Prolouge

Lighting was just half a week old when the unthinkable changed her life forever.

Only moments ago the air was calm and filled with the soft loving barks of lightning's mom Leaf. Lightning curled next to her mothers warm belly. Her eyes still had not opened but she could hear now. A stick cracked somewhere and then the terrified scream of her mom rang out. There was a slight slicing noice and lighting was grabbed tightly in the jaws of an animal. She whimpered trying to escaped the creatures grasp but it just bit harder.


For what seemed like moons the creature carried Lighting tightly in it's sharp teeth. Its cold body shived as it shook her. The creature dropped her and burried her under some of the snow that had fallen.

(Am i to die now? ) lighting asked her self cold and alone. Then all of a sudden something grabbed her gently. Lightning reconized the scent as a male dog but did not know who it was. As the dog gentley picked her by her scruff Lighting cried softly. "help." she passed out because of the freezing leaf-bare colds winds.


Lighting awoke in a stone den covered with leaves and bracken protecting the entrance. She relized her eyes had opened but did not care. Instead she looked around and saw a firey orange dog with a ring in his ear sleeping soundly beside a small pile of mice.

The dog awoke and yawned. He turned and looked at Lightning with shock. "Your wake" he said sleepily. The dog shook his head. Lighting stared up at him.

"Whats your name?" he asked.

"L...Lightning" replied lighting stuttering scaredly.


"Hi lighting i'm Blaze" he barked happily. "Welcome to your new home!"




Chapter 1 ~ Stand by civillain


It has been a little over a year since that fateful night. The only thing I can remember about my mother was her dying screams. She had died a cold death at the claws of a large beast. It may sound weird but thats my happiest memory too. Cause I wouldn't have met Blaze if it wasn't for that cold creature.

"Hurry up lighting!" Blaze called impateintly. He bounced like he was a pup again.

Lighting shook her head waving away her thoughts. "Fine!" she said walking slowly to the cave entrance.

"Whats wrong" blaze asked cocking his head. "don't ya wanna go?" he asked.


"Yes blaze but you ruined my thoughts!" Lighting sighed and walked quicker. "So where are we going then?" she asked yawning.


"To see mint!" he replied with an air of pride.


"And who's mint?" lighting yawned.

"Grrr...you ruined my moment!" he said stoping and standing on two legs. Blazes pointed a single claw at lighting whining like a pup.


Lighting just kept walking ignoring Blaze and his idioticness.


"Well mint's my friend!" blaze barked at her as he broke into a run. "were almost there anyway" he said pointing his tail to two hollow logs and a cave that looked like it had been dug out by a very clumsy fox.


"Thats mints place?" Lighting asked staring at the lopsided entrace.

"Yup!" he said. "Hey mint come up here you lazy furball!" called Blaze.

"Speak for your self!" called a light voice. A light blue dog appeard. She had purple splashs of color on her and she looked very tired.

"What are you doing up this early?" the blue dog asked.

"Hey mint i brought Lighting like i said!" Blaze barked.

"Oh lighting right?" Mint asked. "Nice to meet you Lighting. i'm mint"

Lighting just stood there.

"Say hi Lighting. don't act shy!" Blaze said jumping off a large rock.

"Hey" lighting said to mint. She wasn't good around new people.

"Come in!" Mint offered.

"Sure but first ill get us something to eat" blaze said then dashed off.

"Guess its me and you then" Mint said. She stood up on two legs and leaned against the side of the den entrance lazily. There was a sudden puff of dust and that side of the tunnel collasped in on itself.

"Ugh! i need to build it again!" Mint complained.

The two dogs sat there waitning for Blaze. He returned and dropped the rabbit he was holding.

"Ok who did this!" he snapped.

Mint pointed at lighting and lighting pointed at mint. Mint stood on two feet again.


"Ok lighting this is where you come in!" Mint said point at her with her paw acting as if it were a gun. "Stand by civillian to take the blame!" Mint said aiming her paw at lighting. "Steady...steady...FIRE!" Mint made a exploding noise then said "BAM! Your fault! BAM! your fault! BAM! your fault!"


Lighting stared at mint then looked over at Blaze. Blaze had fallen down laughing. He tried to talk but everytime he did he would laugh again.

"idiots..." Lighting sighed as she picked up the rabbit.
