Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD

The Life-Givers leader is dead. The group is in chaos, each blaming another for their failure in the battle. They are breaking up, each day heralding another empty room, another person's belongings missing. People are leaving, hoping to find a way to exact revenge on the Death-Bringers, to hide from the devastating aftermath of the battle, or simply to escape from the furious accusations hurled from person to person. But still some people remain in their stronghold.

The Death-Bringers are victorious in the battle. Few had died, and almost none of the injuries were fatal. The future seemed bright for the chaos-makers. But barely two days had passed since the war when their scouts got wind of strangers knocking on the Life-Givers' fortress's door. They all wore steel gray cloaks, armed with longbows and knives. Wolves accompanied them, a couple falcons perching on their shoulders. They were dangerous. Strange. Mysterious.

The Hunters tell the Life-Givers that they come from a far land. They had traveled far and wide, and their only response to their questions were that they had to leave their home land. Hoping the Hunters would provide the remaining Life-Givers a way to get their revenge, they offered to provide room and board for the weary travelers for as long as they wished. It as accepted. The longer the Life-Givers stayed around the Hunters, the more they could see the strange differences between the two groups. After all, every Hunter was immortal.

Description: lean, surprisingly short boy with long-ish black hair. His eyes are slate gray, unwavering and steady. He emits a quiet aura of power, although he hardly smiles, and a smile that contains actual humor is even rarer. Surprisingly strong, he is agile and fast on his feet. Sardonic and cynical, he has a deep vein of dry humor in him despite his outward appearance of seriousness and dangerousness. Around mid-twenties in age.

Other: Halt is well-respected and has a dangerous and fearful reputation. He is a master stragetist, although he is indefinitely impatient. He constantly carries a massive longbow with a ninety-pound draw weight, and two knives.

She is strong from her intense training with her fellow Hunters; skilled in the art of archery and a well-known expert with the sword. She is more friendly and trusting then her friends, although she is very observant and can come down harsh when the need arises.

Other: The sword Sala had used was actually Cadence's. It is one of the most valuable swords in the world, made with the best material. Cadence had been in the Life-Bringer's group a decade or so before, but she left mysteriously to join the Hunters. She had accidentally left her precious sword behind, and Sala had taken it up for her own.

*Note: A poll has been set up! To go with the story line, the Death-Bringers will lose the war... But it will also cost the Hunters and the Life-Givers, to make it fair. But you guys will decide how badly the Death-Bringers lose!

Amber was as stiff as a board. She smiled evilly for a second, then kicked Ryder in the gut as hard as she could. She growled, "Go. away." She freed herself and ran over to Tom's side, about to start crying. "T-Tom?" she whispered, "Tom, answer me...! Please don't go..." She started crying to death, then screamed, "JEREMY!!!"

I'm sorry." Tom whispered. "The cowards did me in." He lay back. "Try to survrive the rest of the war. I love you." His breathing slowed.
(They aren't cowards, but that is what Tom thinks of them.)

"No...No! You'll be fine. I promise. Where's Jeremy?!" Amber started freaking out, "Jeremy, we need you...! Anyone that can heal, HELP!" Amber was sitting by Tom's side, holding his hand between hers. She was crying, and whispered, "It will be ok..." She waited for a while, and then growled, "That's it." She swung Tom around her shoulder and ran around, looking for Jeremy. She finally found him, and said as cooly as possible, "Jeremy, heal Tom... please..."

~He's gonna live, right? O.o~

Tom fell mercifully into unconsciousness, his head lolling to one side.

Ryder had gripped the girl's ankle as it came toward her stomach, although he force of her kick was enough to twist her wrist. She cursed. It would be painful to use the hand to shoot arrows, so she pulled out her knife again and let her right arm hang loose by her side.

Jeremy let go of the knife he was holding "Amber! What's wrong?" he looked at his feet and his mouth fell open he got straight to work, the couldn't lose a Death-Brigner, not now!

Madison grabbed the Girl charging at her, the twisted went invisible and killed her in one blow. She slapped a dog and sliced its shoulder, she ordered Thorn to attack the nearest dog he could find, he attacked the dog with a sliced shoulder and they attacked a big group of kids- and their dogs.

Titus was running around frantically, then saw Madison. "Madison! We have to go! Now! We're going to run... with Amber and maybe someone else. I don't know, but we HAVE to leave!"

Amber whispered, "Will he be alright?" She couldn't loose the person she loved. Never. A tear managed to drop dow her cheek as she looked at Tom.

"Amber, you know I have done this before, Madison can tell you. He looked at his sister who was talking to Titus. He reached for the arrow and removed it carefully. He treated the wound and waited for Tom to awake.

Madison looked at Jeremy "What about Jeremy!" She whined.

"He can come to. We just need to run." Titus replied. He grabbed Madison's hand and stood my Amber and Jeremy.

Amber smiled. Tom was going to be ok! She said, "Should we run? Now? We'll be exposed if we just stand here like idiots." Titus nodded his head in agreement.

Jeremy shook his head "I can't come." He said "Come back after the battle, please?" Hr whimpered.

Madison shook her arm "Are we coming back? I cant leave the Death-Bringers."

"We're all going to end up splitting up into groups because of this. We have to go, now!" Amber said as Jake woke up. He started runnign towards them, and she said, "We need to run NOW!"

~How can you see an arrow and have time to turn? o.O ...oh wel. And remember people, the DBs are gonna lose. ~

cadence cursed the Death-Bringers under her breath, nocking another arrow in her bow. She glanced around, relieved that none of the Hunters were dead. There was a huddled group around the boy she had shot, and she frowned. Time for a little payback... Cadence aimed again, drawing th bowstring back to full draw. A moment later, another arrow was flying to a Death-Bringer's back.

Ambr turned around, and screamed, "EVERYBODY DUCK!" she got down on the ground, and so did Titus. Titus brought Madison down with him, and then Amber noticed Jeremy was still standing, and she yanked him down, and the arrow passed them. Amber helped Jeremy back up and Titus helped Madison, and Amber said, "Let's go now." She swung Tom around her shoulder and started running into the forest, Titus and Faith behind her, but then Titus stopped and screamed, "MADISON, LET'S GO!" At that moment Jake tackled Titus with a switchblade in his hand. He was about to stab him, but Titus punched him in the jaw, knocking him out again. He screamed again, "NOW!"

Olivia had been up in a tree during the battle, shoting at any deathbringer she saw. She couldn't shot as fast as the other hunters, but she could aim good. When most of her arrows were gone, she jumped down from the tree and her gold coin fell out of her pocket. She flipped it in the air for fun and as it hit her hand, it changed into a sword. She didn't have much training using swords, but she swung it at any death bringers near her.

Blaze was looking for more death-bringers to attack. He spotted a nearby death bringer (Halt) and he lunged at him.

Swoop flew around, diving down at and pecking at any deathbringers that were close enough.

Ryder noticed that a few of the Drath-Bringers had gathered in one place. They were now one big target. If the four combined their powers, they could be a problem. She pulled out another sack of beads, ones she didn't use very often, and threw one of them between their feet (poison gas ^^ it just makes you cough and if you don't get away fast enough you pass out with fever).

~Seriously guys, how do you dodge an arrow speeding at you like light? ._. You can't never get hurt you know. It just bothers me. *shrugs*~

Cadence watched carefully as Ryder opened a sack of something, tossing it out at the huddled group. Poison gas, she guessed, or smoke. Immediately, she used her own power to cancel their's, and at the same time, rained a few arrows around them. Either they would pass out or get impaled by an arrow.

Halt cursed as a young wolf lunged at him from nowhere, jaws gaping. He had already been cut in the arm during the frenzy, his throat burning from inhaling too much smoke. His knife flashed out, a pinwheel of light. Halt was a heartbeat too slow, however, as Blaze's teeth scraped his other arm before the knife met it's target. I need a vantage point. I need to get up!

Madison frowned and raced after them, she had a knife in her hand and a sword in th other a Death-Bringer (Jack) aimed a dagger toward her throat "Hey!" She screeched and swung a him with her sword, she sliced down his chest and he fell on the ground, breathing heavily. She raced after Amber and whispered "Good-Bye Death-Bringers." She remembered Hermione and how she had died in a battle, like this.

"We have to keep running. We can't stop! Not until we can't see the fortress anymore." Amber said to the group. She kept running, and Titus grabbed Madison's hand and started running.

Jake woke up, his head spinning. He couldn't see out of one eye, or talk. What's going on...? THE BATTLE! He looked around, and saw Jeremy. He took out his switchblade and ran towards him, and jumped. He tackled him and held it over his throat, about to kill him.

~Forest, the group of DBs just got attacked by poison gas :O Sorry if the way I wrote it was unclear Also, if they're running, there are some traps set around the fortress that you could get caught in~

"You won't get away!" Ryder hissed as she tied a rope to an arrow. She shot it with great difficulty, as her wrist was starting to swell up. It still managed to impale itself in a tree, creating a trip wire/barrier.

~Amber and Tom was already in the forest O.o And Amber, Titus, Madison, and Tom are escaping :3~

Amber tripped on a fox trap. Her foot was stuck, and the blades were sinking in to her ankle. She tried not so scream, because she's expose herself to the Life-Givers. Titus ran over to her and ripped it open, and they started running again, Amber limping at the same time.

~Not all of them should survive, though :O the vote was to reduce them to small numbers and scatter them~

Ryder melted into the shadows, traveling at a great speed. It was the middle of the night; the perfect amount of darkness for Ryder. She went after the Death-Bringers. Mercedes circled overhead, screeching.

Jeremy struggled and elbowed the lump of person on top of him "Get off!!" he screeched, he shoved the figure of him he caught his throat on the switchblade, but he knew how to treat it. He swung at the figure and ran, blood pouring from his wound, he wrapped it and groaned.

Madison tripped and her pant leg got trapped in a bear trap, she tripped and her arm landed in a fox trap "OW!!" she screamed and then began to groan, Thor stood beside her, licking her arm and whimpering for his master.

Jack was breathing heavy, Come on Jack, for your sister! he thought about how these evil people had killed her sister, he got up and and tried to make his way toward Xurxo.

(Who should die? Madison, Jack, or Jeremy?)

Halt's knife slashed across Blaze's face, but the attack only angered Blaze and he lunged out again and bite down hard, refusing to let go (Bright, you can decide where Blaze bit him).

Olivia saw Blaze fighting Halt and she ran over to help. She swung her sword down at Halt, trying to protect Blaze. (shes not very good at using a sword, so her attacks would be easy to block and dodge, and they might miss a lot).

Swoop also wanted to help Blaze. She flew down and pecked at Halt's face, and used her talons to claw at Halt.

Tom, barely conscious, looked behind them. The Life givers were driving the death bringers from the field. Hunters were shooting arrows at the remaining Death bringers, who couldn't run. The Life bringers had victory.
