Blocked Posts

Is there a blocked post thing? If not there should be a thing where it prevents a post from being shown if it is swearing, or sexual content. And it owuld also block it from passing the filters (like putting a number but sitll obvious what word is) ad, yeha, this would really help the site stay child-safe!

WCF is pretty "child-safe" already. We haven't had any problems with topics/posts containing inappropriate content. But if we did, be rest assured that action will be taken immediately (deleting, locking etc.)

But it would be easier to make this feature, andanother warriors site I wenton had this one guy register and do nothing but make sexual posts, so a block is necessary, it can ahppen to any forum.

Remember that they still must pass registration to begin posting

It'd be hard to classify what is or isn't inappropriate/a swear word, too. There are also various possibilities for substituting numbers and/or symbols for letters. The filter couldn't catch all of them, probably. It would have to be applied to chats and PMs too.

This is a good idea, though I don't think we need it until someone has actually said a bad word and such.

I nkow but obvious ones like 0 in the f word, it's pretty obvious, and someone can pretend to tact all nice until they can actually post.

You can post as soon as you join: so I don't know what you mean by 'when they can post.'

Anyways, if a person posts sexual content, swearing, etc., they'll be breaking a site rule. They'll be banned, the post deleted immediately. You aren't supposed to do any of that anyways so there's no point.

Plus if you block a member, it does block their posts.

I agree with the others and don't think this is really necessary right now. We haven't had any problems with people swearing, and if they did, the mods would delete it imediately, and that person would get banned. I know this has already been said, but I wanted to share my thoughts.

I actually agree with you Lunar. This is a good idea, and it can happen to any forum, but let's wait until it actually happens before we take action

Don't we have this? I mean, there's no filter but inappropriate posts (or others that break the rules) will get deleted or hidden...

I'm just saying, with this fourm getting so famous, it will probably happen one day, and why not be prepared? I'm just saying it block posts with swearing or anything bad in it, not anything that's a good post.

I hope it won't happen. Most people will abide by the rules. If anything like that happens at one point, then we might do it.

-_- most sites with 1k+ members will have some moron go post bad stuff, and it's like you want it to happen, because it's not like you'll get a warning ahead of time, thye will just join and then do it, you are not currently safe, and I want to be safe. -_-
