Thunderclaw's Arrival in WindClan

~ So, since AwesomeClan and Dark Forest are joining, Thunderclaw is taking Flamekit to WindClan. And yes, we have agreed and talk about this. ~

Dawnstorm licked her chest fur down, satisfied with her grooming in such a short time. She had been expecting Thunderclaw to arrive soon with Flamekit, her kit that Thunderclaw had taken. When will he be here? Her kits were playing with their aunt, Springfur, in the nursery. She was sitting near the camp entrance, enjoying a plump rabbit and grooming herself. Thunderclaw was probably going to emerge from the entrance with the WindClan patrol any second now. She gave a rough lick to her long tail, and neatly curled it over her paws. I can't wait to see Thunderclaw. And Flamekit! I can't wait to see how he's grown, she thought, her paws starting to shuffle excitedly.

Birdstar narrowed her eyes in disapproval. "Any kind and sane cat would bring a healthy kit to safety. Just because you brought the kit doesn't mean that you are a loyal WindClan warrior. For all I know you may be an AwesomeClan spy. I hope you see things in my position." She kept her voice in a businesslike and civil tone trying not to sound ungrateful. After all she could sense the tom was kind, she just wasnt sure if he were a spy or not. "Windystorm, Gingerlion! Please escort Thunderclaw to the Medicine Cat's Den and fetch him prey as well." Birdstar mewed to the warriors. Then, she padded into her den after Dawnstorm.

Thunderclaw looked around the clearing, trying to memorize every crook and crack.

Dawnstorm ruffled her fur and gulped. "Thunderclaw will stay loyal to WindClan as long as I am. And even though I took a cross-Clan mate I stayed loyal to my Clan in the process and he did too," she murmured through close eyes. "You can't doubt my loyalty to the Clan. If Thunderclaw and I met in battle we probably would've fought either way. In fact I once met him on patrol and I attacked-" she stopped, wondering if Birdstar would even believe her.

Thunderclaw sat at the edge of the camp, chewing on a rabbit.

Lightningstorm folded her long legs into a crouch once she slipped into the den. Sighing, she shook her head. "The fact you two even attempted at mateship shows exactly how unloyal you are. One of you had to have crossed a border to meet the other. Also, loyalty doesn't only mean sticking with your Clanmates and listening to your leader. It means following StarClan's code. If you break that, you're no better than a loner, rogue, or kittypet." Her mew was calm as if she were speaking to a kit. It frustrated the deputy that neither of the two cats seemed to know the full meaning of loyalty. Hadn't they grown up learning just that? Wasn't it obvious that, as their mentors had drilled into them that if you break one code from the warriors code, you might as well have broken them all? Looking to Birdstar for her opinion, the golden brown she-cat's eyes were carefully placid.

Birdstar nodded listening and mewed, "Dawnstorm your a strong warrior, no one can refuse that. However, you still broke some rules by sneaking out to see a tom from a different clan." She stopped for a moment wondering how to punish her. After all, she remembered when she had been deputy she began to sneak out herself to see Sunbeam. Birdstar's heart ached. She hadn't seen the handsome RiverClan tom in ages since she became leader. Seeing, Lightningstorm turn to glance at her she mewed, "I agree with Lightningstorm. First, you broke a rule by having a mate in a different clan. Next, you two must have had a meeting place, meaning that you crossed a border as Lightningstorm said. This is prohibited and extrememly immature. In WindClan we expect loyalty." Birdstar sighed for a moment cooling her temper. She then turned to Lightningstorm curiosity sparking in her golden gaze. "What do you think a proper punishment should be?" She asked curious at what Lightningstorm was thinking. Birdstar had her own plan, however Lightningstorm might have some ideas as well. I want to include my Deputy as well, she deserves to be able to share her ideas Birdstar thought.

Dawnstorm looked up to Lightningstorm and a flash of anger crossed her eyes. "Then why don't I just be kicked out of the Clan then?" she said calmly. "And I know what loyalty is. That's why I was begging him to come to WindClan. I didn't want to be disloyal. And I wasn't breaking the warrior code if I was still fulfilling my duties and remaining loyal to my Clan primarily." She gazed down at her paws for a quick second, not wanting to say the rest. "If I had to, I would've at least given Thunderclaw a little scratch if I were ever face-to-face with him in battle. The warrior code doesn't clearly state I can't have a mate in another Clan. And I never crossed other Clan territory. I met him at Fourtrees and outside the Clans sometimes," she admitted. Would I really harm Thunderclaw if this did happen? she wondered. She figured she would, but she wasn't so sure with the kits...

Lightningstorm thought a moment and flicked an ear decisively. "Either apprentice duties again with full name demotion and such, restriction to attending Gatherings for a good long while, or confinement to camp. Although, I don't see why since her lover is here, it'd keep her planted here in case of any spying. It's a precaution, I guess you could say. I also think maybe a mix of all three would sound pretty good." Feeling confident in herself, she sat tall with regal grace. She sure hoped she'd given some good ideas because this was a very serious matter.looking to Dawnstorm, she narrowed her eyes critically, all emotion found there harsh. "It clearly states that you can ONLY have FRIENDSHIP with other cats of different clans, even that is limited. Oh, and I suggest you get used to using more respect in how you treat me. I am your deputy whether you like it or not."

Birdstar narrowed her eyes sensing a rising argument between the new deputy and the warrior. "Enough." She snarled taking a small step in between the two. Turning to Dawnstorm she mewed, "I appreciate that you have kept your mind straight and focused on your clan and I also appreciate that you admitted your mistake." She mewed remembering that the warrior had told them about their meeting place. "However, just because you have broken the warrior code but you say your primarily focused on your clan gives you no excuse and you still broke the rules. Your punishment will be apprentice duties, however there will be no full name demotion. Also you will not be attending Gatherings for about 2 moons and you cannot leave the camp without myself, Lightningstorm, or one or two more warriors that we will choose for you. There will be no border patrols what so ever. I assure you that Thunderclaw will be safe as well as Flamekit. I hope you understand." Birdstar mewed more gently toward the end yet, her golden gaze was guarded and intimidating and her fur was ruffled.

~Wait, I'm a queen, so wouldn't I get some kind of benefit in my duties by like not doing as many apprentice chores as I would if I were more capable or something but still keeping my other punishments? ~

~You'll still have your other punishments but you won't be doing apprentice duties all the time you know? You can, for example change moss and fetch moss with a supervisor and then take care of the kits for a while. Then later you will go and do more apprentice duties. Also please don't take any of this personally Dawny!~

~ Oh okay. And lol no, I'm not mad in real life. I'm just kind of making Dawnstorm do what.. well, I think she would do in the situation, considering her personality. ~
