Shattered Hope: Sequel to LAD

The Life-Givers leader is dead. The group is in chaos, each blaming another for their failure in the battle. They are breaking up, each day heralding another empty room, another person's belongings missing. People are leaving, hoping to find a way to exact revenge on the Death-Bringers, to hide from the devastating aftermath of the battle, or simply to escape from the furious accusations hurled from person to person. But still some people remain in their stronghold.

The Death-Bringers are victorious in the battle. Few had died, and almost none of the injuries were fatal. The future seemed bright for the chaos-makers. But barely two days had passed since the war when their scouts got wind of strangers knocking on the Life-Givers' fortress's door. They all wore steel gray cloaks, armed with longbows and knives. Wolves accompanied them, a couple falcons perching on their shoulders. They were dangerous. Strange. Mysterious.

The Hunters tell the Life-Givers that they come from a far land. They had traveled far and wide, and their only response to their questions were that they had to leave their home land. Hoping the Hunters would provide the remaining Life-Givers a way to get their revenge, they offered to provide room and board for the weary travelers for as long as they wished. It as accepted. The longer the Life-Givers stayed around the Hunters, the more they could see the strange differences between the two groups. After all, every Hunter was immortal.

Sardonic and cynical, he has a deep vein of dry humor in him despite his outward appearance of seriousness and dangerousness. Around mid-twenties in age.

She is more friendly and trusting then her friends, although she is very observant and can come down harsh when the need arises.

Other: The sword Sala had used was actually Cadence's. It is one of the most valuable swords in the world, made with the best material. Cadence had been in the Life-Bringer's group a decade or so before, but she left mysteriously to join the Hunters. She had accidentally left her precious sword behind, and Sala had taken it up for her own.

(Life Givers)- ~Yes, Falathiel still has Miriel.~ Falathiel rode on Miriel, quickly seeing Jack, she told the tigress to move faster. In a few seconds, she hopped off, and was standing with Jack and Cassandra. "Aww, why not?" she asked, hearing what he had said. "And be careful!" she giggled, then ran to help him up, with Cassandra. Whispering, so that Cassandra wouldn't hear, she said, "Wanna meet in the caves later? Maybe there is a tunnel that I... er we, haven't found that leads to the Death Bringers' fortress." She smiled happily as she continued to help him up.

(Death Bringers)- Arianna walked out of the kitchen. She already had her breakfast. She ran until she found Madison being hurried out of Halt's office. "Hi Madison!" she waved. She remembered that her sister had been Madison's best friend and shed a small tear. She quickly wiped it away and walked up to her, pretending like she didn't know who Hermione was. "So, do you wanna train later? Ooh, or maybe do morning watch together? I would love that! Did you and Herm..." she stopped herself, then quickly corrected, "Erm, uh... Nevermind!" She hoped that Madison didn't catch her slip up there. Though her hair was the color of her sister's, she had different eyes, and her true personality was different. She tried to be like Hermione, but they were different. She turned around to see the little chihuahua catching up. She had forgotten to carry Chipper on the way there! She turned, picked up Chipper, then turned back to Madison. "So... Is that a yes to the questions?"

(Life-Givers) Xurxo's eyes widened as Zephyra pulled him close, but relaxed in her arms. He held her for a few more seconds, and pulled away, his cheeks reddening furiously. He reached over and grabbed his violin, adjusting the back-strap. Slinging it over his back he headed for the door. "Let's go grab some breakfast. I want to meet some of the hunters too..." He waited for Zephyra at the door, his left hand tapping rapidly against his thigh; his heart beating furiously at the same tempo.

(Hunters) Ryder sat at the long, wooden table that took up most of the space in the breakfast hall. Its legs were wobbly and its top was stained from eons of careless hot-coffee drinkers, but she just cursed and stuffed a tissue under the guilty leg. She ate a croissant silently, awaiting the Life-Givers. She needed to talk with them about the Hunters.

Xurxo is currently kind of in the highest position, so is he technically a temporary/hastily appointed leader? o.O

Cadence tapped the table lightly with her fingers, fingering out a complicated piano piece. "I wonder if they have a piano here," she wondered absently, using a wet napkin to rub at a dark stain in front of her. It looked fairly new, and if taken care of quickly enough, the stain wouldn't be permanent. Cadence got so preoccupied with the stain that she almost forgot to ask Ryder the question that had been hovering in her thoughts like the buzz of bee that wouldn't go away until she addressed that nagging "bee." "Ryder," Cadence began hesitantly, "it might bing back bad memories, but should we ask the Life-Givers for the whole complete picture? The details would help us understand..."

(Death-Bringers)- "An interesting report," Halt muttered out loud. "Strangers? At our enemy's fortress? Five people... wolves... longbows..." he mutered. "How peculiar." Halt shuffled the reports, biting his lip thoughtfully.

(Life Givers)- Cerminia rolled out of bed. She rubbed her eyes then opened them. The Hunters were staying with them. She didn't wanna be late. They had lost the battle and Jackie had died. She sighed. "We'll win next time," she mumbled. She put on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and headed to breakfast.

(Death Bringers)- Jonghyun's stomach growled as he opened his eyes slowly. He lay in bed for a second, staring at the ceiling. He grinned as he remembered their victory. He jumped up, pulled on some random clothes and walked to the kitchen.

Ryder frowned and set down her tea. "I suppose it's the best decision. We shouldn't keep avoiding the truth," she replied slowly. "I hear footsteps. It seems some of them are somewhat early risers, too."

Mini walked into the kitchen and yawned. (They in the kitchen, right?) She looked around at the Hunters and felt very awkward. "Uhh... hey..," she said awkwardly, standing in the doorway. She flashed in and opened the fridge door. She grabbed a bagel then flashed back to the door way. She leaned against the door, while munching into her bagel.

(Life-Givers)- Jack looked at Cassandra and Falatheil "Well, I, uh, I don't know, I don't want to be greedy, maybe we can hold a meeting and the Life-Givers can vite, like school elections." He told the girls then whispered to Falatheil "Sure."

(Death-Bringers)- Madison looked at Arianna and she held back a smile "you can come if you keep you mouth shut about you-know-who." She told her Thorn growled next to her and then he barked "Thorn, she's a Death-Bringer." She told the dog and stood up. "Let's go."

(Life-Givers) Zephyra took Xurxo's hand and led him down the hallway, still only partially believing what she'd just done. During the kiss, the most incredible, undescribable feeling had washed over her. It left her a bit dizzy and uncertain, and she hoped Xurxo didn't mind. Because one thing was certain- Zephyra really did love him.

(Hunters) Riley sat down at the table, nodding absentmindedly at Ryder's words. She thought it was probably the footsteps of that Life-Giver girl and her boyfriend. Riley pitied the Life-Givers a bit, because they'd lost almost everything they had in the battle. And they could die. But obviously that girl still had someone to live for. And he was kind of hot, Riley thought. But she thought that about most guys she saw, so that wasn't saying anything. Riley let her mind wander as she nibbled at her chocolate donut and watched Violet peck at Cadence's hands, then fly over to her sister [Cadence's falcon?]

~Cadence's falcon is called Majesty. ~

(Hunters)- Cadence glanced up as two people entered the kitchen, hand in hand. "Hey. Morning," she greeted, her eyes flitting away to Violet as she pecked her hands briefly before fluttering to perch next Majesty. "That hurt," she muttered, rubbing the scratches made by Violet's sharp beak.

(Death-Bringers)- Halt entered the kitchen, looking for anyone who was awake. He wanted to send a scout party to the Life-Givers fortress. Just to see if the reports where true. If the strangers were really there... well....

(Death Bringers)- Jonghyun entered the kitchen, with his hands stuffed in his jean pockets. He looked up to see Halt. He pushed his hair back and waved. "Hey Halt," he greeted as he opened the fridge door with his mind. "Sup?"

(Life Givers)- "Hey Xurxo and Zephyra," Mini greeted as she finished off her bagel. She looked at the Hunters and their pets. It was cool how they had wolves and falcons and such and such.

(Hunters) Ryder glanced at Mini. "Would you like to pet Mercedes?" she offered. "She likes being scratched around her neck feathers." She called for the bird and it landed on the table, eating fallen crumbs. She then turned to face the other Life-Givers. "Xurxo, is it?" she began slowly. Ryder glanced at Cadence. "There's a favour we'd like to ask from you."

(life givers) "Voting sounds like a good idea." Cassandra said. She glanced at the sky. "The other life givers and the hunters are probably having breakfast right now. Should we join them?"

(hunters) Olivia finished her breakfast and she watched as Swoop fluttered around the kitchen, practing flying. She giggled as Swoop bumped into Riley. Blaze let out a small bark as two people entered the kitchen.

(Hunter)- Cadence nodded, rubbing at the numerous scars that marred her long-fingered hands. Training Majesty and Tenebris had been difficult, as they had been an excitable and energetic bunch when they were younger. Now they were much more disciplined and responsible, so most of her scars were relatively old. She glanced at Ryder swiftly, her brow furrowed in a slight frown, not quite sure where her leader was going.

(Death-Bringers)- "Hey Jonghyun. Where is everyone else?" Halt asked, his face darkening in a sign of displeasure. In fact, he usually had no idea where the rest of the Death-Bringers were these days.

(Life Givers)- Mini looked at Ryder. "Really?" she asked. She smiled widely. "I'd love to but are you sure? I'm not very experienced with animals.." She pushed her hair behind her ear and waited for Ryder to answer.

(Death Bringers)- "Not sure," he replied. He smiled grimly. "Maybe celebrating our victory?" he joked. Jonghyun frowned. "Yeah, well, I think someone's going on the watch or something." He shrugged cluelessly.

(Hunters) "She's tame..... Enough," she shrugged to Mini. "Dhe won't bite your head off, so that's a plus." She hesitated before continuing where she left off earlier. "Xurxo, Zephyra.. It is Zephyra, right? We would like you to tell us the details of the battle, without skipping anything. It'd give us a better understanding of the Death-Bringers." Ryder exhaled, her gaze fixed on the Life-Givers.

Is it to late join?

(Death-Bringers)- "I honestly don't think that the Life-Givers will mess with us after what emotional scars we left in their weak-minded brains." she told Thorn "I don't know why I'm out here come on, we should eat, Halt is a fool." she told the German Shepard and ran off him right by her side she stopped by Arianna "Keep watch for me will 'ya?" she asked and teleported without waiting for an answer.

(Life-Givers)- "Well, i guess, come on i will announce my idea there, maybe Xurxo will tel me what he thinks." Jack told the girls and signaled them to follow him to the kitchen. When he got there he greeted the hunters "Hello, Cadence, Ryder." he spoke to the girls with respect and waited for them to respond.

(Life-Givers) "Yes..." Zephyra began uncomfortably. She told them the story of how the Death Bringers were causing trouble until finally they decided to attack. She described the battle in detail, choking back tears as she recalled Sala's death. "Jackie was killed, and we kind of scattered. And then you came."

(Life-Givers)- Jack walked over to Zephyra and patted her shoulder and looked at the Rest of the Life-Givers "If it's okay, can i ask all of you something?" he asked the Life-Givers and waited for a response.

(Hunters) Riley sat up, interested. She ignored her silver wolf Eclipse, who was sniffing curiously at Tenebris. As she heard how Zephyra's sister died, she felt a pang of sympathy.

(Life Givers) Zephyra nodded warily. "Yes, Jack?"

(Life-Givers)- "Well, everyone, i have an idea how to choose a new leader, a vote." he said "Kind of like an election, except it lasts a day." He continued "Each one of you will cast a vote on who you want to be leader, then I was thinking me and Xurxo could hold a meeting to tell you who will be leader." he ended then quickly added "And, Hunters you can add too."

Mini nodded. "Good idea. Makes sense to let the people vote, right?" she said, casually. She looked at everyone else to see what the thought. "But, we're only supposed to vote for people who WANT to be leader, right?"

James walked around aimlessly, Torra perched on his shoulders. He was bored.

(Life Givers) Xurxo nodded in approval. "Sure... an election would be alright." He turned to Jack, "I'll make sure to find you later so we can announce a meeting."
