"Huh. Tell that to the rest of the clan." Hauntedsoul muttered. "No one likes me anyways. They think I'm evil... because my eyes look like it. No one even pays attention to me, and I bet no one even knows if I even exist" She looked up at him, and nuzzled him, "You're the only person who knows I'm even here. You know, besides (random) Gorgestar, since I'm deputy. (random) Honeyleaf pretty much acts like deputy, and makes all the patrols. Why am I even in the clan? Should I run away...?" she smiled, "And stay with you?"

Miles scrabbled up a tree, for two reasons. There were some nice birds up there, and she smelled the scent of a Clan cat. She noticed her siler eyes. "Tch, cats can't have silver eyes," she snorted. Being judgmental as she was, she hopped to a different tree.

Shadesky padded out of camp, going solo after all. He went to hunt at his favourite spot; the nest of juicy blackbirds.

Brisingr groaned. "For the thousandth time, Nico, DON'T CALL ME BRI!!! It sounds girly." He hoped Nico had heard him, but thought it unlikely, given that all of Nico's attention was focused on Hauntedsoul.

Nico grinned. "You are just too good for them." Once she suggested leaving her clan, he growled. "No. That would ruin my friendship with Gorsestar (guess that will be the temp name till someone makes a leader.) Ill talk to him about Honeyleaf." His hazelish green gaze was alight wit anger. "She has no right to take over your rightful position."

"But Gorgestar doesn't have to know!" Hauntedsoul meowed, "And no one will notice me gone anyways. I'll be suprised if anyone did."

Tenebris appeared behind Brisingr like a shadow. "Hey Bri," he meowed, grinning. He flicked his tail at Nico. "What's up Nico? Oh sorry, i didn't notice that you were busy." Tenebris nodded slightly a Hauntedsoul and paused as a shadow crossed the ground, in the corner of his eye. "Miles." The black tom looked up.

"I may join the Clan later on then... Just stay in your Clan...please." he pleaded. Looking back at Tenebris with a smirk. "Hey! It's alright! where ya been?"

"Why? You guys are my only friends!" Hauntedsoul protested, "Why stay somewhere where your no one when you can stay somewhere you're sombody?" She smiled at Nico and licked his cheek. "Please..." She looked up at him with pleading eyes.

"No." he replied firmly. "Once I join, I plan to make you somebody." he explained, eyes an inferno.

"But you said you aren't fit for clan life, and I don't think I am either." Hauntedsoul objected. No one likes me... No one knows me... No one sees me... Do they know I even exist? she thought to herself. She looked up at him and meowed, "You know I'm right."

Nico frowned. "Trust me. They'll notice you. And I'll deal with Clanlife for you.." he looked away bashfully.

"When they notice, they'll be scared of me! Stupid eye color..." she muttered. She lookled up at Nico and smiled sweetly, "Really? You join the clan for me?" She smiled st him and purred, "You don't have to...-" she cut off. What should I say? she thought. She just stared at him, purring.

Scratch turned the corner with a juicey mouse clamped firmly in her jaws. He'd voice muffled by mouse fur she called too Brisingr "Hey Brisingr!" She padded over to him and Sst there. "Hauntedsoul is here again!?" Scratch never cared much about Hauntedsoul. But she always liked Brisingr.

Echocloud watched as the dawn patrol returned she held a bundle of herbs at her paws "Welcome back" she said cheerily. She loved her Clan and would do anything to protect it.

"Hey Scratch," Tenebris meowed mildly at the sound of her approach. He flicked his tail at Brisingr, gold-flecked green eyes flashing in amusement. "Should I leave you two alone as well?" Half-joking, Tenebris backed into the trees, his black fur melting into the shadows. "Miles? Are you still there?" Looking up, he strained to catch sight of the she-cat in the trees.

Miles hissed. "Oh, sorry. It's just you Tenebris. Thought it was that Clan cat." She stepped down a few branches and lounged on a particularly fat one. "The scent really gives me shivers, you know? Clan cats don't seem to have different scents in my nose. They're all the same. It scares me."

Tenebris flicked his tail. "I know what you mean. Before, I couldn't tell the difference between the scents of the two Clans, but gradually I began to pick out some differences." He leaped, landing next to Miles on the wide branch, making it bob under his extra weight. Nudging Miles, Tenebris added, "Besides, don't be scared. You know I can take of them!" He laughed, glancing down to see if Hauntersoul or Nico were alerted on what they were talking about.

"Hauntedsoul, do you really believe your Clan would never miss their deputy?" Brisingr said. "I know from experience how strong love can tug on you. But duty comes first. And you can't break the warrior code." Brisingr caught the scent of Tenebris in a nearby tree and turned and started climbing, sending down brown flakes of bark. He reached Tenebris and Miles's branch. "Hey Tenebris," he meowed. "Miles, did you find those blackbirds?"

"Well, found their empty nest," Miles grumbled, motioning her head towards a lump of dried grass on a branch above their heads. She turned her head to Tenebris. "I guess that would be true, Ten. I wouldn't mind slicing a few ears off either."

Hauntedsoul turned to Brisingr and meowed, "Everyone thinks the deputy is Honeyleaf, so would the clan would notice me gone? No. It's like they don't know I exist! They never notice me out of camp, anyways, or even in camp!" She looked back at Nico again.

Tenebris looked up. "Let's go hunting then," he suggested. For birds or cats? he mused to himself. "Coming Miles? Brisingr?" Tenebris paused, then suddenly leaped onto the truck of the tree, his claws digging in deep. Grumbling, he clambered upwards and peered into the empty birds' nest, poking a claw around the twigs. "No eggs. That means they might not come back." Tenebris released himself from the truck and dropped back onto Miles' branch. He glanced at Hauntedsoul, eyes narrowed. That's another show of what Clan life is like, huh? I'm glad I'm a rogue. Out loud, he meowed, "Well, they must notice that you've gone. They might come searching for you."

"Yeah, let's do that later," Miles yawned in reply. She rested her head on her paws so that she faced the Clan cat. "You sure you'd like to become a rogue? Clan cats hate most of us. Your Clan may not recognize you now, but once you've lost that stench off you, they will know you are an intruder in their territory."

"I doubt it. Even Gorgestar forgot I'm the actual deputy... If even Gorgestar forgot about me, why am I in a clan? I hate clan life. I'm not fit for it. Everyone is laughing and having fun, when I'm sitting in the warriors den unnoticed. Does that show how much I'm ignored?" Hauntedsoul meowed. She looked toward the direction of her clan, and heard and smelt nothing, then looked at Tenebris.

Tenebris flicked one ear. "Okay. But you heard Nico." He jerked his head in the direction of his friend. "He wants you to stay until he joins. Are you saying that you're going to become a rogue anyways?" He leaned back, balancing easily on the branch. "Being a rogue isn't easy. You need to know the territory, your enemies out here, and a lot more things.... Its different than Clan life."

"Or, you could be a loner like me," Miles added. "I come and go into different territories, though I prefer to stay away from Clans. The smell is intoxicating. Few cats know me, but I avoid fights when I can. There's a little barn I go to sometimes for food and shelter."

Brisingr sighed. If Hauntedsoul continued like this, she would end up like... Brisingr struggled topush his memories away. His was a dark and sorrowful past, and he didn't want to give away the freedom and happiness he had now. In my first life - NO!!! He reminded himself. DO NOT THINK ABOUT IT.
