybe Cloudystorm or Cloudyfoot?) She saw the smoky grey kit a few moments later, stumbling blindly toward the comfort of an adult cat. "Great StarClan!"Brightstar groaned. "How will I manage a kit and an elder?"

Oh wonderful, Tawnypelt thought as a blazing stick scorched her flank. The little kit squirmed for a moment then went slack. Heart pounding she broke free from the rising mass of greedy flames and saw the river at last. The rain had filled it up-but where't the rain now? Tawnypelt grumbled. She waded across and collapsed on the earth on the other side, and promptly fell asleep with the little kit snuggled next to her, hopefully still alive.

Silverstream is also by the stream, watching Tawnypelt. "Hello denmate." She called, her silver pelt shining in the light.

"Ok, Ill get your herbs, Echosong!" Icestar took off running towards the spot where the ShadowClan camp was. Panting, she swerved trees and fleeing cats until she reached the entance to ShadowClan's Medicine Cat Den. "Hey! Icestar!" Shadowstorm called out. "Shadowstorm! Evacuate the camp! Theres a fire! Cross the river!" Ice responded, her mouth full of herbs for Echosong. Shadowstorm nodded and started orginizing cats when Ice resumed her sprint back to the forest.

~Hey! Won't someone help me?~

~Um, Silver, I was unconscious. And I'm not sure we were denmates, and you seem awfully calm for someone who saw a cat struggle out of the water with a kit and escape from a fire...~

While Tawnypelt was asleep...

Other cats made it through the fire, also collapsing in the dirt, exhausted. Medicine cats scrambled around to make sure no one was dying.

Tawnypelt woke up, and saw that Whitefire had taken care of the unknown kit. But, Brightstar and Nightfrost and several other cats were still missing.

Icestar returned, panting, with the herbs. "Here" She offered Echosong the herbs and rested by Tawneypelt.

"Hello, Iceclover!" Called Silverstream.
