The Rise and Fall of Silkfur
Foreword: Ok, firstly I know im terrible at completing the stories I start. I have started many but thus gave up on them due to real life events. But this one, I will finish. Why? Im determined to.
Prologue: The moon cast a eerie light over the forest below. Shadows echoed from the trees dashed across the forest floor casting an unusual glow. Leaves rustled in the midnight wind and provided a surreal ambience. Paw steps treaded in branches breaking the still silence. A grey shape crawled cautiously out of the bushes and peeked around the clearing, somewhat anxious.
"Nightpelt? Nightpelt are you there?" The quiet voice sounded loudly throughout the forest. Nervously, the grey tom licked his sheen greyish pelt. He had jagged ears and a bright red scar down his side. Everything about his appearance was grey apart from the very tip of his tail which was jet black.
"You agreed Nightpelt. You said you would be here! Nightpelt?" The tom repeated glancing at the bushes with worried eyes. Twigs suddenly rustled and movement was seen from the corner of his eye. A lithe black male slid out the penetrating darkness his fur streaked with hints of white around the muzzle.
"Hello Silkfur." He spoke smoothly, with no gulps or imperfections.
"N-Nightpelt you were right... He is mad..."
"Of course I was right, why wouldn't I be?" The cat named Nightpelt snapped.
Suddenly his tone of voice changed becoming darker.
"Why, don't you trust me anymore?"
Silkfur shuddered.
"O-Of course I do N-Nightpelt. You know that. He's insane he-"
Nightpelts tail slid across the grey toms mouth.
"Shhh... Anyone could be listening."
Silkfur gulped and went quiet.
"Now, my friend. What are we going to do about it?"
"Us? B-But I just relayed information im not going to-"
He cut off at a rustle in the distance.
"Wha- What was that?"
"Probably just a mouse. Nothing to worry about."
Suddenly his green eyes went furiously dark.
"He's going mad with power Silk. Someone has to take responsibility."
"I cant kill... I cant kill my own leader!"
"Shut up you fool, the whole ruddy forests going to hear us!"
His eyes glinted.
"Anyway, you're deputy. It'll be your chance. Nobody has to know."
"But after everything he's been through-"
But the black tom said nothing and disappeared into the darkness flashing a warning glance at Silkfur.
Alone again, Silkfur looked hopelessly to the ominous black sky for answers...
