- Prologue:
- Prologue:
It was in the middle of Leaf-Bare. The night was cold, and the cats of ShadowClan huddled together inside of their dens to keep each other warm. As most cats knew, Leaf-Bare was the cruelest season for all four Clans. It was the season when the prey almost completely stopped running, and the water froze over. It was also the season where Greencough and illness was the most common, and any Clan could be vulnerable to an attack.
Like tonight.
---------------------------
Darkstar shifted uncomfortably inside of her den. Also inside with her, was the ShadowClan deputy Ravenfeather, Medicine Cat Snowfern, and two of her most loyal warriors, Lionclaw and Mudheart. "I'm sorry I must wake you all up from your sleep and bring you into my den," Darkstar began, her voice stuttering from the cold air, "but this meeting is important. I sure you all recall the Gathering last night, yes?" Darkstar asked her four Clanmates.
"I do," Ravenfeather quietly answered in reply, his tail twitching.
"So do I." Snowfern calmly replied.
"And you two?" Darkstar turned her gaze towards Lionclaw and Mudheart, the two brothers fur brushing to keep each other warm.
"Yes, Darkstar. We do." Lionclaw answered for both him and his brother.
"Then good. That just saves me the time of explaining what happened. Now as you all know, Lightstar, the most recent leader of ThunderClan accused ShadowClan of stealing ThunderClan prey. She also said that if her warriors caught the scent of ShadowClan on her territory again, that she would launch an attack party onto our camp. So I've brought you here too-" Darkstar's urgent mew was cut off by Ravenfeather jumping to his paws, claws unsheathed.
"Those ThunderClan fox-hearts! We never stole any of their crow-food prey!" He hissed, flexing his claws.
"Ravenfeather!" Darkstar growled. "This is no time for that! For all we know, some loner or rogue must have caught some ShadowClan scent on his pelt, and wandered into ThunderClan territory and was probably driven out and mistaken for a ShadowClan warrior." Darkstar implied. "So please keep your claws sheathed, if you don't mind." She growled again.
Ravenfeather growled, then sat back down and sheathed his claws in slight anger. "Fine..." he muttered, annoyed.
"Now as I was saying..." Darkstar continued from where she was cut off. "... We could expect an attack from ThunderClan or even RiverClan at any given moment. Otterstar seemed a little suspicious after hearing Lightstar's false claims, too." Darkstar sighed, her tail-tip twitching. "So we must be prepared. That is why I have called you here, just keep alert for any signs of a possible-" She was cut off by the sound of leaves rustling in nearby undergrowth.
"What in the name of StarClan could that be?" Snowfern wondered, turning her attention to where she expected the rustling to come from.
And for a short while, there was silence. Until a yowl erupted from the undergrowth outside of Darkstar's den. "ThunderClan, attack!" Lightstar, the ThunderClan leader yowled. Soon, ThunderClan warriors exploded into the camp, waking the warriors of ShadowClan up.
Lionclaw's eyes grew wide. "The nursery! Birdsong's in the nursery! What if ThunderClan warriors get into the nursery?" Lionclaw panicked, bursting out of Darkstar's den to where the nursery of ShadowClan was located. Snowfern hurriedly followed after him. Tonight was the night when Birdsong's kits were expected to arrive. Of course Lionclaw wouldn't leave his mate open to attack.
Darkstar, Ravenfeather and Mudheart quickly left Darkstar's den. The camp was full of warriors tussling with warriors fighting to protect their own Clans.
"Darkstar!" Lightstar yowled, pouncing onto Darkstar herself. "We caught your warriors scent over our borders again!" She hissed. "I warned you of what would happen, but obviously it seems you didn't listen!" Lightstar hissed again, snapping at Darkstar's neck.
Darkstar hissed with alarm and kicked Lightstar off. "A true warrior does not kill to win his or her battles!" Darkstar hissed as Lightstar pounced again, and the two leaders continued to wrestle with each other.
Half way through their tussle, a yowl erupted from the Nursery, followed by frantic meows from Snowfern. "The kits are coming! The kits are coming!" Snowfern yowled in a panicky tone.
Darkstar slashed Lightstar's face with her claws before leaving the ThunderClan leader to dash to the nursery. "What? Now?" Darkstar asked.
"Yes, now!" Snowfern replied, panicking.
Darkstar had been so preoccupied with hurrying to the nursery, she didn't even notice that Lightstar had retreated back to ThunderClan's camp with the ThunderClan warriors she had brought.
Snowfern hurried inside the nursery, followed by Darkstar and Mudheart whom had heard Snowfern's urgent yowl.
It was indeed true. Birdsong was panting with shock as she felt her kits soon to enter life. "It'll be OK, Birdsong." Snowfern encouragingly, told the young Queen. "Here, chew onto this once the pain comes." Snowfern said, placing a stick next to Birdsong's cheek from the nursery walls.
Birdsong nodded and picked up the stick in her mouth. She immediately bit down on it, making a 'CRUNCH' sort of noise.
"The first ones coming." Snowfern mewed.
Birdsong groaned in pain as the first kit slithered next to Birdsong's belly. Snowfern soon picked the kit up and placed it by Darkstar's paws. "Lick it. Get the blood flowing." Snowfern told Darkstar, soon returning to Birdsong's side.
Darkstar nodded and licked the kit frantically to get the blood flowing. She let out a sigh of relief as the young kit let out a small mew, but she continued to lick the kit unless the blood stopped flowing.
Birdsong let out another loud groan of pain as she bit down on the stick. "Here comes the second one." Snowfern informed.
Birdsong groaned loudly again as the second kit arrived. Snowfern picked the young kit up and placed it by Mudheart's paw. "Same with you. Lick the kit to get the blood flowing."
Mudheart nodded and licked the kit the same way Darkstar had done with the last one.
Birdsong let out a sigh of relief as the pain stopped, and both Darkstar and Mudheart dropped the kits by the side of her belly.
Lionclaw purred at his mate, and his kits. "What should we call them, Birdsong?" Lionclaw asked, not taking his glowing amber eyes off his two kits.
The gray queen purred and pointed her small pink nose at the barn-owl coloured kit. "This ones a tom... and his pelt reminds me of an owl... we'll name him... Owlkit." Birdsong purred in satisfaction.
Lionclaw nodded. "That's a lovely name, and for his sister this dark gray tabby she-cat..." Lionclaw pointed with his nose at the she-cat. "... How about Twilightkit?" Lionclaw suggested.
Birdsong purred, "That's a lovely name." She smiled.
Darkstar meowed with satisfaction. "Allow me to welcome ShadowClan's two newest members: Owlkit and Twilightkit!" She announced with pride for the two newest and youngest additions to the Clan.
---------------------------------
And so begins, the tale of the Stars at Twilight.
End of Prologue.

- Chapter 1:
- Chapter 1
It had been several moons since the battle against ThunderClan, and the birth of the two littermates, Owlkit and Twilightkit. Owlkit was the older sibling, a tom with the rare pelt of a barn owl's. Then there was Twilightkit, the younger she-cat sibling who had a dark gray pelt with darker gray tabby stripes.
The Clan had welcome the two kits into ShadowClan with open hearts and cheers. Even Ravenfeather, as grouchy as he was, commented that they would grow up to be great ShadowClan warriors.
Now the Clans flourished in prey and delight as Green-Leaf had entered the Lake. Prey run freely, and the beauty of the Lake had been restored from what used to be an icy frosted lake.
-----------------------------------
Owlkit yawned as he woke up by his mothers belly. His younger sister, Twilightkit was still sleeping soundly. Best not disturb her, she's probably having a dream of chasing a mouse or something. Owlkit thought to himself when he saw Twilightkit's legs twitching.
"Up so early, Owlkit?" Owlkit jumped slightly when he heard another cat speaking to him.
He saw that Tealgaze, a Queen of the nursery was speaking to him. She was the most recent Queen added to ShadowClan's nursery, and had already kitted. Sadly, it was only one: Nightkit. Even though he was the only kit of her litter, both Tealgaze and Nightkit's father, Blackstep loved him to bits.
Owlkit shook his head, clearing his mind of his sudden thoughts. "Er... yes, Tealgaze. I guess I went to sleep a little too early last night." Owlkit laughed, his ears flicking. I wouldn't have gone to sleep so early if Twilightkit hadn't gotten us in trouble for persuading me to sneak out of camp with her! Owlkit growled to himself in annoyance.
Tealgaze purred with amusement. "I see what you mean." She mewed in reply. She then blinked in surprise. "Oh, yes Owlkit! I almost forgot. Isn't tomorrow yours and Twilightkit's Apprentice Ceremony?" She asked, curiosity in her meow.
Owlkit squeaked with surprise. "T-tomorrow?" Owlkit stuttered.
"Why, yes! You're both six moons old, after all." Tealgaze meowed. "I just thought I'd let you know. Be sure to tell your sister once she wakes up," Tealgaze directed her gaze towards the still-sleeping Twilightkit. "She'll most definitely be surprised." Tealgaze purred.
Owlkit was still blinking in surprise. Tomorrow? It's just... happened so quickly... but it only means one step closer to becoming a warrior! Owlkit thought, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction at the thought.
"Well, anyway's..." Tealgaze's mew interrupted his thoughts. "... I'm going to go back to sleep. Nightkit is a pawful, you know. I'll need to have the energy to keep an eye over him later." She purred, laying her head back down and slowly closing her eyes.
However, unlike Tealgaze, Owlkit still had as much energy as ever. Ignoring the fact that Twilightkit was still asleep, he started prodding her stomach with his light gentle white paw. "Twilightkit! Wake up!" Owlkit urgently mewed to his little sister.
"Mrrow... wha-what?" Twilightkit groggily mewed, half-way opening her gentle blue eyes.
"I said wake up!" Owlkit kept prodding her with his paw.
"All right! All right! I'm awake!" Twilightkit mewed, annoyance in her tone. "What is it?" She asked, slowly getting to her paws. "I want to have a reason for you waking me up from a good dream."
"Tomorrow we're going to become apprentices!" Owlkit announced, happily.
Twilightkit looked at her brother, wide-eyed. "What? really?" She sounded dumb-founded.
"Yes, really!" Owlkit purred.
"Wow..." Twilightkit was still wide-eyed.
"I know, right!" Owlkit was now bouncing around happily. He almost jumped onto his sister's tail because of it. "Tomorrow we enter the first stage of becoming true warriors of ShadowClan..." Owlkit began, staring out of the nursery entrance and into the main ShadowClan camp. "... It's going to be great!" Owlkit announced.

- Chapter 2:
- Chapter 2
Twilightkit groggily raised her head from her nest. After what Owlkit had told her yesterday, she could hardly wait for this day. She was even squirming and toss-and-turning in the night with joy, that both her mother Birdsong, and her brother Owlkit had to tell her to stop it.
It wasn't like she could help it. Today she was going to become an apprentice of ShadowClan! One pawstep closer to becoming a warrior! Twilightkit's eyes even gleamed at the thought.
"You're finally awake." Mewed a voice next to her. She looked up and saw her brother looking down at her. "You sleep like the prey during Leaf-Bare!" He teased, flicking one of Twilightkit's ears with his paw.
"Oh yeah? Well you wake up as early as the bird at dawn! Around the time when hardly anybody is awake!" She teased back, her whiskers twitching.
"All right little ones. That's enough. You want to look your best for your apprentice ceremonies, don't you?" Mewed their mother, Birdsong who had been awake the whole time.
"Yes!" The two littermates squeaked, immediately stopping the teasing.
"Good. Well then, I may as well groom you." Birdsong purred, picking up Twilightkit by the scruff and Birdsong gently started licking Twilightkit's kit-soft fur.
Owlkit just let out a 'Mrrow' of laughter at the sight. Twilightkit didn't even bother to squirm however, she just let herself be groomed until Birdsong let her go and then picked up Owlkit by the scruff and repeated the process.
"Let all cats old enough to stalk their own prey, join here beneath the Highledge for a Clan meeting!" Yowled a familiar voice.
"Oh, that sounds like Darkstar. You two best run along. I'll be right behind you." Birdsong soothed, and let go of Owlkit as well.
Out of the entranceway to the nursery, Twilightkit saw warriors gathering around the Highledge, all eyes gazing up at ShadowClan's leader, Darkstar, and the ShadowClan deputy, Ravenfeather perched on one of the lower rocks of the Highledge whilst Darkstar sat at the top of all the rocks.
Tealgaze yawned and got up from her nest, her son, Nightkit doing the same thing before he scampered over to join his two friends, Owlkit and Twilightkit. "This is your apprentice ceremony, right?" Nightkit asked, an excited expression on his face.
"Yes, yes it is." Tealgaze answered for the two of them.
"No fair!" Nightkit squeaked. "I wanna become an apprentice, too! Owlkit and Twilightkit are only two moons older than me!" He squeaked again.
"Don't worry, you'll become an apprentice eventually." Twilightkit encouraged the young black tom.
"Not soon enough..." Nightkit groaned.
"Shh!" Birdsong told the the three kits, and they fell silent. "Darkstar's speaking." She quietly informed, before turning her gaze back out of the nursery entrance to where Darkstar was perched.
"Fellow ShadowClan warriors. It is my honour to announce the welcoming of two new apprentices into our ranks. Two kits that were born after a quick battle with ThunderClan, several moons ago in the time of Leaf-Bare." Darkstar stared down at her paws before looking back up and continuing. "But, now onto the real matter at paw. Twilightkit? Owlkit? Wherever you two are, please step forward." Darkstar calmly implied.
The two littermates gulping, both Twilightkit and Owlkit shakily stepped out of the nursery, Birdsong nudging them along with a gaze of pure encouragement.
Soon, the two littermates were standing near the face of the Highledge, before Darkstar leaped down to greet the two of them.
"Owlkit." Darkstar began. "From this day forth until you earn your warrior name, you will be now known as Owlpaw. Autumnfall, will be your mentor." Darkstar announced, before a dappled tortoiseshell she-cat called up from the crowd. Twilightkit guessed that must be Autumnfall.
"I'll do my best, Darkstar." Autumnfall implied as she walked over out of the crowd of cats to meet Owlpaw.
"Twilightkit," Began Darkstar yet again. "From this day forth until you earn your full name, you will now be known as Twilightpaw. Snowfern, our medicine cat will be your mentor." Darkstar nodded towards the pretty pure-white Medicine Cat of ShadowClan.
"Wait... what?!" Twilightpaw growled. "A medicine cat? But... I'm meant to be a warrior!" She complained, dumbfounded.
Snowfern padded up to the young she-cat and sighed. "Don't worry, I'll explain it all to you in due time." Snowfern explained.
Darkstar nodded at Snowfern and then at Autumnfall. "So it is settled. Let us welcome, Twilightpaw and Owlpaw as full apprentices into ShadowClan!" Darkstar announced, followed by cheers from the Clan.
"Owlpaw! Twilightpaw! Owlpaw! Twilightpaw!" The Clan cheered.
Twilightpaw was still dumbfounded, but didn't hesitate once Snowfern directed for Twilightpaw to follow her into the Medicine Cats den. But... I was meant to be... Twilightpaw shook her head of the thought and, with her tail drooped, followed Snowfern into the Medicine Cats den.

- Chapter 3:
- After Twilightkit and Owlkit had become apprentices, now bearing the names Twilightpaw and Owlpaw, Nightkit was now a lone kit in the ShadowClan nursery, with only his mother Tealgaze to be his company.
"Tealgaze!" Whined Nightkit.
"What is it, Nightkit?" Murmured his mother, who looked a little annoyed.
"Can I go out and play with Twilightpaw and Owlpaw?" He asked, innocently.
Tealgaze shook her gentle gray tabby head. "Twilightpaw is busy with her medicine cat apprenticeship with Snowfern and Owlpaw is out collecting new moss for the elders. And when he gets back I think Autumnfall is taking him out for a training session." She gently told her son.
"It's not fair!" Nightkit squeaked, sulkily. "They're only two moons older then me!" Nightkit complained, burrowing his tiny claws into the earth of the nursery. "I wanna' become an apprentice!" He whined.
"It's OK, little Nightkit." His mother purred, stroking his jet-black pelt with her tail. "Sooner or later, Darkstar will most certainly make you an apprentice. And then you can train with Owlpaw and some of the other apprentices in ShadowClan." Tealgaze soothed her son.
Nightkit mumbled under his breath but then sighed. "Will that include Twilightpaw, too?" He asked.
"No, Nightkit. Twilightpaw is a medicine cat apprentice. A medicine cat apprentice is different then a cat training to become a warrior of his or her Clan. They help serve their Clan by speaking with our warrior ancestors who have resided to StarClan, and they heal their Clanmates with many exotic herbs. It is a big duty, as you might imagine." Tealgaze informed her son, gently.
"Oh..." Nightkit sighed, gloomy-like. "But at least I'll get to train with Owlpaw!" He squeaked. "He showed me the hunting crouch the other day! He said that Autumnfall was a great hunter, too." He mewed, trying to remember the move Owlpaw had taught him.
"That's very nice, Nightkit!" Tealgaze purred, stroking her son with her tail again. "You'll grow up to be a great warrior of ShadowClan, I can easily see it with the determination shining in your pale amber eyes." She purred, proudly.
"Yeah! I'll most certainly make ShadowClan proud that I'm in their ranks! I'll make the other Clan shake to their flea-bitten pelts! Especially those mangy ThunderClan cats..." he grumbled.
Tealgaze purred again. "I think its time you get some rest." She suggested.
"But why?" Nightkit whined. "I'm still full of energy!" he squeaked.
Tealgaze sighed. "I only want to make sure that you get plenty of rest. Remember, Birdsong hasn't moved back to the warriors den yet. You should be glad that she hasn't complained in the past few days of you always squeaking and mewing." Tealgaze insisted.
Nightkit didn't reply, only sighed and padded up to his mothers belly and he soon curled up next to her, thankful for her warm gray tabby fur.
The day I become a warrior, is the day that ShadowClan will become great! Greater than any of the other Clans out there! It was Nightkit's last thought before he drifted into sleep.

I don't know how ShadowClan's meeting process speech goes, so there. That's the best your gonna get. Hehe.
Yay, Chapter 2's finished! That's some of my worries for updating gone.

End of Chapter 2
I don't know how ShadowClan's meeting process speech goes, so there. That's the best your gonna get. Hehe.
Yay, Chapter 2's finished! That's some of my worries for updating gone.

This is inspiring to make up a bunch of warriors and a clan to make a story of, should I? BTW, I think I will follow Twilightkit as my favorite. I like her personallity a bit better! :33

Whoops, update time. Just got back from holiday, so why not?
