Flash looked up. She saw Hawk call a meeting and padded over. What's going on? She thought.

Shadow padded to Hawk's perch, gray eyes sparkling curiously. However, he remained silent, sitting in the sunlight and letting it warm his muscular form as he watched his leader intently. The large tom wondered whom would be chosen for such an honor as to be second-in-command and shook off the trout of it bent him. Sure, he was kind of leader-like, and strong, but in his opinion, he was rather average. Shadow would feel plenty of happiness for one of his Tribemates when they were chosen. But who would it be?

Flash sat patiently bellow Hawk. It was always an honor to be picked as second-in-command. Who would it be? She'd be glad for anybody who got that position. She glanced over at Shadow. Maybe it's him, She thought.

Panther followed her brother and sat beside him, thrown in the shadow of his large frame. It was impossible to guess who the second-in-command was going to be, by looking at Hawk's expression. With most cats, she could make a valid guess based on where they looked, who they stared at, etc. But he was simply focused on the whole group of cats that were slowly gathering to listen to his words. Her blue eyes glittered with curiosity as she bent her head to groom the ruffled fur on her chest with a swift lick. It probably wasn't her, Panther reasoned. She was an excellent hunter; it came to her easily and naturally, but leading? That seemed to be more of Shadow's style.

Falcon pounced and fell off the tree clumsily, with the robin still caught in her claws. She realized it was still there and absentmindedly tried to sink her claws in while loosening her grip. The robin was cut, but it was minor. It leaped off the ground and flew away. Falcon cursed. She spotted a patch of dew-soaked catnip plants and grabbed a mouthful. The healer would be pleased to find catnip. Plus, she was expected to at least bring something for the camp then nothing while going out. Some cats liked to go and 'hunt' all day and come back with nothing. She wasn't that selfish. She shook her pelt and bounded away. She dropped the delicate herbs into the healer's den and saw the cats gathering. She stood in front of the rock and tilted her head slightly. Oh! They're appointing a new second-in-command! she thought. She tried to back up and blend with the crowd. She didn't want to be chosen. She was more of a hunter; leading was not her kind of thing. Hunters rarely get picked, anyway. Of course, she would take up the position if chosen, but she wasn't really expecting to be chosen. But she silently hoped the best for Shadow and watched her leader.

Panther twitched her ears at Falcom in a silent 'hello.' She was disappointed to see that the prey hunter had returned with no fresh kill. The pile was already running low, so that meant was going to have to go out later. Her belly rumbled and the slim black she-cat tucked her paws closer, embarrassed.

Falcon caught Panther's eye and crept closer. "Who do you think it will be?" she murmured, nudging the dark figure. She somehow figured the shy cat was not hoping she herself would get picked. Falcon knew she was more of a hunter, and not a leader. But still, she was curious of Panther's thoughts as well.

~ BTW, Bright, Falcon came into camp with a bunch of fresh-kill Lol. Unless Panther didn't know she came in before ~

~Oh I thought you said she missed that robin and brought back the catnip instead so she wouldn't be empty handed?~

Panther shrugged and inclined her head toward Shadow. The movement was almost imperceptible, just the slightest twitch so her brother wouldn't be able to see. "Could be anyone," she meowed out loud, with another half-hearted shrug. "But some cats have a better chance."

Falcon slightly tipped her head to the side. "I agree, but what people do you think have a better chance?" she meowed softly. She was waiting for an answer from Panther before herself. She was acting over-curious, but that was the likes of her.

~ Well that was when I came back. I caught a bunch of prey, brought it back, and went back and only came with catnip XD But it's okay ~

Flash watched her leader carefully. Hawk was about to announce it! She would accept the position, but Shadow was more fit for the job. If he was chosen, she would be really happy for him. He was a great cat already.

Panther shrugged again. She gestured at Shadow with her tail, and then at Dream. "Maybe her. Or Swoop." Her head nodded toward the senior cave guard. (Random cat.) "They're all confident and fit for the job." Personally Panther thought that it was a bit unfair that usually cave guards were chosen as second-in-command. Prey hunters should be just as capable.

Falcon tilted her head in understanding. She agreed. "I don't think it would be necessary for a prey hunter or cave guard to be in one of those positions," she thought aloud. "I mean, they're equally capable, but still." She flicked her tail behind her. "Want to hunt later?" she asked.

"Sure, after the announcement. I've been stuck in camp all morning, helping the nursing mothers patch a hole in the dens." Panther made a face, remembering the tumbling nuisance of a certain brown-and-white kit. What was her name? Oh yes. Flower that Grows From Rock. "Flower kept getting under my paws and stealing the leaves and such to play with." The pretty she-cat rolled her eyes and wriggled into a more comfortable position.

A twitch of pure amusement crossed Falcon's whiskers. "Okay. I found this nice little tree with a lot of robin. I scared most of them away by accident, but I've seen them all day. They'll come back."

Description- Dark brown tom with green eyes and one black ear.
Personality- Not the most pleasant tom, Bush tends to switch on the edge between shy and outright sarcastic. Although he does occasionally say random things, He's not much for a conversation.

Panther flicked her tail in agreement. "Plus that's probably the only good tree-shelter nearby," she said. "With smaller birds around, it'll mean bigger fowl like hawks will be close by too. They might prey on the robins, or the squirrels that also may live on the tree." She brightened at the prospect of a successful hunting trip and sat up straighter, suddenly impatient for Hawk to announce the new deputy.

Shadow shifted into a more comfortable position and stared tensely at Hawk. His mask of cool still held fast, but his gray eyes were cool with a hint of impatience. "I don't think we're getting any younger..." He mumbled with a soft sigh. Stormy gray eyes raked across the camp, calculating all the possible cats to be chosen. The tom hadn't been listening to his sister's conversation and was instead trying to figure out who everyone thought would be chosen. Rolling his bulky shoulders, Shadow figured his sister would be a good second in command. However, that was biased. Shaking his broad head, the mighty tom twitched his whiskers and grinned at his conclusion. "Dream that Lingers the Clouds! That's who'll be chosen. Or maybe Flash..." Shadow purred, pride in his eyes at the thought. He didn't yet realize he'd been muttering distantly to himself the whole time and just continued to watch Hawk calmly.

Flash tensed up. Hawk was getting ready. She sat impatiently. She looked over at Shadow. He was staring calmly at Hawk. Her gaze swept across her tribemates. Maybe Dream will be picked. She's a great cat, but I also hope Shadow will be picked, too. She thought. Flash stretched her paws. She was getting really sore from sitting so long. But she kept her patience and waited in silence.

Falcon's tension raised as she sat up. She was getting impatient. Who was going to be second-in-command? She hoped the best for Dream, but her bets went on Shadow. He was a great cat and seemed most suitable. Falcon bounced up slightly, eager to hear the name be shouted clearly.

" Panther will be the new second in command," Hawk yowled and flicked his tail happily at the she-cat."You have shown great skill and courage through your times," Hawk meowed and waited as the cheering rose.

Falcon was shocked. Panther didn't even want to be second-in-command. Panther was more of a hunter, not a fighter!

Hawk remembered the picture flash in his mind, a panther prowling through the mountains, it looked exactly like his friend,Panther, he knew it was her. But she never wanted to be second in command, what had the Tribe of Soaring Hunting done? "Panther would you like to take the place of second-in-command?" Hawk meowed camly.

Flash looked at Panther then back at Hawk. She gasped. Panther didn't want be second in command.
