~Icestar's Welcome~
Welcome, visitor. Why do you come at this hour of the day? You should have arrived a little later, right before sundown, to eat with us and try a taste of frog. Even though it does not sound appetizing, I promise if you try it, you’ll like it. Or at least grow to like it. You aren’t interested in trying frog, you say? You like mice? Ah, I recognize you. I’ve seen you around the borders, haven’t I? Smart of you not to cross them without permission or hunt our prey. Well, at any rate, welcome to ShadowClan! I see Russetfeather and Glimmermist have escorted you here. Russetfeather is our deputy, our second-in-command, and Glimmermist is our field healer. That basically means Glimmermist is trained in the ways of specially treating injured cats while on patrol or on the battlefield. We don’t have any apprentices now, but if you decide to join us, another warrior will teach you the warrior code and how to be a vital part of the Clan. But for now, I’ll show you around.

Here is the main clearing- all the warriors gather here between patrols. See the apprentices, over there? They’re learning the Warrior Code, a code ShadowClan respects and follows painstakingly. ShadowClan is best known for sneaking through the forest. Some Clans say this is cowardly, but they are just jealous that they don’t have the element of surprise on their side. Even ThunderClan with their tree-climbing antics can’t rival the way we can blend into the forest, seeming to merge with trees and shrubbery, and the Masqueraders can’t copy the way we slink silently through the night, not disturbing a shadow. Our paws have grown accustomed to the mushy marsh and boggy soil that surrounds our camp, although newcomers can’t help but step cautiously through the boggy parts of our forest. The wetness helps us keep cool, and honestly we aren’t kittypets, so we’re not going to be sheltered from the elements all the time anyway. Who cares if we’re a little damp?

The pine needles are a comforting scent after trips into the harsh mountains and plains. My den, underneath the roots of that oak tree, is lined with them to relax me after a long day of being a leader. Apparently, it also contains goose down, which Shadowstorm got from who knows where. My deputy sleeps with the warriors underneath that bramble bush. I swear it isn’t prickly on the inside! The apprentices do a fine job keeping it lined with pine needles and moss to protect our pelts. I hold clan meetings from the top of that rock over there, next to my oak tree. See how it’s propped up against a second rock? The space between the two is our medicine cat’s den. makes sure all of our cats are well cared for. She also teaches Ivypaw the herbs so one day Ivypaw can take over as head medicine cat. Glimmermist is also trained in the basic ways of a warrior, but still shares dreams with StarClan and treats our cats inside and outside camp. Your head is spinning with all these new names and jobs? You’ll soon grow used to them. I run this camp like clockwork, with a lot of credit to my deputy Russetfeather.

Well, welcome to ShadowClan! I must go lead the evening patrol now, but if any of our warriors give you any trouble feel free to find Scarheart and complain to her. Pay no attention to the stares from the shadows. Our cats are just curious of the newcomer and mean no harm. ShadowClan’s sneakiness sometimes comes off as fear or hostility, but really we are just naturally camouflaged. I hope you enjoyed your time in ShadowClan!

ShadowClan’s history on the site:
((note; Icestar is very bad at dates so if anything is wrong PM her))
ShadowClan was born when Dragonclaw appointed an oblivious Iceclover to the position in March 2011. ShadowClan was one of the four original Clans created on the site. Iceclover appointed Shadowstorm as her first deputy, and Crystaldance became the first medicine cat. ShadowClan may have made their RP debut in Shadowstorm’s Peril(date needed), in which Shadowstorm was captured and put in a coma by IceClan and ThunderClan, and the other Clans needed to ally together to save him. This RP was a three-topic RPG which was planned to end in the leadership transition between Icestar and Shadowstorm, but the RP became inactive before this change could take place. Another notable early RP that ShadowClan was in was Territory War 1, where ThunderClan and RiverClan fought over the Sunningrocks. Icestar took a vote, and the majority of warriors voted to side with RiverClan. In (August 2011?), Icestar applied for a Global Mod position, and ended up being selected for the position with Blizzard and (Skyeye). As a result, she had to turn over her leadership to Shadowstorm. Shadowstorm selected his new deputy as Sorrelstar, who in turn became leader after Shadowstar became inactive. ((If anyone was active during this time it would be awesome if you could PM me more information about this time, approx a year))Icestar became inactive as well, but returned in 2013 just as Sorrelstar became inactive and Dragonclaw sent out a notice for new ShadowClan leader applications. Icestar applied, and was selected as the ShadowClan leader once again. Icestar appointed Snowlily as her deputy, and numerous new members joined. After a few months, Snowlily left to become Snowstar and lead ThunderClan, and Icestar appointed Russetfeather as her new deputy and appointed Gingerlion, Ivypaw, and Glimmermist as her new medicine cats. As of Tainted, ShadowClan has not been a driving force or won any items in the modern ORPGs.
