Resurgence: IceClan RPG (Closed - Invite Only)

Scarlett watched from the bushes without a sound as she noticed a few members of ThunderClan padded past. She couldn't fight back the look of disgust about how soft the Clan had become. Since Monkeystar stepped down as leader, the Clan had changed. They were all about 'Clan equality' and 'doing the right thing' now. It didn't matter that all of the other Clans walked all over them. The tabby she-cat looked over at the warriors as they stopped. Scarlett noticed a grey she-cat that she already knew to be named Silverstream with another she-cat that she had only more recently seen while observing the Gatherings. This must be Hazelshade. Scarlett looked over at Nocte and signaled her to let her know that they would be moving closer before stalking over to another bush a few tail lengths away.
After waiting for a few heartbeats, Nocte moved after her Clanmate. Once she'd settled into the undergrowth, she tuned back into the conversation.
"Are you done marking the borders, Hazelshade?"
"Yeah. I don't know why we bother though so much with it though. It's not like the other Clans are going to invade us."
"Oh well. Might as well be careful."
Nocte held in a snort of disgust. The warriors were loud and lethargic-- no sense of efficiency. Even their voices were sleepy, droning on in almost a monotone as they moved along the border line. The next sentence caught her attention, however.
"At least we don't have to worry about that rogue group anymore."
"Wait, what? You mean the Masqueraders, Silverstream?"
"Yes. Didn't you hear? They disbanded recently--"
"What!"
"-- and left their territory and everything, just disappeared. Nobody know what happened to them."
"That can't be true."
"Well it is."
"Where did you hear? I can't believe I just found out now."
"The deputies last Gathering..."
Nocte pricked her ears, straining to hear more, but the ThunderClan patrol had already moved out of range, probably heading back to camp. It wasn't worth the effort to follow them anymore anyways. She turned back excitedly to look at Scarlett. "They left everything," she whispered. "The Graekida plant. And the Tersus Crystal. IceClan can get them before the others even think of retrieving the Masqueraders' things!" Maybe IceClan could even figure out what had caused the Masqueraders to disband. The items would be an extra bonus. Nocte wasn't too worried about the other Clans racing them to the Masquerader encampment. From what she'd seen from ThunderClan, they'd be too busy squabbling over petty things like borders to notice.
Scarlett looked at Nocte thoughtfully for a moment. Well it doesn't make much of a reason to go to why another clan has fallen. The point would be that they are long gone now and are unlikely to come back. So why does it matter why they left?... But...The items on the other hand would make for a great asset for IceClan, even if we only had them so the other clans would not. Scarlett studied the direction of the ThunderClan warriors wandering carefully to be sure that she wasn't heard. "We will go. But first we need to make a few preparations at the fortress." she said in a clear but quiet whisper. In one swift movement she was on her paws without a sound and she signaled to Nocte that it was time for them to be getting back before racing back towards where she knew the fortress to be.

~O.O.C.: This will mark the beginning of IceClan's return to the territory. None of the other clans are even aware that IceClan is back or that they are being carefully monitored. This is an IceClan only RP and will begin at the fortress as Nocte and Scarlett are returning. A Character form will not be necessary. All IceClan members are free to jump in.~

Dusk brushed against Scarlett once again before saying, "I shall go immediately." He rested his head besides her as a sort of hug, and he looked at the other cats and smirked. "We'll we shouldn't keep her waiting now shall we?" He started to walk off.

Scarlett let out a soft purr at Dusk's comment before giving him a quick lick on the cheek and turning away. She looked down the mountainside one more time before she signaled for Specter to follow her. The first few steps were the easiest, but as they continued the mountain face stretched into steep cliffs. Scarlett paused periodically to measure each leap as she made her way down the ledge. The last thing that she wanted was to misstep and plummet down the remainder of the mountain.

As the wind blew, she couldn't help but stop and enjoys the breeze raking at the side of her pelt. The snow was kicked up with each breeze and she always seemed to find it refreshing to see the way it fell so gracefully. It reminded her of how IceClan was taught to hunt and fight and all of their training seemed to be focused around the more graceful movements that allow them to go unnoticed by the other clans. It was the one thing to really keep them from being attacked by the other clans.

"We can start by searching in WindClan." she mewed to the lightly colored tom.

Specter wasted little time following Scarlett on the path down the mountain. He made his way down the path carefully but with ease, back before he fully joined IceClan Specter frequented the paths leading up and down the mountain often. He knew the entire mountain like the fur on his paws, from the foothills all the way to the summit. Though nowadays he slept more than he traveled, Specter never forgot a single crevice on the mountain.

He just wished the snow would stop blowing up in the breeze, it reminded him too much of his old life before joining IceClan, the life where he wandered aimlessly in a lonely world and never had time or a good place for a proper nap. But now he lived as a member of IceClan, and while he enjoyed spending his time napping Specter was determined to protect his new life in every way he can. "Fun, we get to start off in the place where I have to put the most effort into hiding. I hope you aren't doing that on purpose Scarlett." Specter said with a hint of sarcasm.

Scarlett's tail flicked in clear amusement as she paused to look at Specter. "Of course I wouldn't be dong that on purpose. Your fluffy white pelt will have a far more difficult time in Shadowclan after all. That is why we will go there after sundown" she retorted very matter-of-factly. More quickly now, the reddish brown tabby padded down he mountain cliff until they made it to the bottom of the cliff and then she pelted off down the remaining slope towards the highland moors.

Dusk walked outside. The cold breeze brushed against his fur coat as he took a deep breath. I suppose I ought to get to the Phantom Canyon He thought to himself as he began making his first few pawprints in the snow. He glanced back for a moment and then began swiftly making his way to the destination.

Phasma nodded in understanding after hearing the plan, then turned to make her way down the mountainside. She'd quickly caught up to Dusk, her eyes constantly scanning the cliffs, finding the best way down. Phasma was doubtful that the Masqueraders had returned the crystal the Phantom Canyon, but they still might pick up useful information along the way, and there was always the chance they'd decided to hide it there. Each breeze scattered the snow around her, covering up her pawprints as if she were never even there. She enjoyed the breeze on her pelt, not bothered by the cold like most clan cats would be.

Dusk looked down the cliff and the smirked as he looked over to Phasma. "Long way done eh?" He began to chuckle a bit as he hopped from one ledge to another. "Aren't you coming?" He said as he began to feel a little overconfident. He made it down safely and rolled his neck for a bit as he let out a sigh and spoke quietly to himself. "That was a good stretching exercise." He glanced up to Phasma and let out a smirk as he sat down.

Dusk’s patience began to wear thin. “Very well, you can stay there, but I am going to finish the task Scarlett had assigned us.” Dusk began to walk into the valley surrounded by never ending cliffs that looked like they launch into the sky forever. “Now where to look?” Dusk thought to himself as he looked over to the left. “Gah, this is going to take a bit of time isn’t it?” He said softly to himself.

"That doesn't change the fact that the moors are a pain to sneak through." Specter muttered as he picked up his pace to keep up with Scarlet as they made their way to WindClan territory. If all went well he hoped that they could finish this quickly and without too much unneeded trouble, Specter planned to take a nice long nap after this little mission of theirs.

Scarlett padded away from the tom choosing to ignore the sound of what came off as annoyance in his voice and began focusing on their task. She knew he was right after all and that sneaking into the other clans territories would be difficult when his pelt was so noticeable. The tabby spent several seconds surveying the land one more time, knowing this would likely be the last time that she would have the opportunity to use a higher vantage point for quite some time and she needed to plan out their route before they continued on. WindClan has a lot of tall grass patches... If we keep to those we should have no trouble getting by the patrols. When Scarlett finally looked back at Spectre she gave a slight nod. "Stick to the taller grass. It has been a very long time since WindClan had smelled the scent of IceClan. We can use that to our advantage." After speaking, she wasted no time waiting for a response and instead dashed town the last few rocks and headed straight for the WindClan border.

It sure is easy to get lost here Dusk thought has he made a left turn in the canyon. He noticed that some of the walls were glistening with a bright yellow light. Dusk made a stop as he observed the shiny ores on the wall. He tilted his head a bit before he shook himself out of it. Just as he did that he noticed a quick movement up ahead. Dusk was startled by this, and he watched in anticipation. Is somebody else down here!? “Phasma? Is that you?”… There was no response. The feline began to move forward. His legs felt heavy and weak, his heart began pounding, and his breathing felt like it had vanished. He gave out a weak chuckle. “Okay Phasma, you got me.” But the air was silent and still. He had hoped that he could hear her voice to comfort himself, but he felt eyes piercing through his skull. Almost as if he was being watched, or stalked. He paused. Dusk’s calm and frightened behavior transformed his voice into an aggressive and demanding command. “You better show yourself now!” A slight breeze flew down into the chasm and brushed against his fur coat, leaving him with a chill down his whole body. Dusk’s aggressive behavior only managed to frighten him more. His ears tilted back as he continued to press onward. The fear and anticipation forced him not to blink as he turned the corner slowly. His world now felt like it would end in these few seconds. He shut his eyes tightly and pushed himself through. His eyes opened as he let out a startling noise…There was nothing there. Dusk let out a deep breath as his body felt a wave of relaxation. I must have been seeing things. He thought as he continued to search for the crystal.

Phasma made her way into the canyon, keeping an eye out for any sign of the crystal. She'd hoped maybe she'd catch up to Dusk here, but it seemed like he'd gone on ahead without her. "Dusk? Where are you?" she called out. She waited several heartbeats but there was no response. It's his fault for running ahead like that. She would just have to continue searching on her own. The canyon had an ominous feeling to it; it felt like someone was watching her. She just ignored it at first, focusing on what she came here for. She knew about the cave that the crystal was first found in, so it seemed a good a place as any to start looking. It still felt like she was being watched, and it was starting to bother her, but every time she behind her, there was nothing. She began to walk more quickly. She didn't like this place, and the sooner they left, the better.

Dusk, relived that there was nothing behind the corner, began to calmly walk forward. Yet there continued to be an uneasy feeling throughout the air. Ugh…This could take HOURS just to find this crystal. Dusk thought as he turned another corner. Then the sound of a small rock rolling down the canyon wall echoed throughout the chasm. Dusk, startled by the sound, became a little annoyed. Is everything going to scare me like that here? No wonder it is called “Phantom Canyon”. He looked up into the air and saw that the sky had turned a chilling red and yellow. His heart began pounding abruptly to the point where it felt like his whole body was moving from it. No…the sunset. It’s getting dark and I am lost here!? Dusk began panicking. He tried to start running, but he just stood there…Paralyzed at the thought of being in this spooky abyss in the dark. I hope Phasma knows I am still down here…

"Right, time for some sneaking." Specter said before running after Scarlett. While he still didn't like feeling so exposed even with the tall grass providing cover, Specter was now beginning to feel a little bit of excitement just to be sneaking through another clan's territory to eavesdrop on them. Even though he'll miss a couple of his naps, at least he could have some fun and get a mission complete at the same time.

Where is that cave? It has to be around her somewhere. It felt like she had been walking for hours, but there was still no sign of the cave or Dusk. She looked up and noticed the sky turning red. Oh great, it's getting dark. It would be even harder trying to find the cave in the dark. And she also didn't want to be alone in this place, in the dark. She began moving faster, and ended up nearly running straight into Dusk. "There you are," she meowed with an annoyed tone in her voice, "I thought I'd never catch up to you with you running off like that." She was still annoyed that he had run off, but she was glad not to be alone in this spooky canyon.

Dusk jumped when he saw Phasma. “I am sure glad to see you.” He said with a small chuckle in his voice. His whole body felt a warm relief as he managed to make a smile. “So any idea how we are going to find this crystal Scarlett was talking about?” He said as he licked his paw and combed the frizzed up hair from Phasma’s little jump scare.

"Well if it's anywhere," she said, "It'll probably be back hidden in the cave where it was found. It's the only safe place around here to hide it." Phasma looked around again, and saw what looked like an opening in the cliff side. "I think I see it over there," she meowed. It better be the entrance to the cave. The sooner they found the crystal, the better.

Dusk began hurrying alongside Phasma to the entrance. The only safe place around here? Dusk thought in his head. It wasn’t long before images of ghosts , skeletons, and various other undead creatures twirled in his head. He shuddered at the thoughts, but tried to focus on getting into that opening on the cliff side. “So what? We just enter this cave and take the crystal? Sounds a little easy.” Dusk became a bit skeptical

Scarlett could feel the waves of anticipation coming from Specter but she knew better than to be to overly excited about crossing the clans borders. It had been a long time since IceClan had been seen or heard of around the other clans and she wasn't ready to make their presence known yet. The time wasn't quite right for that.

A strong scent of rabbit and various smells of cat broke her away from her thoughts. Obviously y now they were not far from WindClan's camp now. She lifted her tail signaling for Specter to stop. "We will wait here for now and see what information we can gather." No need to risk being discovered since it wsn't likely that WindClan would know anything anyway.

"So let the spying begin!" Specter said excitedly but quietly. He hadn't eavesdropped on a clan's camp since his rogue days, so this mission was so nostalgic that Specter wanted to laugh. And to top it off Scarlett chose a spot to lay low that he approved of, it was perfect for relaxing in the tall grass with just the right angle of sunlight to keep him from dosing off while the scent of rabbit mixed with WindClan cats permeated through the air. "It's such a nice day today here on the moors. I should come here for a nap sometime." Specter said as he yawned and curled up on the ground.

The cave's darkness made it seemed like it went on forever. The humidity frizzed Dusk's hair and the eerie feeling continued to linger. Dusk's eyes needed to adjust before he could use his night vision. Something slithered across his paw, and he quickly jerked it back. "Be careful where we wander off too. I don't want us to get lost again." his voiced echoed, but he kept a serious face as he looked at Phasma. He took a deep breath and looked ahead. Well let's go then shall we?

Dusk pressed onward with caution. He looked around the cave for a sign where the crystal should be. Without paying attention in front of him he carelessly walked into a spider web that broke onto his fur. "Gah!" Dusk's yelp echoed throughout the cavern. Then a spider the size of a human hand fell down and skittered away. I just want to find this crystal and get out of here! Dusk thought, a little annoyed.

The rigged, sharp, and rocky floor poked and stabbed at his paws. Dusk clenched his teeth and bared with the pain as he headed further through the cave. Do this for Scarlett. I can't let her down. Dusk thought to himself. This little motivation kept him pushing forward, even though he felt like collapsing in pain. He knew his paws were bleeding, but didn't want to worry about it any more than he already. Just as Dusk got to the end of the cavern, he tripped over a rock and fell down and landed on his jaw. "Oww!" His eyes squeezed should as moaned in pain. The pain in both his jaw and paws throbbed. Just as Dusk looked up he saw it...The crystal. He smirked. "There you are." The crystal illuminated in the dark gloomy cavern. Its color was a brilliant shade of light blue. Dusk had never seen anything like it...He turned back to Phasma, but noticed she wasn't in sight. "Ugh! Did I not say stick together!" Dusk said with a sigh. He saw something approach him through the darkness. At first Dusk thought it might be Phasma, but it had a strange glow to it. "Hello?" Dusk said preparing himself for a fight. Dusk got into defense position, expecting whatever it was to strike him at any minute. When he could finally make out the appearance of the being he froze. It was a cat, but he could see through it. The cat just sat down and looked at Dusk with a tilt in her head. It didn't say anything but just let out one weak sounding "Meow." The apparition disappeared and Dusk shook it off as he grabbed the crystal and began heading off.

The cave's darkness seemed endless. Great, I got to find Phasma again. Dusk thought. He continued to walk forward with the crystal in the grip of his mouth. I don't even know how to get out of here myself. Ugh, I should have left marks on the wall or something. Dusk had a quick flashback of when he was out in the Phantom Canyon feeling scared and paranoid. I have to remain calm. Dusk thought to himself. Being steady and confidence is the key to get out of here...But where would Phasma be? Dusk continued to walk in the light forsaken cavern until he felt one of his paws get a deep fresh cut. Dusk let out a painful moan. He wanted to scream louder, but the crystal in his mouth kept his voice down. The moan echoed across the walls. That's it! If I was to yell something, the echo would surely find Phasma! Dusk put the crystal down in front of him. "Hey Phasma! Where are you at!?" His loud tone seemed to boom down the cavern.

When Dusk received no answer he began to get worried. I hope Phasma is alright. He picked the crystal back up into his mouth and began running in the labyrinth in hopes he will find Phasma. The first path he followed led to a dead end. Ugh I thought for sure this was the way out. Dusk thought. He put the crystal down again and yelled. "Phasma!" Still no reply. He constantly repeated this through out the cavern. Putting the crystal down, yelling, and picking it back up. He began to become discouraged, but then he saw light up ahead. The exit! Dusk smiled. Phasma has to be out there! She just has to be!
