Raven's Crest

It was a dark and tempestuous night. All the cats were huddled under the giant oak tree they called Raven's Nest. Though in truth the skies were clear, all could hear the resounding roars as the panthers tore through the cats' homes. Also, they could here the deep pants of a queen as she was giving birth to her third litter. DragonCrest stood over TwilightStorm as the first kit came out. He nipped the sac and started licking the kitten furiously. A squawl sounded above and DragontCrest looked to see the raven with the crescent moon scar over his left eye.

"I shall call him RavenCrest for he was born under the crested rav-"

At that moment one of the panthers tore out of the undergrowth and charged the huddled cats. TigerBrand, the cats' leader charged to meet it, but was swatted away like a fly. DragonCrest scooted his kitten to the side into the care of WaddleFlight, the birthing cat. Only TwilightStorm and DragonCrest were in the panther's way as the rest had fled. DragonCrest was just as easily swatted aside as TigerBrand. And the panther bit hard on TwilightStorm's stomache, killing her unborn kit and her.

And so RavenCrest was born.

His other brothers and sisters were likewise slaughtered in the Panther Massacre. He and WaddleFlight were the only survivors. They roamed for many moons before RavenCrest joined Shadowclan.
