To My Dearest
To my dearest,
I promised you my love;
I promised you my heart
for all eternity,
and that nothing would keep us apart.
Yet you decided to throw it away like common trash,
to be devoured by the parasites,
who have for so long tried to keep us apart.
I am to now think that the maggot who has been at this
has finally grew its wings and flew up to your attention.
The light that you once gave me is forever surrounded by darkness,
and I have been reborn a spider who slowly crawls in these shadows.
I have made a most comfortable webbing of my home,
and those parasitic insects are attracted to it.
When they are stuck on it,
I give them a blanket for their last comfort.
They think the venom I inject is love,
when really they are slowly dying.
When my prey is done,
I scurry to a new home to do this all over again.
To my dearest I invite you,
I want you to see what you have created
To my dearest,
I promised you my love;

To my dearest I invite you,

Re: Poems
Dragonfly and Butterfly
I have fell for you at first sight.
Always popular and hanging around the others.
So beautiful with your gorgous outter white
and inner brown color.
What chance do I have,
a Dragonfly who gazes at your beauty.
You fly with such grace,
and each time you pass by me my wings can help but get excited.
The moment you first saw me,
It was true love.
You flew over top of me
and sprinkled pollen as you sat besides me.
My breath taken.
My heart stops.
You smile at me,
And get ready to take off to the air.
Time seems to have stopped,
As the trees sway to the song of the breeze.
I fly besides you,
and dance to the beats of our hearts.
Not a worry in the world,
as it seems to revolve around just the two of us.
As we look into each others eyes,
We sink deep into the ocean of love.
The emptiness that once resided in my heart,
Now filled with the love you gave me.
Our lives now complete,
As we can no longer be without each other.

Re: Poems
The Lady in the White Dress
She stands there waiting
In her wedding dress.
All alone
In front of the single dead oaktree
In the hedge garden.
The fog lifts
As the moon shines ontop of her.
Her feelings heavy and hurt.
A tear rolls down her face
As the cool breeze moves in
With only silence filling the air.
She falls to her knees
As she waits for a promise she was given.
Wave after wave of memories torture her
As she waits there every night.
The years go by
Her soul still there waiting
And she becomes known as
The Lady in the White Dress
She stands there waiting
In her wedding dress.
All alone
In front of the single dead oaktree
In the hedge garden.
The fog lifts
As the moon shines ontop of her.
Her feelings heavy and hurt.
A tear rolls down her face

She falls to her knees
As she waits for a promise she was given.
Wave after wave of memories torture her
As she waits there every night.
The years go by
Her soul still there waiting
And she becomes known as
The Lady in the White Dress

Re: Poems
You romantic, you! I like the first one a lot. I have one similar to your third one, sort of.
The Bride's Tree
Under the sheltering pines
cowering away from the gray sky stands the bride's tree
dressed in innocent white blossoms
almost a memoir of winter, in defiance with the rich green buds around him.
So strong, so frail,
ancient to the roots, unrivaled in beauty by anything else on earth.
Here to remind us of our ancestor's tragedies and tranquilities.
One day, when those too weary to carry on,
will close their eyes and let their memories run backwards,
until they find themselves in early spring's interlude, and they will come to rest,
under the bride's tree.

Thank you very much! I make a ton of poems. I really like yours. It is dark and makes me think a little. But you are right. It does remind me of my poem a bit.

Re: Poems
Heck yeahh, my fellow poets. I really like The Lady in the White Dress.
Toxic Covered Beauty
“We believe that we invent symbols. The truth is that they invent us; we are their creatures, shaped by their hard, defining edges.”
-Gene Wolfe
You’re a venomous rose
Toxic covered beauty
Thorns dripping with acid
Your poison flows
With continuity
You’re a deadly assassin
Awaiting a new victim
Drawing one in
With fatal allure
Unaware of your system
The reason they flinch
Is because of your lethal grandeur
Your sickly sweet scent
Is a noxious fume
From vivid lackluster pedals
That are pleasurably abhorrent
Unsuspecting is your victim that you are their doom
That you are a malevolent devil
Your acidic barbs constrict with formidable might
In your captive’s veins the venom will seep
Soon they will lose the will to fight
Then you will notice they can no longer weep
For your toxic covered beauty
Has lured them to sleep

Re: Poems
This one is about a character in the game Crash Bandicoot. I was asked to do this one, and this is what I came up.
Through the Eyes of a Mad Kangaroo
Hahahahahahehehehahahaha
How do you do?
I'm Ripper Roo!
I'll use TNT and Nitro,
Just to blow up you!
I'm a doctor!
Working for Cortex!
I wrote a book!
Through the Eyes of the Vortex
I wear a straight jacket!
I drive with one foot!
I laugh at everything!
Even at things nobody understood!
3,2,1
The TNT goes Kaboom!
I'm utterly insane!
I'm Ripper Roo!

Re: Poems
Haha I think it is okay though if it is to separate out writing pieces so it isn't confusing. I guess as long as it is their own work though since they actually have to think it through and work to write it. Maybe it wouldn't be so good if they were just posting other peoples poems that they googled. I don't personally see an issue with it in this case though. List separating chapters of a fanfic right?

Re: Poems
The Battle for Our Love
When darkness engulfed our world
I fought to keep you safe
But in the end I failed.
I once thought that our love was so strong,
that we could get through anything.
But when the shadows crashed through our door,
it had taken you away from me
I fought to get you back
Enduring more pain than anyone should encounter.
I battled not only the beast in the outer world,
but also the one I had inside of me.
I searched everywhere for you,
only to find nothing.
Everyone tells me it is a hopeless cause,
but I still can feel you in my heart.
And I know you can feel me in yours.
I know I must trust my senses
and never give up.
I will find you,
and our love will flourish once again.
When darkness engulfed our world
I fought to keep you safe
But in the end I failed.
I once thought that our love was so strong,
that we could get through anything.
But when the shadows crashed through our door,
it had taken you away from me

Re: Poems
Time is Gone
Are you listening?
Do you hear the wind calling for you?
The rustling leaves beneath you?
The dead trees moaning?
How do you feel?
Scared?
Like you are alone?
Ice cold?
What do you smell?
The cold crisp air?
The rotting corpses?
Your own fear?
What do you taste?
The light of the moon?
Ashes of the deceased?
Your own blood?
Do you see me?
A dark figure?
Pointing at you?
Holding the scythe?
I am Death.
Your time is gone.
Are you listening?
Do you hear the wind calling for you?

Re: Poems
Future Heart Bearer
To my future love,
I know it may take time,
and I know I will be difficult.
But if you are patient with me,
then the wait will be more worth it.
I can promise you not only my heart,
but also all the love that comes with it.
Every second with you will be treasured,
because you are the center of my universe.
I will do anything and everything for you.
But you need to give me time to heal.
Then I shall be forever loyal to you,
and never leave your side.
To my my future love,
I will be yours.
To my future love,
I know it may take time,
and I know I will be difficult.
But if you are patient with me,
then the wait will be more worth it.
I can promise you not only my heart,

Re: Poems
Too many poems! Too many to respond to! Their all so benevolent! (I also just used a word I don't understand, what the heck? ) I especially like "Your Time Is Gone", Oakheart, the tone changes so fast. I thought it was about autumn at first! Stormheart, yours was great too. The imagery and the description of poison you used was fantastic. Here's another aged one of mine;
Cast me into a spell
to a state where I once was
Here, I may have been haunted
by his fury, his strong calls for my tyrannous name.
I could hear it like lightning
whenever I looked into a survivor's eyes.
I would have chose to stop my self-destruction,
to halt the fires of ruin I turned unto myself, for feeling what I did.
Maybe even, stopped the fierce hate and abuse, on his heart.
But no.
The loyalist's influence died with him, the night his people burned in intense flame
I see his face, but he is mute in my memory.
But no.
I chose to scar the only one who ever mattered, twisting and pounding him into my second mould.
I am so close
to my one wish
but as of now
my heart mine as well not be beating
for my passions of death
have faded the glow of life
in my beautiful veins.
