Habitat:
A pretty pasture, next to a barn on a hilltop. It's 600 acres of land. The farmer always puts the food in the barn, but most of the time, they are running around in the pasture, having fun.
Climate:
Dry summer, but the highest temerature it's been is 92 degrees (104 where I live ).

Rose woke up, the sun still rising. The farmer must have given us food already... I'll wait until everyone else is awake until I eat. Rose thought. She looked at everyone, who was still asleep. She sighed, and laid back down. She watched the sunrise happily.

Arrow dreamed of flying through an endless meadow, galloping faster than the wind, faster than the arrow she was named after. And then there was the feeling of fear! Danger, predator. There was a low growl, and a shadow leaped at her from the corner of her eye. The dapple-gray mare let out a shrill whinny and jerked awake. Shaking her head, Arrow glanced at where Phantom slept beside her. (Do they sleep in the barn? If they do, then pretend Phantom was just in the stall next to her.) She snorted in relief. She hadn't actually cried out loud. Arrow shook her head again, mane flying. She glanced around, spotting Rose, who was peering around at the others.

~They usually sleep out in the pasture, depends on the weather. :3~
Rose saw Arrow was awake. "Hi, Arrow! Are you hungry too?" she asked, "I'm waiting for the others to wake up before going to eat." She waited to see if anyone else was awake. Nope. she thought. She looked back at the sunrise, and sighed, "I'm leaving to eat when the sun has completly risen."

Cole was already awake for a while. She stared at Arrow intently. She had noticed the grey mare had twitched a bit in her sleep.

Arrow nodded at Rose. "I'll just wake Phantom up then." As she turned toward her sibling, she noticed Cole's unwavering gaze focused on her like a ray of light. The dapple-gray mare returned the steady stare for a moment. Did she notice my nightmare? Flicking her tail, Arrow turned her head away and poked Phantom roughly in the flank. The black stallion started, and rose in a half-rear before he noticed it was Arrow. "What is it?" he asked, a low grumble in his voice. "Its well past dawn," Arrow noted. Phantom rolled his eyes good-naturedly and trotted stiffly to the the other side of the oak, pausing to drink out of the pond. (There should be a pond!)

Cole lashed her tail out at a small bug and got to her feet. She shook her head and her short mane waving in the breeze she created, knocking the sleep out of her head. Cole snorted to clear out her nose and walked over to Arrow. "Sleep well, twitchy?"

"I slept fine," Arrow snorted, rolling her eyes. "Only a nice dream." She looked straight into Cole's eyes, her gaze unflinching, a shadow of a challenge. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Phantom staring at them, his ears laid back, an angry glint in his brown eyes. Uh-oh. It wasn't pretty when Phantom went into rage with a wild stallion who had snuck up the ranch, taking interest in Azure and Rose. The black stallion had fought the wild, and the pinto stallion and fled with many injuries. Phantom hadn't escaped without wounds either though. Arrow could still see the small scar on his neck.

"You were... twitching.. Was it cold in your dream? Did you get pins-and-needles?" the red mare questioned, returning Arrow's gaze.

Arrow rolled her eyes. "Do you stand like a rock in your sleep, Cole? Do you never move a single muscle? Of course I twitch once in awhile." Flicking her tail, the dappled mare ignored Cole and trotted across the pasture to chat with Rose.

Cole snorted. She trotted out after Arrow. But then broke into a gallop and rushed past her, spraying grass in her face.

Phantom lowered his head, temper flaring. He broke into a straight out gallop and as Cole passed Arrow, he cut in front of the red mare, his shoulder slamming into her's, with the full weight and momentum of his rush behind the blow. As Cole tumbled away from him, Phantom let out a shrill whinny. "No one treats my sister like that." Arrow narrowed her eyes and swung out from behind the black stallion, ears laid flat to her head.
