The Ones

The elemental creeds have lived in peace for a few long years after fighting for land. They have finally settled the ordeal and began to trust each other like they used to. Meetings held each month keep them connected and there isn't really a need for elemental warriors anymore except for the occasional nomad spats. However, now, there is an issue that is fast approaching. The Ones. A 'fictional' beings whom control all of the elements! Evidence has shown up during the meetings for the past two months! In the legends, it states that the Ones will be like no other and have supreme power over the world. It's also said that they will come with people whom own odd powers unknown to the people of the Elemental Creeds that surround the world. The Ones are supposed to give the Creeds peace from the annoying and rather troublesome nomads, rogues, and occasional bandit groups. Also, they will bring abundant food and riches. The fight is on to find and win over the Ones. They have come to call them the "Element Gods".

Kun nodded at the new arrivals. Coal, also being predatory, stood at attention next to Shurikan, growling protectively. His chocolate brown eyes had darkened to nearly black. Kun hopped to her feet with a frown. Not bothering to wipe the dust from her clothes, the Earth Goddess gave her fox a pat. "Calm down! You're too protective, Coal. Lilith, Rin, Thalia, and Libitina are our friends!" The black brute grumbled but sat. "Shurikan, you can untense too, they won't harm Ren." her voice was soft and kind as she stroked the tiger's head. Her small hands ran through the soft pelt smoothly and, as always, delicately gently. "So, what's up, guys?" she grinned lazily.

Tobias walked toward the group with his pet white lion, Neva right next to him. "Hey, Kun. Wanna train together?" he asked, ignoring the others pointedly. He hated groups and only spoke to those he respected or wanted to. After that fight Kun was in last week, Tobias had respect for the girl.

Kun was shocked to see Tobias, but smiled warmly. "I's hanging out with some friends at the moment. Maybe in a bit. Wanna join us?" her eyes warmed. Tobias was misunderstood by many, but Kun could understand the boy well. All he needed was a bit of kindness. She was the one who could provide that. Maybe they could turn out being good friends in the end.

Tobias shrugged, his red-brown eyes bored. "I guess." he leaned against Neva as the lion purred and rasped a rough tongue along Tobias's hand.

Anila looked in the mirror with a sigh. Why did she have to be so differemt? A giant bird was on his perch, looking around. Anila was that one girl everyone avoided because of how different she was. "Let's go, Yogi." she smiled. As the bird flew across the bathroom, she put her leather jacket on so his talons wouldn't hurt her shoulder. He landed on her, she put on her hat, and opened the door of the orphanage. She looked around, no one even looking at her. She walked around, and saw Kun, Lilith, Rin, Thalia, and Libitina. She walked over to them, and said casually, "Hey, guys." Yogi glared at everyone, then Anila looked at Yogi. "They're friends. Leave them alone." he looked down, then looked back up at everyone. "How is everyone?" she smiled.

Thalia smiled and sat down next to Ren while Rin shook out her mane. "Nothing much really. I was just out riding with Rin." She said motioning toward Rin who neighed in response.

Lilith grimaced as Thalia sat down next to Ren. That girl is so annoying but she is amazing at her power. Ugh lucky girl! Lilith thought. She decided to stay standing so she didn't ruin her dress. Libitina narrowed her eyes at Shuriken and Coal as if challenging them. "Libitina come on now." Lilith said holding out her arm once more. Libitina happily slithered back up Lilith's arm and the snake raised up the front part of her body, displaying her beautiful hood.

Ren tapped the side of his leg with his fingers. "Sure," he agreed. "Be nice to have something to do." "'Sup, Anila," Ren added, laying a hand on Shruikan's head as the tige's yellow eyes fixed on the bird perched on Anila's shoulder. "Training would work some of the jitters of our pets," he added, twisting his long fingers into Shruikan's mane. "Want to try a team battle?" Ren glanced over his shoulder at Kun, eyes questioning.

"Fine with me. I'll take Kun." he said almost challengingly to Ren. His expression looked calm or maybe even lazy, but his eyes told all. He didn't like Ren. Not one bit.

Kun shrugged. She looked very surprised when Tobias called being on her team. Coal had stood once more at the sound of training. he rumbled excitedly. Kun wasn't really sure what to do, so she just looked at everyone with a confused look in her eyes.

"Yogi could use some training, considering he's so fat. Anyways, I dunno who to pick." she laughed. She looked at her bird, who was looking around at everyone and everything around him. "He's gotten too fat." she laughed. She poked her birds belly and heard it rumble. Loudly. She laughed. She smiled, "Who wants to practice with me?"

Ren narrowed his eyes, something dark flickering in pale irises, dimming the bright flecks of silver. "Okay," he said after a long silence. There was a strange tenseness in his shoulders now as Ren glanced back at Kun. "If it's okay with Kun..."

Kun cursed silently in her head and gave Ren the evil eye. "Sure...don't want you to get hurt traing AGAINST me anyway." Kun joked. She hated making decisions, but she had already made a goal to get to know and help Tobias, so she guessed this was a chance.

Tobias snorted at Ren. "Okay then. Let's get to training." he ignored the girls with distaste.

"Okay..." Ren tugged on Shruikan's fur, the tiger turning to nose him. "I'll take Lilith then," Ren decided. He glanced at the other two girls and said, "You two good with that?" Training would help improve their skills at least, regardless of who was on whose team.

Kun turned sharply and tugged Tobias toward the far end of the field. "Let's go on our side. We'll begin after stretching and warm ups....so the pansies don't get hurt." after throwing Ren a pointed look, Kun jogged to their end, dragging Tobias by the hand. Coal followed energetically, barking sharply as he ran, tail going ninety to nothing.

Tobias looked very shocked, but grinned darkly at Ren and followed Kun readily. Neva followed swiftly, looking wary of all the people they had turned their backs on.

Ren didn't answer or retaliate, instead choosing choosing to tap his fingers impatiently against the tree. He wasn't really worried about Tobias. Fire was easily dampened by water, and too obvious in the dark. "Ready, Lilith? I suppose we're suppose to go to our side of the field," he added in a mutter, rolling his eyes. Shruikan took the lead, the massive Siberian tiger pacing through the tall grass. His stripes blended him in, and he still made no sound with the dry stems beneath his paws. Envying Shruikan's easy stealth, Ren followed close behind, letting his pet choose the best path.

Kun did a cartwheel across the field, then a Double Layout Full In, Full Out. Then doing a few warm ups, she was ready, bouncing from foot to foot.

Tobias stretched, but did nothing to show off. He just started at Kun. "How..." he shook his head in disbelief.

Kun grinned and dashed around, Coal at her heels. "Come on! Run around a bit to loosen up!" she called with a laugh. Tobias shook his head again in refusal. "Let's just start..." he held back a grin.

Lilith nodded smiling at Ren. "You look tense. Don't worry ok? We'll beat those losers, water can destroy fire am I right. And with Libitina and Shurikan here we'll be fine. She smiled at Ren. The look in his eyes when Kun was on the other team, it just broke her heart to see one of her best friends so upset. "We'll be ok. Promise." A sudden anger sparked inside her and she recalled how her power sometimes effects her personality.
She quickly warmed up some stretching slightly. Lilith faced a tree and summoning a large black and purple ball of energy she flung it at the tree. Half the tree incinerated and the other half was on fire. Lilith smiled and turned back to face Kun and Tobias. "Libitina be ready, you may be small but your stealth and attack is much more powerful." Lilith said smiling. "Ready Ren?"

Ren returned Lilith's smile, grateful for his friend's support. "Ready as I ever will be I guess," he said dryly. Shruikan stretched luxuriously, jaws gaping into the sky as his back arched like a cat's. The tiger blinked lazily up at Ren, the glint in his golden eyes still as sharp as ever. Ren tapped the area between the tiger's eyes, water vapor gathering around his fingertips as he began bottling up on his power.

"Ready, to start?" Tobias called impatiently.

Kun gave a mischievous grin with a hint of envy as she saw Ren smile at Lilith. "Ready to get beat, Lily?" she called to him tauntingly. The girl knew that was a very sensitive spot to him, but for some reason, right now, she didn't care. At all. It was his fault for making her feel like this. Feel the need to get his attention any way she could. But why all of a sudden? Kun was confused and felt oddly sad about it, however, she pushed it roughly away and went head on blindly.

Anila sighed. Still, no one paid attention to her. She whistled for Yogi to land on her shoulder, which he did, and she started to walk away, seeing if the group even noticed. She whipped her head around to see if they did, but she turned around and started walking off again.

"Anila!" Kun called to her retreating friend. "C'mon! Wanna be on our team?" the tan girl jogged after the girl with a grin. "It'll be fun." she promised.

Anila turned around quickly, scaring Yogi. "Yeah!" she smiled, taking off her jacket and putting it on a tree branch, which Yogi stayed. Taking off her jacket revealed her scratched up shoulder, since Yogi has manded there so many times without her leather jacket on. "So what are we doing again?" she smiled, putting her hat on straight.

"Just some games really. We're combat training against Ren, Lilith, and Thaila. Whom we'll beat easily." she winked.

Ho walked up to Anila. He was wearing bright orange pants and a tiedyed t-shirt. He raised his palm and a miniature firestorm rippled across it.

"Hey, Ho!" Kun greeted her friend warmly. "Haven't seen you around in a while! Would you like to join us? Feel free to pick whichever team. It's either Me, Tobias, and Anila or Ren, Lilith,and Thaila." she said Ren's name bitterly and pointedly ignored her bestfriend.

"I'll join you, Tobias and Anila." Ho said, walking over and extinguishing the firestorm. "What are the rules?" He asked, wondering how Gods and Minor Gods could "practice" without getting killed.

"No killing or giving major injuries." Kun replied with a grin.

Once Tobias saw the Fire God, his eyes widened. "Uh...hey, Ho." he mumbled.

Hurt flashed in Ren's dark eyes, and he turned his face away from the other group. So much for hating bullying, he thought bitterly, stuffing his hands into the pocket of his sweatshirt. Ren glanced at Lilith and sighed, rubbing at his eyes before finally saying, "We're out numbered by one, but at least water conquers fire." He gave a half-hearted smile, trying to stamp down his anger, hurt, and annoyance. But like the ocean, he was hard to control or contain, and unfortunately so were his emotions.

"So, you guys ready to start?" Ho asked. He twirled his finger and a column of blue flame swirled in the air around him. When they started he would use it.
