Fantasy RP

Antheia had her eyes shut tightly and her nose pinched, trying to forget there was even a corpse right in front of her. She soon couldn't hold her breath anymore, and exhaled somewhat loudly. As she inhaled, she gagged quietly, the scent of death going through her nostrils. "I hate this. I hate this so much." She thought to herself, pinching her nose again.

Looking around the room trying to see if there was anything that might be a clue, Nathan noticed how especially uncomfortable Antheia looked. "You doing all right Antheia? If you want I can cast a temporary ward to block the smell, it shouldn't interfere with our shadow cloaks. Then all you'd have to do is look away and be mostly fine." Nathan said, silently telling himself that not everybody had been on a battlefield or fought a rogue necromancer and scolding himself for not noticing how one of his few not-from-the-village friends was handling being in a room with a corpse. Though admittedly he had had friends and family with him for both occasions to help him handle the sights and smells.

Antheia looked at Nathan with her one eye, nodding quickly. She almost opened her mouth, but stopped herself. "The smell is so bad." she thought, breathing out and in quickly again.

"All right, it'll only take a second. This might tickle a little bit, but try to refrain from sneezing if you can." Nathan said as he walked over to Antheia. He then drew a circle in the air big enough to outline Antheia's face and let his magic flow into it, working in the parameters to temporarily block her sense of smell. "There we go, that should work." Nathan said as he finished the ward and pushed it towards Antheia where it fit around her face and faded from sight. "So, feeling any better?" Nathan asked as he took a breath. It had taken quite a bit of concentration to cast the ward without letting any of his antimagic leak out.

Antheia breathed in, not smelling a thing. "Yes, a lot better. Thank you." she smiled at Nathan, looking away from the body and him. She looked down at her feet, her cheeks blushing slightly. "This is not the time to be feeling like this, Antheia!" she thought, playing with her bracelet.

"I'm the idea dragon? I mean, I ain't complaining, but y'all gotta help me out sometimes. I'm the transportation and destroyer, but IDK about the rest." Ruby shrugged, kicking the body away before approaching the group again. "We could always just go and try to attack my mom, if we killed her we could do anything we wanted BUT she's thousands of years old and a humongous dragon, so I mean." Another shrug.

"There's no point in that then." Antheia sighed, "Why don't we just keep moving? We're wasting time here."

((And I return from the dead to hopefully move the rp along! Though we're down to three it seems.))

Nathan had felt relieved when Antheia had said she was fine now, as well as some other feeling that almost made him blush for some reason, but he was saved by Ruby's comment. "Yeah, I'm not sure messing with an ancient and powerful dragon that is also the empress of a powerful nation is really the best idea, for several reasons. But I may have an idea of a lead that at least gives us something to follow." Nathan said as he remembered something he read during his studies. "We can start by investigating the guilds for assassins, criminals, and rogue mages. And since we at least know that our mage assassin came here from somewhere with ample water I can think of three places that are close enough to be possible, one assassins' guild and two mages' guilds that have dark reputations, though the mages' guilds may be difficult to track or even destroyed already due to the magic ban. Anyone else have any preferences on which place we check out first?" Nathan asked, hoping to reach a decision quickly as they were still in the heart of a city that wanted them captured.

Antheia shook her head, "No, not really. I haven't really been anywhere other than my current home, the capital city, and my-" she paused before saying slowly, "hometown."
Antheia had almost no fond memories of her so called 'hometown'. She lived with her father in the woods before his death, then had to move to the orphanage in the town closest to their home.
