Highstone trip

First topic message reminder :

Iceclover streatched her muscles in the sunight, and padded into the middle of camp. Today would be the day she recieved her nine lives. Various cats would accompany her, while her deputy, SHadowstorm, would watch over the camp while she is away.

Tawnypelt stiffened. Unfortunately, her greatest flaw was pride, but she swallowed it down and raced after the other cats. No way was she going to let the Riverclan cats run faster than her.

They passed some thick brush that was unfortunately wet and mushy. There were a few wild mushrooms growing there. The cats padded carefully along the side of the dirt (now mud) trail.

Tawnypelt sniffed the air. "Um, are you sure this is the way?" She asked anxiously. It didn't look like it to her.

"Well...we had to take another route because of the wet mud," Nightfrost explained.

Tawnypelt snorted. "In case you haven't noticed, we ARE treading through mud right now," she said pointedly. She hated sticky paws and couldn't help being irritable.

"Well, you Shadowclan cats just aren't used to the dense bush of the Riverclan territory," Nightfrost teased, batting Tawnypelt over the ear lightly with her (fortunately dry-ish) paw.
"We are completely capable of exploring on our own,"Tawnypelt mewed with a glint in her eye.

"are you cats gonna sit here all day and gossip like elders?" meowed Iceclover, not angrily but with a slight mrow of amusement
Cheesefur and Tawnypelt licked their chest fur in embarasement. "Okay, lets head this way," said Nightfrost. "It's drier and less likely to get wet, though I have no problem with getting MY paws wet," The ShadowClan cats followed NIghtfrost through the forest, watching out for wet muddy puddles.

Tawnypelt rolled her eyes. "You know, we have boggy marshes and wet areas in our territory too," she muttered under her breath. "It's just that when paws get muddy" she paused "not WET by clean rainwater, they stink unbearably."

So, the cats continued to travel across Riverclan territory, and Tawnypelt's stomach began to rumble. Then it got numb. Then she felt like where her stomach used to be, was a huge, gaping hole. She glanced at Iceclover, wondering how her leader was coping without any of the traveling herbs. Then she looked at Cheesefur who had twice her share. Then she tried to concentrate on anything but food.

Cheesefur noticed the slouched shoulders of her clanmates (and the Riverclan cats) and felt guilty that she had eaten all those unnecessary herbs.
"Let's stop for some prey. Got anything to eat?" Cheesefur asked Nightfrost, casting a glance at Icestar.

(you know the suggestions for "Cheesefur" are Cheese fur, Cheese-fur, Cheeseparing, Cheesecloth and Cheerfuller )

wait! apologies to Iceclover if it was supposed to be "Iceclover" instead of "icestar" cuz you wanted to change it to that after the trip.

Tawnypelt straightened up. NO way was she going to act weak with hunger in front of other cats. Besides, Highstone (moonstone?) shouldn't be too far away now. Hopefully.

(wait...in the books how long does it usually take to get there?)
"Well, there are probably some water voles by the shore over there," Nightfrost offered.
"Great. Anyone need something to eat?" Cheesefur mewed.
The cats all stared back at her i stony silence. Didn't anyone care about their hunger?

"Well, maybe we can hunt later," Tawnypelt said. Cheesefur looked hurt when they set off again. "We're not too far away, right?" Then she nudged Cheesefur comfortingly. She wanted to say yes, she was starving, but when no one else said they were, she just kept quiet.

-idk how far away it is. We still need peeps to give me lives, though-

Iceclover yawned, and streatched.
"Lets stop for some prey now" She suggested. Wildclaw jumped out of a random bush with a rabbit and said "HERE ICECLOVER IS A BUNNY FOR YOU"
Hehehe 'strokes beard evily.....'

Tawnypelt regarded Wildclaw with some suspicion. Had he been stalking them for the entire day? But somehow she hadn't smelled him, or heard any sound of him either.

Cheesefur sniffed the air again. Wildclaw was standing only a few tail lengths away, but somehow she couldn't smell his scent. Did he roll around in fox dung?Cheesefur wondered. But he doesn't smell like dung.
Cheesefur stepped closer to Wildclaw and sniffed again. There was the faintest trace of pine that clung to his fur.

(Iceclover, are you going to make Wildclaw die or something? Well, then you would have someone to give you your lives or at least one of them. )

-yeah, ok. he is inactive, anyway.-

Iceclover shook her head, and sighed. "Cheesefur and Tawnypelt, you can share that. Ill go catch my own prey." Iceclover started to sniff out nearby scents. Huh, rabbit or mouse? Which one should I hunt? Iceclover thought.

Tawnypelt took a few mouthfuls then pushed the rest over to Cheesefur. She suddenly didn't feel too hungry, especially after Wildclaw disappeared abruptly when Iceclover went hunting.

Let's hope she just gets her lives and we can go back to camp Tawnypelt thought. Without any crazy attackers.

Cheesefur gladly took the rest of the rabbit. Even though she had eaten double the amount of traveling herbs than the others, she was still looking forwaard to sinking her teeth into something meaty. She was just about to take a second colossal bite when she noticed that none of the other cats were eating. Iceclover had bounded off into a thicket while the Riverclan cats were washing themselves quietly. Cheesefur awkwardly slid the rabbit into a bush and ate the rest. Wildclaw is up to something, she thought as she bit out the meatiest part to eat later.
