WCF Member(s) of the Month!

First topic message reminder :

Hi! I got an idea!!! What if we had a WCF Member(s) of the Month! Every month an admin chooses members from the site to be voted as the MOTM!!! Members from the site vote, except for the selected members. The cat(s) with the highest amount if votes become the Member(s) of the Month! Anyone like this idea?

I got this idea from the, "Cat of the Month!" At the side of the page, and another website, and I have their permission.

I like the ideas of WP and AP, and chat mod for a period of time. You could also have a temporary custom name color, or somehow have a note on your profile that says you've been Member of the Month before.

Like a special badge :O

If the badge idea is accepted, then what if each badge was different for every month; I don't mean a different design, I mean what if it was just the same badge every month but it says "Month Year" (ex. August 2012) on it, so it displays when you were WOTM?

Also, what if you could be it more than once, just not two months in a row? :O

Yeah, like there could be a different badge, maybe a snowflake, for december, a leaf for august, etc.

Different badges for each month may be confusing and also might complicate things in the future.

What if you were MOTM for three months in a row, you get a bonus number of WP?

What if the color was for that month's stone? Your birthstone is based on the month you were born in, right? :O

Like February would be Amethyst, September, Sapphire, and so on. That way you could know when you won it! Maybe there could also be an Special stone if you won it twice!

I don't think it's a very good idea to be able to win twice in a row. It'd be discouraging for others.

I think the badges should be as simple as possible. There should be a way to distinguish the months, but I don't think everyone has the birthstones memorized. A key/legend wouldn't be very efficient.

I only Know February and September, but if their was a chart I would remember.

Former MOTM means you've been a MOTM before, but you're not anymore And Cheese, look in the spoiler in the topic post. That's where the list of gemstones are.

Thanks! Maybe there could be a bonus award of WP to a member if they win it twice. I think people should vote for who they want to be MOTM, And they can't vote for themselves.

I don't understand why you'd need a badge for that though. The badge you won for the month you were MOTM should be permanent so people know which month you were MOTM for. A badge for just getting the award would be kind of unnecessary, too o.O
And @Sunbeam, she has already put your idea in the master post It also says that members will vote, and I don't think people would vote for themselves x)

Ah, well it would be cool to keep track of which month you've won. I was hoping we wouldn't do the exact same thing as the other site.

Maybe to be a canadit for MOTM You would have to have At least 200 posts, or something.

I think that wouldn't be fair. There are plenty of awesome members who just don't post as much. Although I think qualifying members should be able to Private Message, because I always think of having your PM box unlocked as sort of transitioning into a more experienced member.

Maybe they have to ask to enter, so that they dont enter people who haven't posted in a while.

To me, that makes it a little more complicated. I would have to find TWELVE other stones >.> And December's main birth stone is the Blue Zicron X3

If you go on google and search it up it tells you what is each month's birthstone...
