The Tenth Garde Empty The Tenth Garde

Post by Crimsonpaw April 2nd 2015, 21:29

I wrote this while ago and wanted to share it. This is based off the series by Pittacus Lore I Am Number Four. The books are about teens taht look like ordinary teens but are aliens sent from another planet to hide and run from other aliens that are a different kind wich are hunting them down one by one. In the books main CHaracter John discovers love , legacys, and connection to others in the garde.

Anyways this is the fanfic:

The Tenth Garde

It was just an ordinary summer day on planet Lorien. The skies were blue with almost no clouds and the sun was shining brightly. Tree branches swayed calmly in the wind. The wind was nothing more than a soft warm breeze that seemed to promise another peaceful day on the planet.
Balls were being tossed back and forth by young children happily playing with one another. Kites soared high in the sky just above the tree tops. The sound of laughter could be heard as some of the children played on the swing set. The children continued to play while grown ups worked.
As the day grew to a close dinner was prepared and served to every family member. Soon the meal was finished and the dishes were put away. The sky had changed to the colors of sunset, and yet, everything was still peaceful for that moment. Little did anybody know that the lives of everybody living on the planet were about to be changed. That is when it happened; when it was the least expected.
Huge foreign ships landed on Lorien. These ships were from another planet called Mogadore. Mogadorians unloaded from the ships. The Mogadorians were nearly twenty feet tall with very pale skin. They were dressed in all black and had pointy teeth that were razor sharp. They carried swords and other weapons, and they looked hungry for a fight. A shot was fired, and that is when the war began.
The people of Lorien formed a line of defense to attempt to win the war against the Mogadorians. People from Lorien look like normal humans, but they are not human on the inside. They have powers everybody dreams of having, in which they call legacies. However despite these powers there was still no hope of defeating the Mogadorians because they were outnumbered by a long shot. As the fight continued, it grew even more hopeless. There was nothing they could do but to retreat unless what they wanted to remain of themselves was ash.
Several lives were sacrificed for the safety of the children. There were two ships, other than the Mogadorians’ ships. Every child was boarded onto a ship that headed in the direction towards Earth, the closest planet that was suitable for life other than Mogadore. After the ships left Lorien towards Earth, nothing was ever the same.

Chapter 1

I wake up at around seven in the morning, just an hour after sunrise. I glance around the room of the only abandoned house for miles in the mountains of Spain. The house is old and slowly falling apart. It has holes in both the walls and the roof. Because of this, I can feel the cold December air blowing through, and I shiver as it blows past me.
My name is Ella. I am the last member of the ten gardes who settled here after the Mogadorians invaded my home planet, Lorien. For several years, it was believed that there were only nine of us who made it to Earth. However, just a few days ago, the others who are with me found out that I am number ten.
I just spent the past three months in an orphanage known as Santa Teresa. That is where I met my first true friend, Marina. Crayton who is my Cepan, or also recognized as my guardian, sent me into the orphanage to search for a Chest that belongs to Marina.
During the time I was there, Marina and I had drawn close to one another. For the first time in my lifetime, I had found a friend, a true friend. We walked to our classes together and sat beside each other during meal times. However, after a while, Marina stopped walking to school with me. I know now that it was for my own protection, for she did not know that I too was from planet Lorien. Despite this, we remained close.
After about a month of me being at the orphanage, Marina asked me something. She asked me if I could help her search for the Chest, in which I had already been looking for since my arrival. I was surprised at her question, but agreed to help her. “We are a team,” I had told her.
I spent weeks after she asked me to find the Chest, desperately trying to find it. Every night after I was sure everyone had fallen asleep, I would sneak out of the room, and begin my every night search. When I finally found it, I was thrilled. I quickly, yet quietly, woke Marina up from her sleep. “I found it,” I had whispered. Marina got to her feet and followed me to where it was hidden.
The Chest was hidden very well. It was hidden somewhere in the church of Santa Teresa, a place in which I had to climb stairs in order to get to it. As I tried to get Marina’s Chest, I had accidentally gotten it stuck. When I finally got it unstuck, a couple of bullies had heard us. We got into a fight with the bullies. At last, the bullies just decided to go tattle on us to the owners of the orphanage. However, I was badly injured. The nearest hospital was more than forty miles away, and there was no way I would have lasted that long. Suddenly Marina had said, “Don’t move, I think I can fix you.” She placed her hands on my wound, and a few moments later I was as good as new. That was when I knew for sure that Marina was a member of the Loric gardes.
There had been signs that Mogadorians were near. That is the exact reason why I am sitting in this old, vacant house. Not long after I had found the Chest, they showed up. Marina, her Cepan Adelina, and I had just left the orphanage of Santa Teresa when the Mogadorians showed their faces. Adelina sacrificed and lost her life fighting them for the safety of Marina and me. Crayton showed up along with Marina’s lifetime friend, Hector. Both Crayton and Hector fought the Mogadorians, killing many. Piles of ash were scattered everywhere on the snowy ground. Getting to the lake was our only chance of survival.
As we made our way to the lake, something completely unexpected happened. A strong thunderstorm had begun, and suddenly a girl appeared. This girl is no ordinary human. She is one of us; she is Number Six. Six is very beautiful. She is a tall, seventeen-year-old girl with raven black hair and she has blue eyes. At first when I saw her, I was convinced that I my eyes were playing tricks on me. For one moment she was there and then vanished. After she vanished, she appeared again, and that is when I was positive that this was real. Number Six has the legacy of invisibility.
Six and Marina together fought of the Mogadorians, exploding each of them into ash, and then we fled. At last, the battle against the Mogadorians was finished, for now at least. We fled until we found the house we are currently staying in. Even though this house isn’t in the best shape, we chose to stay in it, for we were all exhausted from the fight on top of the long journey we took to find the house. We agreed to take shelter inside the abandoned house. After we settled in for the night, we fell asleep.
Chapter 2

It has been about five days now since the most recent battle with the Mogadorians. Crayton, Marina, Six, and I have been here ever since the same day of the attack. We have been resting and gaining our strength back. I know that we have to get moving soon. It would only be a matter of time before the Mogadorians tracked and found our location. This was no time to face them in another battle so recent after the previous one.
Just as I sit up in bed, Six walks into my room. “Good morning, Ella” she says as she sits at the edge of my bed. “Good morning Six,” I reply back. “We need to get going,” she tells me. I nod as I slowly get out of bed. Our plan is to fly to America to meet up with John Smith, also known as Number Four, and his good friend Sam Goode who is not a number, but human.
As far as I know, all of the members of the Garde have developed their legacies. Number Six can control the weather as well as turn invisible, Marina, Number Seven, has the ability to breathe underwater, see in the darkness, and also has the ability to heal others as well as herself, and I have been told that John, Number Four, can turn his hands into lights that act as flashlights, but also has the power to make a person go blind. John is also fire resistant. There is a legacy that all the members of the Garde share, and that power is telekinesis, meaning that anyone who has that power can move items with their mind.
However, I am the youngest of my kind. I was a baby when we landed here. Even though I am now eleven years old, I have still not yet developed any legacies. The only power I have is the ability to change ages, but I was born with the ability to do that, and I can only change to the ages I have already been. That means that I cannot change to an age any older than eleven.
I follow Six into the living room and sit on the couch next to Marina, while we wait for Crayton. Five minutes later, Crayton joins us in the living room. “Are you all ready to go?” All of us nod and we head out. We get in Crayton’s truck and head towards the nearest airport. On the way Crayton tells us that we are not going to America right away.
“We are going to find number Eight first. After we do, then we can go to America and meet up with John and Sam,” Crayton says. “Okay,” we reply, knowing that it was pointless to argue. We know that we need to find the others. The Mogadorians have stepped up the search on us now that the charm has been broken.
The charm was really quite simple. When we were on the ships to come to Earth, each member of the garde was assigned a Cepan, so there were ten Cepans, and ten numbers. Once we landed on Earth, each number along with his or her Cepan scattered from the rest. As long as we were kept apart the Mogadorians could only kill us in numerical order.
For example, if the charm was still left unbroken, the Mogadorians could not kill me unless they killed numbers one through nine first. If a Mogadorian had tried to murder me before the charm was broken, the action it took to try to kill me would be reversed. For example, if a Mogadorian had aimed a gun at my head and pulled the trigger, it would be almost like the Mogadorian shot his own self, and within seconds, they would explode in a cloud of ash. Though, recently the charm was broken because we had begun to come together, so now, the Mogadorians could kill us in any order.
We are terribly outnumbered against them. Three of us are already gone, dead. The Mogadorians murdered them all. Only numbers four through ten remain. There are seven of us left, and thousands of Mogadorians. That reason alone is exactly why we need to find the others. As learned from the most recent battle, we are much stronger together than we are separated. Finding the others is our only chance, our only hope for survival.
Right now I am about to board a plane to fly to India. Crayton says that is where Number Eight is. He has his own radar that tracks us. It is how he found Marina. We are going to find Eight, and then head to America to meet back with John, number four. I can only hope that he has met up with another one of us.
We pull into the parking lot of the airport and park. Six is the first of us to get on board. I am not surprised that she sits in row number six. I assume that she half expected Marina to sit in the row behind her and me to sit in row ten. Instead, Marina and I both sit with Six. Crayton only comes on board once he is sure everything is in place. It seems to take a while for us to get up in the air, but at last we take off. We are off to India to find Number Eight.
Chapter 3

I sit up in my seat and glance around the plane, keeping my eyes peeled for anything suspicious. I want to be absolutely positive that everything is safe. For a brief moment, I glance over at Marina and Six and I notice that Six looks calm and relaxed, while Marina looks just as nervous as I am. “Are you guys okay?” Six asks us. “I-I’ve never flown on a plane before,” I stutter. Marina only nods, but I can tell that she means that she is in the same situation as me.
“It will be fine, trust me, I have flown thousands of times in my life,” Six reassures us. I am still nervous about the flight, but I trust Six, so I take a deep breath and try to relax. I notice that Marina is staring down at her Chest that sits in her lap. Looking at it, brings back memories of when I first met Marina at that orphanage, and when I was searching for the Chest. I smile a little as the memories flood my mind.
“Are you going to open it?” I asked her. She nods and places her hands on the lock. I felt bad for her because she can now open her Chest on her own. Before Marina’s Cepan died, she could only open the Chest with the assistance of Adelina. However, now that Adelina is dead, Marina can open it on her own. Even though I feel sorry about Adelina’s death, I watch with fascination as the lock on Marina’s Chest unlocks itself.

I only managed get to 3 chapters but I might try and continue if I get enough good reviews. Smile This has been proof red by my older sister as well as typed on microsoft with spell check and all that stuff.
