The Ghost In The Fortress

Pain stalked through the harsh snow. He felt exposed - his mottled greenish, brown-black cloak did not match well with the icy-white swirls. However, moving at slow speed, one could easily mistake him for a rock. His senses remained on high alert, however, until he reached the safety of the Fortress. He would stay here until it was safe to move. The cats in the forest had become restless with the night, what was hidden the darkness. Tensions were high, but fear had grown too, and Pain had seen them searching for him. He had been on unknown land. The other cats had the advantage. Plus, he had seen the dog. It was big and strong, his nose was sharp. He would have to take care of it.

The storm didn't die down. The wind howled; summer came to no effect on these mountains. He saw the enemy patrol before they approached to Fortress. They were unaccustomed to the extreme conditions and their summer fur were not suited for the weather. There were looking for him. Pain melted into the wall. He would soon take care of them. The Fortress had many secrets. The master of shadows became invisible once more.

Tobi came with the allianced group of cats. He was needed to smell out this weird jerk! Tobi didn't understand why the cats were shivering. He ran around sniffing the snow and running ahead and making snowmen.

Lotus-star stared at the dark castle. The blew through the decrepit stone walls and out came this eerie wail that sounded unearthly. Lotus-star shivered. She stared jealously at Tobi and his fluffly winter coat.

(I guess we're exploring the fortress, and we're travelling together cuz it's dangerous)

Adderfang looked at the stone castle with its dark high towers covered by snow. "Looks haunted," he muttered.

Icestar walked up to Adderfang. "Haven't you heard the legend? A cat was hunting, and walked into this castle. He hasn't been seen since, but some say they can see a flash of his sand-colored pelt on the coldest of winter days."

Crystaldance shivered. "No matter how many ghosts are in there, I'd rather be inside than outside in all this snow." She hurried to the door and found the it slightly open. She went inside first, followed by the other cats.

Icestar followed her warriors. She had to make sure they were all safe. She entered the doorway, shook snow off her pelt, and rushed ahead to walk with the other leaders, leading the Clans.

Shadowstorm looked around the gloomy fortress. There were holes, cracks, and mazes everywhere. He was startled by a mournful cry. The cats jumped and looked around. The eerie call had disappeared into the rage of the storm outside. "It's the wind," said Shadowstorm. He padded alongside his leader and mate; his muscles were relaxed but his eyes were alert, carefully scanning the many secret passageways. "Look! There's a kitchen!" called Shadowstorm. He rolled his eyes as Cheesefur eagerly went to investigate [sorry about god-modding. forgive me]

"Maybe we should all stop to investigate possible food sources. There might even be some mice!" A drop of melted snow dripped onto Icestar's nose, and she flicked it off. Her nice, warm, non-leaky den this was not, but it would do until the snow stopped.

Tawnypelt licked some cold snow off her fur. Though her pelt was longer than the other cats' (look at my DP), that just made it easier for snow to get trapped into it.

She sniffed the air. "It looks like a Twoleg would have built it, but it looks really old. And no Twoleg's been in here for...well, I don't know," she said. But no one listened, so she went around to try and find some soft bits to make a makeshift nest to rest her paws. The ground was stone cold and rough-nothing ever walked over the surface to make it smooth and worn over time, and wind whistled through frequent cracks and nicks, making eerie whistles and aimless, haunting tunes.

"I hope we don't have to stay here long."

Silverstream padded next to Adderfang. She wanted to take this trip as a time that she could spend with her mate. Suddenly she saw a flash of Grey/brown/black fur. Suddenly affraid, she pressed her muzzle against Adderfang.

Brightstar tasted the air carefully. Then she turned to eye Lotus-star. "I'm thankful for my thick coat now. So much for telling us we look like kittypets."

Silverstream padded up to the leaders and told them about the fur she had seen. Then she went back to her mate.

Blizzard padded through the snow next to the Clan cats. He had applied for ThunderClan, but Monkeystar had not made up his mind. But the haughty leader had allowed him to this trip. Blizzard was used to the thick snow anyways. He had lived in the snowy mountains since he was a kit. The snow and cold would not penetrate his thick grey fur.

Brightstar nodded thoughtfully. "WE'll have be no our guard," she decinded.

Scratch padded alongside Blizzard. She was a loner, but the Put_Name_Here had convinced the leaders to let them come.

~I'm seeing young love! lol~ Silverstream talked to Adderfang about the fur.

Blizzard shook his head irritably. "What I hate about this little journey is that we have to go on to unknown territory while our enemy probably knows every step."

~When is Pain going to do something?~
