Fan-Art idea: Warriors (from the books) star in 'Deadliest Warrior'
I am a fan of both the 'Warriors' books and the TV show 'Deadliest Warrior' [with Season 3 starting tonight]. For the first time, these two things will come together in my Fan-Art ideas. Some of the Cat characters from Erin Hunter's series will be portrayed as a 'Twoleg' warrior from the show (* these warriors are not on the show yet, but I feel they match the Warrior cat). In each pic I'll include a brief info on the warriors (both twoleg and cat), a description (of what's going to be shown on the picture), and explanation (why I paired the cat characters with the warrriors they're being shown as). Enjoy.
Brambleclaw as the Rajput
Warrior Cat Info:
Time and time again, this ThunderClan warrior had to prove to his fellow clan-mates, that he was loyal and tried to set himself apart from his father, Tigerstar. Chosen by StarClan to represent ThunderClan, he lead the group of six cats who set out to save the Forest Clans from Twolegs. After the Great Journey to their new home by the Lake, Brambleclaw [eventually] became ThunderClan's new Deputy.
Twoleg Warrior Info:
Rajput [Hindi] literally means "King's son or Son of a King", and in battle this Indian warrior-caste were kings. Consisting of at least 100 tribes/clans/kingdoms, in what is now present Rajasthan, they were India's first line defense against would-be invaders from Persia and Afghanistan. They mastered in Shastar Vidya (an ancient Indian martial arts that became the predecessor of Kung-Fu), and wielded, as well as created, some of the most exotic lethal weapons ever! In 'Deadliest Warrior', the Rajput was pitched against a Roman Centurion...and Won!
Explanation:
Basically, Brambleclaw was my favourite character in the Second series, while the Rajput was my favourite Ancient (pre-gunpowder) Warrior of Season2. You could say that Brambleclaw is a 'Rajput', in the sense that Tigerstar was ShadowClan's Leader. Plus his Tiger-like appearance would go well with the Tiger-like fighting spirit of the Indian Rajput.
Darkstripe as the Nazi Waffen SS
Warrior Cat Info:
Time and time again (almost opposite to Brambleclaw), Darkstripe proved his loyalties layed more to Tigerclaw/star instead of ThunderClan. He was one the cats who hated Fireheart for being a former-kittypet (and even more so when he became Firestar). Darkstripe was willing to do some of the most sinister crimes under Tigerstar's bidding.
Twoleg Warrior Info:
"No greater soldier had ever fought for a worst cause." Swearing allegiance to Adolf Hitler alone (and not the German Nation), the Waffen SS [the military division of the SS] were the Third Reich's elite (and highly feared/hated) troops. Originally developed as Hitler's bodyguards, this organization rose-up to become a fanatically fierce force that fought (and committed numerous war crimes and monstrosities against humanity) "for Fuhrer and Fatherland" wherever they went. In 'Deadliest Warrior' the Waffen SS were able to annihilate the Viet Cong.
Here's some more examples (I'll be readjusting the details into this later)
Firestar as Brian Boru* [or George Washington]
GrayStripe as William Wallace
Tigerstar as Vlad the Impaler
Scourge as the (Golden-age) Pirate
Bone as Al Capone
Blackfoot/star as the Soviet Spetsnaz
Leopardstar as the Aztec Jaguar
Crookedstar as Genghis Khan
Tawnypelt as the Apache
Feathertail as Joan of Arc
Squirrelpaw/flight as the Shaolin Monk
Crowpaw/feather as the Comanche
Stormfur as the Samurai
Hawkfrost as the Viking
Ashfur as the IRA
Berrynose as the French Musketeer
Lionblaze as the [Royal] Gurkha
Hollyleaf as the Ninja
Breezepelt as Jesse James
Mudclaw as Pancho Villa
Brokenstar as Saddam Hussein
Cloudtail as Theodore Roosevelt
Smokepaw as the Zombie Cat [joke]
Brambleclaw as the Rajput

Thanks. And maybe to make it more interesting, I could have a 'battle simulation' comic with some of the characters who've fought each other in the books. For example: "Rajput Brambleclaw vs. Viking Hawkfrost"

Basically the battle takes place by the lake, when Brambleclaw finds out that Firestar is caught in a fox-snare, and sees his half-brother Hawkfrost near the dying ThunderClan Leader.

Cool. In the second series, I liked Feathertail the best.

Thanks. Well that's great to hear! In case you didn't notice, I plan on portraying Feathertail as Joan of Arc (just seen the first 12 minutes of the match-up episode [for next week] with her against William the Conqueror. Looks like it's going to be awesome!). I think that's very well matched.

Who's William the Conqueror?

Re: Fan-Art idea: Warriors (from the books) star in 'Deadliest Warrior'
William the Conqueror was the 11th century Duke of Normandy (North-eastern France) and an heir to the English throne. He invaded England (to seize what he believed was his right), and in the Battle of Hastings, defeated both Norwegian and Anglo-Saxon armies, and Crowned himself King [hence the name 'the conqueror']! This lead to the introduction (and later conversion) of French language and culture into England (changing the course of history).
Highly recommend you go watch the preview of this episode (as well as the full episode of 'George Washington vs. Napoleon Bonaparte')!
