Phoenixflower and Mallownose

Phoenixflower stared across the border that separated FireClan from the Tribe. Long ago as a kit she had traveled all the way from IceClan nursery to near the Tribe's camp. She would have perished had she not been found by Iceclaw. As a warrior, she knew she could probably make it through such a journey again. But she also knew better than to do it. Returning back to the present, she continued to look across the desert landscape that made up most of the Tribe's territory. "I hope he isn't being held up," she wondered to herself out loud. She glanced back towards FireClan, to see if anybody was around. She knew this was just an equally big risk as her journey. But she couldn't help it.

Mallownose and Gracesong raced under the eagle, and when the injuired bird finally began to lose air, Gracesong put on a burst of speed and raced ahead, but then stopped dead and fell into a crouch. "Just like we praticed!" Mallownose thought, then he raced up to Gracesong's back, and leaped into the air and lunged for the bird. Grappling the bird out of the air, the tom plummeted down to the earth, clinging to the bird. Standing up proudly with the massive eagle in his jaws, he paused to drink in the scents around him. "Fireclan!" he mewed shocked.

Soon, Phoenixwing noticed two Tribe cats bringing down an eagle nearby. She purred with excitement, and affection as she recognized Mallownose being the one who brought it down. But then realized how exposed she was, and the wind blowing towards the Tribe territory only made it worse. She tried to slink away into a bush and waited to see what would happen next. If they find out I'm here....

Gracesong and Mallownose nodded together, and padded together toward the golden shape. "Now where have I seen that pelt before?" Mallownose muttered, staring at the pretty amber-golden pelt. "Phoenixflower? Is that you?" Gracesong called out, stopping near the edge of the border. "Phoenixflower! Wow! SHe's even prettier than I remember......Too bad she's in Fireclan." Mallownose thought, then when he looked at his sister, he saw amusment reflecting in her eyes at his mooning over her, and in his embarassment, he licked his chest to try and hide his embarassment.
