Lost In The Tunnels RP

okay, here we roleplay cats lost in the tunnels

And we will try and survive there for as long as possible. Please note that you can only make a second character after your first character dies of starvation or exhaustion.

Owlfeather's whiskers twitched. "Queens? There are no queens since every she-cat here had gone out to hunt before falling in. We'll all hunt."

"Er actually..." Nightshadow glanced at where Splashtail should be. [let's make her pregnant and have kits in the tunnels ] "Okay, I'll hunt with you. There should be some moles here too." Even as she said it, Nightshadow could smell the musky scent of mole. Following the scent, she sensed something moving against the cave walls and pounced on it, snapping the neck with one swipe. She brought it back to the freshkill pile.

Owlfeather pricked his ears. Had Nightshadow left camp even as a queen? He shook the thought away, puffing out a sigh. Now that it was lighter he could see. "Great catch," He praised, and went to find his own prey. Crouching, he hear the scuffling of another mole. Quickly, he dug a small hole and exposed the mole's head. Owlfeather caught the mole and dragged it out by it's neck, dead. It wasn't a neat catch, literally, but they needed to eat. He put the dirt back into the hole, surprised as he felt mud on his paws. Owlfeather placed the mole beside Nightshadow's catch, frowning. "I think that there may be more water than we've realized down here."

"Definitely," Nightshadow agreed. "Actually, I think I'll search for water instead of prey. If you dig a hole, maybe there will be water in it. Would you like to join me?"

"Sure," Owlfeather meowed, cleaning the mud from beneath his claws. "We should start above the dampest soil patch or mud."

Vapordance's eyes had adjusted a lottle. The sun rising helped too. "Guys.....um....I think I see a badger....." her voice was calm and quiet. A few tail lengths down the tunnel was a bulky mass that looked strangly badgerish.

Owlfeather froze, his ears pricked. "We can't be sure..." He meowed, his voice quiet to not alert the creature. "I say we avoid it. Whatever it is, it's blind in the dark. I can tell by how it's walking. Any ideas?"

"Well..." Vapordance looked around slowly. Aseperate tunnel branched away from the one they were in and was far away from the creature. "Let's take that tunnel to our far right. It is opposite of the badger thing and looks safe enough.."

~Why do they need to look for water if theres a river running through the cavern?~

"I caught a mole earlier." Mistrain said to the earlier question about prey. Then when someone said about looking for water she said, "Why do we need to look for water when we've got a river right here." She spotted some moss growing on a rock by the river and said, "We could use some of that moss for nests."

~That was all before the badger~

Mistrain looked at the badger. "We'd have to be careful not to get lost. But what do we do if it decides to live in the cavern? It might be hard to find another one like this one."

Splashtail saw Nightshadow's glance, he was confused, if she was pregnant, why hadn't she told him? he shook a thought away, that his mate didn't trust him. He left his dip in the dirt and smelled rat. Rat! he raced back to the meeting place, "We have more problems, I smell rats, not one but a whole group." he mewed. [Will Nightshadow tell him about the kits soon?]

Owlfeather nodded. "Right... I'll go behind." He meowed, and waited for everyone to go through the tunnel.

Robunleaf shivered. "It's quite cold down here. If there are rats, we may have to hunt those too." She stepped through the tunnel.

"Right, there were only like 3." He mewed.

"Well, eating rats is better than nothing," Nightshadow meowed as she followed the cats down the tunnel. She gave Splashtail a we'll talk later look.

Splashtail caught her look and walked back to the place he smelled rats, just his luck there was a whole colony of rats, hundreds, they flooded onto him and he screeched in terror "HELP!"

Robinleaf panicked. "Everyone get out of this tunnel!" she yowled. "Back to the main cavern! It's too dangerous in a narrow space like this." She felt the rush of rats climb onto her back, their claws scratching to cling into her fur.

Owlfeather let out a cry of pain as a rat's teeth sank into his shoulder. He slammed into the wall violently, crushing it instantly. "Vapordance! Where are you?" He cried, not seeing the she-cat. "Go to the caverns everyone!"

"Everyone retreat!" Nightshadow yowled as she used her shoulder to push Splashtail, then Owlfeather back. She then turned on the rats with a yowl, viciously slaughtering many by slicing open their necks. But there were simply too many, and the attack was too organized. She noticed how they were moving as one, the movements rippling out from one point. "There must be one or more rats commanding the mass!" she snarled. "We have to kill it/them!"

Owlfeather gritted his teeth as another rat bit his leg. In the mix of rats, he saw devious red eyes glinting. A white pelt stood out between the mess of blacks and ugly browns. "The white one!" He meowed, struggling through the crowd of rats, feeling them climb on top of his pelt, and reached the albino rat, who bared it's teeth. Quickly, he grabbed it in his jaws and bit down, snapping it's back in two.

Nightshadow watched as the flood of rats instantly turned into a scrabbling, confused mass. "Good!" she called, panting. Then she hissed at the rats in front of her. They quickly scrabbled away.

~Gonna pretend Nightmoon did stuff during that. ~

Nightmoon shook the confused rats off of her. "Scat!" she hissed, then watched them run away in fear, terror, and confusion. She checked her wounds. She was bleeding from multiple small rat bites, and one big rat left a bad wound on her hind leg. "So, who knows how to treat rat bites while in a cave?" she asked. "Or do we just have to deal with them?"

Robinleaf collapse on the ground. She was exhausted. "Is anyone else really cold?" she asked, shivering. The scent of rats was strong in the air and it was making her nauseous.

~she gets sick :O it'd be so useful if a medicine cat fell. Someone's gonna have kits too right?~

"No, but I know a bit about herbs..." Nightshadow answered. "Robinleaf, I think you might have a cold."

~yeah, Nightshadow's going to have kits~

~the battle with the rats in the tunnels is over, and Robinleaf might have a cold. Also Nightshadow's pregnant O.o~
