To Kill a Dragon ((RPG))

As the King of Regum has wrote:From this day forth, any team who can slay the beast known as Valstrath and bring to me the monster's head shall receive the reward of a quarter of my kingdom to share among themselves and ten-thousand gold pieces each. They shall be known a hero among the people and be given houses for each contributing slayer to overlook their portion of the kingdom. This I say as the King of Regum, that the brave come forward and take this chance at victory.
﴾AN INTERESTING ENCOUNTER﴿
- An Interesting Encounter:
- You walk through the center of the largest city in Regum. Whether you've been here before or not, well, that's your business. Either way, you make your way into the marketplace, the colors of your surroundings making the rest of the world appear dull. You stop by a fruit stand, looking at the various apples, oranges, and bananas sitting there and start to pull out however many coins you have. Before you even have the chance to ask for whatever fruits you'd like, the elderly lady behind the stand goes into a panic. She pushes you away from her fruits and begins to straighten the food in the stand. You ask her why she did such a thing, only to get pushed away from the stand once more by the elder into the middle of the pathway through the marketplace, only to find yourself ran into by a horse. You fall to the ground with a thud as it tramples on over you, followed shortly by a ginger-haired male. Sunlight glinted from the man's armor as he offered his hand to help you up.
"Sorry about that, I'm not a very good knight, and I'm still trying to train him," the man says to you. You attempt to speak, but he cut you off. "Oh, where are my manners? I am Prince Verilee, son of King Verilee. I would hope that you forgive me and my steed, Leonard."
You were shocked. Prince? You asked him to repeat his last name once more, and it was certain. This man was the rightful heir to the Regum throne. When you snapped back to reality, the prince was waving a hand in front of your face.
"Hello? Are you there?" You nodded. "Good. Well, I really have to catch up to Leonard. I hope we meet again, stranger!"
And just like that, the prince dashed off. You stood there for a good few minutes before noticing that the horse, in it's run, left a trail of papers. You picked one up and began reading:WANTED
Valstrath the Destroyer
﴾WORLD MAP﴿
- Map:
- Safe Zones:
- The Capitol of Regum:
- The Capitol of Regum is a fairly large city surrounded by a river. It is home to the royal family and is the center of all festivities. It will be the starting point of your adventures.
- The Village of Myrrka:
- The village of Myrrka is a small town with an inn. Its occupants are a variety of races, most without magic. They're usually very friendly with the exception of the occasional grumpy old man.
Caution Zones:- The Burnt Village:
- The burnt village sits not that far outside of the Capitol. It was the most recent attack by Valstrath, and it was soon after inhabited by minor monsters of which prefer heated remains (imps, minor flame elementals, etc.).
- Witch Hut:
- The witch's hut is a creaky, old wooden hut with a "young, pale lady with crystal blue eyes. It's said that she walked out of Crystal Lake one day and inhabited her hut with the intention of attacking any who venture near her hut" (quoted directly from Hank). When you enter the village, you may meet Hank, a middle-aged male who will offer you a chance at the quest to defeat the witch. From this, you will get a free night's stay at the inn, as well as whatever the witch may have in her hut. Not as dangerous as some other enemies, the witch is dependent on potions and mostly defense. That makes her easier to defeat.
- A Troll's Wrath:
- Just a simple nickname for a gaping ravine given by the townspeople of Myrrka, a Troll's Wrath is said to be made by an angry troll smashing his club to the ground, splitting it open. The bridge built to cross it is incredibly old and rickety with some missing planks. If you fall into one of those, there's little chance of survival.
Danger Zones:- The Goblin Camp:
- The goblin camp is a stationary living place for a tribe of goblins. They're hostile and often patrol the roads around their camp, both the faded path and the road directly outside of their camp entrance. If you're traveling on either road, be warned. It's more than likely that you'll run into a few goblins on the way.
- Grijowth Woods:
- Pronounced as "Growth Woods," the Grijowth Woods is an overgrown city. The first city in the region to ever be attacked by a dragon, it's ruins have grown over and been infested by many, many wicked creatures. One man who managed to escape the forest claimed to have been put face-to-face with three giant spiders, furry and a sickly poison green.
Beware All Ye Who Enter:- Valstrath's Den:
- This is your main goal and the most dangerous place on the map. At any moment when climbing the stairs carved into the mountains, the beast herself could easily leave her den and turn the hiker into ashes. Valstrath the Destroyer maintains a home here in the darkness of a mountain cave, debating her next attack.
Other:- Crystal Lake:
- A large lake with clear waters, even in its deepest parts. The water appears with a beautiful blue tint and is said to be formed by a god to give the world's inhabitants a look at purity. When a witch just walked out of the lake one day, the people grew worried that the lake was being polluted by the population's impurity and thus placed restrictions on entering its waters. But is that really what caused the witch to step out of its waters? Who knows...

- Read Me:
- 1. Only one person per team may have healing powers
2. Please do not duplicate magic (Exceptions being if the two are twins; if they're just siblings, please at least put some significant difference between the two's magic)
3. Only one high-ranked members per person (First come, first serve)
4. There's a maximum of three characters
5. Keep your posts a minimum of two lines long
6. Follow all site rules
7. Side-plots are allowed, but don't go overboard. Remember, you're still trying to take out a dragon!
8. Please keep all characters human-like. Don't make a full-blown dragon or something like that, kay? Kay :DD- I will make a character sheet for Valstrath. This is the only exception since this is the MAIN antagonist. (You may come across a few monsters when travelling such as imps, trolls, etc.)

Weapon: He's useless with a weapon, but carries around various dolls, relatively similar to voodoo dolls. The dolls are used for his ghosts to possess, but there's one that's always out and possessed by a ghost. The doll ((seen in picture below)) has a candle stick on its head and is referred to as Cardian.

Appearance: Theo prefers keeping his face hidden, only leaving it visible where his mask does not cover. His head is covered by the hood of his black cloak, concealing nearly everything the mask does not. His mask, thought to be made from a real skull, has magical properties, being able to turn his left eye a bright red and makes both seem to glow. Of the skin that does show on his cloaked body, it appears to have a fading tan, evident that it had been out in the sun at one point, clearly out of character for the male.- Theo:
Backstory: Theo prefers not to talk about his backstory, afraid of judgment from his peers. The only thing he shares is that he was born to a family that was ashamed of his powers. When he had learned to control them, his parents had begun training him with various weapons, none of which he really got the hang of. From there, he mentions that he saw one of the wanted flyers for the mighty dragon and left his home to chase after it.

Team Rank: Main antagonist
Appearance: Valstrath is a large dragoness with spiky, ruby red scales. Her eyes glow a bright orange to match her flames, and her mouth is lined with sharp, pearly while teeth. Her wings are proportionate to her own body size, spanning out many, many meters that cast a shadow anywhere. She wears a loose collar around her neck, marking her different from most other dragons.
Personality: Once a kind, more defensive dragon, Valstrath has been hit with grief. This changed her, twisting her into wickedness. She toasts any human she comes across, going so far as to attack their societies. Even to her own blood, she is sour. With a sharp tongue, she can turn anything said against the other person without much thought. She's merciless, being able to charge blindly into an innocent village and burn it ruthlessly to the ground. Any mention of her past and she'd snap on anyone around her.- Valstrath:
Other: Valstrath is weak to cold temperatures and isn't fond of humans; she'll only be used when a group nears the cave.

- Ranks:
- Team Leader: The team leader is the one person responsible for everything that happens to the team. From making major decisions to resolving tensions, this person has everything on their hands. Any deaths that happen as long as they're leader are blamed on them. However, since they are the leader, they get to decide who gets the first pick of the rewards, be it themselves or other contributing members.
Medic: The medic is the most knowledgeable of the arts of herbs and/or healing magic. Like the team leader, there is only one per team, making them very valuable. While they may also have the ability to fight, the medic is further specialized in the responsibility of keeping their other teammates standing, healthy and alive.
Members: While not holding a necessarily special title, members are extremely important for each team. They fight for and defend one another, working together to get the job done. Each with a different ability allows for a variety of different teamwork tactics. They participate in team decisions and keep one another well and alive.
Additional Characters:
Main Antagonist: The main antagonist will be played by me, Roguestar. This character is the one that everyone is trying to defeat, and as such will be increasingly difficult. For this roleplay, the main antagonist is none other than Valstrath.
NPCs: Any major NPCs will be played by me, also, as I feel the need to bring them in for whatever purpose they will serve, but minors will not be and others can bring them into the game for something or another. They will be added to the roster as they are introduced in the roleplay.

They often gleam in the dark, and flash when she uses her abilities. Appearance: She's on the chubby side, with pale skin and curly blond hair she keeps done up in a bun and pinned to her head. She wears all white with blue accents, including a fold of her cloak to cover her hair. She has a pearl bracelet carved with healing runes.
Personality: She's a sweetheart, her main joys coming from helping others. She doesn't support killing in any form, but the dragon's destruction has grown too much for her to turn a blind eye to. She can't fight much on her own, so she chooses to join a team and keep them alive. She sings under her breath all the time in the same language she casts her spells in.

Magic: Super speed. This also enhances her agility, reflexes, and of course, speed. It is currently unknown how fast she can move, but it's definitely not slow. Even though this isn't magic, she is built stronger than regular humans. As a metahuman, her bone structure was altered. They were made lighter, but more durable, so she packs a stronger punch, and is enabled to move even faster.
Weapon: She uses enchanted twin pistols, which will automatically refill with bullets after a certain amount of charging. These twin pistols can also change into gauntlets with a blade attached, twin katanas, twin sai, a sniper, and a spear. She's also got a hoverboard.

Appearance: Yuuki has spiky brown hair tied up in a ponytail, with bangs hanging down, and dark gray eyes. She has a lithe and lean lightly tanned figure, and dresses in thin silver lightweight armor with black clothing underneath, silver lightweight metal boots, armguards, gauntlets, and shinguards. She has a utility belt around her waist complete with her pistols dangling from each side, a grappling hook, a walkie-talkie, a few mini-grenades, smoke bombs, and an earpiece for communicating, which she usually wears, along with her potions that she stores in another pocket on her upper right thigh. Without her armor, she usually wears a black tank top, dark silver arm-guards, fingerless black gloves, and black pants and sandals.- Spoiler:

Race: ((Any humanoid that can speak English)) "Fallen" Archangel
Age: Exact age is unknown, he appears to be around 24 but seems to have first-hand knowledge of events from several thousand years into the past; claims to have spent at least a few centuries in intermittent states of hibernation.
Magic: ((Optional; if none, put "N/A")) Can fire off a variety of different "projectiles" of light with many different offensive functions, however when he is hiding his wings the power is greatly diminished. Also has some knowledge of fire magic. As for non-combative magic, Yuric can fly (even when his wings aren't out, it's just not as fast as with his wings), he can illuminate areas, and just for being a high ranking angel he is quicker to recover from injury than humans, though his healing ability has slowed over the ages. And if he truly puts effort in Yuric can cleanse a small area of all dark magic, curses, spirits, and other such darkness, but such a feat is extremely draining in his current state.
Weapon: ((Optional; if none, put "N/A")) A magic rapier, though its magic is only that it won't break or dull. Also when his angelic powers are active Yuric can use his wings as shields, since each feather is laced with pure light magic.

Appearance: Usually appears to be an ordinary, if somewhat pale young adult with brown hair and unnaturally blue eyes. Yuric typically wears dull or neutral colors like gray in whatever fashion is most common in the era and location he is currently in. However, when Yuric reveals his angelic power his appearance changes. His outfit on its own is replaced by shining silvery light armor over white robes with purple accents, his hair becomes golden blond and his face becomes slightly more angular. And naturally his four radiant white wings manifest as well.
Personality: Yuric is generally kind, if sometimes sarcastic, and usually tries to cooperate as much as he can with the people around him at any given time. While he tries to hide his identity as an archangel, Yuric still wants to be as true to himself as possible, especially since that is what got him banished from the heavens in the first place. Cares deeply for humankind as a race and seeks to aid in guiding them on a path of glory, and while he has a clear preference for humanity Yuric is not above aiding other races be they non-human or half-human. While always friendly, Yuric tries to avoid making actual friends since unless he is killed or they gain immortality somehow, he is going to outlive those around him.
Backstory: ((Optional; if none, put "N/A")) While Yuric never gives away too many details, mainly because humans wouldn't understand the references anyway, he has spoken about parts of his past, at least in times when it is discovered that he is an archangel. Over the ages Yuric has been different from most of his kin the fact that he freely interacted with the humans and other races and even had a direct hand in how some events transpired. This meddlesome activity eventually wore thin on the patience of his superiors and Yuric was banished from the heavens about two thousand years ago. Since then he has continued to aid his beloved humans directly, often disguising himself as a human, while occasionally spending a century here and there in hibernation. Now with current events Yuric is determined to protect humanity from its new threat, however the thousands of years away from the heavens have drained him of much of his power and Yuric is no longer able to face such a dragon on his own. As such he intends to join one of the dragon hunting parties being assembled to defeat Valstrath, not personally all that interested in the reward.

You're all accepted and have been added to the roster. So that we're not waiting on Team 3 to fill up, I have checked with Moonsong. Her character, Natalie Chekhov, has been moved to Team 1. There is no team 3.
The RP may begin ((with a short post because reasons)).
Theo left the marketplace, eading towards the kingdom's gate. He was ever nervous, this have being his first time going after a dragon. Nevertheless, he had trained his magic for nearly his entire life. He thought he was ready, though. In fact, he would be leading his team. He hadn't met them but a few times beforehand, but it would be that day when they actually banded together to kill a dragon. Theo left the marketplace, eading towards the kingdom's gate. He was ever nervous, this have being his first time going after a dragon. Nevertheless, he had trained his magic for nearly his entire life. He thought he was ready, though. In fact, he would be leading his team. He hadn't met them but a few times beforehand, but it would be that day when they actually banded together to kill a dragon. Yuuki was already at the gate, tapping her foot impatiently. She was deeply honored of giving the task to help slay a dragon, and she was going to do her best. She was assigned to team 1, and had already arrived first, fingers drumming restlessly on her pistols. She spotted a figure stop at the gate, and walked over to him, raising an hand in greeting. "Hey," she said. "Are you on one of the two teams to slay the dragon?"

Yuric had signed on to the mission to slay the dragon under the name of his current alibi, the traveler Erik Bellum, a false persona that Yuric has grown fond of during the six years he's been using it. Yuric had found it best not to declare himself as an archangel because that just led to too many complications and questions and cults, so he hoped he could keep his identity secret during this venture, at least until he could build trust with the team he was on. Heading to the gates where the two separate teams were to all meet up, Erik found that he wasn't the first to arrive. "Hey there. I'm guessing you two are here for the whole dragon thing too?" Erik said with a friendly wave as he approached the two others by the gate.

Pilar walked alongside the people of the kingdom, trying to get to the gates as fast as possible. She inwardly groaned as the people walked slowly, making it hard for her to make it to the gates at such a slow pace. Soon enough, the path cleared up, making it easy to get to the gate. She noticed the small group of people, nodding in greeting to them. "Hello, is anyone here a part of team one?" she asked.

Natalia hurried through the crowds, trying her best not to push but failing miserably. Catching sight of the group, she ran to them, stopping in front of them to breathe heavily and suppress a wracking cough. "Um, hello? I'm the medic for team one, is this you guys?" She nervously twined her fingers together in front of her, nibbling on her full lower lip and waiting for a response.

Filitarn easily moved through the crowd, no one usually seemed to pay him much mind so it works well. Vaguely he wondered why he agreed to go on the dragon hunting business but maybe it will end well and he can make new...friends. Perhaps. Once finally to the gate he twitched his ears and tail slightly restlessly. So many people. Well more than two people is too many in his mind. "I assume you're all here for the...dragon hunting business..?"

Nyxias wound her way through the thick crowd, her wings tucked securely against her frame to protect them from the many other mortals that filled the city streets, and as the blonde moved closer to the gates, she noticed several people gathered at the gates and her ears pricked up. "All these people must be here for the dragon hunt." Nyxias mused, moving towards the smaller crowd, and as she approached she heard the young human speaking, she flicked her tongue lightly over the razor sharp edge of her fangs as she listened to the people chattered and waited for the leader of Team 2.

He didn't know her, nor did he want to- he could only hope that she would be on the other team. He hated dragons, excluding himself of course, that was why he had joined the mission to kill the dragon ravaging the country. Pushing off from the wall, he went to stand directly in front of Nyxias, baring his fangs.

Filitarn was moderately relaxed until one of the people seemed to want to pick a fight with another. This should be /fun/ but he should stay back for now, which is what he did. He moved back a few steps but internally readied a small spell just in case.

Nyxias raised an eyebrow, unimpressed, as the slightly younger dragon-hybrid bared his fangs and attempted to take out his sulking, petty rage on her, the foul stench of rage and gluttonous pride winding its way into her nose, making her scoff.
"Something bothering you kid? Nyxias growled deeply from her chest, squaring her broad shoulders as she leaned over the dragon-hybrid, her fangs also lengthening at the prospect of a fight. "I doubt this scrawny, pathetic excuse of a dragon could even make a fist, let alone handle himself in a fight." Nyxias thought, her plump lips twitching into a smirk as her eyes raked up and down his form, sizing him up.

Kayden snarled, letting his own fangs lengthen, all his scales on edge and his claws cutting into the palms of his hands until acidic blood spattered on the pavement with a hiss. "Yeah, as a matter of fact, and the name of it is you." She smelled of sin, the scent choking and making him rasp out a cough with added rot-breath. As she looked him up and down, he bristled, stepping forward and getting into her space as he poked a claw at her face. "What's someone like you doing in a place like this for this reason, huh?"

"But if you must know," Nyxias stressed the word 'must' in a condescending tone, loving the way she made the smaller dragons scales prickle with fury, "I was hired by Theo Razius to help hunt down Valstrath." She stated, gently batting away his accusing talon as she blinked, her pupils shrinking to small slivers as she examined the small crowd that was cautiously observing the two quarreling dragon kin, before her eyes landed on Filitarn, suppressing her amusement at the slightly anxious look on his face as she spoke, "Hey kid," she called completely brushing off the steaming dragon boy and looking directly at Filitarn, "do you know where Razius is exactly?" She questioned, curious to where the mortal was, since he had yet to make an appearance.

Erik moved over to where Pilar and Natalia were talking. "Well I don't know about the rest, but I'm here for team one as well. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." he said casually. When the one dragon hybrid began picking a fight with another, Erik watched from where he was and hoped they didn't start a fight, at least not here in the city. If two of their kind began to fight here there would likely be casualties, even with this many people here to step in, and he couldn't allow that. So as he watched things unfold between the two, Erik casually placed his hand on the hilt of his rapier, ready to jump in if the need arose.
