Interactive Story- The Clans vs The Dark Forest!
Note to Phoenixwing: I apoligize if this in the wrong section, but since this isn't techincally a fanfic I didn't know where else to put this. Please move this to the right place if I posted this thread in the wrong section!
I decided to try something new with the forums, so I came up with this idea. It's very unique from the other types of RP on this forum, so let me explain;
1. This 'story' takes place during The Last Hope, with the clans from the books. However, you can still play as your own roleplay character if you want! (See The Rules section for more information) You can kind of think of this RP as a re-write of the final battle in The Last Hope. Instead of an overnight battle, this is a war being fought over the course of a year!
2. How this Interactive Story works is that once you start the game and give me all of your character and clan information, I'll give you a description of what is currently happening in your clan. Along with this description is some stats about how well your clan is faring. This is what it would look like...
But I guess I should explain what each one does.
DF Position- Short for Dark Forest position. The lower this stat is, the closer the dark forest is getting to your camp. Of course, you can attack them at any time if you want.
Moral- This represents how confident your clan is in their fight against the DF. It can help your clan fight harder, but if it stays low (below 5) for too long, more of your warriors may abandon you to join the dark forest, and you can never get them back.
Health- This indicates the general well being of the clan. The higher it is, the more they can fight against the DF. It also determines how well they can resist disease.
Alliance- This shows you how well your relationship is with the other clans, and how willing they would be to help you during a really tough fight. The dark forest will send undercover agents into your allies camp to spread rumors about you, so it's very important to visit your allies once in awhile to keep your bond with them! You may also have to spare some of your warriors to help them in a fight to keep your clan in good standing with them.
Once you get a new entry, you can say in a post what you want to do and/or post a responce like you would in a normal RP, and I will post a reply telling you the results of your actions. The outcome of your choice depends on all of the four stats above.
Every single decison you make in the game will affect the final battle, and may even determine whenever you win or lose against the Dark Forest. There are an unlimited number of outcomes, so feel free to start a new game if you finished one already!
When you first start the game, there are three choices you have to make that do not affect any future aspect of the story. This is what they are..
Your Character's Name: You are the leader of your clan. You can play as one of the current leaders; Firestar, Blackstar, Onestar, or Mistystar, or you can play as one of your role playing characters! You can also choose to keep their warrior name if you want. And don't forget to include your character's description and personality! WARNING: You cannot use someone else's character for this roleplay! It is still a violation of the RP rules that states that you can't play as someone else's characters! You will be reported to the admin if you do this!
Your Clan's Name: Again, you can choose to lead one of the original clans, or you can rename it to a clan name of your choice, as long as it's appropriate, of course.
Who Live's in Your Clan?: If you have more than one roleplay character, you can get your other characters to join your clan, as long as their your own. You can even replace all of the warriors from the original clans with your own characters if you want!
And that's all there is to it! If you guys want to play in the same game, (E.g Honeystar's game is connected to Icetail's, so they can be allied with eachother) just let me know! Hint: If you form an alliance with another member on this site, your alliance stat with them will stay at 10 permantley.
If you guys are confused about anything, please let me know! I hope you guys will enjoy this, I put a lot of thought into it! Have fun!

These four stats outlined in blue can be critical to your clan's victory over the dark forest; each one helps your clan in a diffrent way. All stats are measured on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the best it can be and 1 being dangerously low.
Season: Early leaf-fall (this is the starting season for everyone. Once a year is passed in the game and your story is back at the start of leaf fall, the final battle with the dark forest will begin.)
Situation: Your Clan is in high spirits, as you have managed to hold the dark forest at bay for awhile and have gathered enough food for everyone to hold their strength. But every night terrible yowls warn of the dark forest getting closer, and frightens everyone from getting any sleep. Something has to be done soon.
DF Position: 5
Moral: 7
Health: 9
RiverClan Alliance: 3
ShadowClan Alliance: 10

So... each person gets their own Clan? Am I right? And Stareye, I think it's okay to put it here.

Ok. Thanks for letting me know that!
And everyone gets their own clan. I am not sure if I made this clear, but you can choose to keep your game seperate from everyone else. But if everyone does want their game connected to other players, I guess that could be a problem. How about this? Four people can connect their game, one person for each clan. If another person wanted to connect their story to other members, we could start a seperate story for that person and another three people, and so forth. Is that ok?

That's okay. I seem to have all the bad luck when I am trying to explain something. In fact, that's how most of my ideas die; no one understands and then they lose intrest. I'll edit the the first post and try to make it simpler!

Re: Interactive Story- The Clans vs The Dark Forest!
I get it now though! It's kind of like the games at the back of some of the Warriors books.
IceClan
Leader:Krashath- long-haired silver-grey tabby tom with dark grey stripes that cover his body, and deep blue eyes. He is only a little larger than average, but is lightning fast, muscular with large paws with shark teeth claws
Deputy Shruikan- very large, titanium-colored tabby tom. He has inky black stripes and markings that cover his head and body, with long whiskers and strange green-blue eyes. He has a muscular build and his claws are three inches long and razor sharp.
Medicine Cat: Isidar- very pretty dark gray she-cat with large golden eyes. She has white-tipped ears, a pale belly, and black paws. She has a lean build and a long tail, and despite being the medicine cat, has very long, sharp claws
Warriors:
Kazan- short-haired, jet black tom with a broad face and piercing green eyes. He has a lean, muscular build, and a gray stripe that runs from the top of his head to the base of his tail, and flecks of white covering his two back legs. His paws are small, but contain deadly long, sharp claws
Althea - long-haired, white she-cat with silver tabby markings on her face, growing fainter to a mear smudge on her body. She has a lean build, and azure blue eyes. Her tail and whiskers are long, and her nose a soft pink that stands out from her pale fur. Her blade-like claws extend from surprisingly delicate gray paws.
Eragon- solid black, short-haired tom with a larger than average muscular build with long fur. His eyes are smoky gray, flecked with gold and green, with fangs that are even sharper than his shark-teeth claws. His pelt is devoid of markings except a splotch of white on his chest
Arya - very dark gray she-cat with short fur and a long tail. She has a strong, but agile and nimble build with matched with a cunning mind worthy of Tigerstar. Her dark stripes and markings cover her body, fading toward the paws, which are snow-white.
Spitz- larger, short-haired gray-brown tom with huge paws and longer-than-normal claws. With a broad face framed with long whiskers, his eyes are dark amber, almost black when he is angry. He is not very fast, but makes up for it with his strength and imposing demeanor.
Niva- surprisingly large black-and-white she-cat with emerald green eyes and a powerful build. She is still quite nimble and fast, with a narrow face and shorter-than-usual tail, which is covered with soft gray rings, ending in a black splotch at the tip,
Aten- young, long-haired gray tom with chilling, icy blue eyes that drill into others' eyes. He has a lean, muscular build, and his gray-black tabby markings flow down his body in a way that reminds cats of curling smoke. With a broad face and long legs, he is a strong climber of trees and a excellent swimmer.

Re: Interactive Story- The Clans vs The Dark Forest!
Excellent! I am trying to simplify the rules as I type this, and I am having a very tough time with it. Can you guys please tell me what is confusing you specifically? That will help me explain it so much better for all of you!
Pheonixwing, I love your characters! Everything about them is unique! Your description of Arya escpically intrigues me. Oh, and one more thing before I give you your first scenario; do you want to pick the type of habitat your clan lives in, or do you want me to randomly pick it for you? Either way if fine with me!
Phoenixwing's Story
Season: Early Leaf-fall
Situation: The dark forest has finally waged war on the clans! Krashath has just taken his previous leader's place, who died of greencough the night before the dark forest appeared. Instead of attacking head on, The leaders of the dark forest showed up at the gathering, and have alerted the clans of their intentions to wipe out every one of them. But they have given them a quarter moon (one week) to decide if they want to surrender right away and "save themselves the trouble". Most of the warriors plan on putting up a fight, even if their leaders say otherwise, but didn't say anything to the dark forest warriors to give their clans some time. After the gathering, the dark forest roamed in the clan cat's dreams, and to their horror, some of their soilders were deceased friends and family. What's worse, is that unusually early frost is starting to set in; food and herbs need to be gathered fast.
DF Position: 10
Moral: 6
Health: 8
Alliance: None
Just a note to everybody, this is the same situation that everyone gets at the start. The only thing that will be diffrent is how the character came to power after the previous leader died. If you don't want me to decide how your chracter became leader, all you have to do is ask!

Thanks Stareye! I took forever typing that. xD You can decide the habitat for me. Am I allowed to wait for other cats to create their Clans, so I can join an alliance?

You can wait if you want, but you don't have to. You can play the story while you wait, and create an alliance with someone as soon as they create their clans. But I am just saying that for anyone else who might have that question, do whatever you want! (I hope I am not being confusing again.... )Phoenixwing wrote:Thanks Stareye! IceClan's Habitat: This clan resides in the foothills of the tall mountains, and they are usually in the peak's shadow, making even the hottest days quite cool. Thick pine forests grow in IceClan's territory, and there are seldom any leaf-bearing trees to be found. One exception of this is the significantly huge maple tree just above the camp. Where the grass is usually dry and prickly, many wildflowers and ferns thrive in the forest, and bring about a strong spectrum of colour in green leaf. There are many fast running streams to be found in the territory, usually ice cold as the water comes from the mountains. The shores of these creeks are often overrun with smooth pebbles, which stand in contrast to the steep cliffs and sharp boulders that are scattered around the forest.

Re: Interactive Story- The Clans vs The Dark Forest!
IceClan had left immedietely after the Dark Forest cats had vanished. There was, Krashath had reflected, no point in staying at the Gathering with a bunch of panic-stricked cats. Better to go home and plan. Shruikan caught up to him on the narrow path up the IceClan camp. His deputy was even larger then him, which both amused and irritated Krashath, but he knew Shruikan would make a wonderful leader when his time came. "Are we going to fight?" the titanium tabby asked, looking over at his leader, green-blue eyes angry. "Of course," Krashath growled. "There's no way I'm going to let those pesky dead warriors squash us." Yet worry and caution told him not to underestimate their enemies. Dark Forest cats didn't need food, nor any herbs to treat their wounds. As the thought occured to him, another cat brushed forward to walk by him as they neared the camp. It was Arya. "Dark Forest cats have had moons upon moons to plan their attack," the large she-cat began. Obviously, Arya had already started planning and sorting through every possibility. Her often cruel cunning mind made Krashath glad she was on their side. "They obviously have everything layed out. I assume that you plan to fight, since I know you, Krashath. So, I suggest you ask a warrior or two to help Isidar gather as much herbs as possible..." "Will that be necessary?" A voice cut in. Eragon didn't flinch as all eyes turned to him. "I mean, don't we need to practice battle strageties, reinforce the camp, those kind of things?" Arya rolled her eyes good naturedly. "Of course. And besides those three, we still need to gather prey!" she explained witha flourish of her tail at Eragon. Krashath ducked into the pine bush tunn, a flicker of doubt in his mind. "So much to do," he meowed out loud. "Krashath! May I take Althea with me to gather herbs now, for some which are best harvested by moonlight? It's this herb that can cure all most any wound--" Krashath cut Isidar off with a flick of his tail. "Of course you may. You're our medicine cat; I don't explainations on why you need to," he told her. As the wto she-cats retreated, Shruikan turned to him with a grim nod. "I'll work out camp reinforcements with Eragon.... Could you do battle plans?" Krashath grimaced. "Not now. Not yet. Everything else is preperation for attack. Battle plans.. that's our form of attack. No, I'll start out on defensive moves first... I'm afraid that IceClan may be alone in this charge." Eragon opened his jaws to protest, but Krashath turned and vanished inside his den before he could say anything. Krashath was proud, and confident that IceClan could hold their own... but with no alliance? Casualities would be crippling. He had kept the confident and purposeful demeanor in front of his Clanmates, to encourage them, but inside, a tiny spark of doubt spluttered to life. Without his former leader and mentor, Niva to guide him... Krashath pushed the thought away. He had to stay strong. For every one of his Clanmates' lives.

This is a little confusing... So I would be a leader of a Clan and all the Clans are working together to stop the Dark Forest? Or can I "rp" as a warrior of another Clan?
And Phoenix, of course you would do names of characters in books related to dragons. XD

Re: Interactive Story- The Clans vs The Dark Forest!
Sounds like Pheonixwing is much better at explaining this game than me! I hope that cleared up your questions. Please let me know if you're still wondering about something!
@Thunderclaw Okay, your all set! The way an alliance works is that you have to approach the clan you want with an alliance, in roleplay form, (eg. Thunderstar and some of his warriors traveled to IceClan to talk to Krashath about an alliance) before the alliance stat is changed to 10 for your clans. I'll wait for Pheonixwing to reply before I mention it in the story, first.
EDIT: Umm... Pheonixwing, half of your warriors dissapered from your information. Did something break in the forums?
Pheonixwing's Story
Season: Early Leaf-fall
Situation: 3 days have past since the gathering. IceClan is hard at work preparing for battle, and most of them are exhausted with the constant labour. Nevertheless, they are all reassured by their leader's confidence, and knowing that the herb supply is overflowing with what they need. But even with all their efforts, the fresh kill pile was running low; all of the activity of gathering herbs and practicing fighting skills had scared most of the prey away. Some of the warriors think that they should eat the fresh kill before the senior warriors and the sick, because they would be doing most of the fighting. This has naturally sparked a negative response from their clanmates, and soon their will be a rift of contempt between the IceClan cats.

Thunderclaw's Story
Season: Early Leaf-fall
Situation: The dark forest has finally waged war on the clans! Thunderstar has just taken his previous leader's place, who was brutally murdered by a invading badger a quarter moon before the gathering.

Lol thanks Stareye! I don't know about my warriors. o.O Maybe my Kindle spazzed like it does sometimes and erased half my stuff. Ugh. Hmmm, I'll add them back. But I'll wait until I get on the computer, to avoid problems. Lol, thanks for telling me. I'd never have noticed.
Interesting updates. (:< Never fear, Krashathshall fix the problem of no prey! Mwahaha xD

She is still quite nimble and fast, with a narrow face and shorter-than-usual tail, which is covered with soft gray rings, ending in a black splotch at the tip. Her instincts are rarely wrong
I edited it! And Thunderclaw, maybe. I'll think about it. (:<
Krashath sighed wearily at the news Kazan brought him. Many younger warriors, like Aten, thought they should be the ones who should have the remaining prey in the dwindling supply of the fresh-kill pile. We need to send some hunting patrols out... Our reinforcements are almost done, so we can spare some cats... Hm. "Send Aten to me," he ordered Kazan, and sat down at the back of his spacey den. His blue eyes glowed reproachfully at the young warrior as he padded into the IceClan leader's cave. "That behavior is unacceptable, Aten." The young tom lowered his gaze, but his voice was still forceful, telling Krashath that he truly believed he was in the right. "We're the ones who'll be fighting..." Aten argued. Krashath frowned at him, and asked calmly, "Isidar doesn't fight. Should we starve her?" Aten opened his jaws, but he pressed on, "The senior warriors will still fight as well. That doesn't mean they should get less prey. Where is your honor Aten?" Krashath added gently. "These are your Clanmates." The gray tabby shut his mouth, the angry flash in his eyes dulling as he realized his imprudence. "It's alright," Krashath added quickly. He didn't want Aten to lose faith. The young warrior, however headstrong, was still valuable to the success of IceClan. "I'm going to send out a hunting patrol now. Would you like to lead it?" Pleased to see the fiery energy returning to Aten, Krashath got to his paws and called out, "Niva!" As the broad-shouldered she-cat poked his head into the cool cave, he waved his tail and ordered, "Go on a hunting patrol with Aten here. He's leading. Get another cat and head toward the mountain. We haven't been hunting there as much." If Niva was surprised, she didn't show it. "Okay Krashath. I'll get Spitz." As the two cats exited, Krashath breathed a sigh of relief. What next?
