Report button?

Like say add one in the chatbox and in PM's.

What exactly Is a report button?

See the rectangle in the corner with a !? There should be one in the chatbox and in PM's.

Well first I would like to point out that its a triangle not a rectangle.

Personally, I don't see why there would be a need for on in the chat box since the only ones able to see the what is being reported are the admins and Dragonclaw is not on all of a time to watch for reports. And on top of that the chat box is all live feed. The moderators of the chat box are responsible for its content.

However, I don't think having a report button in private messages would be such a bad idea. It may help the staff to find out who's advertising through Pm's and if someone is verbally attacking another person without cause.

So overall I would have to say no to the report button in chat. It just doesn't have a practical use but I think the report button in Pm's could be beneficial.

I agree that it'd be hard to report chatbox things, do you'll just have to screenshot or immediately PM someone when anything happens. Though there are always people watching, whether it's a mod, tech team or other people in the chat. It's pretty secure.

A report button would help a lot in PMs, too. Instead of copying and pasting contents of PMs as a "report", you now have proof you didn't try to frame the person or anything. It's a more direct way.

Not always...what if the admins/mods are on vacation? And also another idea: the admin or mod gets notified right away is someone is reported. Overall, I agree.

I think Global Moderators get notified when something is reported, too, right? If they aren't, I think they should, since GMs should be able to take care of those things. ^^

No. It's just the administrators so far as I know, but it really just depends on Dragonclaw's settings. I'm not sure how how he has it set up. But in general they don't receive notifications.

When I was a GM, I'm pretty sure I got an email when something was reported.

Yes, I receive emails. I can also change the settings to allow email notifications for certain things as well, meaning I can turn it off. There's a reason for moderators, or else admins really would have to do everything.

Yes, added to the bottom after the standard stuff like turning off topic reply emails.

It's not that simple. Something like this has to be created with codes and to be entirely honest, it takes a back seat to the current projects. The tech team has a lot of stuff going on right now that they are working on and this idea doesn't have very many practical uses since dragonclaw and all of the tech team can already read and access anyone's Pm's or see and read the chat without have to be logged in to it at their leisure. So while I think it doesn't hurt to have it in the Pm's, there's no urgent need for something like this. So if it ever gets done that's great, but otherwise, it really doesn't matter since it isn't a necessity.

They're pretty much hand chosen from those with experience or those with a good rep around the forum.

Every year or so, (I think) There's a topic titled "Staff Search" Or something like that. Then, you submit an application to an Admin through PM. That is how you become a GM, and I think you get promoted to Admin. Not sure about Reviewers, though.
